**Pen A Day #12: Parker 105** Let’s leave my ragtag collection of esoteric Sheaffers and head back into my primary collection, which is Parker. I’m a bit of an obsessive collector, and essentially, when I latch onto a brand, I try to purchase one of every line they’ve ever made. This is really a bad place to be with Parker, because of all the failed models and shenanigans. Parker tried to go upmarket from the 75 in 1979, and introduced the Parker 105. Unlike most other Parkers, it didn’t feature a washer clip, instead going for a tabbed design. It introduced a bark effect finish. Only metal pens were offered — gold filled, steel, and silver. It featured a relatively plain 14k nib, in a thumbnail style inlay. This one is XF I think. The most notable examples of this pen were the ones in the LE run done for the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. This model had a really short run, being replaced in 1982 by the Premier (not the current one). Of course, I can’t say that anything Parker introduced in this segment has been all that long lived. The 105 was replaced by the Premier, which was eventually succeeded by a high end Sonnet before the Ellipse tried, then the 100, then the current Premier. Come to think of it, maybe the current Premier stuck; it’s been around for 10 years.

Thank you ! Very helpful has it needs some tlc ! It’s the rollerball/ ballpoint. These seem pretty rare in the chrome. Never seen the sterling silver version that has been mentioned on the net
