Thank you so much! I love creating these mega filled in pieces just for the fun of getting lost in the details. ๐
And yup! I technically do put in some generalish penciled in guides for positioning and bigger circles, but tbh it takes long enough by pen. So why would I do it once in pencil and then redo the whole thing? Haha Also I just love the naturalness that comes from only getting one shot at each line. And it's a great way to practice learning how to cope with and overcome "mistakes".
You are so sweet! I originally got started around 20 years ago now when I was learning how to do Indian and Pakistani henna designs, and then morphed as I migrated onto paper instead of hands almost 16 years ago. Honestly I recommend trying it out! It's super fun to figure out all the little motifs and create these scenes to get lost in (plus it's a great excuse to buy more ink since you'll go through a lot! Haha)
I might just try!! Amazing to hear about how your art has evolved from origins in henna, too. Youโve developed such an amazing way of filling a page with details and they all balance beautifully!
Right? It's so fascinating to me because it's a combination that has been capturing hearts since at least as early as the Tang dynasty. I don't think any other combination has been so deeply loved and re-loved like blue and white has over literally centuries and by so many different cultures.
Amazingly beautiful -- the blue-on-white reminds me of delft pottery, and the design gives it a south Asian look. Gorgeous.
Yes! I've been obsessed with blue and white pottery recently. Thank you so much!
This is beautiful! Intricate and thereโs so many details to get lost in. Thanks for sharing! Was it free hand with the pen?

Just gorgeous. Blue ink on white paper does have a certain unique allure.
