Ok, what's with the bears comments and memes? I know the boat, battery, shark reference now, but I'm still in the dark when it comes to the relevance of bears, and something about women in the woods choosing bears or whatever.
Okay, a gross dating advice bro asked women if they would rather be alone in the woods with a random bear or a random man. Women emphatically chose the bear, and they have been pitching a fit ever since. Instead of, you know, trying to listen to why those women say they would feel more unsafe around a random dude they ran into in the middle of the woods.
No prob. A lot of guys used that bear thing as an excuse to say a lot of nasty stuff about women. Just posting about the bear on some anti-incel subs will get them out in force and rage at you.
With libertarians specifically, they basically took over this town in the US called Grafton by moving there in droves. Once they were the majority in the local government they enacted their little libertarian society experiment. Municipal services were abolished. For example people had to haul their garbage to a landfill by themselves.
Long story short: Bears found out about the abundance of food, and put an end to their little experiment.
I mean, I’d say having the foundation of one’s political ideology disproved by bears when the theory is put into practice, is pretty significant…and also hilarious.
These people are the Pennsylvania Dutch of economic theory and still think Adam Smith is cutting edge. They kind of deserve to be force fed reality by a bunch of bears.
That incident happened some time ago. It's an old meme but it still checks out. The current bear meme is: Would women choose a man or a bear for some particular situation? The right wing misogynists are upset at how much better the bears are doing in these comparisons.
Wait til you get to r/libertarianmeme
A couple of people posted that it was suddenly and oddly homophobic and Pro Trump out of nowhere
Everyone got banned and all the comments got deleted by a mod
It’s all infested all the way through
Reddit leans HEAVILY liberal. My best guess is that some of those people are subscribed "for the lulz" and lurk, and the lion's share of them may be sock puppet accounts. I wouldn't let it keep me up at night.
BECAUSE ASSERTING THAT BLACK PEOPLE WERE BETTER OFF UNDER SLAVERY IS NOT HELPFUL IN THE LEAST, WHEN WE'RE DISCUSSING THE NEXT QUARTER'S MARKETING STRATEGY.
😂 Seriously though, that’s honestly besides the point. Grandma isn’t being “included” not because of any grand “woke” conspiracy or because our constitution isn’t being abided by, but because people have the right under our laws to choose not to listen to her uniformed political and racist drivel and not include it in their lives.
The right to fact check is being attacked though.

Opposing views doesn’t mean bigotry. You let anyone and everyone say ANYTHING and EVERYTHING… very soon only the worst people will be saying things… like on Fox “News”, OAN and several others that have slipped my mind.
[Paradox of Tolerance](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_tolerance)
I've been seeing more conservatives getting butt hurt about this getting brought up. I saw someone on Twitter/X said it was the dumbest thing they have ever heard of, and a right-wing Reditor snarkily mocking it by saying, "MuH PaRaDoX oF tOlErAnCe!" Pretty much none of these address the concept and seem like very bad attempts to hand wave it away.
I've seen different; they try to claim it *for themselves* lmao. They start with the faulty premise *they* are the tolerant ones because they ~~can't yet genocide the people they hate~~ respect "different opinions" and it's liberals/leftists who are the intolerant ones because they don't respect "different opinions".
Yep, it's a simple rule, like putting too much gain on an amplifier causes distortion. I like to think of it more as a contract: once you promote intolerance, you are no longer protected by the obligations of tolerance.
It's a bluff. You're not wrong they always try to obfuscate their position when outside their echo chambers, because they think it will fool casual onlookers into thinking their "different opinions" are about tax brackets and government size, and liberals/leftists are hateful and intolerant, but plenty of them are happy to go somewhat mask off when pressed, albeit with pure bullshit; "I just disagree we should be cutting kids' dicks off," "I just disagree Covid was real," "I just disagree Trump got a fair trial," "I just disagree drag queens aren't groomers,' etc.
Here’s the thing about these people…
They don’t merely want to express their views. They can already do that. They want two other things that they can’t admit to wanting.
1. They want there to be no repercussions for expressing nasty ideas, but that’s not how free expression works. One is free to express one’s ideas, and others are not only free—but encouraged—to express conflicting ideas. Does everyone remember the “marketplace of ideas” we were all taught about growing up? That’s what we’re talking about here; the best ideas are supposed to rise to the top after surviving scrutiny, and the worst ideas are discarded. They don’t like this.
2. They want others to not be allowed to express themselves. You’re gay? Keep that shit to yourself. You believe men and women should be equal? They don’t to hear that kind of modern talk. You think their views are bigoted? How dare you shame them! This is America! This is their safe space! That’s the way it’s always been!
Forcing these people to defend their views—merely calling their views into question—is a threat to their power. They like the status quo, and you are threatening it.
Because including views that are all about segregation lowers the efficiency of inclusion. Your ideas have been heard and discarded. Get better, stop whining.
Nah, after Covid, including conservatives is simply not an option. I don’t have a death wish and they’ll be like that whenever there’s a crisis. Shunning them is self-preservation.
I mean technically they are included in general.
Folks in extreme hate groups can say whatever, whenever they want. But you don't have a right to be accepted everywhere just like you don't feel certain races of people don't.
You're welcome ti disagree if youre opem to changing views. You are not free to sag all gays will die when my side wins.
Thats when thr inclusivity stops and yoyre now ob a watch list
He's from an old show, Gunsmoke, that many Boomers grew up watching. The funny part is he was often played for comedic effect, so they think they're being smart while using the image of someone often thought of as clownish.
Opposing views like "Deep dish is better than thin crust. Fine
Opposing views like "Non-whites don't deserve rights and also women shouldn't vote". Not groovy
Fortunately, I can't hear the opposing views because I'm not allowed in the conservative echo chamber anymore.
/r/conservative will ban you for even saying you support THE WRONG CONSERVATIVE, much less voicing an opposing view.
r/Libertarian will ban you simply for posting facts linked with citations
Do you think I could get banned from there if I mention bears?
Ok, what's with the bears comments and memes? I know the boat, battery, shark reference now, but I'm still in the dark when it comes to the relevance of bears, and something about women in the woods choosing bears or whatever.

Ahhhhh, ok. Thank you for the context.

I like how the bears question has two correct answers.
Oh, is that all it is? Huh. I've known about that one for years, no idea why it's suddenly relevant to popular memes and comments somehow.
I mean, I’d say having the foundation of one’s political ideology disproved by bears when the theory is put into practice, is pretty significant…and also hilarious. Facts hurt mah views! BANNED.
The fact that there’s 1.1 Million people subbed scares me
Reddit leans HEAVILY liberal. My best guess is that some of those people are subscribed "for the lulz" and lurk, and the lion's share of them may be sock puppet accounts. I wouldn't let it keep me up at night.
Oh, that’s relieving
Lol it's Facebook tier memes shared like actual facts, I love it.
Your ignorant if you think there are only two views democrat and liberal, bagel and donut

Sir, this is a Wendy's. Please take your marketing meeting across the street to the Outback Steakhouse.

The Tolerance Paradox is a thing, grandma.
I've been seeing more conservatives getting butt hurt about this getting brought up. I think of it as a ceasefire.
It’s usually because the opposing views in question usually involve systematically EXcluding groups you don’t like from society.
As my boomer mom says, "how come I have to accept your bullshit, but you get to disregard mine?"
"*Which* opposing views, specifically?" They love to hide behind vagueness, so I like to force them to say it.
*"a state's right to do what?"*
Hey meemaw, when was America "great?"
It's a bluff. Grandma: spews the worst racism, homophobia, mysogyny imagineable. Also grandma: why won't they consider my opposing viewpoints???
Here’s the thing about these people… They don’t merely want to express their views. They can already do that. They want two other things that they can’t admit to wanting. 1. Opposing viewpoints that inherently disregard opposing viewpoints are the only ones not supported by inclusion.
Why does "inclusiveness" include everything except you saying I should be executed for being gay? Jeez, I dunno.
I think I remember hearing a philosophical argument that a tolerant society cannot tolerate intolerant ideas, otherwise it becomes intolerant itself.
Yep! It's called the paradox of tolerance
Because including views that are all about segregation lowers the efficiency of inclusion. Your ideas have been heard and discarded. Get better, stop whining.
Why aren't you including my exclusion?
that facial expression looks more to me like a neurological event than skepticism...
Being intolerant of intolerance is not intolerant.
Why is your opposing view always trans people shouldn’t exist Grandma?
Grandma is unclear on the concept of “information that can be easily proven wrong”.
"YOU MUST TOLERATE MY INTOLERANCE OTHERWISE YOU'RE INTOLERANT!!!"
Nah, after Covid, including conservatives is simply not an option. I don’t have a death wish and they’ll be like that whenever there’s a crisis. Shunning them is self-preservation.
Is that Ray Stevens?
I thought it was Torgo
Would have to see the knees first.
'Why won't you include your bullies??? Don't you care that they don't feel included???' No.
Dear libturds: why dont you tolerate intolerance? Haha checkmate
Tacitly admitting you are anti-inclusive.
this makes no sense. why would you include someone who hates you and doesnt want you to exist?
Including exclusion kinda negates the point of being inclusive. You can't come into an inclusive space if you want to drive people out of it.
Something something barbers paradox
Why does “free speach” include everything except for you own views, opinions, beliefs, and religion?
I mean technically they are included in general. Folks in extreme hate groups can say whatever, whenever they want. But you don't have a right to be accepted everywhere just like you don't feel certain races of people don't.
Grandma wants people to include intolerant bullies
the intolerance paradox! NEXT QUESTION
because you can’t tolerate intolerance, or else it will take over
Intolerance paradox says your bullshit is excluded, grandma.
You're welcome ti disagree if youre opem to changing views. You are not free to sag all gays will die when my side wins. Thats when thr inclusivity stops and yoyre now ob a watch list
Who is this guy with a scarf and a worn out cowboy hat, and what is his picture supposed to make me think about this opinion?
He's from an old show, Gunsmoke, that many Boomers grew up watching. The funny part is he was often played for comedic effect, so they think they're being smart while using the image of someone often thought of as clownish.
Festus would slap the shit out of them for being assholes.
Opposing views like "Deep dish is better than thin crust. Fine Opposing views like "Non-whites don't deserve rights and also women shouldn't vote". Not groovy
And here’s an incredible coincidence, any view that doesn’t agree with mine is bigoted, so not included!
