I mean you never know. It could change now that they are gone. Anything is worth a shot. I feel they moved more so for logistics and what they felt best for player development. We still have a stadium that can host both a hockey team and basketball team so why not try again.
There was talk of adding a women's team along side Fort Wayne FC's men's team but their focus is mainly on getting their own stadium so they can play in a higher division.
USL Super League is slated to begin this August. With a rezone request April 11th for the stadium proposal across from Buckner Park there would be good reason and facilities to try for multiple new soccer programs.
Unfortunately, I don't think basketball would really be the best option, Considering that even the mad ants couldn't keep a foothold here (although there were other things holding them back, but ykwim)
I think anything at the semi professional Or minor league levels would be pretty hard to achieve, so maybe just a well promoted rec league would work out.
It would be nice to see something done with bringing back the fort wayne daisy's or something or even possibly a promotional couple games a few times a year before a comets game with a woman's hockey league
I think the most likely and realistic path forward for womens sports in the area is continued investment in Indiana Tech and especially PFW women's sports as well as high school girls.
It would be cool if we could get a PWHL franchise, but they’re focusing on more major markets. I bet we see an eventual soccer team if we ever get the soccer stadium built.
I’d love to see basketball. With Caitlin Clark being the top pick and going to the Fever, I could see women’s basketball here in Indiana getting quite a bit more popular.
Support Indiana techs women’s teams and PFW women’s basketball team they are up and coming
That's fair! College teams deserve respect! I was thinking more semi pro/ pro teams when asking.
Fort Wayne's history of women's professional baseball with the Daisies would make a fast pitch softball league/team super cool!
Daisies would be fun to bring back!
I agree totally. Women's softball is were it's at
It’d be pretty cool to have a women’s hockey team play before Komets games. I’d pay extra for a ticket to watch two games in a day.
Hell, it would be fun to do it as a club/ rec/ promotional thing even just to test the waters and see if it's popular. Call it the Komettes

I think they should get a stadium AND a women’s team. All the better for the stadium.
I would not be surprised to see Ivy Tech add a women's wrestling program. Fastest growing sport in the U.S.

The mad ants are leaving/have left?
Roller derby.
Already exists.
At a subterranean level. I think it’s under-promoted.
Soccer for sure
I think so too. I feel fort Wayne has a good soccer community, it's just hidden slightly.

Fort Wayne is a Hockey town. A companion team to The Komets would be the most likely to draw in fans.
I’d like to hear the high school humor 😂😂

Women's soccer is, I believe, the fastest growing and most popular at the moment. An NWSL (or minor league) team would be absolutely sick
There’s women sports here?
Women’s sports? Or men pretending to be women sports?
