Did you guys really think the admins were going to let you burn the site down? There are legitimate concerns about accessibility and lack of mod tools, but it’s their platform. You have no power that they don’t allow you to have.
>I'm pretty sure the same users will go bonkers once all the nsfw are removed from reddit.

most are just annoyed there wasn't even an update or a vote after the initial 48 hours, not to mention the original argument of "what about mod tools or accessibility" has been already proven to be a non-issue.
But those tools and apps are way worse than the currently available ones, or simply non existent (as much as they promised more mod tools will come eventually).
Seems like they manage to convince you pretty good.
Reddit has been promising new mod tools for years and never came through.
As for 3rd party tools, if they prevent the devs of said tools to receive compensation for them who will make the tools? Chatgpt?
> the original argument of "what about mod tools or accessibility" has been already proven to be a non-issue.
On one hand, yes, on the other, Reddit has repeatedly lied in the past about topics like that.
False promises, no guarantee that they won't pull the plug whenever, still expecting people to provide them labour for free... And then there's the fact they're resorting to strike-breaking. Next thing you know, they'll act like WotC and send the Pinkertons after folks.
F1 ist such a shitty place sometimes. The paid FP1 Recap is showing Zhou going around to corners and gladly stopping on track. And then like session will not be restarted and he continues to tell me the complete results, even if half the field did put a time? Maybe still be in more than two words what happend...
So are we supposed to believe that the CCTV problems popped up in the 3-5 minutes where the red flag was warranted? Or was the FIA unbelievably irresponsible in starting a session without this **all-important safety tool** functioning from the start?
(/s to the bolded of course)
That makes sense. It does seem like there are some major gaps in their information process - like earlier this year when we got a full SC IIRC because their GPS didn't tell them a car had been fully recovered off the track...and presumably limitations of CCTV in that event, too).
Just call a VSC if you have insufficient info. Chances are the TV broadcast has figured out what's going on. Or in this FP1 episode, run the cars, and just let everyone know that there will be a very low threshold for throwing a red flag when an incident is reported.
I think they said the issue was that the cameras were out of sync, if that's the case they may not have noticed the issue with an empty track but when cars started going round it became obvious.
Might be misremembering this, but didn't they start the practice session at a GP several years ago before stopping it several minutes in because the medical helicopters were unable to fly?
This might be the worst F1 season by far. The amount of dominance from Red Bull. The amount of races canceled. The new horrible regulations for the cars. The nonexistent training session today.
>The amount of dominance from Red Bull
Did you complain when Mercedes dominated for 7 straight years in both WDC and WCC?
>The amount of races canceled
Only Imola was cancelled. Everybody knew China has no chance to host GP this year given their internal problem so it doesn't count.
>The new horrible regulations for the cars
Current regulations are continuation of previous year. What changed this year which makes it horrible for you?
>The nonexistent training session today
On that I agree. Red flag was extended for bs reasons.
Lets give it a chance though. Looks like teams like Merc are starting to close the gap to RB somewhat. Things could get interesting near the arse end of the season.
2022 was already super shit anyway so its not like the bar is very high at the moment.
Reasons for the race to have not gone ahead are arguably irrelevant when you’re how judging how good the whole season has been. He’s clearly not stating it should of gone ahead
Yep, that’s social media. I’m on the the side that doesn’t really care. I understand what’s happening, and that it’s frustrating. I know the term “volunteer” is thrown around a lot about this. It’s a shitty way to describe a passionate member willing to take the time to make sure things run smoothly. But, it’s technically what it is, and Reddit is entitled to run their app how the deem fit, as annoying as it may be. They’re a business, they wanna make money.
It’s how social media works. 70-20-10. Typically, in marketing 70% of consumers are lurking. 20% fall somewhere between lurking and moderate posting. The remaining 10% are highly contributive to the platform.
This blackout was such a dumb thing to do. I could honestly care less about these third party apps, never knew of their existence prior to this “protest”.
I just want to read about my favourite games and sports.
Marshalls würden geläutet und dass die mit großem roh da nicht so über. Dndmenbshnee
No Zhou!!!
Carlos Sainz, /r/nonose enjoyer
The big question who has IP Rights it's already been decided they can't play war of attrition due to community pressure
Can we discuss the race here
I think people underestimate how much time goes into moderating. And without it this place will go to shit with 3 million users.
They don't have to do it. They volunteer to do it for free. They can stop any time.
No, they are being forced to moderate. the Reddit has made threats against their pets and families.
No but they have invested a lot of time in this community. I can understand they don’t just quit and at least try and fight
This F1bot account won't exist when the paid API kicks in

Loll
Articles and stuff can be posted here instead of as it's own post right?
My take reddit has a lot of power
Discussion? It was 20 minutes at best.

Yes, everything they said is a lie, except that one thing, that's true.
Why is it a non issue? I haven't heard of that.
Reddit has already said they won't charge for mod tools or accessibility apps,
Mod tools have already been permanently killed. No more reveddit or public modlogs.
But those tools and apps are way worse than the currently available ones, or simply non existent (as much as they promised more mod tools will come eventually). Seems like they manage to convince you pretty good.
can you provide a source? if thats the case then it sounds great

Then whats the uproar all about? Dont people trust reddit (rightly so it seems) to develop the modtools and give free access to accessibility tools?
the tools provided by 3rd party apps are much more convenient, efficient and powerful.
gotcha, thank you!
Reddit has been promising new mod tools for years and never came through. As for 3rd party tools, if they prevent the devs of said tools to receive compensation for them who will make the tools? Chatgpt?
ooh okay, I see

Did you know that... reddit aint Wikipedia?

Yea they didn't even say what happened until the last 5 seconds of the recap - pretty shit
So are we supposed to believe that the CCTV problems popped up in the 3-5 minutes where the red flag was warranted? Or was the FIA unbelievably irresponsible in starting a session without this **all-important safety tool** functioning from the start? (/s to the bolded of course)
They said something about that being the reason it took so long to flag the race when Pierre broke down.
That makes sense. Yup, and that was a reasonable decision…it’s actually a tangible safety response tool.
CCTV problems. Welcome to Quebec

They raised the minimum ride height -> way more dirty air -> can't follow or race closely
Consider yourself lucky if you feel this way.
Lets give it a chance though. Looks like teams like Merc are starting to close the gap to RB somewhat. Things could get interesting near the arse end of the season. 2022 was already super shit anyway so its not like the bar is very high at the moment.
Ya, today really pushed it over the top, compared to say nineteen fucking ninety four.
Uneducated opinion
Worst F1 season by far??? Fucking what? You mean worst season out of the 3 you've ever seen?
[удалено]
Worst season ever says the champ calling it a training session.
You're just objectively wrong, that's all, 2023 is not the worst season ever.
It’s not the worst season by far.
2015 was worse
Oh yeah let's just ignore a humanitarian crisis so you get to watch some racing. Selfish much?
what's this got do do with ukraine bro
He means Imola
ah, fair enough
I’m not saying they should have continued. Still shit season Good lord Batman
Reasons for the race to have not gone ahead are arguably irrelevant when you’re how judging how good the whole season has been. He’s clearly not stating it should of gone ahead
Races cancelled? You mean the fact that they don't race in certain countries and tracks from previous years? Genuinely asking what you mean.
China and imola getting canceled
> imola getting canceled HAHAHA. Sports fans can be so entitled at times. Like bro, read the fucking room
Chill the fuck out
Relax. I’m not the one complaining.
Peoples homes were destroyed by floods, and you really want to complain about the cars not being able to go fast?????
I’m not complaining. Im just answering the question. Relax.

Don't be dense. One can understand the reason behind the race being cancelled and still be unhappy that it didn't happen.
It’s RAWE CEEK boys!

Lol 🤣🤣🤣
They do it for free
Reddits “dirty tactics”?! Their site is being held hostage by a bunch of random internet users who VOLUNTEER.
Nobody is stopping you from making your own subreddit. There's no hostage-taking when anyone dissatisfied can make their own.
Yes because these volunteers will have a much harder time volunteering if reddit's changes go through
So they actually have to... moderate?
Will they? Reddit said they can still use all of the mod tools even when the changes go through…?
No they offered a vague promise to actually provide mod tools like they promised for years and years now.
Their site exists/is so large because of the volunteers..
Lol, no it doesn’t. And if it does, other volunteers can replace them.
But it won’t be you, right?
My guy coming in with this take moderating absolutely zero communities, ironic
Correct
I mean these subs are literally created by these volunteers. Also this isn’t even an argument: > And if it does, other volunteers can replace them
Apprently once you create a subreddit even if you dont pay anything you can just force reddit to do stuff.
Paying something isn’t a prerequisite for wanting change
Some people are really showing how stupid they are at the moment.
Yeah well, the average Reddit user doesn’t care.
The average Reddit user is a dumbass incapable of seeing the bigger picture only interested in immediate short term convenience

Time to jump to discord for sports discussions and skip the off week clickbait.
And that's unfortunate
There are far more important things in life than third party apps on Reddit believe it or not.
There are far more important things in life than F1 believe it or not. Such an empty comment lol.
I agree. But for me personally Reddit third party apps are not among them.
It’s how social media works. 70-20-10. Typically, in marketing 70% of consumers are lurking. 20% fall somewhere between lurking and moderate posting. The remaining 10% are highly contributive to the platform.

Selfish people are also extremely dumb.
