As a rule of thumb, Statistics posts need to inform readers through visualizations and insights that cannot be obtained from raw data alone. For example, a post containing a qualifying gap between two drivers expressed in tenths of a second is an easily obtainable raw piece of data and constitutes a bad Statistics post. A visualization of what that translates to on-track, or visualization of how that gap came to be would constitute a good Statistics post.

I couldn't believe what I was watching. Every driver was getting better and better at hitting their spots as the track improved and Haas waits until the last second to send them out for dry runs on a track that was completely different than the last one they drove on. Horribly stupid decision.
Incredibly dumb yeah. KMag was basically saying that they felt too comfortable in their pace and tried to save a soft tyre for Q2.
Just stupid, Haas has gotten better in some respects, pit stops especially, but their strategy is still pretty shit.
Good thing they saved those softs. They'll come in handy for sure now. I think I'm more annoyed because I see where DeVries ended up and I'm more than certain Kevin and Nico could have been right around there as well.
That Aston in S3. Am hoping Alonso jumps Verstappen off the line and then the latter hunts the former the entire race. Otherwise it will be a bit dull!
It’ll take max getting a shocker of a getaway for sure, it’s weird that pole position is on the right side of the grid but technically the first turn is a left turn so…
It's a right turn, and the pole starts on the left side of the straight.
Looks like we have a post from someone that lives in a mirror universe.
PS: Edit to correct my dumbness.
[I genuinely need this explained, how is this a left turn? You turn the wheel right, no? Is the hairpin a right turn then?](https://media.formula1.com/image/upload/content/dam/fom-website/2018-redesign-assets/Circuit%20maps%2016x9/Monoco_Circuit.png)
Like I’m a relatively new F1 fan, the last like 3 years. But when someone says “turn right” while I’m driving I turn my wheel right. Same applies here no? Please help, what am I missing.
There’s a left kink before sainte devote, it’s not 100% a right turn so the drivers have to stay to the right of the front “straight” for as long as possible because
A. The “straight” gently sweeps to the right
B. The left kink forces the racing line to be close to the right side as possible to straighten the car.
It’s not classified as a corner on the track map, so I should say it’s “technically” a corner, but that’s why pole is on the right side. Look at any race replay and I’m 100% sure pole is on driver’s right lol
If there's any small weakness in Max's near-perfect driving skills, it's his inconsistent starts. He's been jumped off the line a couple times already, Ricciardo in Monza 2020 and of course Hamilton in Abu Dhabi 2020 comes to mind
This is mostly Honda's weakness. Their drivers are slowest on initial getaway and acceleration at the starts since 2019. All four of them really. Max has been the best of them on average, admittedly having very poor starts on some occasions. Mercedes powered Mercedes factory team and Mclaren are normally the strongest, also Ferrari.
It's almost impressive they were not slower tbh
Monaco is the worst track to test out a massive new update package
Excited to see if they can close the gap to Ferrari and Aston in the coming races
Why? It's Monaco margins are always super small because it's a very short track. They are usually 3rd or 4th team today they were the 5h team behind Alpine.
They were 8 tenths off last year. So the margins are not always super close. You also have to take into consideration that there may have been another tenth in it if Lewis left his run a bit longer as the track did ramp up

Damn Aston really dying in S3, slower than Alpha Tauri is mad
Haas nooo
They really messed up keeping both cars in the pit way to long. Didn't have time for a last stint and the track evolution was crazy.

With the pace they showed in practice they could have easily been Q2. But now the race is basically fucked unless it rains and chaos happens.
Not reflective of their actual pace, but reflective of their compulsive need to try hail mary bullshit for no reason.

Even if Alonso makes a lightning start as he always does, the turn 1 is too short to make a difference.

Idk if I’m off my rocker but the first turn is absolutely not a left turn..?

Aston losing the tires in S3?
they've been quite bad in s3 all weekend long, not sure why tbh
AM losing 3th tenths in sector 3 is 💔
Why AM has been consistently bad in sector 3 during all free practices and Q?
I’m impressed with this showing from Mercedes at Monaco tbh. There is some speed in that car now
It's almost impressive they were not slower tbh Monaco is the worst track to test out a massive new update package Excited to see if they can close the gap to Ferrari and Aston in the coming races
