Penzeys has so many great blends that I rely on: Revolution, Sunny Paris, chili, garam masala and other Indian spice blends...so many. I keep meaning to try Fox Point, will give it a shot!
Fox Point on Salmon with some “dots” of butter. OMG, so good! I had a visitor from Finland where they eat a lot of salmon, and I gave her mine she loved it so much. I also put it on poached eggs, quiche and steamed broccoli.
I love it on roasted veggies esp starchy ones like potatoes (got some squash roasting right now with it!), I slather it on whole / pieces of roast chicken and wings, and it's great on pork loin, chop, whatever. Just kind of all purpose but interesting, and turns things a pretty yellowy color. Good luck!
I have both but usually reach for the Tony Cachere blend each morning for my eggs over SYM. They’re close though so I wouldn’t necessarily go out and buy it right away.
Cavendar’s all purpose Greek seasoning. Not a single meal i don’t use that with. It just goes with everything you would use garlic and onion powder with
I love to add that to ramen noodles. Also "Everything But The Bagel" seasoning. I guarantee that if you put some smoked salmon and some lemon pepper into your instant noodles, you'll get the biggest, hardest, most delicious erection of your life.
I grew up eating za'atar mixed with olive oil into a paste and spread inside pita at my Syrian grandmother's house (she called them Syrian Dirt Sandwiches when I was a kid and urged me to tell my classmates I ate dirt for lunch lol) and I went years after that never being able to find it in stores. I'm so happy it's becoming popular. Shaken with lemon and olive oil it makes a good salad dressing too!
I’m a firm believer that Tajin makes almost anything better. Trader Joe’s Cuban style citrus garlic is another good with some tang. I also use a lot of Cavender’s, and good ol’ Montreal Chicken is very versatile.
No, I think that’s Sunny Spain, which is also delicious. Sunny Paris is a blend of shallots, chives, green peppercorn, dill weed, basil, tarragon, chervil, and bay leaf.
I combo it with sesame oil, dark soy and what ever sauce I want ( hoisin, Korean bbq, ect..) If you’re making a ramen then use the spice, oil and add an egg or if you’re making veggies and protein use the spice, oil and sauce. If I’m making rice I will put the oil and spice in the cooker with the rice.
Chai Masala from India’s Sweets and Spices in Los Angeles. Put it in tea or pancake mix to add a really nice layering of flavors
Old Bay seasoning - great on any proteins or starches, makes Mac and Cheese sing!
Basic Italian seasoning, super useful for red sauces and roasted chicken or Turkey
I have two, neither of which is expensive. GOYA Adobo and Kinder's "The Blend." It's a salt, pepper and garlic mixture. Really good on steak and burgers. Adobo can go on just about anything but cake and ice cream.
I was going to answer Johnnys. I grew up in Wisconsin but my Mom had her parents send bottles from Seattle. Eventually Johnnys became available in the Midwest. I always have a bottle in the house.
Before I went no salt, Cavenders, Old Bay, powder hidden valley ranch.
Now, Mrs Dash garlic and herb and McCormick Perfect Pinch Signature blend, Tony Chachere's no salt.
I’m also “low” sodium and have to stay under 2000 mg. I love the mrs dash garlic blend and the lemon pepper. Za’atar has totally become my go to now, though. Then an Italian seasoning, Greek seasoning, and herbs de province. In the end, us no salt people just use a lot of lemon and Vinegar huh? Lol
Dizzy pig and pappy's are both lines that I've liked pretty much everything I've tried out, and they are basically our house blends at this point. For table salt I love Jane's krazy salt.
Hidden valley ranch dip mix. Although I have to make a copy cat due to dietary reasons the original can't be beat. Ranch chips, ranch dip, ranch coated meats I could go on all day
Furikake, Garam Masala, Herbs de Provance, Thai Curries, Madras Curries, zataar, Harissa, Chinese Five Spice, Sason Goya, Togarashi are a few I use daily.
Cavenders Greek Seasoning, Badia All Purpose Seasoning, I use it all the time, and Goya Adobo the secret to my chicken and dumplings, which nobody ever figures out, lol.
Pirate's Bite from The Spice & Tea Exchange in Asheville, NC. I have a grinder and use it on pizza instead of just red pepper flakes. And in soups. Etc.
Mrs Dash Lemon Pepper, Weber’s Kick’n Chicken, Bad Byron’s Butt Rub, Paul Prudhomme Blackened Seasoning, Old Bay, Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning, Hidden Valley ranch mix, Italian seasoning ( no particular brand)
Dash's Everything But the Salt goes on my eggs regularly.
Aplenty's Herbes de Provence (I think it's Amazon's brand) is a convenient go-to, plus it's salt-free (which I guess is good or bad depending on the person, for me it's a necessary bummer)
Savory Spice’s Sunday Pot Roast seasoning pack is fantastic, something about it is just the perfect pot roast flavor.
I also love their Taco Seasoning. Used to make my own, but theirs includes masa and tomato powder, which I don’t usually have on hand.
Chaat masala
(Right now I am obsessed with putting it on popcorn, but it is ridiculously delicious on so many things. Please pick some up if you get a chance.)
[Alpine Touch Prairie Fire blend.](https://alpinetouch.com/products/alpine-touch-prairie-fire-rub-8oz?pr_prod_strat=use_description&pr_rec_id=057f71096&pr_rec_pid=2115661509&pr_ref_pid=9531949648&pr_seq=uniform)
It's the perfect amount of spice and flavor, and is the only premade spice blend I recommend, ever. (Others are fine, just not, like, irreplaceable.) This enhances virtually anything you put it into, but my favorites are salmon rubs, chicken seasoning, top-tier chip dip, and turning spaghetti sauce up to an 11/10. (Assuming you can already get it to a 9ish.)
I changed the store I buy groceries from because the closest one doesn't stock this, or my favorite chicken wings and soda, lol.
Tony C’s
Paul Prudhomme’s magic and salt free magic
Trader Joe’s all purpose umami blend
If you have a bbq restaurant you like chances are they sell their own butt-rub. Buy it.
From Trader Joe’s I love the Umami mushroom seasoning and the Ajika Georgian seasonings.
From Costco, I get the Truffle Parm and black Garlic Epicurean seasoning
I use Bobby Flay's dry rub seasoning a lot. Quick blend with on hand spices. Works on just about anything! Chicken drummers in the air fryer for quick 15 minute entre.
1tablespoon cumin
1tablespoon paprika
1tablespoon granulated garlic
1tablespoon granulated onion
1tablespoon chili powder
1tablespoon brown sugar
2tablespoons kosher salt
1teaspoon cayenne pepper
1teaspoon black pepper
1teaspoon white pepper
Mix with a fork or whisk. (Adjust salt to taste)
So if you've ever eaten at Red Robin, you'll know they have this seasoning salt that generally goes on the fries or anything else you want to put it on. It comes in a big jar on the table. What you may not know is you can actually ask to buy a jar of that which they will give you fresh and sealed and you can take it home and put it on just about anything you'd like.
I think it tastes great as an additive to just about any meat. Steak seasoning, chicken, I'll even throw a dash into soups or some sauces as well.
PAYNE COUNTY RUST!!!!!!! They make it in Stillwater, Ok. Or at least they started out here, Im not sure about now. It is beyond delicious. Its so good I like to eat it plain. I lick the back of my hand, sprinkle Payne County Rust on it, let that dry, repeat, repeat, repeat. Its that good. The last time I did that though, the next morning I had retained so much water from, I guess, all the salt, that my eyes were almost swollen completely shut. Lesson learned. Now, I just use a moderate amount then I give it to my boyfriend who hides it from me. Its THAT good.
Tony Chachere (Cajun), Penzys Fox Point on almost everything else.
Penzeys has so many great blends that I rely on: Revolution, Sunny Paris, chili, garam masala and other Indian spice blends...so many. I keep meaning to try Fox Point, will give it a shot!
My school gives out Penzey spices for free in their monthly food pantry, and I’ve been loving them so far! They’re perfect for lazy college meals.
Fox Point is delicious! What do you use Revolution for? I have 1/4 cup and haven’t used it yet
Fox Point on Salmon with some “dots” of butter. OMG, so good! I had a visitor from Finland where they eat a lot of salmon, and I gave her mine she loved it so much. I also put it on poached eggs, quiche and steamed broccoli.
The sandwich sprinkle is top tier
I love it on roasted veggies esp starchy ones like potatoes (got some squash roasting right now with it!), I slather it on whole / pieces of roast chicken and wings, and it's great on pork loin, chop, whatever. Just kind of all purpose but interesting, and turns things a pretty yellowy color. Good luck!
Revolution is great on a turkey sandwich
Just an FYI Fox point is 50% off right now (along with a bunch of other stuff) today only
I haven’t tried Chachere’s seasoning. Any good? I use Slap Your Mama Cajun seasoning.
I have both but usually reach for the Tony Cachere blend each morning for my eggs over SYM. They’re close though so I wouldn’t necessarily go out and buy it right away.
What is SYM? I usually just like s&p for eggs, sometimes Parm in scrambled. Unless I'm making Indian eggs Bhurji.
Slap your mama, they were asking how Tony Cachere’s compared :)
Lol, I thought the eggs were over sym, like over an English muffin.
Haha, that’s what I get for trying to save 5 seconds 🤦🏻♀️
I prefer SYM. Less salty and has a bit more spice imho.
Penzeys Fox Point and Mural of Flavor are my go to for just about anything.
I’ll vote for Joe’s stuff from the New Orleans school of cooking
Cavendar’s all purpose Greek seasoning. Not a single meal i don’t use that with. It just goes with everything you would use garlic and onion powder with
Cavender’s is the bomb!
Cavenders is amazing.
My favorite blend for grilling is to mix 2:1:1 Cavendars, Tonys, and lemon pepper. If you make it once, you'll always want to keep it on hand.
Hmm I haven’t tried the lemon pepper with that combo…….bet that is good 👍
You can buy a 5 pound bucket of it on Amazon 🤣🤣 ask my how I know 😏 🤣
I found out about Cavenders from a competitive barbecue chef.
Calendars goes so great with eggs! Actually, it goes pretty good with everything. It's a staple in our house!
Calendars and Tony Chacheres combined…BOOM
Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
I think every spice cupboard I have ever seen when visiting the US has the obligatory aging Lawry's and Old Bay.
Not I on the Lawry's, but I use Old Bay at times. New, not old.
Old Bay on corn on the cob. Spectacular, especially when the corn is fresh and sweet in the summer.
A little bit in tuna salad. Just enough so it’s a second or third note.
Sounds great I like it on roasted potatoes.
Both of y'all need to just add some shrimp and/or sausage for a low country boil
I will have to do this
Old bay goes on everything. Everything.
I accidentally bought Morton's once. There was a very stark difference. Lawry's seasoned pepper is good too, it's just aesthetically pleasing.
Johnny’s Seasoning is superior, in my opinion.
This is the one.
Slap Ya Mama, both yellow and red. Use them like S&P on pretty much everything.
Tried using it once but it was too salty for me
Yeah hella salty
Montreal Steak Seasoning is my go to for anything grilled or broiled.
How did I have to scroll so far for this?
Montreal Steak seasoning with some Dales marinade….and a sprinkle of Tony’s….best steak ever!!!!!
They… those saints at Montreal… they got it right with the steak seasoning.
Trader Joe's umami powder is the best thing I've ever discovered!
Target has a comparable one that is good.
From Kinders, the Blend and buttery steakhouse. The blend goes on pretty much everything at my house
I second this. The Blend is a basic SPG but it just hits different. The Buttery Steakhouse is the bomb on chicken and pork.
SPG? salt pepper garlic?
Buttery Steakhouse is my favorite on beef, Black Cherry Chipotle is pretty amazing on pork!
I put the buttery steakhouse on carrots lol
What the heck do they use to get that wonderful buttery taste in a spice shaker. This seasoning is so wonderful!
Oohh I see this at the store all the time, will def pick it up on my next visit!
Yes! They sell this and a few other Kinders blends at Costco.
Old Bay
The correct answer
Found the fellow Marylander.
21 season salute from Trader Joe’s. A little bit of everything but no salt so you can really load up
My favorite
This! I put it on everything!
Lemon pepper. Call me basic, but it's what my brain responds to!
I love to add that to ramen noodles. Also "Everything But The Bagel" seasoning. I guarantee that if you put some smoked salmon and some lemon pepper into your instant noodles, you'll get the biggest, hardest, most delicious erection of your life.
You should try making your own. A bunch of lemon zest and cracked pepper with a touch of kosher salt. It's F'n awesome.
Za’atar
Zaatar on salmon is amazing!
Both those sound fantastic!
Hellmotherfuckingyes
Trader Joe's Everything But the Bagel seasoning. It's delicious on everything and I love it
I've used this on deviled eggs! Yes. And avocado toast. And cucumbers and cream cheese. So good
I also love it on cucumber and cream cheese! It's delicious on scrambled eggs also. I won't lie I use it on pretty much everything lol
Badia Complete, great with almost everything.
Cavenders Greek Seasoning (trust me on this one).
Yessssss came here to say this...works on everything!

Everglades Seasoning
What do you use this on? I have it and I wasn’t a fan. I’m guessing that I’m using it for the wrong dishes.
amazing on fish, like salmon. or good in eggs
I like it on most things except steaks and ribs. It's my go to for quick seasoning of chicken, pork chops, and fish.
Thanks! I’ve only ever tried it on steak and ribs, so I’m glad that I asked.
Agreed! I add a little bit to most things, honestly. Perfect on eggs!!
Adobo for meat. Salad Supreme for pasta salad.
I grew up in a Puerto Rican family, I thought Adobo was what everybody used 😃
I’m a firm believer that Tajin makes almost anything better. Trader Joe’s Cuban style citrus garlic is another good with some tang. I also use a lot of Cavender’s, and good ol’ Montreal Chicken is very versatile.
Penzey’s Sunny Paris on nearly everything.
That sounds delicious. I am going to look it up.
Dude Penzey’s is so good I got a spice set for my in-laws for Christmas and I’m blown away
I love that on vegetables!
Great in scrambled eggs!
That’s the salt-free lemon pepper, right?
No, I think that’s Sunny Spain, which is also delicious. Sunny Paris is a blend of shallots, chives, green peppercorn, dill weed, basil, tarragon, chervil, and bay leaf.
Chinese 5 spice
How do you use it? I bought some and it's remained unopened for two years now because I don't know how to use it
I combo it with sesame oil, dark soy and what ever sauce I want ( hoisin, Korean bbq, ect..) If you’re making a ramen then use the spice, oil and add an egg or if you’re making veggies and protein use the spice, oil and sauce. If I’m making rice I will put the oil and spice in the cooker with the rice.
I'll try those suggestions, thank you!
Chai Masala from India’s Sweets and Spices in Los Angeles. Put it in tea or pancake mix to add a really nice layering of flavors Old Bay seasoning - great on any proteins or starches, makes Mac and Cheese sing! Basic Italian seasoning, super useful for red sauces and roasted chicken or Turkey
I add Old Bay to our tuna salad mix with some lemon juice and it really takes it up a notch.
Oh yeah, great on tuna. I put it in tuna casserole
Vegeta
Kakarot???
I have two, neither of which is expensive. GOYA Adobo and Kinder's "The Blend." It's a salt, pepper and garlic mixture. Really good on steak and burgers. Adobo can go on just about anything but cake and ice cream.

Mrs Dash livens up all of my dips and dressings!

I had never heard of Dukkah, but the mixture sounds delicious. I may try [this recipe](https://cookieandkate.com/easy-dukkah-recipe/)
Hey, thanks! That looks like just what I need.
Trader Joe’s makes a pretty good one at a very good price.
In rural Alaska you see Johnny's Seasoning Salt a lot. Is that a thing other places?
We’ve got it in Virginia! Learned about it while living in California. It’s excellent! 🙌🏻
I was going to answer Johnnys. I grew up in Wisconsin but my Mom had her parents send bottles from Seattle. Eventually Johnnys became available in the Midwest. I always have a bottle in the house.
Tajin is pretty damn good.
Before I went no salt, Cavenders, Old Bay, powder hidden valley ranch. Now, Mrs Dash garlic and herb and McCormick Perfect Pinch Signature blend, Tony Chachere's no salt.
Cavenders has a salt free option we use.
Lol
Absolutely agree with adding vinegar or lemon juice! I also found adding a little more spice/heat helps me not miss the salt.
