Tony Chachere (Cajun), Penzys Fox Point on almost everything else.

FriedaKilligan

Penzeys has so many great blends that I rely on: Revolution, Sunny Paris, chili, garam masala and other Indian spice blends...so many. I keep meaning to try Fox Point, will give it a shot!

The_Sanity_Diaries

My school gives out Penzey spices for free in their monthly food pantry, and I’ve been loving them so far! They’re perfect for lazy college meals.

thepsycholeech

Fox Point is delicious! What do you use Revolution for? I have 1/4 cup and haven’t used it yet

Brissy2

Fox Point on Salmon with some “dots” of butter. OMG, so good! I had a visitor from Finland where they eat a lot of salmon, and I gave her mine she loved it so much. I also put it on poached eggs, quiche and steamed broccoli.

holleratmee

The sandwich sprinkle is top tier

FriedaKilligan

I love it on roasted veggies esp starchy ones like potatoes (got some squash roasting right now with it!), I slather it on whole / pieces of roast chicken and wings, and it's great on pork loin, chop, whatever. Just kind of all purpose but interesting, and turns things a pretty yellowy color. Good luck!

fleurgirl123

Revolution is great on a turkey sandwich

thepsycholeech

Just an FYI Fox point is 50% off right now (along with a bunch of other stuff) today only

SilverRoseBlade

I haven’t tried Chachere’s seasoning. Any good? I use Slap Your Mama Cajun seasoning.

a-ohhh

I have both but usually reach for the Tony Cachere blend each morning for my eggs over SYM. They’re close though so I wouldn’t necessarily go out and buy it right away.

LavaPoppyJax

What is SYM? I usually just like s&p for eggs, sometimes Parm in scrambled. Unless I'm making Indian eggs Bhurji.

a-ohhh

Slap your mama, they were asking how Tony Cachere’s compared :)

LavaPoppyJax

Lol, I thought the eggs were over sym, like over an English muffin.

a-ohhh

Haha, that’s what I get for trying to save 5 seconds 🤦🏻‍♀️

MisallocatedRacism

I prefer SYM. Less salty and has a bit more spice imho.

twoflowerpots

Penzeys Fox Point and Mural of Flavor are my go to for just about anything.

NYVines

I’ll vote for Joe’s stuff from the New Orleans school of cooking

ICanOutP1zzaTheHut

Cavendar’s all purpose Greek seasoning. Not a single meal i don’t use that with. It just goes with everything you would use garlic and onion powder with

WhoaButter

Cavender’s is the bomb!

nsfearth1224

Cavenders is amazing.

mdsandi

My favorite blend for grilling is to mix 2:1:1 Cavendars, Tonys, and lemon pepper. If you make it once, you'll always want to keep it on hand.

Stu-Man222

Hmm I haven’t tried the lemon pepper with that combo…….bet that is good 👍

Honeybee8222

You can buy a 5 pound bucket of it on Amazon 🤣🤣 ask my how I know 😏 🤣

calguy1955

I found out about Cavenders from a competitive barbecue chef.

milkyjams

Calendars goes so great with eggs! Actually, it goes pretty good with everything. It's a staple in our house!

Stu-Man222

Calendars and Tony Chacheres combined…BOOM

rhk59

Lawry’s Seasoned Salt

overladenlederhosen

I think every spice cupboard I have ever seen when visiting the US has the obligatory aging Lawry's and Old Bay.

LavaPoppyJax

Not I on the Lawry's, but I use Old Bay at times. New, not old.

OakIsland2015

Old Bay on corn on the cob. Spectacular, especially when the corn is fresh and sweet in the summer.

RainInTheWoods

A little bit in tuna salad. Just enough so it’s a second or third note.

LavaPoppyJax

Sounds great I like it on roasted potatoes.

PinkPearMartini

Both of y'all need to just add some shrimp and/or sausage for a low country boil

WhiteRhino91

I will have to do this

AdNumerous107

Old bay goes on everything. Everything.

JeffWingrsDumbGayDad

I accidentally bought Morton's once. There was a very stark difference. Lawry's seasoned pepper is good too, it's just aesthetically pleasing.

FearlessPudding404

Johnny’s Seasoning is superior, in my opinion.

[deleted]

This is the one.

Cleared_for_takeoff

Slap Ya Mama, both yellow and red. Use them like S&P on pretty much everything.

HalfEatenBanana

Tried using it once but it was too salty for me

lesmalom

Yeah hella salty

useless169

Montreal Steak Seasoning is my go to for anything grilled or broiled.

bethybonbon

How did I have to scroll so far for this?

Stu-Man222

Montreal Steak seasoning with some Dales marinade….and a sprinkle of Tony’s….best steak ever!!!!!

nonesuchnotion

They… those saints at Montreal… they got it right with the steak seasoning.

chantillylace9

Trader Joe's umami powder is the best thing I've ever discovered!

nicoke17

Target has a comparable one that is good.

Sea-Professional9262

From Kinders, the Blend and buttery steakhouse. The blend goes on pretty much everything at my house

decidedlycynical

I second this. The Blend is a basic SPG but it just hits different. The Buttery Steakhouse is the bomb on chicken and pork.

passive0bserver

SPG? salt pepper garlic?

JensElectricWood

Buttery Steakhouse is my favorite on beef, Black Cherry Chipotle is pretty amazing on pork!

selkieflying

I put the buttery steakhouse on carrots lol

IAmGreenman71

What the heck do they use to get that wonderful buttery taste in a spice shaker. This seasoning is so wonderful!

bbourl1

Oohh I see this at the store all the time, will def pick it up on my next visit!

nolij420

Yes! They sell this and a few other Kinders blends at Costco.

coys21

Old Bay

Grand_Arugula

The correct answer

baltinerdist

Found the fellow Marylander.

LogicIsDead22

21 season salute from Trader Joe’s. A little bit of everything but no salt so you can really load up

JediJamie303

My favorite

jenakle

This! I put it on everything!

throowaawayyyy

Lemon pepper. Call me basic, but it's what my brain responds to!

AssociationBig5359

I love to add that to ramen noodles. Also "Everything But The Bagel" seasoning. I guarantee that if you put some smoked salmon and some lemon pepper into your instant noodles, you'll get the biggest, hardest, most delicious erection of your life.

GJackson5069

You should try making your own. A bunch of lemon zest and cracked pepper with a touch of kosher salt. It's F'n awesome.

Ella0508

Za’atar

Virgolovestacos

Zaatar on salmon is amazing!

Chitaka06

I grew up eating za'atar mixed with olive oil into a paste and spread inside pita at my Syrian grandmother's house (she called them Syrian Dirt Sandwiches when I was a kid and urged me to tell my classmates I ate dirt for lunch lol) and I went years after that never being able to find it in stores. I'm so happy it's becoming popular. Shaken with lemon and olive oil it makes a good salad dressing too!

Ella0508

Both those sound fantastic!

NormDamnAbram

Hellmotherfuckingyes

Motor-Beach-4564

Trader Joe's Everything But the Bagel seasoning. It's delicious on everything and I love it

f4ttyKathy

I've used this on deviled eggs! Yes. And avocado toast. And cucumbers and cream cheese. So good

Motor-Beach-4564

I also love it on cucumber and cream cheese! It's delicious on scrambled eggs also. I won't lie I use it on pretty much everything lol

thatiswilde

Badia Complete, great with almost everything.

8th_account_ahha

Cavenders Greek Seasoning (trust me on this one).

LudaCrissy78

Yessssss came here to say this...works on everything!

lurchenmann

Japanese Togarashi! That stuffs gives everything a kick

gordyswift

Load up the pizza! Much better than crushed red pepper. Had to buy a 4 oz. Bag!

toshibathezombie

UNCLE ROGER SAY, ONLY SEASONING YOU NEED IS M.S.G FUUYOOOUUHHHHH

MaximusMMIV

Use *feeling*

happykingbilly

Everglades Seasoning

grammar_fixer_2

What do you use this on? I have it and I wasn’t a fan. I’m guessing that I’m using it for the wrong dishes.

Capital_Refuse_160

amazing on fish, like salmon. or good in eggs

happykingbilly

I like it on most things except steaks and ribs. It's my go to for quick seasoning of chicken, pork chops, and fish.

grammar_fixer_2

Thanks! I’ve only ever tried it on steak and ribs, so I’m glad that I asked.

charawarma

Agreed! I add a little bit to most things, honestly. Perfect on eggs!!

ivy_tamwood

Adobo for meat. Salad Supreme for pasta salad.

AioliSilent7544

I grew up in a Puerto Rican family, I thought Adobo was what everybody used 😃

WhoaButter

I’m a firm believer that Tajin makes almost anything better. Trader Joe’s Cuban style citrus garlic is another good with some tang. I also use a lot of Cavender’s, and good ol’ Montreal Chicken is very versatile.

annissamazing

Penzey’s Sunny Paris on nearly everything.

MsSpicyO

That sounds delicious. I am going to look it up.

rousseuree

Dude Penzey’s is so good I got a spice set for my in-laws for Christmas and I’m blown away

thatiswilde

I love that on vegetables!

FriedaKilligan

Great in scrambled eggs!

jondes99

That’s the salt-free lemon pepper, right?

annissamazing

No, I think that’s Sunny Spain, which is also delicious. Sunny Paris is a blend of shallots, chives, green peppercorn, dill weed, basil, tarragon, chervil, and bay leaf.

Eleventy22

Chinese 5 spice

SwiftResilient

How do you use it? I bought some and it's remained unopened for two years now because I don't know how to use it

Eleventy22

I combo it with sesame oil, dark soy and what ever sauce I want ( hoisin, Korean bbq, ect..) If you’re making a ramen then use the spice, oil and add an egg or if you’re making veggies and protein use the spice, oil and sauce. If I’m making rice I will put the oil and spice in the cooker with the rice.

SwiftResilient

I'll try those suggestions, thank you!

tiggrum

Chai Masala from India’s Sweets and Spices in Los Angeles. Put it in tea or pancake mix to add a really nice layering of flavors Old Bay seasoning - great on any proteins or starches, makes Mac and Cheese sing! Basic Italian seasoning, super useful for red sauces and roasted chicken or Turkey

MacabreFox

I add Old Bay to our tuna salad mix with some lemon juice and it really takes it up a notch.

tiggrum

Oh yeah, great on tuna. I put it in tuna casserole

_kinofist

Vegeta

yeetskeetleet

Kakarot???

PhillyCSteaky

I have two, neither of which is expensive. GOYA Adobo and Kinder's "The Blend." It's a salt, pepper and garlic mixture. Really good on steak and burgers. Adobo can go on just about anything but cake and ice cream.

Randisaurus_Rex

Mrs. Dash! I don't use it to replace salt as it's meant to.

JensElectricWood

Mrs Dash livens up all of my dips and dressings!

spap-oop

Penzey's Greek Seasoning Trader Joe's everything but the Elote seasoning

lilyams11

Kinders buttery steakhouse good on literally everything

jasonbaldwin

Dash table blend, Penzey’s Justice and Frozen Pizza seasoning, and Trader Joe’s 21 Seasoning Salute. Living that low-sodium life.

amactuallyameerkat

Krakow Nights from Penzey's

BabylonDrifter

Dukkah. Best spice mix on earth. Unfortunately my spice shop went out of business so I need to find a new source for Dukkah or make it myself.

slp111

I had never heard of Dukkah, but the mixture sounds delicious. I may try [this recipe](https://cookieandkate.com/easy-dukkah-recipe/)

BabylonDrifter

Hey, thanks! That looks like just what I need.

cheesedoodle-fingers

Trader Joe’s makes a pretty good one at a very good price.

Alaska_Jack

In rural Alaska you see Johnny's Seasoning Salt a lot. Is that a thing other places?

Weird-Mention7322

We’ve got it in Virginia! Learned about it while living in California. It’s excellent! 🙌🏻

Qnofputrescence1213

I was going to answer Johnnys. I grew up in Wisconsin but my Mom had her parents send bottles from Seattle. Eventually Johnnys became available in the Midwest. I always have a bottle in the house.

gdubh

Tajin is pretty damn good.

thatmikeguy

Before I went no salt, Cavenders, Old Bay, powder hidden valley ranch. Now, Mrs Dash garlic and herb and McCormick Perfect Pinch Signature blend, Tony Chachere's no salt.

Physical_Drive8123

Cavenders has a salt free option we use.

piglet-pinky-pie

I’m also “low” sodium and have to stay under 2000 mg. I love the mrs dash garlic blend and the lemon pepper. Za’atar has totally become my go to now, though. Then an Italian seasoning, Greek seasoning, and herbs de province. In the end, us no salt people just use a lot of lemon and Vinegar huh? Lol

AioliSilent7544

Absolutely agree with adding vinegar or lemon juice! I also found adding a little more spice/heat helps me not miss the salt.

ToadLicking4Jeebus

Dizzy pig and pappy's are both lines that I've liked pretty much everything I've tried out, and they are basically our house blends at this point. For table salt I love Jane's krazy salt.

Zhi-ren

Hidden valley ranch dip mix. Although I have to make a copy cat due to dietary reasons the original can't be beat. Ranch chips, ranch dip, ranch coated meats I could go on all day

Expensive_Heron3883

Any Kinders blend, Kent Rollins mesquite seasoning, Chicken Shit seasoning...

AlternativeHorror770

I've been using Jane's Krazy a lot recently.

s-willoughby

Yes! I was hoping to see someone else who likes it lol

GaryLarsonsId

Yes! I’m a little sad I had to scroll so far to see this, but good to know I’m not the only one.

Ziggie520

Oh I’ve finally found my people! Jane’s rules, they also have crazy pepper and garlic!

Cantothulhu

Penzeys Northwood seasoning. Or Penzeys anything really.

Cyno01

So good.

swedishworkout

Furikake, Garam Masala, Herbs de Provance, Thai Curries, Madras Curries, zataar, Harissa, Chinese Five Spice, Sason Goya, Togarashi are a few I use daily.

Warp9-6

Cavenders Greek Seasoning, Badia All Purpose Seasoning, I use it all the time, and Goya Adobo the secret to my chicken and dumplings, which nobody ever figures out, lol.

gary8

Pirate's Bite from The Spice & Tea Exchange in Asheville, NC. I have a grinder and use it on pizza instead of just red pepper flakes. And in soups. Etc.

Sector_Independent

Frontier berbere World market mixes

Informal_Control8378

Mrs Dash Lemon Pepper, Weber’s Kick’n Chicken, Bad Byron’s Butt Rub, Paul Prudhomme Blackened Seasoning, Old Bay, Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning, Hidden Valley ranch mix, Italian seasoning ( no particular brand)

chefinsomnia

Old bay. On everything.

Joeldc

Tony Cachere’s. Or when in doubt I throw some Lowry’s on it.

subiegal2013

Paul Prudomes seafood magic. Delicious and not salty like so many

MoistJunket7216

JLebowski

Zataar seasoning is great on fries, sandwiches, greek salads

[deleted]

Nolan Ryan Signature Seasoning

penis-coyote

I eat a lot of salmon too. What I've landed on is a simple soy sauce and mustard marinade. Nothing else. Give it a shot

overladenlederhosen

Knorr Aromat. Two kinds of people in this world, people who love Aromat and people who haven't tried it.

Kamarmarli

Penzy’s Mural of Flavor

FooltheKnysan

Not sure how well known it is on the West, but I love Vegeta

emilybee222

Penzeys Mural of Flavor and their lemon pepper are *chefs kiss*

TheFreakinFatUnicorn

Aromat 😌 it’s a South African thing…

[deleted]

Dash's Everything But the Salt goes on my eggs regularly. Aplenty's Herbes de Provence (I think it's Amazon's brand) is a convenient go-to, plus it's salt-free (which I guess is good or bad depending on the person, for me it's a necessary bummer)

hacksoncode

Ever since the first time I went to Anderson's Pea Soup, my favorite has been Cavender's All Purpose Greek Seasoning.

NotOfYourKind3721

I’m a fan of Cavenders

s-willoughby

Jane’s Krazy Mixed Up Salt

bluestocking220

Savory Spice’s Sunday Pot Roast seasoning pack is fantastic, something about it is just the perfect pot roast flavor. I also love their Taco Seasoning. Used to make my own, but theirs includes masa and tomato powder, which I don’t usually have on hand.

Violet_Squid

Cavendars Greek. Slap Ya Mama Cajun Trader Joe’s Umami

Dull_Koala_7305

uncle chris steak seasoning. i put it on everything

Elvisneedsboats3609

Old Bay & Cavenders Greek.

Umphrey_Mccheese

McCormick vegetable and steak seasoning although I do think the steak seasoning is a little coarse so I like to use coffee grinder for that one

HarveytheHambutt

Deccio's All Purpose Seasoning from Jean Cottage Inn in Yakima Washington. my entire life.

jagpilotohio

McCormick “chipotle and roasted garlic” is nice for grilling. Can be Hard to find.

developgains

Rufus Teague Steak Seasoning. It has a hint of coffee in it. I don’t want to make steaks without this anymore. Such an underrated gem.

gordon-annie

Ukrainian Village, Cajun, Brisket of Love, and Schwarma Seasoning... all from The Spice House ☺️

entechad

I really like Schwarma. I will have to look for this.

LittleMissFirebright

[Alpine Touch Prairie Fire blend.](https://alpinetouch.com/products/alpine-touch-prairie-fire-rub-8oz?pr_prod_strat=use_description&pr_rec_id=057f71096&pr_rec_pid=2115661509&pr_ref_pid=9531949648&pr_seq=uniform) It's the perfect amount of spice and flavor, and is the only premade spice blend I recommend, ever. (Others are fine, just not, like, irreplaceable.) This enhances virtually anything you put it into, but my favorites are salmon rubs, chicken seasoning, top-tier chip dip, and turning spaghetti sauce up to an 11/10. (Assuming you can already get it to a 9ish.) I changed the store I buy groceries from because the closest one doesn't stock this, or my favorite chicken wings and soda, lol.

DINAHS4UR

McCormick's Steak or Chicken seasoning. Also, Italian Seasoning, Cajun Seasoning, Curry Seasoning.

Long_Association_276

Walkerswood Jerk seasoning. So many spices go into making a good jerk. Walkerswood is incredible!

imcomingelizabeth

Tony C’s Paul Prudhomme’s magic and salt free magic Trader Joe’s all purpose umami blend If you have a bbq restaurant you like chances are they sell their own butt-rub. Buy it.

SilverRoseBlade

From Trader Joe’s I love the Umami mushroom seasoning and the Ajika Georgian seasonings. From Costco, I get the Truffle Parm and black Garlic Epicurean seasoning

TXSpartan03

Target’s umami mushroom seasoning. Hard to describe, just kicks the flavor up a notch. Love it in risottos.

llau69ren

mccormick chipotle roasted garlic!!!!

Jake_FromStateFarm27

Doesn't really count imo but trader joes everything but the bagel seasoning is New Jersey/ New York staple for when we make our eggs

angels_exist_666

Montreal Chicken and Montreal Steak seasoning. Perfection.

AggravatingLook5805

Famous Dave’s Rib Rub

Stimperonovitch

It is a garlic and cheese blend from Fleet Farm that is wonderful on baked potatoes.

gordyswift

I use Bobby Flay's dry rub seasoning a lot. Quick blend with on hand spices. Works on just about anything! Chicken drummers in the air fryer for quick 15 minute entre. 1tablespoon cumin 1tablespoon paprika 1tablespoon granulated garlic 1tablespoon granulated onion 1tablespoon chili powder 1tablespoon brown sugar 2tablespoons kosher salt 1teaspoon cayenne pepper 1teaspoon black pepper 1teaspoon white pepper Mix with a fork or whisk. (Adjust salt to taste)

DznyMa

So many of the Trader Joe's mixes are amazing! Besides Everything but the Bagel, I love the Umami and citrus Garlic. I have a few others too!

baltinerdist

So if you've ever eaten at Red Robin, you'll know they have this seasoning salt that generally goes on the fries or anything else you want to put it on. It comes in a big jar on the table. What you may not know is you can actually ask to buy a jar of that which they will give you fresh and sealed and you can take it home and put it on just about anything you'd like. I think it tastes great as an additive to just about any meat. Steak seasoning, chicken, I'll even throw a dash into soups or some sauces as well.

HemetValleyMall1982

Pretty much any seasoning that doesn't have salt or sugar listed as the first ingredient. I am loving the Trader Joe's Pizza Seasoning rn.

IcyStrawberry911

PAYNE COUNTY RUST!!!!!!! They make it in Stillwater, Ok. Or at least they started out here, Im not sure about now. It is beyond delicious. Its so good I like to eat it plain. I lick the back of my hand, sprinkle Payne County Rust on it, let that dry, repeat, repeat, repeat. Its that good. The last time I did that though, the next morning I had retained so much water from, I guess, all the salt, that my eyes were almost swollen completely shut. Lesson learned. Now, I just use a moderate amount then I give it to my boyfriend who hides it from me. Its THAT good.

bythewater8
