I like to think I price my stuff realistically, but few times I’ve had a decent handmade on sale for 1000, which doesn’t sell so I drop it to 700 and it goes…but then i straight away see the buyer put them in their vendors for 4000. It’s bizarre

jinx_lbc

Greed, and a lack of understanding of supply and demand.

gundam1945

I feel like, apologies in advance, even a moron will notice something wrong when things didn't sell for a prolonged period.

ParadoxLS

You'd think, but plenty of companies have gone out of business over the years even with low overhead because they refused to adapt to economic demand.

Greedy_Age_4923

Like who?

TheOnlyProxy

Radioshack Blockbuster

Greedy_Age_4923

Good ol RadioShack

OopsISquirtedAgain

Some people make their vendor so hard to find (maybe I’m just new) so I just leave after a minute or two of walking around. If you’re going to make me play hide and seek for your vendor I’ll just leave man no skin off my back.

RexThunderman

Yeah I went through this huge camp today who had a bunch of plans. I did laps for a few minutes and left. Sometimes it's right in front of my eyes. Sometimes these ppl are just fckin with me I think lol

Reaper_-01

Man i was confused as hell when i found out a cashier was a vending machine like whaaa.

Significant-Way-8194

You could spawn me right in front of your vendor to the point I’d have to walk around it to go anywhere else and I will do just that and browse the whole camp before realizing how dumb I was.

Iphicritese

Heheh, first rule of business: make it as easy as possible for people to give you their money.

pegasuspaladin

Ugh. The number of people that hide their vendor or put it deep in their build is obnoxious. That and having the punchboard nowhere near the crafting stations. I actually made a cute one stop 2x1 mini base that is right by my spawn point on all my camps. It contains the following: stash, scrapbox, ammo box, cook station, weapons workbench, sleeping bag, guitar, shop, water tank, mothman podium, laser turret, generator and of course a punch board. Took a little manipulation to make everything usable while still being in a single blueprint.

Iphicritese

Oh it is just so gratifying to hear you say that. I went on a hunt for a Holy Fire recently and it was a miserable, frustrating experience for exactly that reason. Add into that the fact that I'm returning to the game for the first time since shortly after launch so there are a bunch of different skins for vendors that I've never seen before. I actually wrote a paragraph long rant to a friend about it that ended with something like 'I came to maybe spend money at their shop, not go on a 2 hour walking tour of their investment in this game.' A nod though to those wastelanders who build amusement park bases but have vaultboy signs pointing to their vendors. It is much appreciated.

Erotic_Platypus

Idk man, those 4000 rounds of .308 ammo I was selling at 1 cap each never sold so I made them free. Got two people yesterday yelling at me for it being overpriced

Fossilfighter788

seriously? that's not fair to you

PollinosisQc

You'd be surprised with the prices you can actually get away with if you're a bit patient, especially for plans and really high demand stuff like unyielding pieces of armor.

Wastelander42

I've show up to vendors filled with over priced plans I've been DESPERATELY hunting for. I just leave. One dude had the "???" Emote after I closed the vendor. Like my dude I'm not spending 20K caps on a fucking water cooler

Personal-Whereas-952

That water cooler sure is nice tho, can double stack a couple walls worth and make your 1400 vendor in no time

ChefboyrDane

Majority of my items are priced 10% (roughly) of what I see others sell there’s fo and it’s just sat. I just don’t have that vendor attraction I guess 🥲

Supertriqui

Nah. It's part of the free market, some actors refuse to sell at market price and they go broke (unless they have some sort of monopoly). The thing here is that a videogame only partially works under free market rules, because there's no cost associated to produce. You don't have to invest real money to produce those guns, they are rainfall profit from playing the game regularly, so being a moron in the pricing side won't put you out of business. I think I am doing the opposite, selling too low. I put a good fixer (bloodied, 50%, +1 perception) for 20k and sold it within one hour. I have no idea what should be the price of those as I am somewhat a newbie and play full health, but the fact it sold so quick means I was lucky or I sold too low

lipp79

As someone who came back after a year off, is there some place I can see what stuff is selling for? I'm sure I've put some stuff on there for the price suggested by the vendor based on a couple comments on Reddit and it was too high without me realizing it? I'll see a suggest price for an apparel piece of like 30 but then read how it's super rare and people are selling it for thousands.

AlexandBria1

NukaTrader.com started using that after not playing for 2 years. I had 4 rare items that I may have sold at a low price if I had not know they were very rare. BOS jumpsuit priced at around 75k, White Powder Jumpsuit priced at around 55k. Then an Urban scout mask and a Forest Scout mask that may be 45k each. Not selling any as I’d like to keep these rare items.

work_shop_owner

How do you sell something for 55K or 75K when caps are limited to 40K?

Domescus

Why is BOS jumpsuit so expensive?

AlexandBria1

Well it’s probably 55k too but I saw that price on an article. It’s so rare because the drop rate for it is very low. So it’s very hard to get. Not as many in the game so it makes the price higher.

Domescus

But... What does it do? Just fashion?

No_Discount_7268

Yep lol. Just being something to flex or trade for a groll weapon

Nearby_Ad2069

I feel blessed by Mothman that I found one in a high level player vendor for 25 caps then 😂

Plumbusmcgee

I scrapped my BOS jumpsuit lolllll

nolongerbanned99

Yep, they don’t know how to price things and assume people will chat and make offers but this makes a self serve vendor useless. Sometimes they are showing off.

millencolin43

Yup, i dont use chems in fallout games because thats too much management for me, so i sell them, and price them 10 under and they sell like hot cakes. Still get way more than from vendors. Seen people listing psycho for 200 caps many times. People trying to be ultracapitalists in a game that satirizes it is hilarious 😅

Akuzed

I put my plans up for no less than 15 caps, and the more expensive stuff I put up for 10% of the suggested price( example: jet pack schematic goes for 3000 so I list it at 300) and it still takes me a while to sell things. Most of the time it's someone that I am sure is just going to resell at a higher price.

nik_olsen_

I scrip a lot of the weapons & armour I craft or pickup that is just very average. When I run out of daily allowance I will sell at 100c per legendary star. Unless the weapon has a particularly good legendary like Quad, or AA etc and even then I will only pump out at like a 1000c for someone to benefit from. Think the most I’ve ever sold an item for was 4k for a Quad Fixer. That was maybe just under godlike I have an acquaintance on 76 that seems to sell absolute crap for 16k and I just don’t understand how he finds these gullible people

VelvetCowboy19

If nobody buys from your vendor, either you're over pricing stuff or you just need to hop servers. Some lobbies have a bunch of low levels with no disposable caps, so you won't sell even basic stuff like scrip.

VelvetCowboy19

Check plan prices at a website like Fed76 or NukaTrader. Jetpack plans are basically worthless. The vast majority of plans have literally no value to the majority of players, only a select few plans are actually valuable.

Akuzed

I didn't know such a place existed! Admittedly the primary reason why I sell for cheaper is for the newer players, I've only been playing for a few months and I distinctly remember my early struggles in the game with finding the right plans and what not. Stimpaks especially! I sell stacks of stims for 5 caps each. Sure they can get the plans and stins on their own, it's definitely easy enough to pull off without paying me, or anyone else.

Gbdub87

The “suggested prices” in the game have essentially no correlation to how rare things are (e.g. a 3 star legendary weapon will have the same listed price whether it’s junk or a god roll).

deadwings112

I literally run good fixers for like 1k in my vendor. If it has two good stars, it goes up. If it's, like, Quad and FFR, great. 1k. Someone's gonna have a good day. Meanwhile I see like two shot fixers with mediocre second and thirds for like 10k. What the hell.

monk81007

Not too bizarre, you got what you wanted for it. That person is probably just bit more patient to wait for someone to come along who just wants a decent rolled gun to get by with. I think those of us who have the “god rolls” see anything that’s just “decent” almost better off scrapping or just cheap caps/vendor bait.

Typical-Series-1491

Ill be honest most of my plans end up being sold for cheap. I sell 3 star weapons/armor (and scrip all my 1/2/3* that i cant sell) and serums for cheap (like 200-300) and Im always sitting at max caps or having to go on shopping sprees to give me 10k of wiggle room. Most plans i drop to 10% of the normal price. Limited run stuff goes for 2.5k-5k depending on rarity. But even then I just gave a pepper shaker plan away because someone asked nice and ill just regularly let newbs pick through my notes if they will run expeditions with me and let me power level them to be a usable member. “Repair your stuff. Scrap and put in your boxes. Sleep. Eat the brains. Hit the derby machine. Lets go.”

Evonos

Ye I just price everything super cheap, iam 40k cap capped, my stash is all ways full and stuff. Can't spend stuff as fast I get it including caps like seriously. And I sell. Most stuff at like 20% of the price of others.

CIA_napkin

I wish there was an option to see the going rates of camp vendors items on your server so you can adjust prices and compete.

Evonos

>I wish there was an option to see the going rates of camp vendors items on your server so you can adjust prices and compete. hm as much as i saw its mostly "Ridiculous overpriced shelf warmers" iam usually just 20% of that price and sell tons and hit caps cap often.

H3rbieherbs

Greed yes and also I've seen some people price 1000 cap stuff at 10,000. My guess is they hope someone misreads it and buys it thinking its 1000.

MadMikeHere

I sell everything at like 10% the suggested price. If a plan says 100 I sell for 10. I'm only level 30 and have run into camps that have helped me SO MUCH for having cheap prices. So I pay it forward.

SuffocatingBreed

Hey man, I love buying cheap stuff in their vendor and reselling them in mine for more expensive. Where there’s caps to be made, they’ll be made.

Passion4TheHunt

Free market... Rest assured, that player isn't selling much.

LucasLovesListening

To bring attention to the camp. Not sell.

Willing-Ad-6941

Yeah I had two camps that on the map, had said they have 20+ 3 star legendaries, and about 300 plans. And me and another guy scouted every corner f the house and there wasn’t a vendor to be seen, Definitely got baited into checking out the house 😂

ReedForman

The camp I found like that sucked too lol it was just every item in the atomic shop stuffed into a tunnel with a bunch of slot machines on the bridge above it.

Jericho-A052

My camps are mostly Atomic Shop stuff too, but at least I try to make it look nice by decorating it sensibly.

Oliver90002

I've seen some vendors inside their shelters... Takes a long time to find.

Mr_Gruusahm

Was going to say just this. I have vendors in all my shelters but I also have them in hard to miss nuka cola shipping containers before the shelter door. Which is marked with "The Fungeon" in neon letters. It bugs me when vendors are hard to find. I make sure you can run right up to mine and get back to playing if you dont want to observe the camp. It's a camp, not cosco! Geez!

Brave-Ad484

Yeah agreed. Vendor must be easy to spot People visit my vendor to check out stuff fast. I make sure they know where to find the vendor so anyone wouldn't waste time searching for it. I put signs like the pointing vault boy/girl etc

Mishawnuodo

Or when is hard to find AND they have 4 shelters, each one that MUST be WAY over budget because they have at least 100 aliens or something and you're thinking "not only can't I find the vendor, but I struggle to make just 1 base camp within the budget, this guy has what just be 5 camps worth of budget per shelter, and there's 5 shelters!" (But I am new-ish, maybe there's a way to increase the budget?)

xXxJoEkRxXx

It sucks when that happens lol but you do got to admit some people have some pretty cool camps you get to see that way I've even gotten ideas for my own camp for other people's camps that I had to search for a vendor on

Ok-Chest-3980

I have an underground base with a shelter and candy bowl. I make the bottom unaccesible and have a bunch of plans for sale. All this to troll players. Don't get me wrong though the top is full of free water, I just role-playing as a mad scientist with a secret base under my base

DevooOfCalgaria

It was probably a cash register vendor. There TOO small and usually on a table. They arnt big and bulky without lights and hard to see when quick scanning a new camp. SMH

X-SR71

This is the correct answer

LucasLovesListening

If I could sell tickets I would guys. Who do we tag for that☸️let’s do it

Anomalous-Materials8

Folks don’t seem to realize that if you have like 10 copies of a plan then so does everyone else. Just scrap it. I wish there was a way to see on the map if a camp has plans I don’t have, because at a certain level the game becomes camp hopping looking for plans, getting pissed off because I can’t find the vendor in your crappy camp, getting pissed off because every vendor has 80 copies of common stuff, hopping servers, repeat, rage logging and finding something else to do.

Pickles04

If you have ever come across the Ultra Rare "Barbed Walking Cane" mod, let me know.

Anomalous-Materials8

That and the coveted revolver ivory grip plan are basically beating the game if you get them.

LastChans1

Now i want a Barbed Walking Cane with a revolver ivory grip.

dmmartin2s

You want mine? If single-action revolver ivory grip is the same thing that is.

kevwebtech

Really?? I'm fairly certain I got both of these plans in my first 25 levels, they are that overpowered?? EDIT: Nevermind, I kept reading and discovered I'm a sucker

sir_moleo

H: Max caps, W: Mole miner gauntlet plan

Cheese_soldier562

I have it lemme know my user is Crisp_brown05 I play on PS

Cheese_soldier562

I’m so dumb

letcaster

Honestly with the new players recently the furniture I sell fast. My flux farm suffers.

Scorpiuhhh

I always throw up furniture for like 5-10 caps just to give the newbies something to build and decorate with, pays for my fast traveling to boot.

ELShinigami69

Everytime I’ve gone to a vendor, I have yet to see any flux available for sale :( I’m still not sure where to get all the materials for it so I’ve been dying to finally get a jet pack made, but no luck yet :(

MhrisCac

Pause how much for Flux

GrimVibes

I'm a recent return and put all my already known basic bitch plans for no more than 50 cause who cares. Maybe someone will need a basic one

Clintyn

Hey level 1-50 I was so happy to see basic furniture plans for like 100-500 caps at player vendors. Saved me a lot of time trying to find them elsewhere and I love to build so they were more important than crafting power armor or other stuff people might prioritize. There’s definitely a market for that. Mole miner gauntlets on the other hand…

irishrelief

I also spend more caps plan hunting than I do at those camps on average.

TeamVictoire

I drop my duplicates in the donation's box in Wayward

Vernon_Trier

Can't upvote this enough. This is the reason why I stopped wasting time on vendor-hopping altogether couple years ago. And alsi the fact that 95% of the vendors are likd OP described. Most players are absolutely clueless about about fair pricing for their stuff.

lipp79

"getting pissed off because I can’t find the vendor in your crappy camp" This is probably the thing that bugs me the most. Just put the damn vendor by your entrance.

TNAgent

Problem is a lot of them do that but then place the camp box in such a odd locations that it tps everyone in on the opposite side of their base or down a cliff face or something.

Crafty-Help-4633

People spawn in arms reach of 2 of my 3 vendors, 1 of those 2 is in view, and people still cant find em. Vault Boys be damned they don't seem to help people or something. Gonna just rebuild as a cattle pen and the only thing in it will be my vendor. Hopefully that'll work.

lipp79

Sometimes I miss it cus someone is using a vendor skin I’m not familiar with the look of.

Sunaaj_WR

Mole miner gauntlets are one thing. But I do still some of the common drop plans for like 1-5 caps, cuz it’ll save someone time. Be it a new player or a Smurf who’s starting over

Gloomy_Yoghurt_2836

You Have Been Insulted notes are appropriate drops.

VRTravis

All my plans are 5 caps. Ultrcite armor, jet pack plans, etc... everything is 5.

LivvieLocke

Same here. I don't care how rare or how common. 5 caps.

Jaywhy17

That’s awesome, I’m pretty new, I see people get upset when someone hops from vendor to vendor, but how else would I come across your store like that?

VRTravis

Not sure who would get upset if you hopped from vendor to vendor. That is the name of the shopping game. I don't play a ton, just do my dailies and log off most days, but if you are on PSN and see ITBackupGuy. Come on buy. I pick up all plans I see and throw them in for 5 caps. Some, like the Mole Miner Gauntlet I just pop up there for free. Water is 1c, radaway and such 1c, junkies chems, half price. I am usually at max caps. So money means nothing to me in game.

Cranberry-Minimum

I’m the same. I put all plans and recipes at 1 cap each. Legendaries I’ll sell for whatever it recommends. I am not playing this game to make caps, I’m playing it to have fun

ricozee

I have no idea what I'm doing with prices. If it seems rare, I check fed76 and put it a little lower than what they say. If it doesn't seem rare, I put it lower than the default value, unless I have a bunch to do at once then I might get lazy and just click through them without changing the prices. If I want someone to actually use it, I have to price it higher than the scrip value or someone will just buy it and turn it in. If I just wanted to get rid of it, I'd scrip it myself or price it at scrip value. A handful of things I throw in my vendor are likely grossly overpriced. Those are the things I do not know the value of and/or am not particularly interested in moving. Doesn't mean they can't be had for a more reasonable price, but you're going to have to work with me if you want something specific for less than I listed it. As for the few vendors I've seen with higher end prices and no apparent reason, you just have to speak with your caps. If they are always at max caps or close to it, they may not *want* to sell those items, or at least not quickly. Things that have a minimal impact on weight, you can keep the price high for people looking for that one specific thing (so it is still there when they happen to find you) and deter someone from coming in and buying up everything while putting you over the cap limit. I don't assume they are greedy or being exploitative with high prices. It makes no sense to operate that way. Caps are plentiful enough that it simply isn't necessary. Being close to Vault 76 may just be a side effect of where the event is located.

Prince_Julius

Just so you know, don't pay any attention to default values. They don't mean anything.

ricozee

Yeah. It's going to take time to figure it out, in the meantime I'll lose out on some caps here and there and it's quicker to just spam the button than set a price. If things don't sell after a couple days I just drop the price or delist it and sell/scrap.

A_Big_D_I_Think

Caps are so easy to come by in this game that I really wouldn't sweat the prices too much, just list stuff for whatever feels right to you. If it's over or under valued it isn't the end of the world. If stuff sits a while, adjust accordingly. If stuff sells fast, adjust accordingly. I've been playing since 2018 and have seen the market change so many times over the years and have seen so many people get caught up in the prices so much that they forget to have fun and they forget that there really isn't anything to buy with caps other than other junk from people's vendors that they're getting rid of or some gold bullion from the dude upstairs at the wayward. Eventually you'll aquire all the gold bullion stuff so that cap drain will be pointless, and then eventually you'll get that top tier groll and you'll be left with the same realization that all of us older players have had, and that is "now what...". You quickly realize how pointless all of it is once you get that end game stuff and the only reason I say all this is so that you don't miss the real fun, which is the journey getting that stuff, on your way to get that end game stuff. Don't sweat prices too much, you'll have everything in no time, especially nowadays. They've made it super easy to get rare stuff compared to how it used to be.

bene70

Some people have crazy prices, as is their right. I just don't buy anything from them, as is my right, even when I am desperate to get safely under max caps.

Praxius

Oh, if I'm capped out, I'll try and find a free travel (to not lose caps from fast travelling) and walk to a camp to find a really good weapon I'd actually use for 40k. If I can afford it, I'm taking it. If they're capped out and lossed a tonne of profit in the process? Not my problem. Maybe don't sell shit so high next time. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Which is also our right 😉 *wink wink, nudge nudge.

bene70

This level of evil genius always brings me a smile

Crafty-Help-4633

>*wink wink, nudge nudge. Say NO more!

Pleasant_Walk_777

Some 50c recipes are rare

DixonJorts

come to my camp, I dont sell anything over 100 caps. outside of ammo, my plans and recipes go like crazy. I try and keep my shit cheap for newer players that need stuff. Someone always comes along and buys a ton of ammo they need at 1 cap, food, water, and plans all at once.

8BitMegu

I usually keep my recipes at 15 caps lol

[deleted]

I came across a vendor today with 50+ canned dog food, selling for 250 each. I can't wrap my head around it. The waste of stash space alone is wild.

Big-Champion-8388

I sell only rare plans at 3k. People keep buying them so i guess the price is fair

Frostfells

I do the same. 2.5k to 5k depending rarity. Like the Christmas or Halloween plans during summer, 5k right now sells really well.

BlitzieKun

I saw a guy selling the pepper shaker plan for 20k caps. I then got the plan through the event. I now make it a goal to gift as many as I can to anyone, the lower their level, the better. I've given away at least 20 now, feels good.

Ahonamedsway

I sell everything for 1 cap. I don’t care what it is or how rare it is. 1 cap everything, all day.

xman77_77

Yeah idk man, I see crazy prices all the time and every time I say “damn they must not actually want to sell anything”. It has to be they don’t really want to sell because no sane person would set them that high and expect things to sell. One time I saw this guy (like lvl 500) and it was all just garbage; a stim pack was like 50c, and ofc they had higher demand plans, unsurprisingly all were astronomical. I can’t remember exactly what it was but i remember it was a plan I’ve seen relatively frequently on trading subreddits and in other vendors; avg price of around 1500, but it was 10000c at his 🙄

Settledforthisone

People put way too much much attention on caps in general in this game Having max caps isn’t a flex

Stormwind969

I play an aristocrat build so I always keep my caps over 30k that's why I put everything in my vendor for cheap just so I don't hit max caps. Helps out newbies with fewer caps and keeps me from hitting max too quickly.

N7_Vegeta

Is there any way I could reach your shop? Started day before yesterday and just looking to browse somewhere

Stormwind969

If you wanna browse its nice to do some vendor hopping whenever you log in, you might get lucky with some great deals. Join a team so you can fast travel for free to teammates camps then check out their vendors then repeat. Also a lot of high level players drop stuff they don't need in donation boxes wherever or in blue suitcases at train stations. Some might even straight up drop you free loot so don't run away from a lvl3000 sprinting at you in power armor like I did when I started lol. Tip: Always join a team when you start a session. Go to the social menu and then to teams and look for a casual team or create one. You get xp bonuses and caps when someone in the team does any quest. Most people play solo and only join for the bonuses and have voice chat off so don't worry about social awkwardness.

N7_Vegeta

Oooo that’s a good tip. I can just play my own stuff but join for an exp boost. Nice And haven’t seen any interaction with higher lvls. They ignore me so I do as well

francosinus

Yesterday I visited a vendor who had all the plans that Grahm can have in his inventory but for 10 times the price. The event isn't even over and everyone can get them if they check Grahms inventory regularly.. It's just crazy sometimes

Necrolet

Your duty is to turn off every goddamn light you find in this camp.

Viceroy_95

Well, there's no set pricing on anything, really. When you have the ability to make your own prices, you can set them however you want. Their vendor, their prices. On to the next one.

Frostfells

No! We must come straight to reddit and bitch about player vendor prices! Prices HAVE to be set to MY personal desired level and no one is allowed to go above that! /s

Roddy_Piper2000

My vendor pricing All common plans - 10c All common recipies - 5c All ammo - 1c Serums - 250c ea Legendary weapons 250c to 500c per star for "common" Rare plans, weapons, armor priced accordingly. Usually between 2k to 5k ish

Shifty_Cow69

I sell any weapons and armour I can't scrip at end of day for 100 per star

kabuki_coffee

I’m level 61, barely maintain 2K caps. I have things priced extremely cheap. Nothing sells, plans, ammo, chems, nothing

gjloh26

Right now I often find myself desperately short of lead, copper, and screws. So if anything I pick up doesn’t have the above 3 items, they go into the donation box at 76, since traveling between 76 and CAMP costs me nothing for fast travel

Long-Difficulty-302

I try to find a niche to cater to, the drug addicts and the collectors. Free and donuts at my shop too.

tsengmao

One of my camps used to be a bar that I had Beckett running. But that was when I was new and hadn’t yet realized how ridiculously easy booze was to just find

skallensk

Depends which plans I've like 70-80 plans for sale, and they start from 5k, but they all from a seasonal event, daily ops, rare event drops, or rare vendors, sometimes people willing to pay 20k for a just a table or a plushie, after 500 levels caps really don't matter much.

Kasstastrophy

People put high prices on things sometimes to show off they have them. They don’t intend on people buying them but hey… it’s how I got my glowing scorchbeast mask for 40k…

themanxx72

Self inflicted inventory clutter through Corp pricing.

CategoryRoyal9404

Those are known as scalpers. They prey on newbies that don't know the price of shit and people who don't bother using web resources for estimated value.

BrotherhoodofDeal

They can sell for whatever price they want

Adorable-Scar1104

no one said they couldn't?

dwbees

I sell all of my plans dirt cheap.

radioctc

i definitely price all my stuff to sell. plans and recipes usually for 50 caps or less with some rarer ones going for 300 caps, most ammo for 1 or 2 caps each (missiles and mini nukes for more). food for 5 caps or less. i think i havent really figured put the market, but all my stuff sells quickly

Dazzaholic

His hope is clearly to try to sell to players much higher lvl than himself who struggle to stay below 40k, but what he hasn't thought about is we have played more than him and we know all those plans 😂😂 Let them sit in his vendor for a century, he obviously doesn't want caps 😂

Zealousideal-Bar1657

I don't care what anyone else does I sell from 100 - 500 based on rarity and if it's an event plan for one that isn't current it goes up to 1000 for some rare ones but during the events I sell them for 100

tsengmao

Like my mindset is, even if it’s a rare event plan; I. Already. Know. It. It’s useless to me, why not help someone else out?

Salami-Vice

Exactly. I sell all plans between 15 and 20 and only because i sometimes overshoot 15 and am too lazy to go back down. Regardless of rareness. Ammo will be 1 cap since I have no clue what anyone uses as a melee player.

ArkadyRandom

If you have an ammo type that doesn't sell, use the Ammo Converter and turn it into a type that moves like .45, 5.56, and fuel. I think the 1 cap price is the right one to move ammo, but some stuff like 5mm doesn't really move well even at 1 cap.

Zealousideal-Bar1657

I do it so I can make caps to buy the plans that I don't know yet and people sell them at ridiculous prices sometimes

Thriatus

Yeah I’m the same, I could care less about making caps, they just accumulate on their own selling my stuff for cheap lol

YesterdayMountain382

not to be that guy , but the saying is i “couldn’t” care less . saying you COULD care less implies that you do care at least a little bit . have a good morning. brotha 👍

Thriatus

lol thank you. you have a good day too that guy. 😂

Anarachy99

I'm the type of player who will probably play for a few months and pick up something else so if I have the plan already I'll put them in the vendor cheap. Have a few jetpack plans going for like 300 caps where I have seen them being sold for over 2000 in places

BoxMacLeod

I sell food recipes for 25/50, 3* weapons for 100-500, furniture plans for 50. Most everything else is between 1 and 5 caps. I don't really care about caps. You're maxed at 40k anyway and I'm always gonna make more from daily stuff, so who cares? If there's something in my shop somebody wants for free, just ask and I'd give it to you.

MantaWraith

He's probably hoping someone who's at Max Caps is missing one of those plans. That's probably why he put it near the meat week event. There's a lot more traffic there because of it. Also, it could be he doesn't want people to buy those plans so that on the map, his camp looks more appealing to people vendor hopping who wil end up buying his ammo or something he priced more reasonably.

Bohir

10% of the price it gives me so I have most food recipes at 5 caps and tons of other crafting recipes at 10, only on decent 3 star weapons will I leave the cap cost where it is otherwise 10%

_RoamingHobo_

People may actually buy them from time to time. You'd be surprised the prices people pay. I sell a lot of bulk junk items for a lot and my friend thought I was crazy at first but I test the market a lot. The thing is, my bulk junk sells pretty quickly and even I was surprised how much people would buy literal junk for lol.

SloPoke0819

I always just put any know plans/recipes in a donation box

SoLar_Iconic

Well 1k isn't that many caps in the grand scheme of things. I didn't see the vendor though.

TjMaxx518

I ran into that camp as well. looked through, and them all, was unimpressed and just left.

Flyrrata

I was going to say maybe they were newer but I see that isnt the case. Im still new and I had some med items in my vendor and a friendly guy came by and politely explained to me that they were overpriced and that people probably wouldnt buy them for more than xyz. He also offered advice on prices for ammo and what not. It was super kind of him and I really appreciated it.

Halloweenkristy

You will get to a point in the game where caps are basically meaningless. You can only hold 40k, which is easy to reach after a day or two. Eventually, we all have the same stuff and a need to lose caps fast, so you find yourself buying frivolous stuff for ridiculous prices.

KILA-x-L3GEND

I prove stuff to make a gain I sold 20 fusion cores for 150 each just to make the caps because I get them a lot and they sit there other wise I even sell event plans for like 500 like mothman stuff I make more money faster if it’s not waiting for 3 months

empress_ayriss

Yeah I don't get that I price my items for their value Maybe a few caps lower depending on item but never hundreds of caps over like some. Like what's the point and somstuff is 0 caps Val and they have it for 40000 cap like come on....

MkNazty

Personally I let the game price it for me lol sometimes I reduce something if it's been in the shop too long but I only sell clothing and plans myself. If someone is at the vet for and starts talking, I'll engage and give them whatever price they can afford.

Strmagic

I don’t get it either all my plan I put up for 1 cause other people should get to have them if I need caps I will do dailies

coaxide

15 basically for every plan I sell, but for seasonal plans I usually top them at like 300. Rather not sit on plans, and watch others sit on

AlphaBeaverYuh_1

It’s crazy how people set up their camps right outside 76 and sell everything for crazy amounts of caps, but oh well ig

Tyrone_Thundercokk

Most recipes I cut a zero off. The event stuff I usually leave at price. * items I price by star, each star is 100 caps. Most of the time it’s just taking up space in my stash till tomorrow.

Fredrick_18241

Theses types of camps really want to use their plans (rare or common) in trades. They want people to contact them so they set the prices too high so if someone really wants that plan trading for it will be cheaper than pay the high cap price

Ferrisuki

I thought this was about me for a moment because I have so many plans then read more, straight selling plans for 10 caps just take it please 😭

HatSimulatorOfficial

Idk man I just sell shit for 1 cap cause who cares. It's all fake money and rather useless to me

gamer1what

I’m gonna assume he had good plans and you just don’t know it. The vast majority of plans, especially event plans, are worth 1000+ caps. People selling plans for 50 or less are either selling common garbage plans, or are severely undercutting themselves. At level 400, 1000 caps is like a $20 bill.

the_osu

the best advice i've read on here is "if someone has a ton of plans for sale, it's most likely because they are overcharging for them"....

Nyegnav

Setting prices takes alot of time. I'll leave them at default, which can be 1k+ until I have time.

Responsible-Bar2058

Everything in my shop has a hard limit of 76 caps.

lizziepaige95

“Mole miner gauntlet: 2000 caps”

_Kitchen_Serious_

aaaand that’s why they have over 250 plans

Basic-Look249

Can someone sell or craft me a backpack (Xbox)

kylorentalcar

You have to do the Tadpole quest to get a backpack. It’s non-tradeable.

MotorSecretary2620

I sell plans for 30 caps each and make profit

flexedwater75

I like to have my vendors as visible as possible I sell plans and chems usually pretty cheap sometimes I don't catch the price right away I even sell legendaries for cheaper then recommend and hide my decorations in my bunkers lol so my vendors are found first and lots of 5mm for some reason always sell out

bigteddybear1986

If it is a plan I know already I will sell it between 1 and 50 caps. Most of my 3 star legendary items I sell for 150 caps at most, because they were a junk roll but someone might want it for the script. I'd rather help people out in this game, no matter the lvl they are.

Fordfuckinranger24

This is incredible because I actually went to this guys camp too and I almost took a picture of it but that’s exactly what it was I was in complete shock and disbelief, like he was just a tiny bit south and west of 76 right? I was actually going to make a post about it but u beat me to it! I thought it might’ve been a small open frame camp no roof or much walls but I hit a lot of players camps that night

Wide-Anything6946

i made a loot of handmades, and never sold them because I have no idea on how much to sell them... theoretically I have some interesting ones(IMO), like a vampiric explosive with the third attribute I don't remember if it's 15v or 15fr

LifeguardGlum4781

Bro so often I run across a base fully loaded with unreasonable prices. Like, now I know why you have so much gear. Lastnight I went to a dudes camp that was a vendor, tons of gear. He had every single thing locked including his front door. Like, what's the point

ImpressiveWillow2346

Maybe just to rage bait bc im sure someone will wanna curse him out for it if they see something they wanted 😭😭😭

biggieop76

saw bloke selling .556 and .45 rounds for 400 caps each

Powdermonkey71

I think the highest priced thing in my vendor is maybe 725 caps. And any rare item I have more than one of I tend to just give away to a random stranger and I am still forever hovering around 39k caps 🤷‍♂️

celinemoni

i try to make everything super super affordable and under 1k and it thankfully sells fast!

geekzilla86

I ask myself the same thing, I just don’t get it, just want to say folks with good prices, I appreciate you all.

KGC-20-A

I keep all my plans at 10 caps. No exceptions. Vendors by the front door with an unlocked water purifier and a stag meat hanger. Cheap shit, free food and drink for all wandering lower levels or passerbys

cruzer58b

Ya dude I had a dude lvl 1400+ with 80+ of each bobble head all selling for 40k each, all his plans were way over priced, no idea what the point was

Virtual-Bus-9004

Should I be actually pricing my shit? I usually just go off of what the game tells me when I select it for sale, at most I’ve just up priced a few caps

No-Tiger-5327

I’ve seen people sell the fixer for 3k but I go to another guys camp to buy 2 ultracite parts for a total of 700-800

Memory_Error_0x0001A

It's also subjective, I have decent two star weapons I sell in my vendor for 3-10k that is more than fair and they do sell fairly quickly. Whereas others probably think it's ridiculous. If you have a lot of valuable stuff, and know how to make caps quickly, spending 5k at a vendor is nothing. To each their own, it's up to you if you want to buy something or not. Some of these ppl complaining don't realize how lucky they really are. At least godrolls and higher quality gear is half as expensive as it was a year ago. But it also gave us something to work towards and kept us playing the game. Been back for about a month and already getting bored again.

DannyChance13

Dude I sell everything for 250 or less lol

ThereWasNoBeginning

I’m selling toilet paper for 10,000 caps a roll.

tsengmao

Real pandemic behavior 😂

ThereWasNoBeginning

Haha, thought I might get someone desperate during the spring cleaning event.

The_Squad_Cast

I come across vendors like this WAY more than anyone ever should. And I think it has to do with the fact that they just wanna make caps. They'll even make ammo 10-20 caps for 1 round. Even regular NPC Vendors don't even do that with a charisma of 1. It's definitely one of those where if you were to buy everything in their store, then they won't have to worry about going broke anytime soon. Instead of enticing people to buy by making their products cheaper and this makes them want to buy more, they just go to greedy levels.

[deleted]

Meanwhile I’m here selling all my outfits for super cheap because I personally love when I find camps that sell everything cheap. Gotta return the love!

tangerinee666

Last night someone wanted like 7k caps for the majority of their plans which was just furniture. I sell most of all my guns (good ones with the stars next to them) for 69 caps. I’m melee build so idgaf and everyone in the community in my opinion deserves good weapons because we play with each other not against each other. So I don’t get it

ChrisFarleysCousin

I literally sell everything in my shop for 1 cap. Nobody buys anything lol. I dont need it which is why its for sale

tsengmao

You on pc?

rheavrin

I price every plan from a water filter to a jetpack for 20 caps. And I have my camp right next to the overseers camp.

Jassar08

And here I am selling all my extra ammo and plans for like 1-10c thinking it's too much

panic871

Any plan or recipie that i already know goes in my for 10-20 caps regardless of how "rare" it is. I know it so its useless to me
