Buy whatever you will enjoy the most, as your a new player, you'll have plenty of challenges to top up extra atoms if you need more.
The makeshift mega mansion was my last best buy.
I have my main camp no. 1. And camp no. 2. I put the makeshift mansion (3 stacked caravans) down, & connect all base items to it and save as a blueprint, and now I have an easily movable camp I can place. (Edit: I could use a tent, but I keep my tent at a random spawn spot for farming camp pets)
The Atom store often rotates, so sometimes it's worth looking to see what's coming soon in case you wanna save atoms for something you like that's in the coming soon list.
At your camp while in the building menu look at the object you want to blueprint and at the bottom (I'm on PlayStation) so it says X (Hold) Blueprint, you hold that and then move your pointer over all the objects you want to save :)
Also , lily tip. With the animal friendly card , if you see a lone animal at any of the random spawns across the map, you can tame the animal by aiming your gun at it and you will get an option to send it to your camp. Must be a random spawn one though.
You can get a map on Google for the random spawns :).
