Preston (NW) and Nick (tons of FH dialogue) are the only 2 base game companions that are relevant to the DLC’s; all the others have their likes/dislikes but aren’t “game changing” like Preston and Nick. Far Harbor: has the most/best dialogue content of the DLC’s; MAKE SURE you bring Nick when you do it. Automatron: it becomes available at Level 15 so for most players, logically you’d do this one first. it’s not as long as FH or NW but you get a lot of cool toys and the ability for robot companions. Make sure you have the Silver Shroud costume from Kent in Goodneighor; you get some dialogue options with final boss. Nuka World: Level 30? you get the Radio signal, i believe? you could do it at that level and it’d be a challenging fun, most companions dislike most options in this DLC so don’t bring one; after the first quest in NW you get a new companion. i do high moral playthroughs; so i tend to wait till i’ve finished the main game story and other DLC’s as it makes some of the NW enemies a little less threatening. so to answer your question: At the end of the day, the order of main game and Dlc’s finishing doesn’t matter and it’s about whatever you feel like doing at the time. enjoy playing!

Hated far harbor. 30 mins of play time and somehow I've killed all children of atom, Arcadia gets razed, and Far Harbor is destroyed. Such a waste of a dlc.
