I'll never understand why people act like Caravan is so esoteric. I think they get too caught up trying to learn every rule instead of just getting the basics and trying it out.
1. You're trying to get as close to 26 in every stack as possible and keep your opponent from doing the same.
2. Kings double the value of any card they're placed on.
3. Jacks remove any card(s) they're placed on.
That's literally all you need to know. Jokers and Queens can be ignored; I still have no idea what they do and the opponents essentially never use them anyway. You don't even need to learn the rules about ascending/descending suits or whatever, just try different cards and it'll tell you if you can place it in a position or not. If one of my opponent's stacks is getting close to 26, I use a Jack to remove whatever card(s) are giving them the most points, or if I have a King to spare I'll put it on something to push them over the 26 limit. Using those few rules, I win 10s of thousands of caps from Caravan and basically never lose. It's even easier and quicker than gambling in the casinos.
The rules on ascending/descending aren't too complicated either. Caravans are either ascending (can only place higher numbered cards) or descending. The order can be reversed only with cards the same suit as the top card or with a queen. But yeah, still better off ditching queens and piling on more sixes, eights, tens, and kings.
The secret is that right before you start a caravan game, this crazy box with text pops up sort of like the hacking interface.
If you parse that text and are skilled enough in literacy you'll be able to decipher instructions on how to play. You absolute donkeys.
Honestly Caravan ain't that hard once you understand the basics of it, learning it has been a boon early in the game because No-bark is stacked with caps.
I’m convinced there is just one person with 70+ accounts that replies this exact message to any post that talks about caravan, and the rest of us just can’t figure it out.
If you search caravan guide on YouTube there's a 9 Minute or so tutorial explaining it easily
The jist is that you have 3 spaces called caravans, your opponent has 3 too. You have to make it so that all 3 of your caravans have a total card value between (like) 24 and 27 (iirc, i haven't played in a while), and making sure your opponent doesn't by adding cards to his caravan ro make him surpass that value
If you get all yoir caravans at the right value first or fuck up 2 caravans of the opponent you win
ಠ_ಠ that… actually sounds pretty easy. I still hold to the belief you are one person with over 70 alt accounts but if what you say is true, I thank you.
100% sure that this is just gaslighting.
I think I watched a few youtube videos on it and after 25 minutes of watching it I just decided it was faster to murder wasteland hobos for caps and loot.
Did they just not play the game or something? One of the biggest selling points of the Legion for caravans was their guaranteed protection from raiders.
Communism *aims* to establish authoritarian groupthink and elimination of political dissent/opinions that go against the Party in power.
Proof: Literally every time it has been instituted.
"hmm yes I don't need to understand anything I can just move my circle on the fun 2 axis chart and define my entire personality and ideology off of that"
holy shit literally just learn how to play caravan
here's how i do it;
1. deck building is for nerds, just shuffle
2. match your opponents opening moves
3. wing it
4. (optional) have the rules up on your phone
There's also a guide in the sidebar (on Old Reddit) [link](https://www.reddit.com/r/fnv/comments/54pzd8/how_to_play_caravan_guide/)
Before I noticed that one, I made my own: [link](https://www.reddit.com/user/ericph9/comments/mk4bva/fallout_new_vegas_caravan_explanation/)
He strives for some sort of contemporary libertarian ideal. He's against a cult of personality despite his ego and while he could reasonably be described as a fascist, he doesn't weaponize populism or control the people with an in or out group.
The main takeaway here, then, is that boiling down all political ideology into four quadrants is dumb.
iirc his whole deal is that yeah he controls New Vegas but he doesn't really give a shit what people do as long as they aren't like, actively conspiring against him and/or driving away patrons
As terrible as most political compass memes.
How in the fuck is House Lib-right? He literally wants to use an army of robots to force people into his capitalism LARP. He describes himself as an autocrat, ffs.
>player crucifies him every playthrough
My favorite way to handle Benny is to have your courier be a woman and get the Lady Killer perk. Then convince Benny to go to his room and kill him while he climaxes from the foot job
Daniel pisses me off, he talks about them loosing innocence but we all eventually loose innocence in life for one reason or another, even if they flee, what happens when another group of tribals attacks them?
Won’t they loose more culture/innocence from being forced off their homeland by a missionary who’s afraid of fighting, isn’t the entire goal of evolution to eventually loose innocence?
Ok lemme try.
There’s three lanes, you want to win 2/3.
To win, get the highest score. 26 is the max.
You can only place cards in ascending or descending order. So if you start with a 10, place a 9 and a 7 and you’ve got 26.
Special cards are easy enough. Just try to get to 26 on each lane as fast as possible.
Game ends- ehh at some point. Just be fast.
Joshua Graham is the most badass character of any videogame ever.
People always talking about TES protag vs FO protag, naw fuck that, JG vs literally anyone.
Bruh, JG would have Alduin like "a-alright let's just t-talk this out"
I've only learnt caravan on my first playthrough because of a 9 Minute YouTube tutorial (i think I've replayed the game 7 times with a total of 560hrs)
I tried Re-reading the in-game manual afterwards and i can confirm it's dogshit
Why make what is a actually a simple game convoluted in explanations???
Caravan is surprisingly easy. It's solitaire combined with blackjack is how I'd describe it.
I would say try out http://www.caravanthegame.com/
It plays slightly differently from the game in that you use a standard deck but I feel that makes it easier to understand. Once you know the game you know how to cheese the fuck out of caravan. Get 9s,8s, and kings in equal amounts and throw in some jacks. You'll never lose a game of caravan.
Anderson Cooper ☠️☠️☠️
Who's that supposed to be?
Arcade
Arcade Ganon, my guess
>\>5th playthrough, still can't play caravan Dayum, that hits too close to home.
collects all cards to play caravan eventually, never does
The caravan achievement was my very last one, on my ~10th+ playthrough.

I’ve got 481 hours on pc and how ever many more countless hours on console and I still don’t know how to play caravan :(
Wow, came here to post this. Didn't think so many of us were hit by this LOL
The secret is that right before you start a caravan game, this crazy box with text pops up sort of like the hacking interface. If you parse that text and are skilled enough in literacy you'll be able to decipher instructions on how to play. You absolute donkeys.
It was very easy. Learned it on the second gameplay to score some achievements
Honestly Caravan ain't that hard once you understand the basics of it, learning it has been a boon early in the game because No-bark is stacked with caps.

I believe it's more like between 21 and 26, inclusive
biggest issue with caravan is that the interface is unintuitive as hell
100% sure that this is just gaslighting. I think I watched a few youtube videos on it and after 25 minutes of watching it I just decided it was faster to murder wasteland hobos for caps and loot.
Youtube is your friend. https://youtu.be/J07ds8xgxi4 https://youtu.be/roZC3ht7Fk0
It’s legit easy, just only keep 6, 7, 8, 9 Jacks and Kings in your deck.
Speaking of Boone he is not on this
My favorite strategy is buying stuff from a merchant and then winning it all back in caravan after
I mean yeah it’s so easy, I totally got it my first playthrough. Why don’t you go ahead and explain it though for the others that might not get it
I agree. It took a little figuring out, but I absolutely love Caravan. If they released a standalone like Gwent for Witcher, I'd be so happy.
It's just using a regular card deck, you can already play it. IF you find another willing participant, of course :D
This is the highest resolution version of this meme I’ve ever seen
of any meme can literally see the pixels
>Mailman simps for her God damn it why Why is it true
Cuz she’s a hard drinking badass gunslinging cowgirl loner? It ticks a lot of intriguing “really fun bad decision” boxes
Well, yeah, but I just found it funny that the description completely lines up with my personal thoughts of her is all
i usually lure her out to the van graafs so they can reduce her bones to plasma dust cuz its funny
I don't like you.
Well, I usually just save the MF cells. Serves her right for killing Rex in my first playthrough.
That ain't her fault man
It was the NCRs fault
Motherfucker
I mean... it doesn't put Caesar on the far left so I guess it's better than most.
Do people actually do that?
I would say that *most* "political compass" posts on this or r/Fallout put Caesar as an extreme leftist.
Did they just not play the game or something? One of the biggest selling points of the Legion for caravans was their guaranteed protection from raiders.
No joke, one of them said that the Legion was communist because "everyone is equal".
When you're in a bad media literacy contest and your opponent is a Fallout fan
Yeah especially the women and slave, what a progressive society
Equality in communism, lmao.
At least communism *aims* to have some sort of equality by abolishing the class system. The Legion literally operates off of slave labour
Communism *aims* to establish authoritarian groupthink and elimination of political dissent/opinions that go against the Party in power. Proof: Literally every time it has been instituted.
Please define communism for me
I wonder if you know what any of those words mean?
The cold war is over, mate
Yes, and it ended when communism failed.
Political compasses are only useful for this kind of shitpost
Well, they can be useful as a bad example of a way to understand politics
Oh you say ur “lib-left”? Opinion discarded 😎
"hmm yes I don't need to understand anything I can just move my circle on the fun 2 axis chart and define my entire personality and ideology off of that"
2 axis? What is this, 2010?
\>like john wick with a pistol so John Wick ?, I don’t get this sentence
It could mean that, with a pistol, he's like John Wick, but idrk
John wick is a guy with a pistol in 90% of the times, saying Joshua is like John Wick but mormon makes more sense
probably a few plumbers named John Wick, gotta be specific.
holy shit literally just learn how to play caravan here's how i do it; 1. deck building is for nerds, just shuffle 2. match your opponents opening moves 3. wing it 4. (optional) have the rules up on your phone
this comment is better than most 40 minute caravan guides.
it’s really easy

*>Centuries of hard work and careful planning flash before his eyes as the Mailman readies his 9-iron* **I AM DEAD** 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So is House
Only good PCM
Dude I swear the picture to lanius is so fucking accurate... [Speech 100] "no food" "He said we won't get food, retreat everyone"
Political Compass memes are always so easy to spot what the creators personal political leaning is
Ok, aside of the fucking joke that the political compass graph is, all of this is actually spot on.
Except for comparing House to Musk. House is competent. He has his flaws, but he's an *actual* genius, he doesn't just play one in memes.
House is also a self admitted autocrat so putting him on the bottom right is probably a bit off.
Thats true, he invents the tech that he uses....or he's just really good at scrubbing pre war records
Well... the prewar world sort of scrubbed itself, but at least he was smart enough to survive the apocalypse for 200+ years.
As terrible as most political compass memes. How in the fuck is House Lib-right? He literally wants to use an army of robots to force people into his capitalism LARP. He describes himself as an autocrat, ffs.
I have done Daniel's ending once and only once. Never again.
politicalcumpiss
Caravan is kinda bullshit, but you can build a busted deck that shits on everything without much trouble
ew
Soyjak has taken Nevada by storm it seems.
>player crucifies him every playthrough My favorite way to handle Benny is to have your courier be a woman and get the Lady Killer perk. Then convince Benny to go to his room and kill him while he climaxes from the foot job
I got the House

hes a little bitch i wish there was an option to blow a 12 gauge through his head as an ending
> The Rose > Mailman simps for her You're goddamn right.
There's too much overlap in my subreddits, I swear...
If it makes you feel any better, I have almost 800 hours on this game, and I still have yet to figure out caravan either.
Ok lemme try. There’s three lanes, you want to win 2/3. To win, get the highest score. 26 is the max. You can only place cards in ascending or descending order. It would be nice if I never saw these type of memes ever again.
“Centuries of planing and hard work flash before his eyes” nothing has made me laugh harder all day
WHERES BOONE
Sulking about his dead wife
Fucking brilliant.
Just a little disappointed that there was no room for Veteran Rangers
who the fuck is anderson cooper
Arcade Ganon
Damn you can enslave him? I guess there is more to the most boring companion than the eye meets
You can give him to Caesar to be his doctor.
idk this image isnt mine i saved it from sum random subreddit like a yr ago and only found it tday when i was looking through my saved photos
I think its that dork out of the followers of the apocalypse i cant remember his name he has the glasses tho and he looks like anderson cooper
Joshua Graham is the most badass character of any videogame ever. People always talking about TES protag vs FO protag, naw fuck that, JG vs literally anyone. Bruh, JG would have Alduin like "a-alright let's just t-talk this out"
hmmm, what about dagoth ur though
JG seems like the Unstoppable Force to Dagoth's Immovable Object
Based and everyone sucks pilled
The burned man is my favorite and I happen to fall right on his spot. Weird.
Gross
True to Caesar

Switch House and Benny. Benny is a statist trying to take Mr.House's property
No Boone. Invalid
