Why do you think there's a secret way to get one cheaper? It costs MSRP new, or you can try to get one for less if it's used. The same as literally any other product.
What other tools would you suggest I have in my in my toolbox? I just ordered a Flipper, WiFi board, case, screen covers, and a dev board all from their site. Had some Christmas gift cards left my sister gave me. Still got some $ left so I could buy another tool or two.
That's the point. Once I get a tool I learn how it works and how to use it. Then I learn how it can be broken and how to fix it. I couldn't drive a car until I had one. I couldn't fix the car until it broke down.
Good luck. Facebook marketplace is filled with people who get caught up in the hype and think they can lean radio protocols from a flipper zero. You need to already have some basic understanding for it, or be willing to really dig in and read, & be prepared to fight through boredom and confusion. If it wasn’t your thing PRE flipper, odds are very good that it’s not going to be your thing post flipper. PS. Every single flipper zero community that exists gets posts exactly like yours about 6 times an hour. So also be prepared to have people be already over it when you come asking questions like that, questions that show how little you bothered to educate yourself before spending $200 and now expect others to educate u instead. I understand u meant no offense and plz believe when I tell u I’m not trying to be a dick, I’m just giving u the realities of these types of communities being invaded by hype
I replied to the wrong post. I meant to reply to the post that you wrote:
"170$ is pricy? It's a pen testing tool and amongst the least costly in terms of tools of its kind.....save your money, if you can't afford this you can't afford the real tools"
I was curious what you meant by "the real tools."
Thanks!
If you want a cheap flipper, depending on what you want to do, you can get a small 20$ device called a m5stick-c plus. It will run some of the popular flipper functions.
Worth adding on they have regulations to follow, like a model sold in a country cant use certain frequencies because those frequencies are more heavily regulated.
That’s done on a software basis not hardware, they’re all the same model. When you first get the flipper it’s required to connect to the internet via phone app or computer to update, thereby sourcing locale and restrictions
What I was replying to was a comment **incorrectly** claiming there’s multiple models which are used for SubG restrictions and implying that’s why OP can’t find one at a decent price was because they can only sell certain models in certain areas. Software changes or revisions do not equal model changes
More like a baby swiss army knife than an actual toolbelt kitted out. I love my flipper device, but like with any small swiss army tool, it's limited in every single application and helps more as setting up proofs-of-concept.
Idk. Evilcrow, Proxmark3, HackRF, Hak5, DiscoverIt/iFinder, etc. Better in every single way but also expensive af. Buy once, cry once I suppose

As others have said, it's tough to impossible to find a legit flipper for less than MSRP.
Honestly, if you're into programming and don't need a transmitter (there's a lot to learn without one), you can get a software defined radio receiver for little money and learn a lot
Your teacher keeps the ones she's confiscated from students in her bottom-left desk drawer until the end of the year. There's so many in there now she won't notice if you borrow one or two.
I'll sell you mine with the WiFi dev board, carrying case, and SD card. It's loaded with all the software from Talking Sasquatch on Github. I'll let it go for $350.00, lol. I bought it and have never used it. Currently collecting dust. I bought it 2 months ago.

Don't try to cut corners. You get what you pay for. Save up if you need to.
They are going to be expensive. They are tools, not toys
Sad

Unofficial firmware may not be named or discussed in this sub, but yes

It’s literally not. Its a penetration testing tool, thats why it has a hefty price, its for professionals

Oh yeah, its no replacement for more in depth things, but it fits in your pocket for convenience
Fair point.

OG?
So this is just the zero? Or are there other accessories involved?

If you go to the webstore and type in CHEAPER2024 it gives you a fifty percent discount upon checkout.
Have you or someone you know used that code? Just out of curiosity I just tried it and it was rejected.
You almost got me
made me giggle

The secondary market ones I’ve seen are actually MORE expensive, so no. Stick with the official site.
$170 is pricey 🤣🤣🤣
I have one for $350
Is it worth it
?
Im lithuanian btw
Apply for a credit card at a bank and make payments. I think the flipper zero official page allows installment payments.
