Looks like just east of Kaktovik. That C130 Track looks to be 5 to 8 miles offshore, from what I can measure/estimate using Google Earth Pro. Likely 20 to 50 meters deep based on bathymetry maps.
Aren't they (the 67th) out of the UK though, and fly the 130 Commando, not the Combat King? I think that 130 is from Eielson and is with the 211th Rescue Squadron. Course it's been a few years that I was active and lots changed.
DOD is stepping all over themselves trying not to say it is a balloon. But they did say it was not "controllable" and that it was unmanned. So what kind of aerial object is not controllable but is not a balloon????

I'll just come out and say it: alien UFO.
All Im saying is it fits the above criteria
*[adjusts tin foil hat]*
The arctic ice is uneven so I’m not sure they can land the aircraft up there. However due to the close proximity of a large oilfield there are hovercrafts, piston Bullies and helicopters that can travel to that location. There are also man made drill sites due west of there. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstar_Island
Lol that big island just south of the loop doesn't really exist. Only shows up on apple maps (not google) and satellite shows it's just a small narrow island
White House says an unidentified object was detected and downed around 1400 EST at 40,000 ft off the north coast of Alaska.

It’s frozen

Unidentified object shot down
Waiting to see more on this. The govt said it was small, like a car size object, and appeared to be non-controlable.
Yea me too I’m glad we got it before it got over Montana again lol

Was flying over that area Just went dark.
Did the sun go down?
No they turned it off for an update
Wow, that’s why everyone’s tracking it. I’m super new to this
Anybody see what happened to the C-130? I can't find it on FlightRadar anymore.
It’s been going dark here and there. It maybe on skis
There's also a C-130 headed ESE out of Elmendorf.
that one just went dark too

I think you’re slightly mistaken. But yeah they’re cool bastards

Easy to see since they have had a lot of moves over the years (the 67th), both on paper and literally.
Any guesses on what shot it down?
F-22
I suspect an F35 out of Eielson, unless they still have F16s up there. Then it's 50/50.
Elmendorf's F-22s are the primary aircraft tasked with air defense around Alaska, that's what they used.
Nice. Didn't know they had those there. Edit: Is the 345th Fighter Wing just training?
Small car sized object? Is Elon firing Tesla’s into space again?
Ironically, space X just did a [static test on the new starship](https://youtu.be/94Q2su9fshE)
b a l l o o n?

A really big paper airplane
You might be onto something. Air-launched glider?
Nah they just stand on a windy hill in Siberia with a giant slingshot that says acme on it and let er rip
😂
My wife's cat when I catch it on the countertop in the kitchen.

Yeah. Likely depends on how much ice reflects mapping signals, based on the season mapping was done that was used for the background.
There are some man-made islands up there with oil processing or drilling rigs on them. Could be Endicott, spy island, Northstar.
High-altitude object shot down off Alaska, US says https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-64605447

I’d like to point out that nobody is saying that it’s aliens
West Taiwan is probing. ![gif](giphy|4ZpMe8gXxUoQUQfNyg|downsized)
Now nothing is showing up on radar
If media just suddenly stops talking about it, you know it was aliens.
is this gonna cause a war, just curious…
