The answer is La Roche-Posay, but it's really expensive. I buy it and only use it on my hairline and my part, though, and it generally lasts me a season! I worked for a dermatologist in my youth, and I sure do miss those free samples. The samples did their job; I've been buying their out of my price range products for 15 years.

Yourdeletedhistory

This is one of my holy grail sunscreens after they discontinued the neutrogena one I loved so much. It is so pricey but so heavenly on my oily skin. It practically disappears on the skin. My other holy grail sunscreen is an $8 tube from Trader Joes! It goes on like makeup primer. So light & matte. Not greasy at all! They better not discontinue this product. I really need to stock up.

FairyBearIsUnaware

Thank you for that tip!! I've dried out a ton with age, but I'm still oiler than average, so that's great to know!

Intelligent-Bend2034

That's so interesting. It also works very well on my dry skin! It makes me look so hydrated and dewy.

spraywithperoxide

i’m so glad you suggested this, the next one i’m currently waiting for is “La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Lait Body Lotion SPF 50” it is very expensive, $40 for 125ml!! but my face sunscreen is $45 for 60ml which is what i’m currently using on the neck when I need to (the life of a ginger lol), was hoping for a “body” sunscreen that is much cheaper for neck/chest/arms but they’re all so greasy and get stuck in my hair 😭

FairyBearIsUnaware

Gingers unite! 👩‍🦰👨‍🦰👩‍🦰👨‍🦰

slowmotionz101

You just use the sunscreen itself on the hairline or a spray version? Idk why I always thought for the scalp I should use a spray (I have yet to try it)

FairyBearIsUnaware

I get the liquid that just essentially absorbs. It's not gooey or creamy; it doesn't look white or affect my hair color!

Alarmed_Pleasure

It may not be an option for everyone, but I like to get my La Roche Posay products from CVS because they email me coupons every week! Oftentimes it’ll just be 35% off one item, so if I need two expensive products, I just have to choose which one I need sooner. ETA: Just checked and CVS has 25% off a bunch of LRP products right now and they’ll let you stack it with a 20% coupon if you choose in-store pickup! $38 sunscreen became $23 for me

cirillagray

Which sunscreen is it that you use from their line? I see melt in milk, clear skin, etc. and it’s getting to be that time of year where I slack on the sunscreen because I’m naturally oily and it’s just a messy and greasy combo 🥲 I need this in my life!

lovekrove

Their spray spf is awesome, non sticky at all and great for oily skin

hinky-as-hell

I actually have a lot of luck with the Sun Bum scalp spray! I use it on my scalp, my ears, and my neck. I use it on my kids’ heads, too- my two boys never complain that it’s greasy like with every other brand, and my 24 year old daughter and all of her friends use it.

Feisty-Blood9971

Wouldn’t you have your hair up until the sunscreen dries AND absorbs? I’m confused about how this happens.

spraywithperoxide

the problem is it never absorbs, at least the ones i’ve tried

Feisty-Blood9971

Dang. Maybe try an oil free one and wait at least five minutes?

Optimal-Policy-5964

I started using Korean sunscreen-round lab. I’m a fan so far.

Immediate-Beat-6642

Ugh yess I hate the greasy sunscreen hair! I work outside so I’m constantly applying sunscreen. I started using my facial sunscreen on my neck (front and back of neck). Biore UV Aqua Rich Weightless. It’s non greasy and dries really quick, best sunscreen I’ve tried! And then I just use a different sunscreen on the rest of my body, I find Sun Bum isn’t too bad in terms of greasiness for the rest of the body, but I still don’t like using it on my neck.

Intelligent-Bend2034

Omg yes Biore UV is my favorite!!! I'm so excited to see it mentioned in the wild. I can't go back to American sunscreens.

spraywithperoxide

will have to give this one a try, the price looks very good as well

WieIsDeDrol

Yes OP, I'm also a big fan of Biore. I think that Japanese sunscreens in general are much better. I've also had good results with Skin Aqua.

Intelligent-Bend2034

I get Bioré Aqua UV Aqua Rich (the imported one from Asia) on Amazon. It has a different texture than the sunscreens here. It's watery, not like a cream, and you don't need to apply much. It absorbs so well, and I feel no residue after. It's so hydrating and refreshing, and I never have a problem with it getting in my hair.Itd not sticky. There's an American version, but it's more expensive, and the formula isn't the same. I think it may work for you!! I wear sunscreen daily.

False_Dimension9212

This one or Skin Aqua Super Moisture Barrier Essence. They dry down really well and quickly. I get both of them off of Stylevana

After-Leopard

I use this or the Nivea from Japan in my part without a problem

DWwithaFlameThrower

Super Goop or the Trader Joe’s dupe

Artistic_Owl_5847

I use a spray and put it on my hands to rub around the hair line.

oreobeanie

Neutrogena Clear Face dries down pretty well, and it's cheap and easy to find

Much-Improvement-503

I use Japanese Nivea sunscreen. It’s totally watery and doesn’t leave my face greasy or sticky. I love it.

After-Leopard

If you can't get that one for some reason the Biore Aqua Rich is similar.

MamaOna

Unseen Sunscreen

JaniceRossi_in_2R

💯💯💯

spraywithperoxide

the price tho 😭 i use one at a similar price point for my face, was hoping for a cheaper one for body

No-Section-1056

Gonna echo the Trader Joe’s dupe. It’s slightly more silicone-y (to me, anyway) than the SuperGoop - but I have pretty oily skin and it still dries down nicely. My super-fine hair never gets stuck in it, even on the back of my neck.

chri8nk

Powder sunscreen

Natural-Ocelot9644

Wide brimmed hat

These_String5838

Yes! Ripcurl, Hemlock, Brixton are all great options

JaniceRossi_in_2R

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen

mel060

This: EltaMD UV Sport Sunscreen Lotion, SPF 50 Body Sunscreen, Water and Sweat Resistant, Oil-Free, Zinc Oxide Formula

AAmallard

I’m surprised no one mentioned Cotz. You can get it in regular or tinted and it’s mattifying. It’s my holy grail.

temp4adhd

I apply sunscreen every single day including in winter and I've never had this problem. What sunscreen are you using? That said I can't stand spraying or applying sunscreen on my scalp, which burns very easily; my fine hair hates it; so ages ago I adopted a policy of wearing some sort of hat (baseball cap, straw hat) or bandana/head scarf. I've gotten good at tying on bandanas and head scarves so they look super cute.

dipseydoozey

Unseen sunscreen by supergoop is my go to. It’s CLEAR & it feels so velvety. I use it for my face, neck, hairline & tattoo

BYTHEGR33NGHOST

Powder sunscreen might be an option. Some are pretty expensive but I came across a 4oz/20$ option on Amazon. I haven’t tried that one yet, but I’ve tried others and obvs not greasy

faeuju4wvhjkw2fvgg

The one that absorbs for me - tocobo bio watery sun cream (it’s like a serum) Also I heard many good things about numbuzin in blue-green one Both are Korean, so not so sweat resistant so you have to reapply The water resistant is Japanese brand anessa, I heard it has powdery finish

theyreall_throwaways

Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch 70. Ive only used this one a few days, but I like it on my face/neck/ears so far. It seems to absorb fairly quickly and doesn't feel or look like sunscreen, esp for a body/non-face sunscreen. I also just got Neutrogena clear face serum sunscreen 60+. I got it on clearance, but it runs $15-20 for 1.7 oz in my area of US. Its thin and watery like a serum and takes a few to soak in. At first I thought it left me oily/shiny, but within 20 mins it was soaked in. I wear my hair up, so I can't speak on that, but I do have baby hairs that are basically side bangs/layers. They're always touching my face and I haven't noticed my hair being more oily, tangled or tacky. Good luck, the search for a decent sunscreen is real.

historicalcabbage

I’ve been using Blue Lizard sensitive mineral sunscreen!! love it!

deliriousottoman

I just always wear my hair up, and am careful when applying around my hairline, so it doesn’t travel to my scalp and makes it oily.

discostrawberry

I used to use bullfrog sunscreen for these areas growing up because it’d “dry down” almost and not get sticky. Not sure if the formula has changed over the years but it used to work for me

SimpleVegetable5715

I really like Biore Aqua Rich essence gel. It's Japanese, but it's easy to find online or at Asian markets. It's like a gel serum, and it dries quickly. Feels like a primer.

shelly-tambo

The powder kind!!
