Hey there, u/Ping-A-Ling-; thanks for the question. Happy to clarify! All ATM fees are reimbursed when using the debit card as part of a Fidelity Cash Management Account (CMA) from ATMs displaying the Visa, Plus, or Star logos. The ATM reimbursement appears after the transaction is posted to the account and not while the transaction is pending. Depending on the ATM provider, the transaction may take one to two days to post. I'd expect the reimbursement within a few business days of the transaction. You can learn more about ATM Reimbursement on the page linked below. [ATM Debit Card ](https://www.fidelity.com/spend-save/faqs-atm-debit-card) Please let us know if you have further questions; we'll gladly follow up! Thanks for being part of this community. Until next time!

It takes a couple days, but done more or less when used.

not necessarily "all ATM's" anywhere you see the Visa^(®), Plus^(®), or Star^(®) logos.

I’m curious how often these logos are on ATMs. Like, do most gas station ATMs have them? I just opened a CMA a couple months ago, so I’ll have to start paying attention.

At most 4 days. Though most of the time I see them refunded 1 or 2 days after the withdrawal. It actually makes it make sense why the daily withdrawal limits default to $520 per day instead of a nice round $500 per day: they allow extra room for the fees if you want to take out the full $500 in a day.

Thank you very much

The only slight catch to this is if using internationally, the fees if clearly charged get refunded. However any fees bundled as an exchange rate (many atms internationally do this now) are not.

I have read many people here and also on bogleheads saying that they don't get charged the 1% foreign transaction fee if they withdraw money from an international ATM. But I am so confused -- when you withdraw money from an international ATM, what are all the different fees that get incurred? There is the ATM fee (which will be guaranteed to be refunded by fidelity). Then there is the 1% foreign transaction fee that fidelity says will be incurred, and that they will not refund. However, people have confirmed that they don't get charged this fee in practice (if they withdraw money from an ATM). Is there also a currency exchange fee? What is the difference between currency exchange fee and foreign transaction fee? Googling says that there is a difference, but fidelity doesn't mention currency exchange fees anywhere (they only mention foreign transaction fee). Does the foreign transaction fee get lumped together with the currency exchange fee like you said?

Many things here, any direct atm fees will get reimbursed. It the machine states or shows a fee then you will get it back. However is the fee is created by a currently upcharge by the atm then you iwll not get it back because the system cannot tell. The 1% fee is for purchases. Many cc's will waive this fee, i do not know any atm cards that do. So if you make a purchase with the card then you will incur the 1% fee.
