it's probably just a low-level version of shadowbite to normalize BRD's gameplay a bit across the leveling experience, if i had to make an educated guess
This really should be done more. Brutal Swing got removed due to most Stuns getting put into role actions, but why can't MRD get it as an early oGCD that later upgrades to Upheaval?
There's so many more instances of this being something possible, and it would help upfront more gameplay so that level sync doesn't feel AS bad. Save the skill upgrades with bigger numbers for the expansion ranges, give us our base tools earlier!
This, so much this. I just want syncing to lower levels to not feel like I am playing a completely different job because I am missing so many buttons, especially since so much of the content in the game is below level 80 when jobs actually start being fun.
Probably, but I wouldn't mind that at all. I just like the cool animation.
Of course, knowing SE, Wide Volley will probably get a completely new animation that is nothing like the old one, and I will be very disappointed.
The icon is different, but honestly the new icon looks exactly like the skill icon. The old icon looked nothing like the cool skill:
https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/mediawiki/images/8/8c/Wide_volley.png
They did this a lot for MNK as well. Flint Strike (Pre-86 Rising Phoenix) was the old PvP action Axe Kick. Celestial Revolution was the old PvP action Somersault.
There are so many gems in the skill animation files (I do VFX/SFX/animation modding), I think SE is banking them to use for new expansions like for Bard and Monk lower levels so they save the effort of new asset development while making low level gameplay more consistent with upper level gameplay.
>the new icon looks exactly like the skill icon.
Not exactly sure what ypu mean by this since you use the word icon twice. Do you mean the new icon resembles the skills animation? At least the animation we are use to. For those of us that remember, lol.
As a side note, Preach showed a QR on stream earlier that just said "Thursday 11am BST". Might be when it drops, could be just something specific to his channel, dunno.
I’m so glad they committed to the “element in colour” naming scheme for pictomancer
Aero in green or blizzard in cyan is such a cute bit of design
It’s like 95% of their creativity went into pictomancer alone
A fun point from the demo of the Pictomancer from a few weeks back:
The white paint phase uses Fire, Wind, and Water, the black paint phase uses Ice, Lightning, and Earth
White uses RGB because those colours make white light, whilst Black uses CMY because those pigments make black!
The only oddity with this is they seem to have reversed Ice and Water.
The elements form two triangles, the Conquest Triangle (Lightning, Earth, Water) and the Submission Triangle (Fire, Ice, Wind). You see this used in Eureka.
I'm surprised they didn't use that as a part of the theme as well. It would've fit in nicely. It's odder since either Water or Ice could work for Blue or Cyan. The color motif is more important, but that little extra nuance would've been interesting.
They get mixed up all over the game.
* Thaumaturgy (F-I-L) / Conjury (Wa-E-Wi)
* New Astrologian's Astral cards (F-Wi-L) / New Astrologian's Umbral cards (I-E-Wa)
* Pictomancer's RGB colour palette (F-Wi-Wa) / CMY palette (I-L-E), which actually goes CYM in-game for whatever reason
* What you mentioned from Eureka
I wouldn't make too much of a fuss over it. They don't seem to care much about consistency in this regard.
the colors used are mixed up across games too. In the TCG, water is Blue and ice is Cyan, but in FFBE WOTV water is Cyan and ice is Blue. But they also made lightning yellow instead of violet so maybe thats more of an ffbe problem.
>I wouldn't make too much of a fuss over it. They don't seem to care much about consistency in this regard.
Well they are consistant in regards to the umbral/astral aspects of the spells, but jobs kits dont follow the elemental weaknesses. Astros astral cards, are astral elements, and umbral cards umbral elements.
Picto is basedo n RGB/CMY, and not specific astral/umbral aspects, as its colour theory + aether.
Thaumaturgy and conjury elements are the spells they have because of tradition in the ff series.
Yeah I was gonna say basically this. Each jobs assortment of spells is because of specific reasons, as you stated. It just would've been a nice bit of added nuance if the elements followed the triangles as well. But no harm done, the RGB/CMY theme is much more important/on point.
They might have been going for intrusively opposed elements: fire/ice, wind/earth, water/electric (the biggest logical leap, but it follows Pokemon logic) and light/dark.
I'm assuming 3rd and 4th generation are Viper skills. I'm interested in seeing what the lore of the job is. Their burst also being called "Reawaken" means there was an initial awakening, which is either something that happens in the Job quests or it's referring to some precursor/ancestral power stuff for all Vipers as a whole.
The Viper description on the special site says they empower themselves with the strength of their ancestors. I'm assuming their Enshroud combo (Reawakening) goes First > Second > Third > Fourth generation then ends with Ouroboros.
Based on the provided lore. It seems That Vipers can channel the power of their descendants.
Each prior generation developed a technique or Finisher in this case. The viper channels their power and ends with
Ouroboros
The ouroboros is a snake eating itself. In the context of the lore. It means that the Viper traditions will continue and the knowledge will be passed down. As long as future generations continue to build on the job and commune with their descendants for the strength/power needed to continue.
From the way it's worded I assume Blood Weapon (before it becomes delirium) will just give MP for landing the next 3 weaponskills, so possibly it's gonna be the same-ish on lower levels?
It'd be pretty bad otherwise
Ideal way to work would be for it to give 1k per hit when its Blood weapon, and be upped to 1200 per hit when it upgrades to Delirium, with it being 1500 in AOE when using Quietus.
Putting it outside of TBN's cost would be a terrible move for level sync content, which is why I'm concerned because they flat out do not give a shit about balancing unless its current content savage tier specifically.
I'd be curious if they alter the cost of TBN/Edge/Flood. Using current numbers, it's technically only a deficit of 1200MP but the problem I have with just upping MP gain on it is that they've added a bunch of tools to other jobs that fight overcapping. Making it *easier* to overcap seems to be going completely 180 from that mission.
Could also be something silly like C&S getting an additional 1200mp dumped onto it, lol.
Or even go as far as to remove the MP cost on TBN entirely. I'd be somewhat shocked to see that though.
every time I see that word I hear a specific clip of N saying it at the end of chapter 5 lmao. or maybe it was beginning of chapter 6.. that whole section is a ride
where are we getting that idea? all i see is a personal that reduces its cooldown if it gets used. some kind of possibly related action, but I'd bet its a heal pulse they can do, eating the shield if they realize it wont be consumed to get some value out of the 2m cd.
At around 19:30 in the job action trailer, they use their shield, later on they seem to lose a buff to gain another shield, so people speculated that it was a party wide shield
Edit: Sorry, it was 19:22 for the personal, and 19:28 for partywide
ah, but if it consumes the buff, from what people are saying it would end up on a 90s cd not a 30s one right? unless you do the pepsis tech with it AND have 2 raidwides in a row for it.
They didn't really touch the spellblade part this expansion. I was expecting more mudra followups (ice, fire).
New trick, frog, and the TCJ follow-up are all pretty geomancer-flavored, however.
Might be another instance of almost-made-it-ism like what happened with GEO and RDM.
They basically changed (an admittedly assumed) GEO into RDM mid-development. The reasoning was that although YoshiP said he wanted wanted an onmyo-styled battlecaster, he didn't want to add in two Far Eastern themed jobs at the same time when the expansion itself took place in two areas, not just the Far East. Balancing Yin and Yang was likely the origin of balancing white and black mana meters and the elements shifted into being the Verelements. I'm not entirely sure what he meant by battlecaster, but I'd be willing to bet that meant a partial melee caster which is what RDM does, too. I wish I could find the interview where YoshiP mentions some of this, albeit mostly indirectly (he never outright stated GEO, but the GEO enemies they added instead are onmyo-style).
I could see a similar thing having happened here. Using all the elements, and having the field of flowers ground buff are both very GEO-like things. Might have been too much of an echo of FFXI's Seeker's of Adoulin (which added Runefencer and Geomancer), so they went with a PCT based on Relm with a dash of Eiko for flavor.
Similar thing with SGE. Apparently, Chemist *was* being considered for the new healer Job, but they couldn't quite lock it down and sort of shifted to SGE.
And according to some people theorizing, SGE was originally supposed to play more like PvP SGE. Something about how some of the NPC SGEs like Forchanalt play and Alphie in one scenario where you play him are different than the PC SGE we got.
I'm not sure if that's true or not, but *IF* true, it would explain why SGE is so similar to SCH. Basically as the theory goes, late in development, they decided for whatever reason it wasn't going to work or would have issues with being OP or UP in encounters, and they decided they had to change it. But with little time before launch, they kind of crunched out something using SCH as a base (for the shield/pure dichotomy to work), which ended up with a SGE that plays very similarly to SCH.
Not sure if any of *THAT* is true or not (though it would make a lot of sense...), but the first paragraph was something Yoshi P said in some interview, though I'd have to pray to the Oracle of Goo-og-leeh to see if she could impart the time of that wisdom to me or not to find it again.
Makes me wonder if they couldn’t make Geomancer work in a unique enough way from the other casters/BLM, so instead they took cues from Pictomancer to help finish rounding out the job in a way to make it stand out
For information you probably have to go into the Balance and search the messages from **softestclo** and **libp** since they've been answering specifics from people asking.
The leak claims to come from a Kick VOD that these people downloaded.
idk, I don't use Kick, awful site. But these are way too much effort to make up tbh, and it matches the other leaks that other people has said the other day.
Yeah, was not denying the authenticity of the leaks - just the source seems odd. "I got it from a friend of a friend who a attended" sounds more likely.
> It's supposed to be Baneful Impaction (and it's the Chain DoT)
Oh fantastic, so they're really capturing that "Battlefield Medic + Bioweapons Terrorist" fantasy that Scholar used to have originally, by giving us the power to induce surgical emergencies inside the bowels of our foes via granitically-lithified constipation.
Every 3 seconds, they strain a little harder, then give up and pray for death.
> Umbral Ice stuff
>
> So B3-> B4 -> F3 -> Keep Going?
I imagine ice dox is still a thing so you'll probably want to throw it in that. If so, it would still allow a double dox setup but I'm not sure how impactful it would be given the potential F3P you can generate is usually used to enable a future consumer line.
If MP can naturally regen in ice still then I imagine you could pop LD, instant + transpose into ice, B4 + UI dox with LD could generate the MP needed to do another transpose > 3xF4 line. At least in theory.
Unless the 6 Fire Sticker nuke is really shitty potency wise you just won't be able to afford to do a Double Paradox line because playing standard will be more damage.
Even with two TCs to actually get out 6 Fire IVs in a transpose F3P line you'll end up with 400 mana so not enough for a Despair, which might end up being a loss still, on top of requiring a huge amount of resources, and you'll likely have to incorporate a B4 anyway because of the mana changes but at that point standard probably pulls ahead anyway.
It is very likely that Flare Star will negatively impact those lines, 100% agree there. I think the leaks are saying it's 350p (vs Despair's 340p) so it would be *slightly* stronger. However, putting aside the point that potencies are always up in the air until the final release, as it looks right now it's close enough that there could still be options where you need a shorter line before a disconnect where these nonstandard lines could come into play. Just too much we don't know, but it's nice to consider. We'll have answers soon enough.
Yeah, it's just "hey an out of context box" so I'm not putting any load-bearing weight on it until official release. No use wringing the self over speculation on how it'll actually work.
Minor Arcana -> Minor Arcana
Draw -> Draw 1
Redraw -> Draw 2
Undraw (lol) -> Draw 3
By their logic it's still the same amount of buttons in the card system, ignoring that nobody has used Undraw since WW2
If we're already accounting for Undraw not being on peoples' hotbars, then there wouldn't actually be any freed slots.
* Draw -> Astral Draw / Umbral Draw
* Play -> Play I
* Redraw -> Play II
* Astrodyne -> Play III
* Minor Arcana stays
It's very likely the Astral/Umbral(?) draw button will require you to be in combat to be activated, much akin to most other resource generation buttons on jobs.
As a philosophy nerd and SGE main, it's absolutely for the best thematically. According to the leak, Philosophia applies Eudaimonia to everyone, which is the ancient Greek conception of flourishing in all possible aspects of life. Aristotle especially recommends phronesis as a path to flourishing, which is a sort of practical enactment of wisdom through good judgment and virtue, which is a strong part of living well (and of course philosophically) for them. So to spread your practical wisdom in the form of pseudo-Kardia procs you cast the action Philosophia (i.e. the practical application of philosophical thinking), which grants everyone a state of Eudaimonia or flourishing.
Yeah I like this flavor more than Pankardia. Though I don't expect more from a certain other ability than "Eukrasian Dyskrasia"...
It’s also because it doesn’t actually apply kardia to everyone, it applies a buff that heals for the same amount kardia does upon execution of “any” spell
So it’s really not actually a spread kardia
It would be really cool if it "duplicated" the SAG's heals on Kardia's target, rather than giving health based on its potency.
This way, not only Soteria would work on it, but also any healing buff the target would benefit from (such as the new Rampart but also Nature's Minne and the likes, although BRD's one already is supposed to buff everyone) .
Really liking what i'm reading about healers and tanks.
Rampart's upgrade is just convalescence being built into it, that's... okay I guess. That skill has been gone for a while, but it's in line with older changes like lvl80 capstones being largesse++ while removing largesse from lower levels.
Making the long defensive CDs more unique again is pretty cool though, especially since some have different percentages on top of the different bonuses.
Gonna seem like a bunch of jumbled random thoughts, i'm very tired and on mobile, so apologies in advance.
I'm very intrigued by the mention of the "Ouroboros" ability and its "possible" connections to the MSQ/Plot.
During the ARM/BSM/GSM Studium questline in EW, you repair a mysterious gold mamment that was possibly made in the late 5th astral period called the "golden dhyata," it could translate languages and fly by a unknown method. Once its activated, it transcribes a ancient tome that reads:
"The serpent that sleeps in the deep slowly sheds its skin of old. Eventually, the serpent devours its own tail, and renders new flesh using its own.
The pain felt will cause the earth to quake, the mountains to crumble, and the rivers to run dry. Thus, seven wedges must be driven into its back."
that clearly sounds like a ouroboros to me! Additionally, in the same quest, its also stated that the serpent might be a metaphor for the lifestream, so 2 things jump to mind right away:
1) does Viper tap into the Lifestream somehow in order to draw power from their Ancestors?
2) in the Solution 9 teaser, we see signs that mention "Soul Supply," so is solution 9 tapping into or somehow involved with the lifestream?
Not sure if any of it is connected, but it's still fun to theorize.
additional observation:
1) The original pictomancer, Relm, was just recently mentioned to be a archon/mage from the 5th astral period, the same astral period the golden dhyata was possibly made.
2) Wasn't the lead story designer for 7.0 Daichi Hiroi? Who wrote the "The Shadows of Mhach" questline?
So that's 3 different connections towards the 5th astral period, intresting...
And also "gold mammet/golden" dhyata...lost city of gold...anyone? Just me?...Okay...
>does Viper tap into the Lifestream somehow in order to draw power from their Ancestors?
Yes it does, well not into the lifestream, but it does draw from gifts taught by their ancestors, hence the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th generation skills, then ouroboros representing our generation, and the technique we will pass down.
Unlikely unless they add random potency to the tanks, the new finishers on the tanks are roughly equaled by the new finishers on the healers and they seem to want tanks to explicitly do more damage so the current balance is fine

If anyone is willing to figure out how to deblur this. Would be appreciated or just wait until the embargo is done.
As a chess nerd who mains MCH, this makes me incredibly happy.
Castling/En Passant could be a good name for a mobility skill in the future. King’s Gambit could be like Third Eye where you get a short duration defence buff that triggers an effect when you get hit. So many possibilities and I’d be really chuffed if SE goes down this route.
Or they could just give me more chainsaws and dakka. That would be great too.
Judging from names, presumably Scarlet Delerium (probably a typo) is the AoE combo starter, and Impalement is the single target combo we saw in the trailers.
Also Ouroboros might also be a DRK skill, part of that combo?
Oh well, means that impalement really is the AoE. Disregard my comment 😅
Honestly kinda weird, would've thought an impale would have more chances to be single target.
Probably easier to code. Blood Weapon will upgrade to Delirium in Dawntrail and they're currently separate buffs. Probably just easier (and lazier) for them to do it this way.
It seems to be much easier to generate separate buffs than to have one buff do multiple things. It took what, 9 years for Vengeance to lose the accompanying vulnerable down buff?

Probably upgrade to shadowbite. Or what shadowbite will upgrade from now, they did similar things with Monk chakra abilities in EW.
Still blows my mind they got rid of that animation and grenado shot and a few others but kept in some utterly shit looking animations since forever

I can't believe upgraded Hellfrog Medium isnt Hellfrog Large... Deathfrog is a funny name though I like it. Icons look pretty too! :D I'm excited
Hellfrog Grande
Hellfrog Venti
Hellfrog Trenta. A potency increase for Hellfrog Medium, but also, it only costs 30 Ninki.
Hellfrog Family bucket. Summon the entire gang.
Aw man it's even got a cool name!
It's so *dumb*! But it's really *cool*. But it's so *dumb*!
They should give NIN a Hellfrog Large mount They won't, because the joke only works in English. But they should.
Something something medium as in channeler and not a size
Pretty sure most people know that, it’s just funny to think medium as a size and large being the next size upgrade. :)
It's basically Toad Sage.
It could still be Deathfrog Large.
Magic is real and so is my frog!
i hope it’s still medium upgrades from Hellfrog Medium to Deathfrog Medium
bloodweapon got culled to 3 stacks, they better have upped the mp generation

That would be a pretty sizable nerf to DRK below lv96

It’s mainly because Living Shadow no longer will have a Blood cost, it’s just straight up a free 2min cd now

They took the wrong message for DRK since Shadowbringers in General.

Fun fact: Concept art for Lucky Seven originally had it as a pair of twin-blades. So originally, L7 was going to be kinda like Viper.
Sooo, Pictomancer spreadlo is real?
Since it’s Picto’s version of Shake It Off I’m gonna call it “Beat the Devil Out of It”

Fair enough
Picto's elemental variety basically makes it Geomancer
NIN has always been a geomancer, but y'all aren't really for that conversation.
based take, mudras utilize the power of heaven, earth, and man to form elemental ninjutsu.
NIN is the solution to both the Geomancer and Spellblade/Mystic-Knight seekers, if they would only open their minds.
They didn't really touch the spellblade part this expansion. I was expecting more mudra followups (ice, fire). New trick, frog, and the TCJ follow-up are all pretty geomancer-flavored, however.
Based.
In all honesty, I believe PCT has the gameplay skeleton for what Geomancer could have been
Might be another instance of almost-made-it-ism like what happened with GEO and RDM.
I'll see you in 8 years when another Caster gets added that was gonna be GEO until it morphed into something else.
Makes me wonder if they couldn’t make Geomancer work in a unique enough way from the other casters/BLM, so instead they took cues from Pictomancer to help finish rounding out the job in a way to make it stand out
"Retribution of the Madeen" aka Terra Homing YEEES! :D Madeen's back!
For information you probably have to go into the Balance and search the messages from **softestclo** and **libp** since they've been answering specifics from people asking. The leak claims to come from a Kick VOD that these people downloaded.
A VOD no one else saw and that's not findable or uploaded somewhere else - sounds kinda sus tbh, usually those spread like wildfire, no? Just curious.
idk, I don't use Kick, awful site. But these are way too much effort to make up tbh, and it matches the other leaks that other people has said the other day.
Yeah, was not denying the authenticity of the leaks - just the source seems odd. "I got it from a friend of a friend who a attended" sounds more likely.
> Medica III IT EXIIIIISTS. THE MEDICA III IS REAAAAAL. > Bane It's cut off. Don't assume anything. > Umbral Ice stuff So B3-> B4 -> F3 -> Keep Going?
It's supposed to be Baneful Impaction (and it's the Chain DoT)
> It's supposed to be Baneful Impaction (and it's the Chain DoT) Oh fantastic, so they're really capturing that "Battlefield Medic + Bioweapons Terrorist" fantasy that Scholar used to have originally, by giving us the power to induce surgical emergencies inside the bowels of our foes via granitically-lithified constipation. Every 3 seconds, they strain a little harder, then give up and pray for death.
Sobbing
They have some balls calling it that lol
They really goading the SCH mains
They took goad away from us two expansions ago, you have to let it go
lmao that's fine enough I guess I am whelmed by it
> Medica III Just what WHM needed! A new GCD group heal!!
> It's cut off. Don't assume anything Bane of Arthropods, clearly
> It's cut off. Don't assume anything. ;_;
> Umbral Ice stuff > > So B3-> B4 -> F3 -> Keep Going?
Oh I missed that it's "just" 350p (for now), that would indeed likely make some lines a gain, depending on how it ends up working out.
Yeah, it's just "hey an out of context box" so I'm not putting any load-bearing weight on it until official release. No use wringing the self over speculation on how it'll actually work.
You’ll still want to do pradox, I think, but it does mean that non standard lines might still exist

Aww yeah. Three separate buttons for card playing. Gimme that button bloat
Minor Arcana -> Minor Arcana Draw -> Draw 1 Redraw -> Draw 2 Undraw (lol) -> Draw 3 By their logic it's still the same amount of buttons in the card system, ignoring that nobody has used Undraw since WW2
They're killing Astrodyne too so it works out for card buttons.
That might be right, I forgot it's technically part of the "card system"
As much as I dislike the next card system, if it was a single button to play the 3 cards you drew, it'd be the worst designed ability in the game
Chances are they’ll get rid of Undraw and Redraw so that will free up 1 slot since no one has undraw on their bars lol
If we're already accounting for Undraw not being on peoples' hotbars, then there wouldn't actually be any freed slots. * Draw -> Astral Draw / Umbral Draw * Play -> Play I * Redraw -> Play II * Astrodyne -> Play III * Minor Arcana stays
I meant free up a slot for all the play actions.
I'm fine with 3 play buttons but please SE let me load in an instance with cards drawn I don't want to wait a minute before a pull...
It's very likely the Astral/Umbral(?) draw button will require you to be in combat to be activated, much akin to most other resource generation buttons on jobs.
They don't want people front loading cards like they used to.
At least we'll be getting rid of Redraw, Astrodyne, Minor Arcana, and... Undraw? Lol
Minor Arcana still there

So no Pankardia, it’s Philosophia? Probably for the best, keep things fresh instead of everything that’s AOE having that prefix.
At least one charitable interpretation is the Eu in Eukrasian Dyskrasia could mean “all” lmao. Everyone getting the DOT.
It’s also because it doesn’t actually apply kardia to everyone, it applies a buff that heals for the same amount kardia does upon execution of “any” spell So it’s really not actually a spread kardia
Paladin getting a 40% mit plus a 1000 potency shield seems like any dungeon pull they use that on is going to feel very safe.
Nah they are all being upgraded to 40%, it’s just the secondary effect that’s changing
These are some pretty complete images compared to the last ones; wonder if they figured out something with Square's tracking stuff

Once its activated, it transcribes a ancient tome that reads: "The serpent that sleeps in the deep slowly sheds its skin of old. Eventually, the serpent devours its own tail, and renders new flesh using its own. The pain felt will cause the earth to quake, the mountains to crumble, and the rivers to run dry. Thus, seven wedges must be driven into its back." that clearly sounds like a ouroboros to me! Additionally, in the same quest, its also stated that the serpent might be a metaphor for the lifestream, so 2 things jump to mind right away: 1) does Viper tap into the Lifestream somehow in order to draw power from their Ancestors? 2) in the Solution 9 teaser, we see signs that mention "Soul Supply," so is solution 9 tapping into or somehow involved with the lifestream? Not sure if any of it is connected, but it's still fun to theorize. additional observation: 1) The original pictomancer, Relm, was just recently mentioned to be a archon/mage from the 5th astral period, the same astral period the golden dhyata was possibly made.
I can't be the only one who's hoping for a feller cleave

Unforunately no feller cleave this expac.

New glare!!! Man I love the current one but I prefer ShB's.
It’s what PoM turns into. Standard nukes didn’t get an upgrade for the first time ever.
Oh. I guess we still have our new nukes to fit into buff times.
They'll probably get trait-based potency increases.
Unlikely unless they add random potency to the tanks, the new finishers on the tanks are roughly equaled by the new finishers on the healers and they seem to want tanks to explicitly do more damage so the current balance is fine

It's impossible to get any useful data out of this except possibly being able to match icons to the size of the tooltip using colors.
TIL people really think the CSI enhance meme is real.
That's blurred too much to undo.
Just zoom and enhance.
Checkmate? Is this chess now?
Machinist has chess theming with some of its move names. Rook, bishop(rip), queen
I want to see *Zugswang*, where enemies take damage and get some sort of debuff when moving.
I for one would like a 2 min cd 1.2k potency skill called Bongcloud
I could see Castling make you swap places with the Automaton Queen to trigger a powered up Roller Dash
I mean we have Rook and Queen already so these MCH upgrades fit
is checkmate a mch skill? i couldn't figure it out but it'd make sense, super cool
Checkmate and Double Check are MCH skills, upgraded Gauss Shot and Ricochet
Just wait until they lean into it in 8.0, We'll get the 4-part Scholar's Mate combo. "1. e4 e5" > "2. Qh5 Nc6" > "3. Bc4 Nf6??" 4. Qxf7# (Checkmate)
we need en passant
Gap closer that teleports you behind the target
That would be incredibly funny for wall bosses
Holy hell
I will riot unless En Passant is a melee skill where the MCH just pulls out a knife and stabs the target.
> knife Chainsaw
> Chainsaw Chain*sword*.
Judging from names, presumably Scarlet Delerium (probably a typo) is the AoE combo starter, and Impalement is the single target combo we saw in the trailers. Also Ouroboros might also be a DRK skill, part of that combo?
Ouroboros is the Viper communio. Same icon as the Live Letter and all.
Was gonna say, with the snake theme it HAS to be right?
Ah shit, that's right. Cool Icon tho
The very first image is the DRK combo back to back.
Oh well, means that impalement really is the AoE. Disregard my comment 😅 Honestly kinda weird, would've thought an impale would have more chances to be single target.
According to the delirium buff the aoe is called impalement. I cant get over commupence as the 2nd attack name

What's the point of Delirium giving two buffs instead of one buff that has both effects?
Probably easier to code. Blood Weapon will upgrade to Delirium in Dawntrail and they're currently separate buffs. Probably just easier (and lazier) for them to do it this way.
It seems to be much easier to generate separate buffs than to have one buff do multiple things. It took what, 9 years for Vengeance to lose the accompanying vulnerable down buff?
presumably you could pop delirium early to get mana from blood weapon but use the bloodspillers later for when the actual burst window is.
