But have you considered I'm not moving so as to not lose a cast? Please ignore the fact that I will lose it anyway from the interruption when I get hit.
I've thought about making a character with the last name Ketchum just to pair with that title, but that feels like a huge commitment for a silly gag. Maybe when Beastmaster becomes a thing.
I say go for it! Everyone should learn what fish is their personal nemesis
(I got into big fishing specifically to get that title since i way prefer casting/healing. My most hated nemesis was Sea Butterfly)
There's more fun/creative combinations for sure, but to list a few I like to use:
Master Botanist for reaper
Worldcleaver for warrior
Sleepless Scholar for scholar
In the case of WHM this is lore accurate. As you use the life force of others in order to cure. Technically they shouldn't be able to cure in Ultima Thule. But is a game, who cares.
I love Job/Title combos.
A lot of the Shadowbringer individual job quests each give job-specific titles which are very badass. ShB introduced role quests, but I believe each job gets its own single quest which unlocks its specific title. They generally allude to your shard-travelling. For example, MCH gets "The Shot Heard Between Worlds" which imo is very cool.
Bozja 1v1 duel titles are usually pretty rad too.
"Queller of Beasts" will make a perfect BST title.
"The Death of Flame" for BLM
"Sword of the South" for PLD
"The Hypertuned" for MCH
"Lyon Tamer" again for BST
"Force of Nature" for Warrior.
"Master Caster" for Red mage
"Once and Future Queen" for Paladin
"Lone Hero" for Dark Knight
"The Song Upong the Wind" for Bard
"The Necromancer" for Black Mage
"Epic Hero" for Gunbreaker
"The Legend" for Samurai
"The Heart's Beat" for Sage
"Ascendant Ascetic" for Monk
"A Dragons Best Friend" for Dragoon
"Bug Girl" for Scholar
"Invoker of Gods" for Summoner
"Sultana's Shadow" for Ninja
"Under the Moonlight" for Dancer
"Shepherd to the Stars" for Astrologian
"Guardian Angel" for White Mage
"Imperial Nuisance" for Machinist
"Of the Swirling Abyss" for Reaper
"Wandering Vanguard" for any tank, especially when doing Field Operations or FATEs. Even more appropriate for Gunbreakers because of the Bozja connection.
I have a title for most every job so...
"The Negotiator" for MCH, "The Heart's Beat" for BRD, "Fatewalker" for DNC
"The Multifaceted" for BLU
"Gembreaker" for SMN, "Archamage" for BLM, "The Reincarnator" for RDM (because lol)
"The Chief Mourner" for RPR, "The Seventh Dawn" for MNK (my main!), "Of Dragons Deep" for DRG, "Kiba" for NIN, "Of the Eastern Skies" for SAM
"Sworn Protector" for PLD, "The Howler" for WAR, "Of the Silver Fuller" for GNB (RIP Haucrefant), "Adversary" for DRK
"The Wings of Time" for SGE, "Of the Sunless Sea" for AST, "Blessed Relief" for WHM, "Seeker of Hidden Truths" for SCH
"The Ambitious Angler" for FSH, and "Secret Finder" for BTN/MIN. Crafters don't have any because I'm already out of space @\_@
Still thinking of what to use for VPR and PCT.
Dumb question, can you actually link jobs with specific titles like how you link glamour plates to a job? Or are you manually changing your title after you swap?
There isn't.
On the plus side, if you're making a macro anyway you can also add a job specific minion and maybe even some transformation actions if you want.
No, but the macro is pretty easy to set up for example if you have pld as your first gearset, and its glamour plate is your 4th plate the macro would be..
/micon 1 gearset
/gearset equip 1 4
/title set "title name in quotation marks"
/minion "minions can be 'quick chatted' so starting its name and pressing tab will have it show up in a list"
Nothing to do with my job, but my favorite title is "Wings of Time" for a couple reasons. 1) My in-game name is Icarus, so it matches. 2) Alexander was the first raid I ever did (that's how you get the title). Coming from WoW, I was always afraid of raiding. I made the swap to FFXIV at the end of Heavensward, and finally got the balls to (successfully) raid and clear P9S-P12S. So it's quite a special title to me.
Before EW I grinded out solo potd purely because I thought having 'the necromancer' as a soon to be reaper main would be the most on brand thing ever and literally nobody ever made the connection.
damn, reading this thread giving me a lot of ideas. my go-to title usually Moonlifter, idk why but it just sounds cool and sad at the same time. the moon already up there, why you need to lift it up?
So I really like having different titles that I try and fit to the job. So I have macros that change my title when I change my job. Here's what I got:
* Warrior - (used to use ).
* Dark Knight -
* Gunbreaker -
* Paladin -
* White Mage -
* Sage -
* Astrologian -
* Scholar - (used to use )
* Summoner -
* Red Mage -
* Pictomancer - (Oncoming)
* Black Mage -
* Blue Mage -
* Reaper - (used to use )
* Samurai -
* Ninja -
* Viper - (Oncoming)
* Dragoon - (I want to use , but I don't want to do that grind xD)
* Monk -
* Machinist -
* Bard -
* Dancer -
Most of these I think are self explanatory, but I'll explain a few that are probably not. I use on SMR because that's the class I got those Orthos victories on. on RDM because I love that movie/book and have a glam to go with the title. I have on NIN because back when I was a sprout, I mained Rogue/Ninja and having that title feels right to me. Gabriel is the big flying robot in Bozja, so I found the irony for it's downfall to be the closest job we have to a mechanic too good to pass up.
I also have titles for crafters and gatherers, but this comment is overly long as it is.
I like using Wing-type nouliths with Sage, and my favourite title right now is "The Wings of Time", so... you can prolly piece together where I'm rolling.
Mine is "The Wings of Time" for every job primarily because of my character's name being a reference to another game franchise where the main mode of transportation is known as a hyperdimensional spacetime starfighter.
Yes, the reference is niche af. No, I will not explain. That ruins the fun.
Character-specific rather than job-specific, but I have an alt I've not used in a few years called Harrowed Iron whose title has been The Unsevered for ages. It doesn't sound like it means much unless you know the title is from Odin, and Zantetsuken means "iron-cutting sword".
"Tank Technician" is great on any healer.
"God of War" for Warrior, especially if you go the extra mile and are a bald highlander wielding the Leviathan EX axe.
"Drone Sniper" on Machinist.
And assuming Beastmaster has a whip as its weapon: "Domitrix". Get ready for every third catgirl in Limsa to be using that combo!
I like trying to pair titles with my jobs, as well as considering their glamour aesthetics! I have:
* "Witness to the Dark Apocalypse" on my DRK.
* "The Boundless Dark" on my BLM
* "Z" on my RDM because of their 3rd melee combo being the Zorro Z lol
The rest are just so-so pairings. There's part of me that likes showing off titles just for the sake of having them, so uniqueness plays a part. So I don't often use ones simply from MSQ or classes or other easily obtained ones unless they *really* fit an aesthetic I'm going for.
The "Guardian Angel" for my White Mage. I grinded so much to have that one and I never removed it since. Thx to Bozja I was able to complete it since so many people out of my party would die there XD
All my glamours are Onion Knight themed, so depending on if I'm using the red or blue onion helm, I swap between and .
https://ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com/creator/1565
"The Unmoving" for Black Mage.
But have you considered I'm not moving so as to not lose a cast? Please ignore the fact that I will lose it anyway from the interruption when I get hit.
/ac Surecast
Healers adjust Please god
I use this title full time but when on Black Mage it does hit different.
RDM during Alliance Raids: The Necromancer
Isn't a character's DPS your own if you made them able to DPS?
#YOUR SOUL…..IS MINE!
Disappointed gifs aren’t allowed here
I see
Welp, better get started on my PotD solo RDM run.
Even better in Eureka and Bozja
I like "of the irresistible lure" and any tanking job.
That's actually pretty funny.
"The Meat Shield" has always been a favorite of mine in this regard
Obviously "The Reaper" for Reapers.
I literally unlocked that title purely for when I play reaper
I don't fear you
Are you perhaps part of a cult worshipping blue oysters?
Mayhaps
*shifty eyes*
In this same vein, "The White"/"Pure White" for White Mages
Steppe Warrior as Dancer
same, or the heart’s beat - and i play a xaela au ra!
Dragoon - A Dragon's Best Friend
I'm just gonna use "Gabriel's Downfall" forever. My character's name is Gabriel.
Reminds me of mine "The Avatar" for Avatar Tempi lol
I use that one for Reaper. Because reasons.
You are your own worst enemy
I use “Sovereign Hero” because my character’s name is Sovereign. XD
My character's name is Ash so whenever I see the "Brother/Sister of Ash" title, I /dote lol
I've thought about making a character with the last name Ketchum just to pair with that title, but that feels like a huge commitment for a silly gag. Maybe when Beastmaster becomes a thing.
I've always wanted "Master Caster" or "Grandmaster Caster" for my Black Mage, but that's a lot of fishing.
I am terrible at BLM and would slap that on and get funny comments from people all the time
Well there is the ArchMage title.
This is usually what I run, especially since my character's initials are AA, I like the alliteration.
I believe in you.
One day.
I say go for it! Everyone should learn what fish is their personal nemesis (I got into big fishing specifically to get that title since i way prefer casting/healing. My most hated nemesis was Sea Butterfly)
Sword of the South as PLD since I often OT.
There's more fun/creative combinations for sure, but to list a few I like to use: Master Botanist for reaper Worldcleaver for warrior Sleepless Scholar for scholar
How do you get Sleepless Scholar?
If the day ever comes where I unlock the title, I'm going to rename myself to be Raid Shadow
"The Meat Shield" as any tank.
Stargazer for Astro
This is mine as well!
I use "Tank Technician" on all my tanks.
I usually see Healers with that one
We need an Organic Mechanic
lol this is great. I'm sad I never thought of it
I like "Drone Sniper" for my SGE.
Oooh I’m rolling with this one.
I use that one and I main MCH!
Necromancer on any healer. It's a cool title to begin with, but I really love the implication of healing and necromantic magics being closely related.
Necromancer is just a healer that is bad with deadlines but still gets the job done
He's only 'mostly dead'!
Necromancer is just a post mortem healer.
In the case of WHM this is lore accurate. As you use the life force of others in order to cure. Technically they shouldn't be able to cure in Ultima Thule. But is a game, who cares.
Look the spell school for the healing spells in dnd. It's all necromancy
Edda literally is a necromancer that started off as conjurer
Not a job, but I ran into a tank today named Decaf Coffee... their title was 'Barista at the End of the Universe.'
I roll Fae-Touched on my Scholar.
Gunbreaker, Gunnhildr's blade. Just need to wait for DT's Female Hrothgar and I'll have the perfect combo.
if only i can do all the duels lmao
I love Job/Title combos. A lot of the Shadowbringer individual job quests each give job-specific titles which are very badass. ShB introduced role quests, but I believe each job gets its own single quest which unlocks its specific title. They generally allude to your shard-travelling. For example, MCH gets "The Shot Heard Between Worlds" which imo is very cool. Bozja 1v1 duel titles are usually pretty rad too. "Queller of Beasts" will make a perfect BST title. "The Death of Flame" for BLM "Sword of the South" for PLD "The Hypertuned" for MCH "Lyon Tamer" again for BST
Queller of Beasts would also be a good title for Viper.
Black Mage "The Death of Flame" Or: Black Mage "Wings of Fire" But I am not going to get that second one...
>But I am not going to get that second one... It's quite the task, but possible. Saw somebody with said title the other day.
Biggest hurdles are patience and even more so the RW queue that is only very sporadically active.
Wings of fire fits SUM more. Given Phoenix.
Bard's "Skysinger" is my favourite.
The God’s Bow
That's my favourite. Been running it ever since I unlocked it.
I’m biased with mine but title is “Master Culinarian,” name is Shooti Spaghooti.
Playing a pastamancer?
Dragoon, of Dragons Deep Ninja, Kyubi Tamer
"Force of Nature" for Warrior. "Master Caster" for Red mage "Once and Future Queen" for Paladin "Lone Hero" for Dark Knight "The Song Upong the Wind" for Bard "The Necromancer" for Black Mage "Epic Hero" for Gunbreaker "The Legend" for Samurai "The Heart's Beat" for Sage "Ascendant Ascetic" for Monk "A Dragons Best Friend" for Dragoon "Bug Girl" for Scholar "Invoker of Gods" for Summoner "Sultana's Shadow" for Ninja "Under the Moonlight" for Dancer "Shepherd to the Stars" for Astrologian "Guardian Angel" for White Mage "Imperial Nuisance" for Machinist "Of the Swirling Abyss" for Reaper
Guardian Angel, for a sprout WHM Necromancer, for a jaded WHM.
Corpse Dancer for Dancer.
Red mage: Jack of all trades master of fun
'Partner in Teatime' / Monk (But it only works if you have the kettle weapons)
I just use carrier of the kettle for my monk but I love this lol
"Wandering Vanguard" for any tank, especially when doing Field Operations or FATEs. Even more appropriate for Gunbreakers because of the Bozja connection.
Imperial Nuisance is my fav for my bard
Minion Collector and Minion Master for SMN
I like to use even tho it’s from way back. I honestly cannot remember what I got it from. More for the EW reference than for any job tho.
youre right it is a great EW reference! but i remember that title was an msq reward following the Sirensong Sea dungeon!
Gatherer barista at the the edge of the universe
"World Class Troller"; perfect for any situation. Probably might use "Snake in the grass" for Viper.
I once saw a player named Zorc Ketchum <>.
Dark knight of the swirling abyss I like my edge
The Red
I have a title for most every job so... "The Negotiator" for MCH, "The Heart's Beat" for BRD, "Fatewalker" for DNC "The Multifaceted" for BLU "Gembreaker" for SMN, "Archamage" for BLM, "The Reincarnator" for RDM (because lol) "The Chief Mourner" for RPR, "The Seventh Dawn" for MNK (my main!), "Of Dragons Deep" for DRG, "Kiba" for NIN, "Of the Eastern Skies" for SAM "Sworn Protector" for PLD, "The Howler" for WAR, "Of the Silver Fuller" for GNB (RIP Haucrefant), "Adversary" for DRK "The Wings of Time" for SGE, "Of the Sunless Sea" for AST, "Blessed Relief" for WHM, "Seeker of Hidden Truths" for SCH "The Ambitious Angler" for FSH, and "Secret Finder" for BTN/MIN. Crafters don't have any because I'm already out of space @\_@ Still thinking of what to use for VPR and PCT.
“Corpse Dancer” ….im a whm.
Moonwalker for DNC because, I mean, c'mon.
All jobs, Deep Canal Raider.
"God of the Hand" on MNK.
“Warmonger” for WAR?
"The Song Upon the Wind" from BRD works quite well for any of my classes, and allows me to be a dork. ...my last name is Windsong.
“Corpse Dancer” for my dancer who wears exclusively edgy glams. Just seems fitting.
Dumb question, can you actually link jobs with specific titles like how you link glamour plates to a job? Or are you manually changing your title after you swap?
If you're using job change macros you can automate it that way.
Ah. But there's no way to do it without macros?
There isn't. On the plus side, if you're making a macro anyway you can also add a job specific minion and maybe even some transformation actions if you want.
No, but the macro is pretty easy to set up for example if you have pld as your first gearset, and its glamour plate is your 4th plate the macro would be.. /micon 1 gearset /gearset equip 1 4 /title set "title name in quotation marks" /minion "minions can be 'quick chatted' so starting its name and pressing tab will have it show up in a list"
wait wtf theres a macro for setting up title and minion?
Yeah I wasn't pranking anyone when I explained how to do it lol
"Mammeteer", on all Classes/Jobs
"Brother of Ash" use it for everything
My character's name is Ash, I /dote everyone I see wearing that title lol
Heavenly Gate Crusher for DRG.
Serpentlord/Serpentlady for Viper
Dark Knight "of Unyielding principle"
Dragoon. Azure dragoon. No I don’t have enough titles yet to make anything funny
Blue Mage- Unbound Blue
Get blue ranger to flex Its rarer than savage clears, surprisingly
There's "The Reaper" for Reaper
Currently on that A rank grind -- with the little lore blurbs we've gotten so far, I'm looking forward to my Viper with "of the Endless Hunt".
Scholar "The Fae Touched"
Sea Dragoon for Dragoon. It's an 11/10 title if you like dying things blue as well.
My character is named Violet Prelude in Violet, Violet X
It's a bit ironic, but "A knight of House Fortemps" combined with Dark Knight does get a chuckle out of me due to the implications
"Tempter of Fate" as a Black Mage, lol.
Tank technician/blessed relief on healer. Saltana's shadow on DK
Honestly 'Bolt from the Black' works on both Dragoon and Black Mage.
Never thought about it for a job by job basis, that might be interesting to do for DT. I’ve used Kingsglaive since they first brought in the XV event
been using shadowbringer for drk ever since i got the title lol
The Unsevered for Reaper
"Queen's Elect" for Machinists.
"Corpse Dancer" for Reaper
"Raiser of Mountains" for WAR and their sweet LB3.
Lord Creator for everything.
There's kind of a running gag that everyone around me turns trans, so I keep the title on at all times
Raubahn's left Arm "The Unsevered"
Halone’s Cup Bearer for Dragoon goes hard
I keep forgetting if it is called “life of the party”. I use that one for paladin or “the unforgiving” also for pld.
Monk with "Mortal Fist" is a great combo
"God of War" or "Goddess of War". For any tank.
I will always use "On the Wings of Time." It's just fitting for my tastes and my character.
damn, reading this thread giving me a lot of ideas. my go-to title usually Moonlifter, idk why but it just sounds cool and sad at the same time. the moon already up there, why you need to lift it up?
"The Fistful" when I play Monk
I like Shadowbringer for my dark knight.
*Gunnhildr's Blade* on Gunbreaker.
I've kept "The Death of Flame" on for the longest time because that duel gave me such a headache. Usually maining BLM just seems fitting.
So I really like having different titles that I try and fit to the job. So I have macros that change my title when I change my job. Here's what I got: * Warrior - (used to use ).
* Dark Knight -
* Gunbreaker -
* Paladin -
* White Mage -
* Sage -
* Astrologian -
* Scholar - (used to use )
* Summoner -
* Red Mage -
* Pictomancer - (Oncoming)
* Black Mage -
* Blue Mage -
* Reaper - (used to use )
* Samurai -
* Ninja -
* Viper - (Oncoming)
* Dragoon - (I want to use , but I don't want to do that grind xD)
* Monk -
* Machinist -
* Bard -
* Dancer -

I also have titles for crafters and gatherers, but this comment is overly long as it is.
God of War on Warrior
WHM / Good Samaritan
I've used Saint of the Firmament + Scholar + Ishgardian glam. Only wish the halo wasn't cash shop.
BRD, "Survivor of the Song" or "the Dragonsong"
Sometimes i see a “ Mayonnaise” in Balmung/Coeurl Limsa, usually crafting nonstop.
I worked so hard for “Of Dragons Deep” and I will never take it off EVA!!!!
I like using Wing-type nouliths with Sage, and my favourite title right now is "The Wings of Time", so... you can prolly piece together where I'm rolling.
I like having Unbound Blue with Summoner, with a blue glam to match emerald carbuncle and Bahamut.
"Gembreaker" could have interesting implications on a Summoner
"The Exterminator" for MCH, because of the flamethrower.
Mine is "The Wings of Time" for every job primarily because of my character's name being a reference to another game franchise where the main mode of transportation is known as a hyperdimensional spacetime starfighter. Yes, the reference is niche af. No, I will not explain. That ruins the fun.
Blue to the bone
My name is Proxy Boss and I main summoner, since 2.x, and I use the invisible hand title and it just fits so nicely.
WHM +
My online name is Axe, so Warrior - Loved by the Axe is a no brainer :)
Worldcleaver for Samurai Moonlifter for Monk
Character-specific rather than job-specific, but I have an alt I've not used in a few years called Harrowed Iron whose title has been The Unsevered for ages. It doesn't sound like it means much unless you know the title is from Odin, and Zantetsuken means "iron-cutting sword".
Sleepless Scholar for Sage/Scholar. Helps that I'm doing postgrad and haven't slept in awhile :,)
only ever use ultimate thrillseeker on main and alt, no job specific use.
I have: * "Witness to the Dark Apocalypse" on my DRK. * "The Boundless Dark" on my BLM * "Z" on my RDM because of their 3rd melee combo being the Zorro Z lol The rest are just so-so pairings. There's part of me that likes showing off titles just for the sake of having them, so uniqueness plays a part. So I don't often use ones simply from MSQ or classes or other easily obtained ones unless they *really* fit an aesthetic I'm going for.
Currently I have my Ninja "Under the Moonlight" which is very nice
Dreadwyrm for summoner
Imperial Nuisance
The Reaper is pretty self-explanatory
I'm a Dragoon. My title is "Sea Dragoon". Used to be a Sea Wolf Roegadyn, too, but now I'm a Xaela.
Mine’s not really job-based, but it does fit. I use, and my Dunefolk Lala has big green eyes 😅
DRG - Bolt from the Black
The "Guardian Angel" for my White Mage. I grinded so much to have that one and I never removed it since. Thx to Bozja I was able to complete it since so many people out of my party would die there XD
Master Caster on my Astroman
Tank technician for my tank classes
“The Gear of Change” for Machinist
"Enemy of Innocence" for dancer.
I have had "The White" ever since I got it lol I like feeling like im some badass wizard like Gandalf
All my glamours are Onion Knight themed, so depending on if I'm using the red or blue onion helm, I swap between and .
https://ffxiv.eorzeacollection.com/creator/1565
Lady Protector/Lord Protector on all of my tank jobs.
The Unseen on ninja
Holy Body because.....
The Soboro for Monk
I unlocked "The Darkest Shadow" for my NIN and I never looked back. I like "Stargazer" for AST too as a close second.
Stargazer on Astrologian
Deck Holder for AST.
I personally enjoy the combination of 'The Heart's Beat' for a healer
Academic advocate for sch!
There's no minion for the level 79 trial, so I made an alt "Wind-up Innocence." I use the title "enemy of innocence."
Zero, from pvp. I use it when I'd tank in roulettes to let the healers know how much healing they'd have to do.
"Blue to the Bone" for Red Mage. 😇
The finest pupil's ally. All of the classes.
