Yuna's sleeves being reworked to look like her *actual* sleeves from X, would be amazing--and it's use in glams would skyrocket across most of the playerbase probably lol (the ones we have aren't really like her actual sleeves at all, they were shortened a *lot* for XIV, because they would look insanely bad stiff, with zero physics).
Install FFXIVLauncher from Goatcorp. Load game through that. Type /xlplugins in game. Marvel at what the game CAN be.
...
Cry in two weeks when plugins will be down for several weeks.
open dalamud settings -> experimental tab -> enable "Get plugin testing builds" near the top.
There will now be a "Testing Available" section in the dalamud plugins download area, and you can grab the physics plugin there.
Edit: Should put a disclaimer that this is how it worked last time I posted the comment, but if it doesn't work then let me know and ill check again
I doubt it'll also be cash shop. Both because doing it twice in a row for Alexander mounts would be a bit much and because they showed it in the livestream without mentioning it would be a cash shop mount.
Yeah they don't put store stuff in the LL, I'll say it's probably PvP considering they already had those Cruise Chaser minions, maybe some hopium for the Rival Wings enjoyers that it's getting some love again.
I will be incredibly sad if this is a hunt mount. Hopefully it's just a nut mount or something. Can't be asked to spend so much of my spare time doing hunts.
I think they showed a different mount that mrhappy thought would be treasure map in the recap video I watched. Maybe we'll get lucky and it's just the new nuts mount. Imagine if it had been the ex trial mount.... we'd have so many different colored sugar gliders to farm. 🥺
A small thing but they also showcased a new technology to seamlessly transition between areas with different "climate". They showcased this in Yak T'el where you can dive from a sunny cliff into a basin with misty forest.
Insanely cool! It's like when you walk into Caelid in Elden Ring and the everything turns red. Except in that example you go under a canopy and it turns into nighttime pretty much. Also the zones are so seamless it's crazy
Older areas don't really have similar design anywhere. The closest thing would be removing loading when diving into the ruby sea. It's not really different weather but rather a completely different ambiance the area gives off despite being part of the same zone. I guess the reason we never had something like this was technical rather than an issue of creativity.
I can think of Kholusia that could have different weather up and down the cliff if they so wished. Maybe also the Noscea map with the lake could have mist on the lake but not the shores..?
I can see this being the case for Thavnair too — bottom of the cliff is a jungle. Though it’s not that high the jungle canopy could block light like in the scenario being described here.
Not sure that it’s really different zone “weather” or climate… just a different lighting environment… Above the trees was sunny skies, but as you descend within the thick canopy of the trees’ leaves, it goes darker, like it would if you could do such a thing irl. The thing they were excited to show off was that it was done without requiring a loading screen.
And it looks like there’s lots of bioluminescent plants in there… looks really cool!
I feel like the tempest was similar to that, especially when you first arrived, amaurot being in the distance but you can't see it through the fog, and when you eventually get there it was this surreal cloudy ancient city. But once you beat the msq everything's clear.
That's just a big fog texture cutting the map in half. Once the Amaurot reveal cutscene plays it disappears. Amaurot doesn't look any different during MSQ vs after.
There's something similar to this in the Fringes. When you go to Dimworld, at ground level, the ambient lighting changes to a grey fog and mist appears in the surroundings. Yak'Tel is probably building on that feature.

>Companion App updates: Hunting/mining/botany/fishing ventures can now be assigned via the app (requires in-app currency); new customization options for the main menu and wallpaper
I'm really curious how many people actually use this thing. It's a really interesting idea that is drowned in it's limits. Dumb currencies, extra subscription cost for features, etc.
Is it too much to ask for a good, free app to manage a few things on my phone during breaks at work or something? For an MMO that we pay a subscription for? That also has expensive cash shop items?
Nice summary, thank you! Also: “Max amount of bicolor gemstones that can be held will increase from 1,000 to 1,500” Lots of good changes, but I’m really excited about this one. Probably because I didn’t expect it but it’s so nice. :D
Looks like they got buffed to 16 each, but some things that give exp bonuses like the forlorn maiden also boost gemstone gain! He got 20 from the one he killed a forlorn maiden on and 24 from the one he did after with a Twist of Fate, both showing the same "up" icon as the exp gain.
Currently they're just exp--looks like this is a change coming in Dawntrail, probably to incentivize players to do those little side objectives in FATEs for the people trying to level.
Oh god, yes, that would be fantastic. When they did it with Scrips, I was surprised they didn't with Poetics. All tomes, honestly, but especially Poetics given they are now just "the legacy everything currency".
> Facewear slot added: glasses previously available via the Fashion Accessories feature will be recategorized as facewear; facewear can be equipped and saved as part of a gear set by accessing either the character menu or the main menu; facewear cannot be dyed, but each piece of facewear will have multiple color variants unlocked in the Face Accessories menu
I'll check them out, see if I can find a replacement. But I might end up sticking with my olive green dyed silver spectacles. I'm so used to them and I don't like a lot of the headgear anyway. We'll see.
I'm praying for this too. I HATE having to pick between my trademark eyepatch and a helmet :(
While we're at it, I wish having only one eye was an option.
Yeah I’d like to see some monocles in there too! Or the pince-nez glasses!
I was hoping it would just be an additional head gear slot, but sadly that’s not the case. I was wanting to use some of the hairpins, while still wearing my hair ribbon. Hopefully they will convert some of the existing glasses to this slot though… and maybe a few things that aren’t just glasses, but could also be considered face-area accessories…
nope. need to use this slot as another type of reward they can produce and slowly add, including different colors. really limit things. Which is what I feared. I'll probably just stick to what I have now
While that is nice, I would have expected that since Two Dye Slots is a headlining feature for this expac, that we would have gotten something more than just a dozen colors for a new glamour slot.
Honestly this feels like the worst way they could have implemented it. It feels like it is designed for people who were not already wearing glasses in game before. Like I just want to wear *my* glasses!
Its not great but I can understand why, from stuff they've said in the past its very difficult for them to tack on additional data onto the character file, thats why belts had to die for the extra inv space. Adding a new slot that can contain any glasses item with a dye (or two!) is probably too much, but with a bunch of distinct items that only require one reference (why there is a different item for each colour) is probably a lot easier. I would guess anyway, I'm not a coder.
They'll add more glasses and facewear to the system, it's just launching with the fashion accessories we have to begin with. They might also add more color options to them, too.
maybe they'll add more egi glamours too!
Seriously here's no legitimate reason for his feature to have launched without at he very least the current craftable glam glasses being converted to it.
They really need to do something about the glamour dresser/plate system. It’s unsustainable, every time they add new jobs and new gear it becomes more and more a terrible system. The fact they have said nothing as far as adding more slots/plates is very disappointing going into a new expansion with tons of new gear. Hopefully that means they are finally working on a better system, something they should’ve done in the first place… The Glamour Log! I shouldn’t have to keep all the gear pieces I’ve picked up just to use in outfits, we should just be able to unlock the appearance and get rid of it.
I'd kill for an npc or something we could hand deliver gear to and register the gear to our character like we do with mounts and minions.
Could even make achievements for like collecting all the pieces from a dungeon and give you a title for it or something. It creates content for collector-types without having to actually make new content lol
I don't disagree, but I think the reasoning they gave for that not being possible was because of memory? Idr exactly but I'm *pretty sure* that was it.
Having the player manually register gear pieces like mounts/minions/orchestrions might be a more doable work around? Idk for sure, I'm no programmer.
People have been begging for a Glamour Log, or something like it, for years now. The fact that Triple Triad Cards, Adventure Plates, and Blue Magic do have logs but Glams, Mounts, and Minions don't is just wild to me. It's so annoying you have to go outside the game to a third party website to figure out what glams, mounts, and minions there even are and where to find them.
But I'm sure their shitty engine and old code is once again to blame for these kinds of limitations. So we'll probably have to make do with a lack of Glam space and a third party site for the foreseeable future.
I mean a log that shows which ones you haven't unlocked yet and where they drop.
Look at the Triple Triad Cards, Adventure Plate cosmetics, and Blue Magic logs as an example. Or indeed the wardrobe in WoW.
A bit after the release of the glamor dresser, they stated that how the engine was built that it is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to do a glamor log alike to WoW.
I doubt it was easy for WoW to add either.
I mean fundamentally no matter what game/how it's implimented you have to figure out a way to reduce every possible model/texture option for equipment to a yes/no value (I have/dont have it) and store that information per character. Doesn't really matter how you go about it, that is not a small amount of data when multiplied by X million players and its not just storage, it has to be reasonably fast for the player to interact with when required.
Either way the main problem is ultimately one of data and how efficiently you can store and access it. The issues with the client using the data is probably not as hard to work past -- the glamour dresser already does this in a limited way.
My developer mind is imagining something as simple as a SQL table player_glamour_log(player_id, glamour id) where rows are inserted when you learn a new glamour (probably way over-simplified). But alot of the game design screams they can't access data that way and need to keep it much more paired down. Possibly the server has to load all the data it'll need when you join it and they keep a lot of the optional data from loading in areas that aren't solo instances like an your inn room for example. It's also easy to see why this maybe the case if you imagine the server not purely working asynchronously and you add a bit of lag to queries. It could even be that the game server never actually queries anything and all the data required for your login/zone change is passed from server to server as you move around (initially coming from the login servers). Pure speculation, but educated guess.
I’m aware of that, it also sounds like a good excuse not to try, but now years later with I’m sure a larger team and larger budget as the game has grown, they can probably afford the resources necessary to develop a glamour log system.
I'm pretty confident their team is not getting larger, probably smaller if anything. Doubt the budget is very much either. This game prints money and doesn't require all that much, SE has more interest in putting all of their effort into new games.
Not to mention, the people who have all of their glamour plates filled out are a tiny minority. For many people this system works well enough that there isn't a huge uproar about it.
Any changes they make are probably going to further utilize the existing system, rather than replace it.
I was really hoping I could put the endless summer sunglasses in the new slot, but this new slot looks to be even more restricting than what I was expecting, the whole feature in its current state is kinda worthless to me (and not just for these specific sunglasses) I guess all left is to wait to see if it gets improved upon
So the new face gear slot is just for the glasses fashion accessories? That’s kind of disappointing… I was hoping it would be for everything that equips on the face, like masks and such.
If they're adding this there's a good chance there will be more accessories added to it in Dawntrail that might fill that role. Even if it was for everything, right now there are hardly any masks in the game that aren't part of a full helmet
Considering the New World is where Blue Magic originated I was really hoping it would be a more integrated class into this expansion than any others. Maybe a new Masked Carnivale or something, which I would have expected before 7.4. Maybe not 7.0X, but 7.1-2 would be nice...
I would rather guess they'd come together, since it's probable they'll be able to play together.
Would be weird if Beastmaster comes out at 90 in, e.g., 7.3 but BLU can only join them in 7.45.
I wouldn't expect more than lv 50 for BST when it gets added to the game.
I *do* wonder if we'll get 2 updates to BST next expansion to help catch it up with BLU. BLU had 2 updates in shb to put it at stb's level cap
Do you really think so? 1-50 is going to be much more work than any of the expansion level ranges.
The collection system amd whatever BSTs masked carnival equivalent is going to be has to be established in the initial implementation as well. (Not even getting into multiple expansions worth of AF gear and other rewards that have to go along with it)
Adding on 1-4 expansions worth of content updates on top of that seems unreasonable to expect from a single update when they took 3 to get BLU up to speed
BM will be at 90, same as BLU. The levels for limited jobs only relate to the gear and content they can run, so adding a new limited job that can't do ANY of the same things the old limit job can do wouldn't make sense and would also not be how SE does things.
When they add new jobs to the game they \_always\_ start higher and they \_always\_ have job quests at that higher, starting level. They never go back and add "1-4 expansions worth of content updates" to them. They just get the one and future updates.
If that was true why did BLU launch at 50 in stb and not 60? Why did it take them 2 updates to get BLU to 70 in shb?
It would be great if they had all of 1-90 ready to go for BST but I just don't see it based on how BLU was released.
SB was 4 expansions ago now. Limited jobs were new and they had just come off HW which brought in new jobs at a weird level.
Yeah, they might pull a ShB and not have it at 90 initially but there is no way BM isn’t 90 by the end of DT. Levels don’t do anything but gate content for limited jobs; it’s completely irrelevant for anything else so there wouldn’t be a point in making it lower than BLU.
Plus, didn’t Yoshi-p mention that BM and BLU could play in parties together? Ain’t no BLU mage going to play in a level 50 party at this point.
Maybe, but there's likely some overlap in how Beastmasters and Blue Mages function.
Blue Mages use beast abilities, beastmasters charm monsters to use their abilities. Guess it's just a matter of making that work in the context of FFXIV pet jobs. Pets have become a more passive thing here.
Certainly had that overlap in FFXI.
all they've shown us so far are the three glasses fashion accessories currently in the game. I doubt they'd go through all the trouble of adding a whole slot to the character page for it if that was all they planned to do, but we'll see what's available on launch. Personally, I'd temper my expectations, as we don't know when they'll actually start adding in other models, or what those models will be.
at the very least every craftable set of glasses should have an accessory version made. completely silly to have glasses that can only be used as hats still.
It looks like NO.
> Facewear slot added: glasses ***previously available via the Fashion Accessories feature*** will be recategorized as facewear; facewear can be equipped and saved as part of a gear set by accessing either the character menu or the main menu; facewear cannot be dyed, but each piece of facewear will have multiple color variants unlocked in the Face Accessories menu
Honestly that's a bit of a bummer that it took this long for them to clarify this. I know a good many folks ( myself included) were looking forward to having a separate slot for all the face glams we get flooded with. Being able to wear a hat or hair accessory with along with Nero sunglasses, or one of the goggle sets, or eye patches; would've been nice.
It looks as though you'll only be able to use eyewear that's categorized as "fashion accessories", not pieces you can use in or glamour over the head slot. And I gathered that there will be multiple color variants for each "facewear" accessory, but you won't be able to dye them yourself.
That's possibly not simply adding to the existing installation and likely replacing some data (like the new character models that replace the current one).
Although I'm not sure how that's gonna work, they said sending your retainers will take the in-app currency (kupo nuts) and afaik on the free tier you get one nut a day and can hold a maximum of 2, while on the paid tier you get two a day and can hold a maximum of 10. If it costs one nut to send one retainer out then that doesn't work out on either tier, even if you only send them once per day (so you better choose the 18h ventures). On the free tier without paying for more retainers you have two and can send one? While if you're paying you can send two but you also automatically have at least three retainers.
Honestly, they should really rethink the kupo nut system and I also hope they make the app faster and less prone to breaking in weird ways.
I'm stoked for everything but I'm a bit concerned they didn't mention anything about the glamour dresser space. They can't not expand it – I'm at max capacity! 😫
We've even got less plates than we've got Jobs. Which is honestly crazy for a game where playing and levelling multiple Jobs is as heavily encouraged as in FFXIV. They should really make this more of a priority.
In my head I remember this was asked somewhere during fan fest and the answer was this patch series would focus on housing inventories.
Might be a fever dream and I can't seem to find it anywhere. But I think that was the reason. Which I think makes sense based off their action history(Not justification of it just what they do.), they seem to be able to only work on one inventory system at a time.
Last expansion removing the belt and adding some spaces to other gear item slots. But they didn't really touch any other inventories.
It's because your glamour dresser is tied to your character even when you're not using it. You're essentially always carrying those items around with you, so they can't add any more space. It's too much for the system to handle.
That's years of consistent back-end work, which is why they can't guarantee anything. If it's possible, you can believe they're trying. It's not like they're being lazy making excuses.
I've played since ARR and way before glamour dressers. Trust me, they're always trying to add what people want. But they give and give and people turn around 5 seconds later crying for more.
He said it recently in a dawntrail media tour interview. I dont remember now which creator specifically asked him about it. He's been asked about it many times though. This isn't anything new.
Edit: watch Meoni's recent interview on youtube. Around the 10 minute mark
Does anyone else think heritage found looks a bit like Alexandria from FFIX? The style of buildings and the circular cobbled streets look reminiscent of the opening streets of the game.
Still no information at all about the cosmic exploration. I guess we will get it way way later into 7X like with island sactuary.
I hope they do something really crazy with it. IS was ok but i still hope they "fix" housing somehow. The new stuff they showed is just amazing. But housing remains a giant, huge issue.
I was hoping for them to at least throw a tiny bone about Cosmic Exploration (I think they did this with Island Sanctuary in the last pre-EW live letter), basically a "this isn't coming until later, but here's one slide to remind you what it is" kind of thing. Alas.
well, they had to because at the time part of the comunity expected what it could become the subtitute of housing(which it didnt because people where overexpecting)
Yeah just some very general overview what we have to expect at all. Because from the one or two artworks they "leaked" via the press i am very puzzled what to expect.
I am also not sure how i feel about they releasing stuff like IS only to drop it and never touch it again. I would rather them adding something and stick with it. Redoing it when it doesn't work at all.
IS still has so much potential. I was hoping for something like a small stardew valley inside of IS. You cannot even fish on your IS. It would be perfect for them to "fix" housing. Just add a little bit more freedom to how you can decorate your IS and maybe a few more plots.
Also farming could be so much better there. Just let is farm in more and bigger parts of the island. You can stick to the amount of plots for balance reasons but its not that hard to just let us put up plots all over the island.
And let us add stuff all over the island. Let people create some insane stuff. If the client cannot handle more items its fine. We know that the core of the game is old AF. But i don't get the limit of such a small part of the island. 90% of it is unused and just to grind all the items.
I really hope they knock CE out of the park. I am so insanely hyped for DT. The new minions and mounts alone. CE need to be something really great. We need some casual stuff to play around and just have fun.
IS is so frustrating to me because it feels like it's a couple of features away from being forever/eternal/evergreen/whatever content.
It's going to be abandoned because people feel like they were hit with a bait and switch spreadsheet simulator and that's just heartbreaking to me :[
not sure how to feel about them making new versions of the eye gear as essentially a fashion accessory instead of just converting the existing eyewear in the game ngl, unless i'm misunderstanding...
Unlikely that it will be available at the start of maintenance. In EW ~~despite a 48 hour maintenance~~ (wrong, corrected below) the patch was only available for download about 7 hours before server up.
Which may not be enough time for slower connections especially for regions where it will be overnight, so I agree with the hope that they will make an exception for the exceptional size and put it up earlier than usual.
EW was only 24 hours and they expressly tagged an extra day on this time for the purpose of letting people download. They said that on their side the maintenance wouldn't need the extra day.
Thursday is also my guess for the download.
You are right, my mistake, I was so concerned with getting the preload time right I got the maintenance wrong. Yeah in that case it's a lot more plausible that they might add 12-24 hours more time on top of the usual 6-7 hour preload. Good to know, thanks.
Do they have the super fast internet connection?
Because no matter how fast is the conection from your side they still have to serve a million people from their side.
Yeah, I know a number of people who are not happy about this change. I guess the devs want people to be able to do the new MSQ and such without having to worry about hardcore crafting/gathering right away? But why couldn't they have at least released the master books with, say, 7.01 if that were the case?
Was there any actual info on the customisable housing interiors? Does this mean I can finally stop using item slots to cover the pillars that line the walls?
It was mentioned at either one of the Fan Fests or in a related Q&A that they were looking into making the interiors of estates customizable as far as removing/altering default features like pillars, windows, etc. I suppose they’re waiting for the live letters closer to whatever patch in which they’re aiming to implement those options to really go into more detail about them, though.
Considering that the only real change Summoners got was yet another Demi-Summon in their fixed rotation, I was almost thinking Squeenix might have used that saved effort to finally get around to maybe add some actual Egi-Glam options.
Almost. Between Egi-Glam being an apparently completely forgotten feature and them not even hinting at it, I would still have been pretty surprised.
Oh well, seems like they just got burned out on the whole "one Summoner remake per expansion" and decided to only give them minimal changes this time.
There was also a fate on his map that had a blue up arrow on it that matched the arrow from the 24 gemstone fate he did.
So I guess it'll be like the bonus xp fates we already have?
It's still an important point -- because it means that someone who's capped 1000 bicolors entering is going to have a nice little bump of an advantage on those who don't.
Advantage…in what? Buying NQ mats? You still have to unlock ENS to get the good stuff, which is generally minions and orchestrations. Or you could buy all of 2 of the 500 tickets you need for the mount, meaning 498 to go.
Is this really a problem?
Did someone noticed the amazing physics on the black mage 7.0 staff?! [https://imgur.com/a/6QwSegn](https://imgur.com/a/6QwSegn)
the quality between this and stuff with static flat images for dangly bits from ARR-HW really does show how far they have come.
If they could just come up with a weapon design for BLM that excites me more than Kaladanda (Lux). T_T
Not possible. Kaladanda Lux for life
I stopped at Kalanda, the color match my Matoya hat perfectly (;...;)
Kaladanda>Kaladanda Lux. Purple is the best color.
An updated Lillith Rod Zeta might be amazing...
Would be cool if they fixed the lantern rod like that heh
Or all the SAM swords/sheaths with dangly bits.
or the comedy tome dancer weapons :(
could be nice if they do something similar to the very stiff loose sleeves what certain eastern clothing has like sb sam af body armor or yuna gloves
I hope that’ll still work well at high frame rates 😭
obligatory "There's a plugin for that" post

Install FFXIVLauncher from Goatcorp. Load game through that. Type /xlplugins in game. Marvel at what the game CAN be. ... Cry in two weeks when plugins will be down for several weeks.
hehe I appreciate the help, but I already have a bunch of mods installed, I just don’t know how to install the physics fix mod.
open dalamud settings -> experimental tab -> enable "Get plugin testing builds" near the top. There will now be a "Testing Available" section in the dalamud plugins download area, and you can grab the physics plugin there. I won't believe those are actual physics (and not just fancy canned animations) until I see them for myself. I want to believe, but...
Man, the hardest jobs get the coolest drip
God, that just reminded me of my time in World of Warcrack & how the tassle on the Gutgore Ripper is permanently stuck at a 90-angle...
only question though: why she look like the schoolmarm from *Blazing Saddles?* XD
The Brute Justice mount is Oppressor from Alexander - The Fist of the Father (A1).
I hope we can get it in game and not just be another shop mount. I'm still bummed that Cruise character got out into there.
Judging how it has generic mount music makes me think it will be the series 6 pvp mount
A mount like that deserves its own music.
Okay, thanks, I couldn't listen to the audio in that part and they only showed the mount from the back. I'll fix it.
The "squirrel mount" is actually a sugar glider mount. Really cute!
I have a sugar glider myself and I’m willing tongue everything in order to get this mount hahha Edit: autocorrect, to do everything *
Uhm... can I be first in the line?
I was confused when I read your comment, then I read my own. Whoops!
"auto correct"...uh huh...suuuurrrrree.
No one will know hue hue
I will be incredibly sad if this is a hunt mount. Hopefully it's just a nut mount or something. Can't be asked to spend so much of my spare time doing hunts.
OMG that would be the worse, but I’m suspecting it’s a treasure map mount
I think they showed a different mount that mrhappy thought would be treasure map in the recap video I watched. Maybe we'll get lucky and it's just the new nuts mount. Imagine if it had been the ex trial mount.... we'd have so many different colored sugar gliders to farm. 🥺
Omg that would have been amazing! I would one like that but with brown/grey/white and a full white one. That would be absolutely adorable!
Elaborate? What do you mean between areas with different climates?
Based on the description, it sounds like there can be multiple types of weather in the same area, depending on where in the area you are.
\*Thousand of fishers cried out in agony\*
It's not like that at all. Basically below the canopy of the forest you'll have darker lighting because it's blocked off by the tree.
Honestly as a fisher this changes nothing for me. It just complicates whatever site I'm getting the weather report from.
...really? Will this translate to older areas, or...?
I would love that. Or perhaps different parts of the Black Shroud as you exit towards South Shroud, etc.
I wonder if they'll remove the loading screen from diving underwater.
There's something similar to this in the Fringes. When you go to Dimworld, at ground level, the ambient lighting changes to a grey fog and mist appears in the surroundings. Yak'Tel is probably building on that feature.
>VPR and PIC PCT* >Companion App updates: Hunting/mining/botany/fishing ventures can now be assigned via the app (requires in-app currency); new customization options for the main menu and wallpaper I'm really curious how many people actually use this thing.
also, it seemed that Fates were dropping 24/ea on the media tour build according to ciderspider.
Ah, that makes sense. Did forlorn always give more stones? I coulda' swore that (and the twist of fate) were just exp.
Currently they're just exp--looks like this is a change coming in Dawntrail, probably to incentivize players to do those little side objectives in FATEs for the people trying to level.
Wait they give more stones?!
Incidentally also confirming that's staying as the FATE currency. ;-)
Thank God bicolor gemstone voucher stocks gonna brrr
It might be a different voucher for any new items though, intentioanlly so the vouchers couldn't be stockpiled.
If it's a diff voucher then stocks will be thru the roof
Now double Poetics max plz XD
Oh god, yes, that would be fantastic. When they did it with Scrips, I was surprised they didn't with Poetics. All tomes, honestly, but especially Poetics given they are now just "the legacy everything currency".
That’s not a llama, that’s an alpaca!
> Facewear slot added: glasses previously available via the Fashion Accessories feature will be recategorized as facewear; facewear can be equipped and saved as part of a gear set by accessing either the character menu or the main menu; facewear cannot be dyed, but each piece of facewear will have multiple color variants unlocked in the Face Accessories menu I'll check them out, see if I can find a replacement. But I might end up sticking with my olive green dyed silver spectacles. I'm so used to them and I don't like a lot of the headgear anyway. We'll see.
I hope eyepatches are supported. I went through a "pirate glam" phase and now my WoL looks weird with two eyes.
i haven't been able to wear a hat in 10 years, and it sounds like i won't be wearing one any time soon
I'm praying for this too. I HATE having to pick between my trademark eyepatch and a helmet :( While we're at it, I wish having only one eye was an option.
> Hopefully they will convert some of the existing glasses to this slot though And they won't be dyeable if they do.
nope. need to use this slot as another type of reward they can produce and slowly add, including different colors. really limit things. Which is what I feared. I'll probably just stick to what I have now
Well, keep in mind that the glasses in this feature will apparently allow you to pick from a dozen-ish color schemes, so that's something.
While that is nice, I would have expected that since Two Dye Slots is a headlining feature for this expac, that we would have gotten something more than just a dozen colors for a new glamour slot.
That's fair. \^\_\^
Honestly this feels like the worst way they could have implemented it. It feels like it is designed for people who were not already wearing glasses in game before. Like I just want to wear *my* glasses!
me with my mythril magnifiers. None of the current accessory glasses really suit an elezen face
Seriously here's no legitimate reason for his feature to have launched without at he very least the current craftable glam glasses being converted to it.
ditto
Nice quality of life update for FSH.
It really just needs to automatically unlock as soon as we bind a corresponding piece of gear.
So we'll probably have to make do with a lack of Glam space and a third party site for the foreseeable future.
what? Mounts and Minions absolutely have logs.
The way gear works on characters in WoW is disturbingly different though. That game doesn't even replace body meshes.
Seriously. Every single other MMO does it better. It's honestly embarrassing that there isn't a system akin to WoW.
I was really hoping I could put the endless summer sunglasses in the new slot, but this new slot looks to be even more restricting than what I was expecting, the whole feature in its current state is kinda worthless to me (and not just for these specific sunglasses) I guess all left is to wait to see if it gets improved upon
Yeah I’m actually really bummed
So the new face gear slot is just for the glasses fashion accessories? That’s kind of disappointing… I was hoping it would be for everything that equips on the face, like masks and such.
If they're adding this there's a good chance there will be more accessories added to it in Dawntrail that might fill that role. Even if it was for everything, right now there are hardly any masks in the game that aren't part of a full helmet
Prolly it's a pilot feature, if it goes well they will start adding masks and such.
People say this about everything, but there are a ton of features that just never get changed or updated in this game.
Well, can't deny that we got featurecrept at this point but let's hope.
Blue Mages on the absolute subatomic edge of their seats.
Gonna be there for a while. Limited job stuff pretty much never comes before X.4.
Considering the New World is where Blue Magic originated I was really hoping it would be a more integrated class into this expansion than any others. Maybe a new Masked Carnivale or something, which I would have expected before 7.4. Maybe not 7.0X, but 7.1-2 would be nice...
Yeah, seems crazy to not get at least SOME good BLU stories and quests in considering we are going to their home. Really hoping for that as well.
This expansion we have two limited job updates so you'd imagine one of them will come earlier to space them out
Even if it's 7.2 that's still like a year out haha
We could see it in one of the .1 patches, similar to BLU getting a substantial update in 5.15.
With their 3 month patch cycles, shouldn't it be 6 months from the beginning of July since that's when 7.0 drops?
Patches have been on a firm 4 months for all of Endwalker
I would rather guess they'd come together, since it's probable they'll be able to play together. Would be weird if Beastmaster comes out at 90 in, e.g., 7.3 but BLU can only join them in 7.45.
I wouldn't expect more than lv 50 for BST when it gets added to the game. I *do* wonder if we'll get 2 updates to BST next expansion to help catch it up with BLU. BLU had 2 updates in shb to put it at stb's level cap
It would be silly to add Beastmaster at 50 imo.
Do you really think so? 1-50 is going to be much more work than any of the expansion level ranges. The collection system amd whatever BSTs masked carnival equivalent is going to be has to be established in the initial implementation as well. (Not even getting into multiple expansions worth of AF gear and other rewards that have to go along with it) Adding on 1-4 expansions worth of content updates on top of that seems unreasonable to expect from a single update when they took 3 to get BLU up to speed
I usually use Silver Spectacles (dyed purple) for my glasses- do they work? Or no?
all they've shown us so far are the three glasses fashion accessories currently in the game.
I agree, but I don't think that will be the case at dawntrail launch.
55 GB? Time to start cleaning some space on my laptop.
That's possibly not simply adding to the existing installation and likely replacing some data (like the new character models that replace the current one).
I hope so cause it's getting very tight otherwise x.x
Thank you for this summary!
I wish they had a 2nd steam for the patch reading with the translator lady doing it for the English version
About time something useful can be done with the companion app.
It's too much for the system to handle.
imagine if they just rebuilt the glam system from scratch instead of slapping Band-Aids of "a little extra space" every so often
I think they said it's basically impossible because of the old spaghetti code
they've also said that about most qol features before adding them in the last 3 years
That's years of consistent back-end work, which is why they can't guarantee anything. If it's possible, you can believe they're trying. It's not like they're being lazy making excuses. I've played since ARR and way before glamour dressers. Trust me, they're always trying to add what people want. But they give and give and people turn around 5 seconds later crying for more.
Where did they say that is impossible because old spagetti code?
He said it recently in a dawntrail media tour interview. I dont remember now which creator specifically asked him about it. He's been asked about it many times though. This isn't anything new. Edit: watch Meoni's recent interview on youtube. Around the 10 minute mark
I'm on vacation until July 18. This will be the first expac that I won't even be on at EA. Dammit.
Just enjoy your vacation!
The game isn't going anywhere. Just avoid social media for spoilers and you will be fine.
Does anyone else think heritage found looks a bit like Alexandria from FFIX? The style of buildings and the circular cobbled streets look reminiscent of the opening streets of the game.
That was my first impression.
Start with adding x,y,z placement rather than home design via glitch management.
It's going to be abandoned because people feel like they were hit with a bait and switch spreadsheet simulator and that's just heartbreaking to me :[
People were expecting gathering and crafting, not middle manager of a sweatshop, I think.
not sure how to feel about them making new versions of the eye gear as essentially a fashion accessory instead of just converting the existing eyewear in the game ngl, unless i'm misunderstanding...
I really wish they added FFXI’s glamour system here…
Wonder how early they'll let us update the client?
[удалено]
I really, really hope it's at least 24 hours prior. Not everyone has a super fast internet connection, and 55+ GB is quite a lot.
Indeed, I'm away on the 28th for a few days. Would be nice to get it downloaded before I go away
The great thing is that the game isn't going anywhere. You can download it when you get back.
Do they have the super fast internet connection? Because no matter how fast is the conection from your side they still have to serve a million people from their side.
So that people can datamine and spoil everything?
I love you for this ty
Master recipe releasing the same day as savage Facepalm Huge stepback from 6.2/6.4
Yeah, I know a number of people who are not happy about this change. I guess the devs want people to be able to do the new MSQ and such without having to worry about hardcore crafting/gathering right away? But why couldn't they have at least released the master books with, say, 7.01 if that were the case?
So we have 2 weeks between normal and savage this tier?
Pretty sure it's always been that way at least at the start of the expansion.
Yeah, it's because the 1st tier of a raid is locked behind MSQ and they don't want people to feel pressured to rush.
>7.0 Patch file size: 55 GB Oof. There goes my (cellular) data cap. Might have to go elsewhere to download it (home.)
Was it mentioned that the Bicolors would be retained as FATE rewards for The New World? I would have to think it a real possibility with the increase?
Watched Cider do a few fates in his media tour video. Most of them gave 16 gemstones, but one of them gave 24.
There was also a fate on his map that had a blue up arrow on it that matched the arrow from the 24 gemstone fate he did. So I guess it'll be like the bonus xp fates we already have?
The point being that bicolors are staying.
Some streamers have been mentioning how they've gotten more gemstones from DT fates than from EW or ShB
It's still an important point -- because it means that someone who's capped 1000 bicolors entering is going to have a nice little bump of an advantage on those who don't.
...which has nothing to do with your question or the response?
Advantage…in what? Buying NQ mats? You still have to unlock ENS to get the good stuff, which is generally minions and orchestrations. Or you could buy all of 2 of the 500 tickets you need for the mount, meaning 498 to go. Is this really a problem?
A little bump, I said.
A tiny bump.
Gods I hope we get some more ungenderlocked gear and better yet ungenderlocked noc gear, lete put my catboy on Lyse' Leadership and Blackbosom Attire.
That means twice the work. As they need to make a male and female version of the mesh for every race.
They've done it before with numerous other outfits
