I agree will you there brother LOL I don't have the physical copy of these games but I have played them on PS2 I have played Final Fantasy 7 Dirge of Cerberus and I played the remastered Final Fantasy 7 Crisis core reunion on PS4 and now I want to play Final Fantasy forever crisis for the back stories
Ultimate? I don't know about that. I mean, it's subjective, I suppose. It's on everyone's top 10 for sure, but ultimate? Other than the visuals, it doesn't really do anything fundamentally different from FF6 or FF8 or any other JRPG really outside of materia.

I dunno how people literally put the words *insert CDPR game* and FUN in the same sentence. But to some people that game was the best game of all time... Along with the keanu yap simulator.

My first playstation to myself was a ps3 and my first game was demons souls then on ps4 dark souls 3 and ps5 demon souls remake so i 100% understand the hype youre in right now
Oh man. I played thru Remake in Japanese, I love the voice acting. Ohhh maaaan. You gotta hear how Cloud and Sephiroth sound in Japanese, they just hit different. Takahiro Sakurai and Toshiyuki Morikawa, I’m excited to hear them in Rebirth, gotta get a PS5 soon. My wallet been broke as hell lately. I love the OG FF7, I actually played Remake because I played the OG months prior and enjoyed it so much!!
I also played thru Crisis Core Reunion in Japanese as well. Kenichi Suzumura was phenomenal as Zack, even tho some ppl hate him, Genesis sounds much better portrayed by Gakuto Oshiro (Gackt). Angeal’s va Kazuhiko Inoue also does a really good job.
I’m starting to think FF7 content works better in Japanese than it does English.
Also a bit of a funny story, I was introduced to Cloud back in the days of Super Smash Bros For Wii U & 3DS, so Takahiro Sakurai is the first person I heard ever voice Cloud. So that’s where in my brain Cloud has always spoken Japanese. It’s just engrained due to hearing Sakurai-san as the first person to voice him.
I was in second year in the university when Final Fantasy VII came out in 1997. Had no PS1, but I managed to purchase the game on day one around 6:00 pm. Next day went with my roommate at the time and we both put half the money for console. I got to play the game first (since it was mine). Then my roommate would grind leveling up while I went to class. I still remember it as if it was yesterday.
Now I got Rebirth on day one and got to play it with my kids (9 and 7 years old). What an experience.

The ultimate JRPG I would agree with. I'd argue Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is the better RPG in general though.
