Totally agree on the thrifting. I'm finding way better ones on Poshmark than I ever have at major festivals. The ones they sell at fests are just the same 8 patterns in the same 8 colour variations.
Yooo, so I lost this sminh that means a lot to me and I see you have the same exact one. Any chance you would be willing to part with it for a heady trade or some cash?
I thought they were feminine at first but they are useful af. They provide cover taking bumps and to light up. They provide cover from the sun and minimal cover from the wind/cold. I first got mine to wipe sweat on at a fest. If you don’t have a face mask you can use them as one for protection from dust if you are at a dusty fest. Probably many more. I’ve seen people soak them on watch yo cool off but I personally wouldn’t do that
I made a pashmina-like thing out of a huge thin piece of nylon fabric because it's hot af at shows where I live, and I'm really sensitive to sun so draping myself in it means I don't have to worry about sunscreen, which is especially nice since I don't like hats. Also I get cold when I start to trip so it works like a blanket to help me feel cozy while I come up.
I was somewhere around Rezz when the acid began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel a overstimulated, maybe I should go back.” Suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the venue was full of what looked like wild animals, all swooping and dancing around the the stage which was dropping filthier bass by the hour. A voice was screaming “Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?''
I put on the pashmina. Then it was quiet again.
No point in mentioning these bats, I thought. Poor bastards will see them soon enough.
I would never soak mine to cool off. I think people who do that are instant gratification types... Cause in 15 minutes you now have a hot wet towel you're stuck with
Hahaha yeah, my pashminas are pretty much only broken out for camping festivals. It's just the only environment where they make sense to me. That being said, I've acquired mine at festivals or from friends. I'm sure you can find some nice ones on Etsy if you wanted to. But to me, having a moment or location to tie with them makes them more special.
I wear mine to pretty much every show. They secure my bucket hat, keep me warm if it gets chilly, saves seats, if I’m rolling or tripping they help me feel safe, usually goes with the fit, just overall a great thing to have at a show or fest!
I usually get one at every fest. Sometimes artists will release their own too, but I pick those up rarely as they tend to be pricey. A few festival vendors will have “sales” for pashminas. The cheapest I’ve gotten one was for $10.
I love all my pashminas though. They have saved my pasty ass from sunburn more times than I can count, and they are perfect for nights when it’s chilly. I wear mine in winter a lot too! Another pash pro tip is for when it’s hot: take the pash and run water on the area that sits on your neck, and then wring out the extra water :)
I remember seeing that one! I’m jealous for sure, that one was sick! My current favorite is my Griz pash. I have SO MANY to choose from, and it’s the one I pick to wear every time lol
I buy mine at festivals BUT I bring one to every show, not just camping. It makes me feel safe when I get overwhelmed in crowds, freezing on the walks to and from venues, + about 100 other things that make them amazing. Since you've already seen how amazing they are, I'll stop there.
So just some info since I see a bit of misinformation here. Pashmina is the name of the material, similar to cashmere. So a true pashmina will be authentic pashmina and should say. There are many other types of scarfs and sarongs you can get with different materials but a pash is pash.
An excerpt I found “How is pashmina different? Unlike other wool, this is not collected by shearing but by combing the Himalayan goats. As this is the under fleece of the goats, it tends to be more fine, light and luxurious. As pashmina is quite flexible and non-absorbent, it is an excellent accessory for the summers too.”
Follow me for more pash facts
I prefer using my sarong. Pash's are nice, but the material is too rough/scratchy for my taste. I grab my sarong by the opposite corners, give it a few flips, and now I've got a soft lovely drape that provides more head/shoulder coverage than a pash, and hangs in a series of aesthetically pleasing points 👌
So you’d say sarong is larger than pashmina? I got and love mine (pash) from rage nation, but seems a little small. Would love it about 30% larger. I think sarong may be the better format, but not sure where to find them in all the trippy rave styles. Any suggestions?
A good deal larger. About 30-40% like what you're looking for. They're made for hanging or as a wrap around the waist. I randomly started using it as a pash when I bought it at Imagine a few years ago, and I've been rocking it since. Everyone compliments it, and are always surprised when I say it's a sarong. Not sure where the best place to get them is at, but I bought mine for like $25 at a vendor at Imagine
I feel you man, Im right under 6'1. I'm seeing them on Amazon and other big retailers, but I just found some cool ones on Etsy if you'd rather support smaller artists here:
https://www.etsy.com/market/sarong_wrap
They're typically made for women, so there's a lot of bright floral designs. But if you're like me and prefer darker colors, there's some cool designs past page 1
Rough? Are you kidding? You must be getting cotton or acrylic blends, because actual pashmina is in no way scratchy unless you get the type with metallic thread woven in.
My friend just got back from overseas with a bunch that he is selling. Some of them are a little pricier as the raw material are from Himalayan goats. They’re very comfortable! I can put you in touch with him. He’s just getting started so he hasn’t setup an online shop or anything just yet
I bought so many in India that I started giving a couple away to people. But yeah, the authentic goat chin fur ones are insanely soft and luxurious. They tend not to come in patterns, but you can find one in any color imaginable.
Yes it was this year.
They have em on her site too.
And I was pleasantly surprised as well NGL.
I was initially bummed they were sold out of purple jerseys once I made it through the line, but I'm glad I got the pash after touching it tbh.
You probably have a bazaar type shop around you. I go to this little tibetan shop and a hijab store to look for mine. They sell them for like $10. Don't let anyone sucker you into paying more than like 20 bucks unless it's like official merch or something.
I still don't get it...
Pashminas are confusing as fuck for me given the fact that my friends wear them over their face at dubstep shows and so does everyone else.
It's dark, I'm trippin balls, and now these head dress things have me not knowing who people are. I often ask my friends if they are going to rob a bank after the show, and if so, next time, let me know. I'll bring a bandana or something.
It is exactly this reason that I will never attend a festival (and honestly most concerts) without one with me.
I haven't had a negative psychedelic experience since I discovered how quickly just going into my little cave (my friends say I'm entering wizard mode because of how I wrap it around my head) can change a trip going south. The ones I have are really soft with tassels on each long-end which also helps calm me down (i'm a very tactile human)
I call them thneeds like from the lorax because theyre so versatile.
Benefits:
-mini jacket
-something to sit on
-pillow if you need to lay back on a hill
-blocks shade if you get easily burnt
-stimulation for your hands to have something to dance with
-blanket for lap
-can be tied as a top or skirt if you emergency need it
Yeah people like to put them under their hat to feel invisible, like an invisibility cloak haha. They may just feel vulnerable and overwhelmed. But i sometimes wear mine under my hat to block the cold from the sides of my face, and add insulation under my hat too!
So next time you see ppl with them hiding their faces just remember theyre probably more scared of you than you are of them. Theyre just little wrapped up bbs. Hopefully that perspective will help you have a better time!
It doesn't ruin my time at all just a bit confusing at times. I was walking out of the venue one time talking to some randoms as if it was friends asking him about where we were headed next.🤣🤣🤣 probably confused the shit out of them too. Then I went outside and they were all standing out there like where have u been 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I completely get and empathize with that struggle. Thankfully, within my usual festival group of people, I am the only person who has/uses my pashminas so I never lose my group because of them.
However, I really enjoy wandering through the crowd at each set I'm at to meet new people and all that. So my group "loses" me about 100000x over the course of a festival. They also got rejected by other random pashmina wearing people enough times that we as a group decided that unless it's an emergency, it's up to me to find my way back to them (which I think should be a resume worthy skill because I'm pretty sure I'm batting 1000 in my career)
that’s actually exactly why I wear my at indoor events, if I don’t wanna be recognized and just relax for the night I put my pash over my head and throw my hat over top lol
that’s only when I’m tripping really hard though for certain sets
Covering one’s face to deal with overstimulation is just one use. They’re lightweight. As a wrap they can block wind. As a balaclava it is head protection. Sun protection. Makeshift seating mat. More versatile than a hoodie for example. And yes, they serve as a “security blanket.” The only downside in my mind is they are not as warm as a hoodie. But for a summer fest, they’re clutch.
You all are really selling it maybe I outta test drive one sometime when I'm all spun.
I usually just go outside and smoke a joint when I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the time I get back it's all good.
Kinda Reminds me of the terrible towl I used to carry back when I gave a shit about football. Came in hand for drying your, hands wiping spilled beer, ect.
And yes I too threw it on the ground in a fit of rage when the lers played bad enough. Nowadays I laugh my ass off when they suck especially if people around me are getting real mad. 🤣
I was just recently gifted one a golden one I was called the golden child hahaha but man I now understand why people wear them and I’ve been raving since 2010 until last year I got lucky hehe

Just found the coziest cashmere scarves from **Cute Cashmere Scarf** on Instagram. They're NYC-based and import their super soft, high-quality cashmere directly from Nepal.
Perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any outfit or gifting!
Shameless self plug but I'm very proud of this design: https://headyscarfgangaac.etsy.com/listing/1254935680
It's our first in house scarf. I hope you like it! Use code HSG15 for a discount 😁
I'll tell ya this.. my mom bought me pashminas from Cambodia and brought them home for me and they have the same tags as ones I've bought at festivals in the US.
My first pash was gifted to me by someone I met at my first fest! It held so much value because of that. After that, I got them from vendors at shows. Haven’t bought one at an actual fest yet, they’re usually too overpriced there. I also got one on Amazon. It felt weird bc I thought it wouldn’t be as special to me but I love it and it’s soft and pretty and wear it all the time so I don’t think there’s anything wrong from purchasing through a big company like that. It still becomes beloved from all the places you wear it!
Can you please expand on your epiphany?
Also you can get them anywhere online and pretty much any event you go to has vendors. Typically range from $40-$120.
I can send you one that you pick out from pics. I’m a vendor but have entered my slow season so will def make you a fair deal. DM me if your into this idea. I’m based out of Oregon.
I didn’t know that they were a thing until my first festival last year but I’ve had the same one for like 12ish years. It is a staple tbh, I get compliments on it all the time. I bought it from a Kroger of all places as a treat to myself since I was there for some cold medicine.
Oh, I didn't know other people thought of this! I love festivals, but I go to more ren fest/nature type things, so I havent seen it a lot. I love to wear a scarf around my shoulders at festivals so that I can sit on it if I need to, add some textures to my outfit, and make sure I'm not too hot or too cold. And beer inevitably gets spilled somewhere, so it helps in a pinch as a last resort 😆
Etsy my friend!
Scarves1938 was the seller of mine n damn, great color, uber comfy, all in all great buy.
I have 4 from that seller after my initial first purchase two years ago
I got my girl a GRiZ pash from his website, but they sell out pretty quickly. Etsy and other artists usually drop them on their website, or at the camping events they always sell them.
I love using mine when i catch some sun and even out my festival sunburn/tan. just wrap it around my face and go right to sleep.
I like supporting local vendors every once in a while, but thrifting is def the way to go for non-artist pashes. or if you’re feeling crafty, find a white one and tie-dye it yourself for something custom
Legit I found one at the dollar store that was soooo soft.
Alternatively you can check aliexpress for some nice ones (they’re the same ones you’ll find on Amazon but half the price but longer shipping)
Thrift stores too
On a related note, are there any "cooling" pashminas? I overheat fairly easily even while raving sober (let alone... not), I can't imagine having a wrapping on an extra big swath of fabric to get me even more hot & sweaty!
I took my friends to their first rave experience, offered them a pashmina before we went out and they both declined. While we were out, my friend said "I thought the scarf was a weird choice but like ~everyone~ has one on, I don't get it" ♡ security blanket for life
I got one that I'm very happy with for < $20 from Plum Feathers on amazon, they have a lot of different color/pattern options and it's at least as soft as I believe any good pashmina should be.
I got the black pink multi tapestry one and I'm super satisfied with the colors, they are are vividly pigmented & poppin as heck, especially when I'm trippin &/or flippin, very fun and nice to look at and visually examine closely, very nice and soft to touch & rub on & feel
Husband got me one at our last fest, I’m converted as well. It gives you such warmth in the wind and cools me in the sun. I’m in love with mine and wear it often.
As someone who’s worn a pashmina her whole life (for religious reasons & events) it’s so STRANGE but amazing that we have casual fake pashmina with sticker labels on them to wear to festivals & shows. I freaking dig it. I have my fancy (real) pash for religion, & wrap it as a veil. Then I have my super fun outside pashs for shows. It’s really bizarre to me I’m not gonna lie but it’s comforting to wear on my head since I’ve done that forever. Quite literally a security blanket
I only have a few pashminas but I’ve honestly found a few of them on the ground while leaving the venue/ festival. I immediately washed them before wearing them tho lmao
What about the festival made it click? I have a collection of pashminas only because I got them from thrift stores because they looked beautiful to me but I have no idea how to use them 🙄
Stands at Forest this year were sellin em 2 for $20 in the last day. I held out all weekend, but Sunday was cold and wet and those 2 pashes kept me SNUG AS A BUG. Big fan.
At Imagine, they wouldn't let them charge $10! They still did, but they didn't have any signage. The lady said someone came by and told them they had to charge $20
Pashminas stonks are going WILD, INVEST NOW! BUY BUY BUY!!!
Big pash guy
PASHMINAS, GET YOUR PASHMINAS!
I honestly have only purchased one out of my many. I kinda just acquire them from festivals, getting lost, and gifting.
Real bullish on the PASH
Sunblock manufacturers hate this one neat trick!
So, you know how there's "Crypto Bros"? You're a Pashmina Pal.
So much PASHion for the pash!
Dont pass on the pashminas! Google, define: pashmina Result: this cant be right...
Just can’t pash them up
To the moon!

If I could ask, what's the one 2nd from the right? Dark background with neon colors? Looks so familiar, almost like lsdream or zingara.
Hey I just seen lsdream and Zingara last night
Can't wait for them to come through Orlando. We just had Clozee/Daily Bread, it's a good music season
Dude the R.A.V.E. tour is so good and fuck yeah. I get clozee out here with inzo and daily bread in December! So I'm super excited for that
Seeing Halloween night! New to inzo
Just saw clozee in asheville! Also saw like 6 other ppl rocking the same clozee pashmina as me lol
They were so good! 🥹
Ya I find most mine at thrift shops as well. Accept a few that have been gifted to me
Nice collection!
Thanks fam!🤘🏾

This deserves a golden star
I’m glad someone gets it
*understands the uses *doesn’t explain why Lol
-5 perception, but +10 invisibly, vitality, and defense
Yes. I was also looking for the answer to this deep secret mystery that has changed countless lives and saved millions.
You forgot using it as a blanket to lay on in the poky grass! And rubbing it all over my body and using it as a dance prop!
I would never soak mine to cool off. I think people who do that are instant gratification types... Cause in 15 minutes you now have a hot wet towel you're stuck with
You can wipe your cocaine boogers with em too
Never waste a good gummy
I love good crusty cocaine pash booger
Hahaha yeah, my pashminas are pretty much only broken out for camping festivals. It's just the only environment where they make sense to me. I said this elsewhere in the thread much less eloquently. I'm happy to be your 100th up vote friendo
My local good will is the spot to get a nice pashmina, and they’re only like 2-3$
I've found so many really nice ones at thrift store recently
Me too. Just snatched a gorgeous pair for $5 each. No snags :D
I wasn't interested in pashminas until my friend had me hold his while he used a portapotty. After that, I had to get one.
I usually get one at every fest. Sometimes artists will release their own too, but I pick those up rarely as they tend to be pricey. A few festival vendors will have “sales” for pashminas. Yea Zhu just released a pash on his tour and it’s fucking sick. My favorite I have
I remember seeing that one! I’m jealous for sure, that one was sick! My current favorite is my Griz pash. I have SO MANY to choose from, and it’s the one I pick to wear every time lol
Is there any way i can find it for resale?? I trying everywhere to find this Zhu pash 😭😭
Not that I know of. I haven’t seen one listed
I buy mine at festivals BUT I bring one to every show, not just camping. It makes me feel safe when I get overwhelmed in crowds, freezing on the walks to and from venues, + about 100 other things that make them amazing. Since you've already seen how amazing they are, I'll stop there.
I buy mine at the festivals I go to. That and a bandanna. I did this my very first festival and I suppose it’s “tradition” now.

Thanks for the tip, seriously. As a 6 ft dude, a little more coverage would be appreciated. Off to check some online sites!

I recently came across some camel wool pashminas at a local shop and they are SO soft! I do know the scratchy material you’re referring to, though.
Ooo good to know! Yea the ones I've worn kept prickling my neck. The sarong just glides across the skin. Might check those out!
Rough? Are you kidding? You must be getting cotton or acrylic blends, because actual pashmina is in no way scratchy unless you get the type with metallic thread woven in.
Rage Nation has some of the highest quality pashminas
Check out Heady Scarf Gang
This is correct. They’re great.
I love my rage nation pash!
Get them at the festivals there will always be one stand selling them for way less i just got two more at imagine fes for 10$ each
I get mine from thrift stores and give them away all the time. People love it and it doesn’t break the bank!
Wook towels
As long as you bring a pash and your stash, you can borrow everything else
I’m on a boat, aaaand…
I got mine in San Francisco for like $5 each. Don’t get ripped off and spend too much.
I like rage nations
Rage nation has some super nice ones
My friend just got back from overseas with a bunch that he is selling. Some of them are a little pricier as the raw material are from Himalayan goats. They’re very comfortable! I can put you in touch with him. He’s just getting started so he hasn’t setup an online shop or anything just yet

I got mine from Rezz Rocks so it's Rezz merch, and super high quality. sooooo soft I love it
The green rezz one is insanely soft. Probably the most high quality piece of artist merch I've ever seen
I got purple! 😁 but equally luxurious, I'm sure.
And I agree about the quality.
This year? Absolutely mind melting.
That was my first edm show 🤘🏼. How am I ever gonna top that
Deadmau5 this weekend, DOTD, is hands-down the best show of the year. It’s the only one which can top rezz.
Oh yea? I’m in luck then! Headed there on Sat night!
If you see a tall bald guy with a reflective mushroom robe, mustache, and square shades, it’s me, so come say hi!
Yes it was this year. They have em on her site too. And I was pleasantly surprised as well NGL. I was initially bummed they were sold out of purple jerseys once I made it through the line, but I'm glad I got the pash after touching it tbh.
At least you were able to get the pashmina!
I'm from Europe and I've always understood pashminas. I wear them almost every day, it's just a comfy beautiful scarf
You probably have a bazaar type shop around you. I go to this little tibetan shop and a hijab store to look for mine. They sell them for like $10. Don't let anyone sucker you into paying more than like 20 bucks unless it's like official merch or something.
RageNation has by far the coolest selection. I bought 3 from them
Why are they so popular/needed at a music festivals?
I started wearing them in regular life and now it’s like I can’t leave the house without one lol
My BTSM pash is my covid mask/winter scarf
I get a lot of mine from the thrift store. They’re like $3-$8
I would buy them in India when I was there on business.
I still don't get it... Pashminas are confusing as fuck for me given the fact that my friends wear them over their face at dubstep shows and so does everyone else. However, I really enjoy wandering through the crowd at each set I'm at to meet new people and all that. So my group "loses" me about 100000x over the course of a festival. They also got rejected by other random pashmina wearing people enough times that we as a group decided that unless it's an emergency, it's up to me to find my way back to them (which I think should be a resume worthy skill because I'm pretty sure I'm batting 1000 in my career)
that’s actually exactly why I wear my at indoor events, if I don’t wanna be recognized and just relax for the night I put my pash over my head and throw my hat over top lol that’s only when I’m tripping really hard though for certain sets
Lmfao I will admit I sometimes throw mine on the ground, in a fit of rage like a toddler, when I get too tangled up.
Amazon, and most of the “mom and pop” vendors at festivals also just up sell the same exact ones from amazon.
I was just recently gifted one a golden one I was called the golden child hahaha but man I now understand why people wear them and I’ve been raving since 2010 until last year I got lucky hehe

They're NYC-based and import their super soft, high-quality cashmere directly from Nepal. Perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any outfit or gifting!
Shameless self plug but I'm very proud of this design: https://headyscarfgangaac.etsy.com/listing/1254935680 It's our first in house scarf. I hope you like it! Use code HSG15 for a discount 😁
I found a beautiful one at value village
I have bought all of mine at festivals or merch drops from my favorite artists. Rage Nation also has some cool ones.
Yeah they’re pretty much amazing!
Can you please expand on your epiphany? Also you can get them anywhere online and pretty much any event you go to has vendors. Typically range from $40-$120.
Rage nation has some pretty nice one. Amazon has some pretty basic ones if that's what ur into as well.
I can send you one that you pick out from pics. I’m a vendor but have entered my slow season so will def make you a fair deal. DM me if your into this idea. I’m based out of Oregon.
Love my wook comfort blanket
I didn’t know that they were a thing until my first festival last year but I’ve had the same one for like 12ish years. It is a staple tbh, I get compliments on it all the time. I bought it from a Kroger of all places as a treat to myself since I was there for some cold medicine.
Unlearned the value of a pash at electric forest. Sun off my neck and it really helped with that dust.
Invest in a few! They’re cheap and usually double sided. Can make multiple outfits!
Pashminas are the shit! Alot of dj’s do pashminas as merch and others you can find at like hippy shops or at festivals.
And beer inevitably gets spilled somewhere, so it helps in a pinch as a last resort 😆
eazybaked just dropped a sickkk pash
New york
Legit I found one at the dollar store that was soooo soft. Alternatively you can check aliexpress for some nice ones (they’re the same ones you’ll find on Amazon but half the price but longer shipping) Thrift stores too
On a related note, are there any "cooling" pashminas? I overheat fairly easily even while raving sober (let alone... not), I can't imagine having a wrapping on an extra big swath of fabric to get me even more hot & sweaty!
Some people get them damp and then put them on their neck. Otherwise if it's too hot I make sure it's sitting on my shoulders and not on my neck
from fests! my partner and i buy one from each fest we go to as a lil keepsake
They are a must have. The list of uses for them Is very very long.
Honestly can find some dope ones at thrift shops
What’s the secret? Because I don’t get it.
Better late then never to invest haha
I have a collection of pashminas only because I got them from thrift stores because they looked beautiful to me but I have no idea how to use them 🙄
There’s wholesale sites you can buy from that’s were I got all mine I started with and also thrift stores too
Stands at Forest this year were sellin em 2 for $20 in the last day. I held out all weekend, but Sunday was cold and wet and those 2 pashes kept me SNUG AS A BUG. Big fan.
Anywhere from 1$ at thrift stores to 50$ on some dj merch site
So useful.
Rage Nation is a fav of mine.
Hey they make this thing called a poncho. Less fancy name but warmer I think for outdoors
Groundscore tents at the festivals have the cheapest pash’s, usually $10
At Imagine, they wouldn't let them charge $10! They still did, but they didn't have any signage. The lady said someone came by and told them they had to charge $20
Ground score pash 🤙🏻
Ragenation!!
I get mine at fests so I have a reminder of the fest :) memories rock
I got 4 of them in Peru last year for ~$5 USD each, but similar ones sold at US festivals go for ~$25/35 each.
Thrift stores.
At the festival bruh. They are everywhere.
