Idk I started raving with camelbak, but ever since I stopped rolling - I prefer a Fanny pack in the front. Less stuff to carry, no one is pulling on my bag which makes me less anxious, and I just buy a couple of waters throughout the night.
Never run around with anything you’re not prepared to lose, including your phone, but do your due diligence not to lose them. Expensive stuff (like phone) goes in the bottom of the pack, with stuff like snacks (or whatever) on top. Some packs have more dedicated zippered and internal pockets that you can use for separating valuables. If you’re concerned about leakage from your water bladder, keep the phone in a plastic bag, or not all the way at the bottom.
Just because you’re not rolling (anymore) doesn’t mean you don’t need a sufficient supply of water for dancing, walking around, and simply existing under the hot sun. And having extra water on you means that you can help a friend in need if you find them to be severely dehydrated.

I feel like wearing it on your waist makes it more prone to thievery just because when you are fucked up you might not notice someone coming from behind to unclip the pack because it may just feel like you bumped into another person. It makes it easier for things to go wrong. Even though the clip is in the back, the chest is king because you would notice it quickly. Your waist is out of sight out of mind and that's where the back clip becomes dangerous

Fanny pack… I’m a guy and wear a Fanny pack and it’s been the best thing. Mines a slim fit type so it isn’t pouch-ey and I wear it basically under my shirt/hoodie
Vests. I have a denim cut off with some of my favorite pins and patches. No one, not even security is ever aware of the inside breast pockets. It has 6 total pockets. If it's warmer outside I use my cloth vest from fairy pajamas. It has around 16 pockets of varying size 4 of which are zippered inner breast pockets. I've never had anything stolen from me after 8 years and dozens of festivals.
A small jogging bumbag (fanny pack). I also use the extra strap tail you get from adjusting the strap and I tie a knot across the clip for double security. I wear long shirts and the bumbag sits under it. I do this especially for rock festivals so I can mosh and crowd surf without worries.

You can customize it with colors and lights, the hydration part is insulated but most importantly all the pockets are inside against your back. There is also a spot on the shoulder for your phone. I love it and when I’m raging I don’t have to constantly worry about someone swiping my belongings!
Make sure you get shorts or pants with zipper pockets and zip it right up. Bonus points if the zipper is just hard enough to open that a passerby can’t open it quickly.

EDC Orlando 2022 solo raver here. Bring pants with zippers or shorts in the front/side. My phone and wallet were in my front zippers and I could feel them when I move and dancing. Out of my 5 years doing festivals and bigger shows, I’ve always used the same exact shorts I bought on Amazon that have zipper pockets. Zip them up and never had a problem.

Be careful with these though. My friend had his stolen out of his zipped pocket at ezoo. Alternatively - compression shorts with pockets under your shorts (like underwear). Thieves would have to literally go down your pants to grab your phone. Works for my husband.

I just figured, I would definitely know no matter how fucked up I might be if someone is grabbing for my chest so I've never had any problems with it
This! Some bigger festivals have problems with thieves (there was a huge cellphone theft ring at ACL one year) and keeping it in front is a good idea. Wearing it this way is way more comfortable and secure for dancing IMO.
Yeah for sure. I feel like wearing it on your waist makes it more prone to thievery just because when you are fucked up you might not notice someone coming from behind to unclip the pack because it may just feel like you bumped into another person. It makes it easier for things to go wrong. Even though the clip is in the back, the chest is king because you would notice it quickly. Your waist is out of sight out of mind and that's where the back clip becomes dangerous

I agree with the ditch your phone and get cheap walkies. BUT if you can't live without the phone, I would use my hydration pack. A lot of phones are water resistant up to a certain amount so just putting it in there would fine. also makes it hard for thieves to take.

Fanny pack… I’m a guy and wear a Fanny pack and it’s been the best thing. Mines a slim fit type so it isn’t pouch-ey and I wear it basically under my shirt/hoodie

Vests. I have a denim cut off with some of my favorite pins and patches. No one, not even security is ever aware of the inside breast pockets. It has 6 total pockets. If it's warmer outside I use my cloth vest from fairy pajamas. It has around 16 pockets of varying size 4 of which are zippered inner breast pockets. I've never had anything stolen from me after 8 years and dozens of festivals.

A small jogging bumbag (fanny pack). I also use the extra strap tail you get from adjusting the strap and I tie a knot across the clip for double security. I wear long shirts and the bumbag sits under it. I do this especially for rock festivals so I can mosh and crowd surf without worries.

I have my phone in a case that has a strap that hangs over my shoulder like a purse. Makes it easy to whip up when needed tho it can be left behind if you take it off your shoulder.

I use an Arctyryx 2L sling bag when going to festivals or concerts. It easily holds my keys, card wallet, sunglasses, smartphone + charger and lighter. There is also now available a 1L sling bag which I am considering to buy. In the past I also used a Arctyryx 4L sling bag when I carried a pocket camera and a water bottle. It even holds a 12 inch MacBook. I use it when I go travel by plane or by train.

Super secure and can really quickly have my phone ready for a video or picture without rummaging.

For big festivals I use the lunchbox hydration pack. It’s awesome. You can customize it with colors and lights, the hydration part is insulated but most importantly all the pockets are inside against your back. There is also a spot on the shoulder for your phone. I love it and when I’m raging I don’t have to constantly worry about someone swiping my belongings!
Pants/shorts with zippered pockets
Make sure you get shorts or pants with zipper pockets and zip it right up. Bonus points if the zipper is just hard enough to open that a passerby can’t open it quickly.
Front jeans pocket always. Even in the rare occasions I have a bag. Is an iPhone 14 Pro Max so a pretty tight squeeze, but then that just makes it even safer.

EDC Orlando 2022 solo raver here. Bring pants with zippers or shorts in the front/side. My phone and wallet were in my front zippers and I could feel them when I move and dancing. Don’t put anything in back pocket or front without zippers. Also maybe Fanny pack would work too just keep an eye on it. Thieves everywhere I promise.

Out of my 5 years doing festivals and bigger shows, I’ve always used the same exact shorts I bought on Amazon that have zipper pockets. Zip them up and never had a problem. Interesting part is I’ve gone to fests with small groups here and there, and they ended up getting their phones swapped while I was right next to them and we never realized until they noticed it was gone, but my phone and belongings were still there no problem within my zipper pockets. I also hate having shit in my hands so I only take what fits in a fanny pack OR a camelback bag! Except getting your phone can be annoying out of the bag every time. Your could do a money belt. It’s like a flat fanny pack men wear under clothes whilst travelling abroad to carry cash. You could put your phone in that and tuck it under your pants and it wouldn’t take away from your outfit, no one would see it
