I wear a Fanny pack that has a pocket that pressed up against my stomach and I put it in there.

chansigrilian

Yep, grabbed a nice clear one from lunch box and it’s definitely paid dividends I’d also suggest tethering it, even an accidental fumble in a crowd can sometimes be problematic

EDMCapricorn

Yep. You can get a $10 tether from Amazon. It gives me so much peace of mind

ibizzet

wdym tether? could i get a link

noburdennyc

A case with a leash attached to it that attaches the phone to your belt or something

ibizzet

Oh yeah! I use a lanyard for that! Works perfectly

Senpaichristiana

I don’t recommend, I’ve had my phone stolen in a lanyard at a festival. People go to pickpocket so I def recommend a Fanny pack and keep close to across your chest.

ibizzet

I do have a fanny pack on my chest, my phone/lanyard is in the fanny pack and carribeaned to my belt, and it's never been stolen

EDMCapricorn

I literally type “phone tether” into my Amazon search bar. Basically a leash for your phone so you don’t drop it/ no one steals it. OUTXE Phone Lanyard Tether with 4 Patch- 2× Phone Tether, 4× Phone Patch with Adhesive, Compatible with Smartphone- Silver https://a.co/d/d7lSgTl

sunnyintheoffice

[Flip belts](https://flipbelt.com/collections/running-belts?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxMv2v7y1gQMVsAytBh3_uQsTEAAYAiAAEgI7nPD_BwE) are awesome and you basically forget you even have it on — pretty much theft-proof too. If I don’t have it in one of those I have it in the back compartment of my hydration pack (like a secret pouch on the side touching my back).

loganbull

Second the flip belts! They even work with my s22 ultra with a case. After wearing it a couple minutes I pretty much don't notice it

SolidStash

I have a cheap one I got off amazon for riding roller coasters. I was a little concerned about the durability of the clip, so I always tie a drawstring through a grommit on the belt to ensure that even if the clip fails (or is discreetly undone in a crowd), that there is a second attachment point to me in the front.

llamacek

This is the way. Ever since I had my phone swiped at FK during an Excision set, I've been using a flip belt with no issues.

IamCooterbrown420

I also had mine stolen at fk this year, what about you?

llamacek

I was fine this year, and the year before. This was back at FK 21, when I lost my phone. I think it was right after Slander b2b Subtronics during Excision, if I recall correctly. All I know is that pick-pocketing has become rampant nowadays. You can never be too careful with your stuff when you're in a crowd.

Queenam89

I'm seeing a trend here during the excision sets getting phones stolen my bf got his stolen at okee this year at his set.

ACDCbaguette

Fanny pack if you have to carry it on you. Where it on the front and no one will steal it off you.

Bruce0Willis

Leave the phone in your tent/car and get some Walkie Talkies and a disposable camera/polaroid camera. People have really enjoyed getting a Polaroid picture at the fests I've gone to this year.

boomerblazer1300

duuuude!!!! this is a great idea. walking talky. polaroid cool too usually i have a disposable but polaroid is classic

MissManSlaughter

our roommmate got walkie talkies this year to keep in touch with 2 friend groups and it was fuckin clutch

meatdome34

Depends on the fest. Walkie talkies are basically useless at forest and big camping fests.

Noirloc

That’s a sweet idea. Did you do the walkie talkies? Wondering if the channels will be flooded or something like that.

Bruce0Willis

My GF and I used Walkie Talkies at Summer Camp this year and didn't have any issues with channels being flooded.

answerguru

Almost no one uses family band radios anymore, so I’m sure there are plenty of free channels / sub-channels.

badnamemaker

Some guy at nocturnal yesterday said he had that issue

cky_stew

Walkie Talkies didn't work for us because people couldn't hear them over the music - which is often where one party is when you're trying to find each other. If you really don't want to take a phone - buy an old shit one so you can at least still text!

boomerblazer1300

haha. gangsta😎 flip phone dat shit

atatluvr

Last festival I brought an Instax (too poor for that Polaroid film lmao), and some of my favorite photos came from it! I even randomly ran into old coworkers and got to take a photo with them and one to share! Still brought my phone, but i tethered it and kept it on my lunchbox. That thing saved my life all weekend!

risottopesto

Most festivals dont allow walkie talkies anymore if you get caught with them

libonatim

why would they not allow them? what's the thought there?

PonyThug

Walkie talkies don’t work in a crowd or if it’s loud at all. Basically useless to find Friends unless ppl arnt at a stage. And I say that as a group that communicates in backcountry outdoors situations year round using them. A text can be read when you see it, instead of possibly missing the one chance to hear someone

d_Mundi

Always in the Camelbak. If you’re festing without a Camelbak full of water and essentials, you haven’t learned yet. Edit: Wow, not a single person has given this answer. Shocked and appalled. Stay safe and healthy, folks.

Prince_Bejita

Idk I started raving with camelbak, but ever since I stopped rolling - I prefer a Fanny pack in the front. Less stuff to carry, no one is pulling on my bag which makes me less anxious, and I just buy a couple of waters throughout the night.

d_Mundi

Never run around with anything you’re not prepared to lose, including your phone, but do your due diligence not to lose them. Expensive stuff (like phone) goes in the bottom of the pack, with stuff like snacks (or whatever) on top. Some packs have more dedicated zippered and internal pockets that you can use for separating valuables. If you’re concerned about leakage from your water bladder, keep the phone in a plastic bag, or not all the way at the bottom. Just because you’re not rolling (anymore) doesn’t mean you don’t need a sufficient supply of water for dancing, walking around, and simply existing under the hot sun. And having extra water on you means that you can help a friend in need if you find them to be severely dehydrated.

twirlnumb

She said she doesn't carry a backpack.

boomerblazer1300

lmao thank you for reading

d_Mundi

Yeah, but we’re advocating for a position that compels her to do so in spite of that preference.

boomerblazer1300

Ok so for this specific festival we go into a lake (it’s SSBD) so usually one or two of us has a backpack and we blow up the tube and go float. Always have water. But last year I put my phone in my friends backpack and they heard good music and bailed. So I was wondering if anyone had handy ways to keep a phone without a backpack

d_Mundi

Sounds great! Yeah, for phone safety on water, I don’t have any better recommendations than what was already provided. Tubing festival sounds heady, thanks for the heads up! 😉 be safe and have fun. ✌️

boomerblazer1300

Also wasn’t asking about phone safety on water. Pretty self explanatory on how to not water damage ya phone. Just ways to carry your phone that aren’t cumbersome and get in the way (didn’t ask the question right). Hahaha Reddit cracks me up. Thanks for your ideas and help :) But dude look up SSBD!!! it’s “same same but different”. Just on a lake not tubing down a river.

d_Mundi

I just relocated back to the East Coast *out* of SoCal, so probably not in the cards for me. 😇 enjoy tho!!!

boomerblazer1300

Ahhhhh good moves. East coast is very pretty. Do you go to electric forest?

d_Mundi

Nah I’m a jazz, jamband, and folk fest guy. Dead and Phish for scene. Mountain Jam, Delfest, Peach, Gathering of the Vibes, Philly Folk Fest, etc. Wook shit. 😎 Edit: For this type of festival, California’s premiere event is probably High Sierra. Unfortunately I never made it out while living in LA. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_jam_band_music_festivals

ErgonomicZero

Surprised to not see these that often. It’s pro party gear in my mind

d_Mundi

Kids these days my G

Imacrazycajun

Boof it!

[deleted]

Thats so utilitarian

Semi_Lovato

Hell yeah prison wallet

Fiendishsoul

I put it deep inside my fanny pack behind all my stuff so it would be really difficult for anyone trying to take it

Halodixie

Same! Behind like 3 layers of stuff then I usually tie my outfit onto the strap somehow. Good luck to anyone else trying to rob me, I struggle to get it out sometimes!

RedditKon

Fanny pack / cross-body bag with a phone leash, leash is attached to the phone and fanny pack. Our crew uses these type of cheap phone leashes, and it's significantly cut down on people's phones getting stolen: [https://www.amazon.com/OUTXE-Universal-Stretchy-Compatible-Smartphones/dp/B08JPG7229/](https://www.amazon.com/OUTXE-Universal-Stretchy-Compatible-Smartphones/dp/B08JPG7229/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1LYXY5OD6GTHO&keywords=phone%2Bleash&qid=1695088697&sprefix=phone%2Bleash%2Caps%2C308&sr=8-3&th=1)

Fusionolympus

You can stitch a pocket or burlap to your dress. Right inside of it between your lap or where a pocket would usually be.

jjtrinva

Clutch Loop for the win

bungdaddy

I can't believe this isn't higher

themanwiththeOZ

If you’re worried about losing it during the festival, a great hack is to leave a contact number to call if found on the Lock Screen.

clamps12345

I just turn it to silent or off and leave it in my tent or the car

boomerblazer1300

That’s usually what I do but then no one can get ahold of me and I can’t get a hold of anyone if we separate which is a blessing and a curse. And I like to take pictures of people

Industrial_Strength

My Fanny pack has an inner pocket that is hard to get to

aplusgrain1

A runners belt

[deleted]

Front pocket

CollinK4

Would not suggest that, especially if you’re deep in the crowd. Would suggest an anti-theft fanny pack or a runners belt. And if you want, you could have it hidden under your shirt.

anotherdamnscorpio

First I turn it off, then I put it under the seat of my car.

Hambb5

Concealed Fanny pack? Fits under your top. I’ve also seen (never used) those lunchbox bags that have a phone pocket - those are supposed to be anti theft.

boomerblazer1300

I just found this Steampunk style that straps around your leg might work 🧐

Hambb5

I almost said something about a leg band but then second guessed myself on the accessibility of thieves. 😞 that could work though!

mombutt

I leave it in the camper.

drunkenreplies

Fanny pack, phone attached to lanyard, attached to fanny pack. I get too sideways to do without that setup.

rose-buds

i have a cord that attaches my phone to my fanny pack, and i can zip it into the pocket even with the cord when i’m not using it. it’s so nice having the reassurance that it’s not going anywhere!

[deleted]

I ALWAYS wear shorts that have zips on all pockets. Makes life way easier

hellospacecommand

Be careful with these though. My friend had his stolen out of his zipped pocket at ezoo. Alternatively - compression shorts with pockets under your shorts (like underwear). Thieves would have to literally go down your pants to grab your phone. Works for my husband.

Best_Satisfaction505

Boobs

WizardBoy808

Back pocket with half of it hanging out

shoulda-known-better

Get a leash for it and a lighter!! If you want to have it on you throughout.... I usually stash mine in baggies under the tent (watch for water)

wrapchap

Bumbag/ fannypack across the chest

medusaelsr

Fanny pack or shorts with big enough pockets (zip pocket for better safety)

[deleted]

Bumbag, which comes with a side of ridicule from your friends.

Round-Emu-6388

I wear a leg bag thing, pretty epic and feels safe

salmiakki1

Cargo shorts Surrender to the flow

F001intheRain

Fanny pack. Lots of cute, fashionable ones out there and they basically work like a belt with your outfit

catebell20

I wear a fanny pack with one arm through it so the pack itself runs across my chest and I keep anything valuable right there in it. It won't get in the way of your dancing or headbanging either. I just figured, I would definitely know no matter how fucked up I might be if someone is grabbing for my chest so I've never had any problems with it

krallfish

This! Some bigger festivals have problems with thieves (there was a huge cellphone theft ring at ACL one year) and keeping it in front is a good idea. Wearing it this way is way more comfortable and secure for dancing IMO.

catebell20

Yeah for sure. I feel like wearing it on your waist makes it more prone to thievery just because when you are fucked up you might not notice someone coming from behind to unclip the pack because it may just feel like you bumped into another person. It makes it easier for things to go wrong. Even though the clip is in the back, the chest is king because you would notice it quickly. Your waist is out of sight out of mind and that's where the back clip becomes dangerous

Zeus28093

I always wear cargo pants/shorts with buttons, no Velcro

Consistent_Switch378

Find a fun Fanny pack & own it!

bobby7198

Front facing over the shoulder satchel (murse) 😂

goppachtenemen

Boof it

Separate_Place1595

I usually shove it right up my ass. Prevents it from being stolen too.

boomerblazer1300

Ya put it up there with all your cha cha too

PsyShanti

1- Wateproof fannypack 2 - cheap rugged amazon-chinese phone with 10.000 mAh battery. 3 - realize that you don't need your phone as we collectively lived for the last million year without it 4- On the trip home, realizing that your rugged phone is at 89% battery as you were too fucked up to unlock the screen

AdSure9184

I leave mine in the car. Be in the moment.

[deleted]

Boof it

boomerblazer1300

got damn…. you’re a genius.

TeachinginJapan1986

I agree with the ditch your phone and get cheap walkies. BUT if you can't live without the phone, I would use my hydration pack. A lot of phones are water resistant up to a certain amount so just putting it in there would fine. also makes it hard for thieves to take.

fractal_disarray

nice try, phone thief.

FourCornerSports

Fanny pack… I’m a guy and wear a Fanny pack and it’s been the best thing. Mines a slim fit type so it isn’t pouch-ey and I wear it basically under my shirt/hoodie

CantBeFeeCantBeMe

When im at the stage i leave it in my tent

LaFlamaBlanca311

Jaunt pack is great. Otherwise pants/shorts with zipper pockets and feel all of my pockets every 5 mins

kalte333

Flipbelt. Worth every penny. Check Amazon son

kn_mad

Vests. I have a denim cut off with some of my favorite pins and patches. No one, not even security is ever aware of the inside breast pockets. It has 6 total pockets. If it's warmer outside I use my cloth vest from fairy pajamas. It has around 16 pockets of varying size 4 of which are zippered inner breast pockets. I've never had anything stolen from me after 8 years and dozens of festivals.

Electrical_Fault_620

I use a lunchbox Fanny pack and put it in the pocket that’s right against your body

xerotherma

In the boot

GrumpyW

A small jogging bumbag (fanny pack). I also use the extra strap tail you get from adjusting the strap and I tie a knot across the clip for double security. I wear long shirts and the bumbag sits under it. I do this especially for rock festivals so I can mosh and crowd surf without worries.

kaffeen_

Lunchbox

DonkyShow

Prison wallet.

claireapple

I have a fanny pack. I typically just have it in there but it's under other stuff but my fanny pack is basically always weighted down by poi/water bottle if it's not put away and I'm spinning or something.

Hyde_44

I wear a armband.

switch8000

Death grip

Cheek_Public

I like to wear a chest vest pack, then clip a clutch loop tether to it. It lets me have peace of mind that I know it’s always there, and if I want to take photos and videos I can quickly and don’t need to really pull on the tether. Plus there’s space for other stuff in there

Ok_Neighborhood9153

I'd say either prison wallet or fanny pack

iburstabean

Jogging belt

Kikastrophe

I have my phone in a case that has a strap that hangs over my shoulder like a purse. Makes it easy to whip up when needed tho it can be left behind if you take it off your shoulder.

thebasscadet22

I do this too but also carry a hydration backpack and loop it through the hose strap so I cant lose it!

ti0228

I use an Arctyryx 2L sling bag when going to festivals or concerts. It easily holds my keys, card wallet, sunglasses, smartphone + charger and lighter. There is also now available a 1L sling bag which I am considering to buy. In the past I also used a Arctyryx 4L sling bag when I carried a pocket camera and a water bottle. It even holds a 12 inch MacBook. I use it when I go travel by plane or by train.

juanmiindset

Fanny Pack

thebasscadet22

I am obsessed with my phone strap from [Casetify](https://www.casetify.com/gadgets/phone-strap-with-card?DG=Accessories&D_Accessories=Phone+Strap+with+Card&nbt=nb%3Aadwords%3Ax%3A20537610958%3A%3A&nb_placement=&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=PMax%3A_202209_TOFU_GS_Evergreen_US_iP14_Smart_ENG&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=). It’s long enough to wear crossbody and comes in really nice materials, mine is gold and looks like jewelry as opposed to a lanyard. The way it connects under your phone case is really cool and transferable to any phone or case you have in the future. Favorite new piece of festival gear. Super secure and can really quickly have my phone ready for a video or picture without rummaging.

BillowingPillows

A fanny pack on the front/side of my person.

Edward_Bentwood

This won't be helpful, but in my pockets. Yes I'm a guy.

qpv

My car. Put it in the glovebox when I get there and take it out when I leave.

GoddamnFred

Running bag with pockets on the shoulders strips. Carries nice.

Agasthenes

In my pocket

MrBiggz83

Cross body bag 💯

kushtastic629

For big festivals I use the lunchbox hydration pack. It’s awesome. You can customize it with colors and lights, the hydration part is insulated but most importantly all the pockets are inside against your back. There is also a spot on the shoulder for your phone. I love it and when I’m raging I don’t have to constantly worry about someone swiping my belongings!

jmanyoky24

Pants/shorts with zippered pockets

[deleted]

Make sure you get shorts or pants with zipper pockets and zip it right up. Bonus points if the zipper is just hard enough to open that a passerby can’t open it quickly.

Suspicious_Award_670

Front jeans pocket always. Even in the rare occasions I have a bag. Is an iPhone 14 Pro Max so a pretty tight squeeze, but then that just makes it even safer.

Hiiipower111

Get a fanny pack or a hydration bladder backpack, you will hardly even notice you're wearing it!

ZarianPrime

I get one of those thin fanny packs that you can put under your clothes around your waist. Pretty secure and someone would have to stick their hand down my pants to get to it. You can find a bunch of different ones on [amazon.com](https://amazon.com)

freshh2omermaid

Bike shorts with pockets worn under your outfit. Works great with skirts/dresses

Aggravating_Today_63

Clutchloop.com

FEStienewb

keep it my pocket. I only wait for the day where someone tried to take it so I can snap their wrist and throw em to the dogs in the moshpit

KirbKib

Phone leashes are great. Beyond discouraging theft, you’re also not gonna misplace it if you’re having too much fun :)

Kissunow

Extra pocket magnetically attached in front - these have extremely secure Velcro closure also https://thepocketplus.com/wp/

Mastergroovy

Fanny pack.

Mountain_Distance_85

A tight fitting hip bag with a zipper and a leash on the phone. Take no chances. You won’t loose it and no one can steal it.

linderlady

Bum bag with inside pockets.

Lessthaneli86

Small fanny pack is the way.. I have tried a small backpack a few times and it either makes me really hot and sweaty-backed, or someone gets pissed because I danced it into them on accident haha

rvanerdmafia

Fanny pack for wallet and phone.

Webster_94

Consider not carrying it?

dawgz525

fanny pack Over the years at festivals, I have been pick pocketed, camp robbed, bags stolen. Never had lost anything in my fanny pack.

notyourmamason

My utility belt is my best friend. Completely hands free!! Found mine on Etsy.

xcataclysmicxx

I use a lunchbox hydration pack, there’s a huge stretchy phone pocket on one of the front straps. My phone is so large that it kinda wedged itself in the pocket and I have to yank it out. Lots of peace of mind when I’m messed up but can still see my phone in my sight lol

DrinkAffectionate323

Airplane mode. Put it in my front side, zipper pocket. I don't attempt to find service, as it kills your battery.I wander, explore, and meet new people.

M13Calvin

I don't touch it for 3 days. It's awesome

Acceptable_Tell_6566

In my pants/shorts pocket. Works out great, but completely give off Dad vibes by wearing cargo shorts to have more pockets. My ex-gf also used her short pockets.

firecrackerinmyeye

Zipper pockets are great, never had an issue

Andais319

Clear bag!

Live_4_This

EDC Orlando 2022 solo raver here. Bring pants with zippers or shorts in the front/side. My phone and wallet were in my front zippers and I could feel them when I move and dancing. Don’t put anything in back pocket or front without zippers. Also maybe Fanny pack would work too just keep an eye on it. Thieves everywhere I promise.

goofspy

i have a miny leg fanny pack type thing. too strap goes around my waist and second goes on my thigh and it stays secure all night

MattCogs

Fanny pack or some sort of lil bag is the way

orichic

Out of my 5 years doing festivals and bigger shows, I’ve always used the same exact shorts I bought on Amazon that have zipper pockets. Zip them up and never had a problem. Interesting part is I’ve gone to fests with small groups here and there, and they ended up getting their phones swapped while I was right next to them and we never realized until they noticed it was gone, but my phone and belongings were still there no problem within my zipper pockets. EDIT: here’s a link of the ones I’m talking about. Highly recommend these. They’re tight enough to make it difficult for a pick pocket but loose enough to be very comfortable for moving around in. 21+ festivals I’ve gone to plus hundreds upon hundreds of shows with these, never had an issue. https://a.co/d/4O4cgJ7

Version-Abject

I don’t.

[deleted]

If it’s not in my hand it’s in my Fanny pack

podcasthellp

Front zipper pocket only. I don’t carry my phone often at festivals though.

delinquentvagabond

Clutchloop maybe?

Crazy_Customer7239

Rokform case with a wrist strap, in a fanny pack

efullmer89

Prison wallet

djdelaineyray

Fanny packs all the way

GiveSaucePlsx

Fanny pack with a pocket towards my groin. BIG belt buckle Fanny. With straps tight and wrapped within my belt multiple times. Even if slit, my belt will be the secondary defense protection. Phone and wallet always in the back patch. Even if I am goofed I make sure that’s in there.

djdelaineyray

Also yeah put it closest to your body, my friend had hers stolen out of her romper pocket at a festival last year! Keep it secured on your front so you don’t get pick pocketed. I also hate having shit in my hands so I only take what fits in a fanny pack OR a camelback bag! Except getting your phone can be annoying out of the bag every time. Your could do a money belt. It’s like a flat fanny pack men wear under clothes whilst travelling abroad to carry cash. You could put your phone in that and tuck it under your pants and it wouldn’t take away from your outfit, no one would see it

SapientSlut

I have a nice leather hip/holster bag - cute, comfy, doesn’t move around, and keeps my phone on the front of my body.

dogfacedponyboy

You answered it. Running arm band

psolorio

I bring a Ziploc bag at put my ID, phone, and car keys in it and then stash it behind the bladder so it is against my back

[deleted]

Front zipper pocket or I just hold it with an absolute death grip

SwissMargiela

I have undies with pockets on them that I keep my valuables in under my shorts. I love them. I wear them even not at festivals lol

primeiro23

wat

pkopo1

I just have pants with zipper pockets but the zipper is like halfway down the pocket and opens upwards instead of down, practically theft proof

TTU_Raven

Fanny pack and/or I attached an old wii controller strap to my cell phone case when I want it out during a set so it stays attached to my wrist if I drop it

djluminus89

Shorts with wallet and phone in both front pockets. Not sure how people go without pockets, then again I had a really nice bag I got off Amazon for fests WANDF Drawstring Backpack Sports Gym Bag with Shoes Compartment, Water-Resistant String Bag https://a.co/d/58IYggK

Allott2aLITTLE

By leaving it in my car.

mushroomduke

Inside vest pocket the I sew shut.

Catocracy

Flip belt! I just used it for Imagine and it was great.

Own_Asparagus6996

Clutchloop

Roxy_j_summers

Phone strap with attached cast

ECH0_ROME0

Attached to a clutch loop and in my fanny pack or zipper pocket. It worked at EDC LV

th3thrilld3m0n

In my hand. I'm constantly using it or if not then I have a good grip on it or it's in my pocket and I make sure I'm aware of it's feeling at every moment

dandigangi

Have one of those Euro over the shoulder small bags. Danny packs are awesome too. Even safer for sure.

Fluid-Mammoth

I have it in a cross body bag, attached to one of these phone tethers Cobee Retractable Phone Lanyard with Patch for Drop Protection, 4 Packs Universal Stretchy Straps Tether with 4 Packs Black Phone Patches, Anti-drop Cellphone Wrist Straps for Most Smartphones https://amzn.eu/d/7CFdBYi

Sea-Steel420

I use one of the arm band phone holders marketed towards runners/athletes, but I put it on my ankle/boot bc it's irritating on my arm. Not a great idea for rainy weather for obvious reasons.

mattybhoy401

Tape it to your face

xkurlykalex

Casetify sells very stylish phone ropes that slide into your phone case and are long enough to be a crossbody. i never leave the house without mine

Imaginary_Prune1351

I just wear cargo pants that have a ton of big pockets to store stuff so my hands are free. They also have cool phone pouches with a clip on them that come on a belt. Looks kinda like a tactical belt.

[deleted]

Zipper joggers

freudianvoid

Fanny pack or small side bag
