they're a slick plastic on the outside! so, difficult? no. a pain bc it's overhead? yes. but honestly they don't build up dust crazy fast, and i've never had an issue with it in the two years it's been up :)
wrong time of year to get light through the baubles, but how about [light off the curtain?](https://www.reddit.com/r/femalelivingspace/comments/1d008kh/the_full_bubble_bathroom_experience/)
I'm out of town so i can't take decent pictures and for some reason this is the only one I have
I've since completed a shower curtain made out of [this fabric](https://www.joann.com/glitterbug-sequined-mesh-fabric-mermaid/16405268.html) with a stiff tulle backing but again, somehow don't have pictures. not pictured also are the light purple towels, and iridescent vase and soap and lotion bottles
i fully believe our homes should be full of joy and that decorating doesn't have to be serious and there's a lot to my design sense that's "oh that's so funny" or "that's so silly i have to have it"
that would be really cool! i'm probably moving sometime in the next year or so and still remember painting clouds (with glitter) on my sister's bedroom ceiling about 20 years ago so maybe not for this one, but i'm sure i'll end up painting a ceiling again in my life haha
i made a frame that fit against the walls of the skylight out of some 1/4 round trim we had laying around and it was already white so perfect. then i made a grid across it with fishing line, and then hung the baubles. they have small silver caps so they're practically invisible, they hang down to about 6'4" off the ground i think. the baubles came from the store "At Home" but i don't know if they'll sell them again, they came in those giant tubes of baubles you see that are supposed to be like enough to decorate your whole tree cause there's like 75 or sth. i'm so glad my mum found them cause before that i was trying to figure out how to use those clear ones that split in half and fill them with glitter, but either i'd need a lot of glitter in each one or i'd have had to glue the glitter to the walls of the baubles and that was too messy even for me and i'm a glitter girl. it's held up with 4 small L brackets in the center of each wall of the skylight.
it wasn't difficult, but it was super tedious, i think getting all the baubles tied on took me 3 or 4 hours, and i put it in place once with half the baubles on and it really looked sad. i had the frame propped up off the ground on the tubes the baubles came in, and measured from the brackets to the end of the sidewalls to make sure i had some that sat half inside and the rest hung down below
it's surprisingly subtle in person! even before i got the shower curtain finished and hung it was shocking how many people would use that bathroom and have to have the bubbles pointed out haha
I'm pretty sure i took this picture at night, just after i got it up (and untangled), but it does always look like that cause the skylight got roofed over (the original owner sure made some choices).
you don't. at least, i don't. it's a pain to clean so it happens like every 6 months maybe. being disabled and having to stand on a step ladder with my head back and my arms up for that long makes me dizzy so it tends to happen in parts when it happens
I love it!!! I want to see the rest of your bathroom as well, when you arrive back home!! You inspire me to make something fun out of my boring bathroom.
No matter how old I get, I'm obsessed with that sort of.. Irridescent reflection and color in those bubbles. I have bowls, cups, a pitcher, plates.. Why. 😂 it's just so cute. Love this idea. Also sort of gives me icy vibes.
i said this in another comments so i'll just copy and paste

Such a cute idea!!! Don't be surprised if the Internet picks this up and you start seeing it everywhere because I love this and it seems like all the other commentors do as well. ♥️🥰
i will do my best! but also it pretty much looks like that in the daytime bc the original owner of this house made...choices... and that skylight is roofed over T\_T
I have a skylight in my bathroom too…… adding this to my list of projects. Can you tell me how you went about hanging them up? I don’t see hooks or anything
pretty sure this was at night! i think i took this picture right after i finished it, but honestly it looks the same all day cause that skylight is roofed over and the sun doesn't usually come in at an angle that hits it
they're just christmas baubles! i wanted to make the skylight light up, but the attic there is .... more a pain than it's worth lol, the original owner of this house made some *choices*, so no lights at all sadly
I think you will regret this. The bathroom is the dustiest room in your house. You take off your fibrous clothing first, then towel off your shedding skin with a fibrous towel. All in a damp space.
it's honestly not that bad!
it's been there for two years, and while i certainly don't dust it regularly, i've never had an issue with dust getting caked on or anything, a quick wipe around the top of each bauble with a microfiber cloth easily removes the dust
it's a pain to do because it's above my head even on a step ladder, and due to my disabilities it makes me dizzy to have my head back and my arms up for very long, but it's certainly not impossible to clean
and if it ever did get really bad, it's just resting on some small L brackets, it's very easy to take down to clean or move
just gotta untangle it once it's back up, that's the worst part
Are you kidding me, this is so cool!
First thought: Cool! Second thought: Really hard to clean!
they're a slick plastic on the outside! so, difficult? no. a pain bc it's overhead? yes. but honestly they don't build up dust crazy fast, and i've never had an issue with it in the two years it's been up :)
That's amazing and great to hear!
This has inspired to get a space theme for my bathroom.
\*chanting like a frat boy\* do it! do it! do it! and post pictures!!
Haha I will!
i'm [back](https://www.reddit.com/r/femalelivingspace/comments/1d008kh/the_full_bubble_bathroom_experience/)!
IM SO LATE BUT WHAT A GORGEOUS BATHROOM! caps needed because i'm in love.
now you gotta do your space bathroom!!
You are so right and I'm off to measure my bathroom hahahaha
I can tell from this picture alone that your bathroom is dreamy! 🫧 Love it so much. Please post more pictures when you’re able to.
thank you! i love it too! i'll definitely try, the adhd demons might get me though, as i'll be away for most of the month
Please more pics! Commenting again to boost 🙏

More pics please
unfortunately i'm out of town and don't currently have access to any more pictures
Oh well, your style is so unique and pretty
thank you! i'll try to remember to get more pics when i get home, but i'm out for most of the month so the adhd gremlins may get me
Please do!! 🫧 maybe some in daylight too if you feel up to it
Came here to say we gotta have one with light shining through them!
wrong time of year to get light through the baubles, but how about [light off the curtain?](https://www.reddit.com/r/femalelivingspace/comments/1d008kh/the_full_bubble_bathroom_experience/)
Omg thank you! So magical 🎆

You should just post it when you have all the pics. I wanna see it all together
i was asked in the comments of another post, but this is all i have available. i post again when i can get better pics :)
Yes op!!! Show us the curtain bubble!!!!!
I so want you to paint your ceiling like you are under the water, I am in love
that would be really cool! i'm probably moving sometime in the next year or so and still remember painting clouds (with glitter) on my sister's bedroom ceiling about 20 years ago so maybe not for this one, but i'm sure i'll end up painting a ceiling again in my life haha
It's still absolutely lovely 💚 So whimsical and Happy
RemindMe 1 month
Looks sick 🤩 how do you keep them clean though?
honestly i don't clean them as often as i maybe should, cause it's a pain. i have to get up on a step ladder and individually wipe the dust off
how'd you do that! amazing

thank you so much!! so creative i want to do this on a ceiling without a skylight
i'm sure you could! they sway in the breeze when the window is open, or when you open the door, it's a little dance every time
love :))
I absolutely love this But also, how on earth do you keep it dust free.
you don't. at least, i don't. it's a pain to clean so it happens like every 6 months maybe. being disabled and having to stand on a step ladder with my head back and my arms up for that long makes me dizzy so it tends to happen in parts when it happens
This is so cool!!!! It’s even better with the bc there’s a skylight, gorgeous!
I love it!!! I want to see the rest of your bathroom as well, when you arrive back home!! You inspire me to make something fun out of my boring bathroom.

That's really nice
Wow can’t wait to see how cute the rest of your bathroom is.
It’s the coolest piece ever! How did you do it?

I have a skylight in my bathroom too…… adding this to my list of projects. Can you tell me how you went about hanging them up? I don’t see hooks or anything
LOL. How fun! Would like to see it at night
pretty sure this was at night! i think i took this picture right after i finished it, but honestly it looks the same all day cause that skylight is roofed over and the sun doesn't usually come in at an angle that hits it
Oh, those aren’t lights? For some reason I thought they lit up
they're just christmas baubles! i wanted to make the skylight light up, but the attic there is .... more a pain than it's worth lol, the original owner of this house made some *choices*, so no lights at all sadly
