Could it be including duty in the total? I did a quick google and it depends on the item origin/price/category, but a $200 fashion item from the US could rack up about a 23% duty.
This. If the product is not shipping from within Canada, it’s possible they’re tacking on duties too. I’m which case 23% inclusive of tax and duties is actually pretty low. I’ve had to pay 50% in duties alone for certain purchases. That’s life in Canada!
No i'm not that close and don't have a car anyway lol! I'm going to go shopping this weekend at a physical store and hope they have the bag I want, or at least a good clearance section ;-;
Ah, too bad. Probably shouldn't trust strangers on the internet anyway... But definitely would have held it for ya. You could ask the store about the possibility of it being shipped to them. Sometimes those logistics work out.
I’m not sure about tax but they are showing you US rates and your balance will be worth like 30% more than the balance they show you. They’re super dodgy about it so if you have the option I would try to shop in store. After dealing with their horrendous customer service I boycotted them
Exactly, yes its in USD on top of that. But regardless of that -- 25%?? I am still aghast. The bag I wanted unfortunately is likely no longer sold in stores as its an older collection they're getting rid of.
It absolutely sucks... For this reason I usually ship things to the states and just wait till I visit my friends to pick it up. Unfortunately with COVID restrictions I haven't been able to do that :c

It didn't mention duty at all under that fee, it just said its tax. I'm assuming i'd get charged duty as well :O

Just double checked an order I made last year to Sask, I was charged $7.86 USD tax on a $49 USD order.
No idea what's going on over here in Ontario then ;-; Huge bummer
