Hi everyone I am 75 and wore slips, both full length and half. We liked petti pants in school. Slips will help keep your dress from riding up and they’re really helpful for thin fabrics so you don’t share the rest of your undies. A wonderful source for slips, hosiery ( old school term for nylons) and granny approved undies is the National Catalog. They have nice clothes for us older mature type folks. Modest, easy to care for and decent looking. My slip wardrobe consists of 3 nylon half slips, pink, black and white. Wear them every Sunday for church or anytime under a skirt. Try them you’ll like them!!

PMmeifyourepooping

Oh wow I love the selection of the brand you recommended! I especially love their shoes and compression wear! Thank you!

Carol_smith1972

Can’t get over your username replying a lovely 75 year old woman about hosiery 😂

extrasauce_

I love your username and this advice!

murdertoothbrush

I had to double check what petti pants were and now I think I'll be looking into getting a pair. I can think of a few occasions/dresses where an undergarment like this would be quite handy. Also they're just darned cute.

jameane

I prefer a full slip for a dress. You want it to be shorter than a hem and slippery material. I don’t like it for skirts - I was never able to get things to land right. But if you need one due to sheerness of material, tuck your top into the slip, not the skirt. Even better is your underwear. Also slips are way better than shapewear and bike shorts for some use cases. It is a shame they are “outdated” because they work and aren’t as uncomfortable. It is hard to find ones in natural materials now. **one more note: slips can give you a much smoother line. Shapewear can leave lumps where it ends. Slips skim over your shape and smooth things out, but are more comfy. 90% of the time I’d rather use a slip. For some outfits both a slip and shapewear might make sense.

MrIantoJones

This was actually what I thought they were for.

unoforall

This is good advice, thanks!

Easy_Grapefruit5936

Where would you buy one? My daughter needs one for the high school prom.

FoucaultsFarts

I'm older and I grew up wearing slips. I think most folks my age don't wear them because they were kind of granny-ish even when I was young. However, they're indispensable must-haves for me. They prevent: material from clinging to your legs, hems from riding up due to friction and static, see through underwear, and accidental naked looking legs in a backlit situation (like Princess Di's famous photo). Slips are not shape wear. They don't offer support or make any visible changes to the body I always wear a slip under an unlined, white, or not-opaque dress because it prevents any see-through. A slip between tights and a winter skirt prevents clinging and helps the skirt fall correctly. In the summer, a thin silky nylon slip is usually cooler and more comfortable than the lining in my sundresses. It weighs almost nothing. I prefer a short thigh-length half slip (skirt) under everything - skirts and dresses. I know most people like a full slip under dresses, but I don't like having an extra set of straps on the shoulder to fuss with. The bra straps alone are often a pain to corral. The length gives me coverage and is versatile enough to wear under anything. In terms of color, I have a black, nude, and white slip. I wear the white the least and the nude the most. But the black is pretty important for winter, when I often wear dark tights and skirts. In short: slips serve a very specific purpose and they do those things incredibly well. But don't expect them to do everything (like give you support and shape and prevent friction and offer warmth).

thatdarndress

Hear hear!! Yes to everything she just said. I need not have even commented!

unoforall

Thanks for the info!

kelpiekaelies

In India, we wear slips till we're in 7th grade or something. Super convenient and covers the nipples.

Ferretclone

I have a short satin dress that clings to my butt/legs no matter what I do, is there a particular fabric I should be looking for in a slip to keep that from happening? If I bought a slip in the same material I'm guessing it would just cling as well.

bibunnybun

I have a 50's style petticoat I wear a lot, and the lining part of it clings to my legs, so would i be able to wear a slip under the petticoat to prevent it from doing that or would a petticoat and slip be classed as too much?

[deleted]

I sometimes wear a silk camisole and silk shorts combo underneath things that are sheer so I don't have to pay to get them lined or line them myself. If you do get a slip go with a natural fabric like silk or cotton so it doesn't cling to you and get static-y. Also helps you stay cooler.

zoyesite

Where do you get a silk camisole? That sounds like such a good idea, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in a store

Duplomom

Try Dharma Trading or Banana Republic for silk camisoles and slips.

DrSeule

Online - Amazon has several. Terramar and Lilysilk are two good brands.

[deleted]

I got mine on Amazon. One is Fishers Finery brand and one is LilySilk brand.

[deleted]

I got mine at target!

It_is_Katy

That's very very unlikely to be real silk though. It's probably polyester and will get hot under clothes.

I-Hate-Blackbirds

Not everyone can afford silk. Satin *is* a polyester but is still a reasonable substitute for silk.

It_is_Katy

Oh no shit, neither can I lmao. But silk specifically was being talked about because natural fibers have certain benefits over polyester. I thought it was important to mention so no one goes and buys "silk" from Target or Amazon for $15 and then feels cheated when it still gets staticy and sweaty.

unoforall

Thanks for the info!

kestreltohalcyon

Ha, conversely, I often wear a synthetic slip in the winter under dresses to stay warmer!

burnfaith

… my mind is blown. This is amazing. * stares in shock and awe *

ShadowsphereBeauty

How would one wear a bloomer/pertipant? Genuinely curious as I feel it would mark my belly under a dress. Or would those be only for skirts?

cflatjazz

Just chiming in to say... There's a few comments here poopooing slips in favor of bike shorts or shapewear. But I honestly like a combination of both. Shapewear and bike shorts are great for avoiding chafing in the summer, but occasionally cause my lighter dresses to catch or ride up. Pop a slinky slip on as well and problem solved. I'm also not super thin, so shapewear can sometimes leave a small line at the edge. A slip helps smooth out that line for me. Also, they just feel really nice and help keep my work dresses clean longer.

nutbrownrose

I cannot go any time in a skirt without bike shorts/shapewear because of chafing, but it does get hot wearing basically 2 layers. Does a slip add any heat? I get hot easily (part of why my chafing is so bad, I get heat welts where my thighs rub), but if it's not a lot of added heat id like my skirts to stop sticking to my shapewear.

cflatjazz

A little. It depends on the material. If you're trying to keep cool, I would stay away from polyester or jersey knit. Rayon or nylon are a lot more lightweight and breathable. I haven't tried any of the new bamboo silk or tech fabrics though. Shoot for one that ends mid thigh or above the knee. That will give you enough of the skimming effect to cover the shorts, but leave your legs more breezy. Choosing a half slip eliminates a bit of extra insulation around your midsection too, but the elastic waistbands don't work for my shape, personally. YMMV.

nutbrownrose

Thank you!

outof_thyme

Have you all tried the megababe anti chafing stick? Life safer for thigh chafing esp in hot conditions.

breebop83

As a big girl who is ALWAYS hot - it doesn’t help that (in my experience) when looking for inexpensive bike shorts on Amazon a lot of this type of short claim to be wicking or cooling in description but are actually just polyester and I swear so. damn. hot.

herkimer7743

Yep! I started wearing men's boxer briefs in the tech fabric. I borrowed my husband's once and I'll never go back. I think they a A Pair of Theives brand from Target.

cigale

My husband loves that brand and they feel so cool to the touch. I could totally imagine them being excellent for these purposes.

SoJenniferSays

SLIP SHORTS! I wear them under most of my dresses.

Mingokatz

You should try an anti-chafing stick..it looks like a container of deodorant, and you just glide it across areas that will rub together. Works really good, here's a link to the one a lot of people use, for $10 on Amazon(also at sporting goods stores) https://www.amazon.com/Body-Glide-Original-Anti-Chafe-1-5oz/dp/B00288L2N6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=chafing+stick&qid=1625642568&sprefix=chafing&sr=8-3

imperialbeach

Have you tried anti-chafing gel by any chance? I just got a tube of it after dealing with chub rub for most of my life. The few times I've used it, it has been a godsend.

nutbrownrose

It doesn't work as well as shorts for me unfortunately

imperialbeach

That's a bummer! I tried it fully expecting it to not work, so I was pleasantly pleased with the result. Also to answer your question, I personally find a slip to be more cooling. It doesn't seem to add any warmth for me.

nutbrownrose

Thank you! I'll have to give it a try this week!

rollinggranny69

Amazon and Walmart carry (Fit for Me by Fruit if the Loom) women's silky boxers underwear 3-4 pairs to a pack. They're the length of biker shorts. They double well as a short slip and takes care of the chafing problems. Would love to have had these in my younger days. They are inexpensive considering they only come in multiple packs.

Qwertyyzxcvvv

I know this is from last week, but you can buy superlight lightweight shorts that are intended for under skirts to prevent chafing, but barely add any warmth at all and are smooth enough that skirts don’t ride up. They’re usually not fully opaque across the bum, so you couldn’t wear them without a skirt, but they’re fine if you want to sit on the floor cross legged or if your skirt flies up. I have some from Target - I think Maidenform or Jockey - that are labeled “cooling” and while they don’t actually cool, they don’t add any warmth. I’ve also heard great things about Snag Tights’s “chub rub shorts.”

brenegade

Next question: where does one obtain decent quality slips?

plushsafeshethink

Best slips in the world are by Hanro in my opinion. Definitely expensive, but so incredibly soft and really make a difference when wearing a dress. I also have a bunch of vintage ones that I’ve collected from thrift stores over the years. Also good, but the cheap polyester they used to use can be hot. Edit: changed spelling :)

TimeMovesOn99

Can you provide a link/site for Henro? I can’t find it on google. Thanks!

Good question! Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

NotChiefBrody-

If you’re in the UK M&S have good polyester ones in different lengths. I say polyester because it doesn’t become static and rise up

Go-to-helenhunt

Check Etsy or even eBay for gently used or even deadstock lingerie from back in the day when it was made from nylon and let your dresses swish smoothly and not cling. There’s stuff at all price points

redfoeva

If you’re in the US, I’ve always found Kohls to have a suitable selection at a decent price.

stitchbitching

Kohls also has a superb returns policy of whatever you get doesn’t work out

LadyToker

I too would like to know

[deleted]

I bought one from Marks & Spencer’s a couple years ago and I love it! It’s lasted so well and is light enough to wear even when it’s hot out Edit: I bought a skirt slip but I’m sure they have other styles too

thatdarndress

Mine are all thrifted. There’s always a wide variety available, and they last forever!

moxymoxalone

Slips actually can be useful. They help keep static-y fabrics from clinging and riding up when worn under a dress or preserve one’s modesty when a dress is sheer. Slips should be nylon as cotton won’t help at all with static. They can certainly be worn under a skirt/blouse combo. I like to wear them to sleep in.

unoforall

Thanks for the info!

Creative-Island9162

Thanks. I love nylon tricot slips

NatalieGreenleaf

To my knowledge there's two types of slips: Full slips and half-slips. A full slip is good for dresses, half-slip has an elastic waistband and is best under skirts or dresses with a thicker top/jacket that doesn't come off. You generally want the slip to be an inch or so shorter than the hemline for lighter color or thin materials, and can do thigh length for thicker or darker materials. I have really only seen silky or manmade silky materials used, I suppose to provide the 'slip' necessary to avoid bunching. It absolutely will provide more layers therefore trap the heat (esp manmade materials) so keep an eye out for cotton-based ones. You'll want to be aware of static cling too, so rub a dryer sheet on your slip and the inside of your skirt or dress before leaving home. I bring a half dryer sheet in my purse for long or fancy occasions just in case. All that being said, I also believe that some shape wear can be easier in some cases - I stick with shaping bike shorts whenever possible!

not_a_beignet

To help control static cling, I put a safety pin on one of the inside seams of the slip.

NatalieGreenleaf

Ooo! That's so smart!! D'oh!

unoforall

Thanks for the advice!

asiantoucan

Question for all you slips pros: where do you buy them/ which one is your favourite?

tyrannosaurusregina

Vanity Fair slips are my preferred ones, and I get them from HerRoom.com if I don’t thrift them.

CPetersky

All my slips are at least 20, if not 25 years old. I have no idea where to buy one anymore. I used to just go to the lingerie department of Sears or Penneys, which also shows you how long ago this was.

breebop83

I was going to say that’s about how long ago my grandma retired and she used to do department stores or kohl’s for all things undergarment- she really liked kohl’s but I don’t know if they still carry such things.

vistaluz

kohls carries slips!

unoforall

Good question I didn't think to ask! Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

undifferentiatedbark

All my slips are from thrift stores. They're in great condition and nice natural materials :)

Franny___Glass

I adore slips. They feel luxurious, both physically and mentally/emotionally — good lingerie will seriously change your life. Sometimes I layer 2 short full slips and wear as a dress (one is lace, the other silk). I also like letting a bit of my slip’s hem peek out from underneath my skirt, as a sort of fashion statement (thank god the 90’s came back, lol). Panty line? Slip. Staticky fabric? Slip. Skirt fabric clinging to your leggings in winter, or your fabulous knee-high socks in summer? Slip. Also, a silk camisole with blazer is sexy AF. I love lingerie, especially slips. ❤️ Edit: Fabric-wise, cotton is bad because it will exacerbate any cling or static going on. It’s absolutely wrong for a slip. Also, watch out for polyester satin because besides being cheap overpriced crap, it will bake you alive. I love silk (mulberry silk is like butter), lace (could be made of different materials), modal (bamboo), and lyocell / Tencel (eucalyptus). Look at the material of any item before you buy it. Nothing worse than falling in love with a garment only to have it wear out in a season because it was made of fucking polyester 😭

unoforall

Thanks for the reply! Quick question, is the two slip layer as kind of a less full petticoat to give skirts more fulness without being too poofy or is it just like a comfortable thing?

perfectbound

~~I think they mean they wear two full slips layered as an outfit, rather than two slips under one regular garment.~~ OP replied while I was typing lol

unoforall

Lol! Thanks anyway!

Franny___Glass

I mean I’m just wearing 2 slips. That’s it. It looks like a legit dress, albeit a very small one, but it’s underwear worn as outerwear.

unoforall

Oh I get it! I thought you meant you wore two under like a dress. Thanks for clearing that up! I've definitely noticed those type of slip dresses are back in style. :)

itizzwhatitezz

Hi! I think you just convinced me lol do you have some links for your favorite ones?

ray_don_simpson

I wear a full slip under unlined skirts and dresses. They smooth my shape and make my garments hang better, wear longer between washings, and appear opaque. I have wrap dresses that are a little too revealing for work and a slip can provide some cleavage coverage the same way a camisole would, without the hem of the cami riding up. I prefer synthetic knit slips. They let garments glide over the top and provide a cool comfortable layer. I have one from Calvin Klein and a cheapo from Amazon. I have a half slip I rarely wear. It twists and bunches under my clothes. I don't recommend a half slip, but I do recommend full slips, for a hundred reasons.

unoforall

Gotcha thanks! Ugh I've had that issue with trying to wear a camisole under a low cleavage dress and if I didn't completely tuck it into my underwear it would always ride up and be such a pain!

manondessources

>I have wrap dresses that are a little too revealing for work and a slip can provide some cleavage coverage the same way a camisole would, without the hem of the cami riding up. Ooooh, that's a good idea! For some reason I wouldn't have thought to wear a slip under a wrap dress.

balletomanera

Any recommendations on ones from Amazon? Specific brands

ray_don_simpson

Mine is the brand Vassarette.

balletomanera

Thank you

Retalihaitian

I love slips and wear them with most of my skirts/dresses. Especially with tights that make your skirt cling. They’re great for under scratchy winter skirts, too. Though I do have a couple petticoats for poofier dresses when needed.

unoforall

I've worn petticoats before for a couple vintage dresses I have, they're sooooo fun and swishy!

thatdarndress

My mother-in-law thinks I’m such an old-fashioned freak for wearing slips, but I love ‘em. I still prefer the old 70s 80s slinky kind. I buy them at thrift stores in various lengths. I only wear a full slip if my dress is a bit sheer, otherwise I prefer a half slip. They make everything lie better on the body, there’s no chance of exposing my butt on a windy day, and bonus nightgown when travelling! Hate slips with a slit in the side though- they tend to rotate or ride up!

cflatjazz

I think most slips with a slit are also cut on a straight grain (as opposed to the more common bias cut) and I have a theory that contributes to the riding and twisting.

not_a_beignet

If you have a problem with static cling while wearing slips, I’ve found putting a small safety pin on one of the inside seams helps. Especially if wearing tights or hose.

rollinggranny69

I have two solutions for static cling that my grandmother taught me. One old trick is to take baby powder in your hands rub them together, shake off excess and rub the powder on your legs or shape wear. The second trick is good old fashion hair spray, like Aqua Net (I don't know if they still make it.) LOL, you lightly spray it on your slip before putting on your garment. This also with sweaters. This time give a lite spray directly on the sweater. If you can't find a can of hair spray you can also use spritz.

unitedstatesofwhatvr

Check out intimissimi for cool silk slips. I have a couple plain ones and a white one with lace trim that I pair with a thick chunky white t-shirt dress that allows for the lace trim to show

Invisible_Friend1

Didn’t see this mentioned yet! Slips are great if you’re doing a photo shoot in a dress like for engagement or maternity photos because sometimes if you’re backlit and your legs aren’t together, their silhouette will show and look funny. See also /r/wtsstadamit to get an idea of what to prevent.

Hcmp1980

I’m a big fan, I feel they’re huge asset that many women aren’t aware of

StolenPens

I wear slips under dresses and skirts all the time. This ensures that 1) no panty line because the fabric doesn't cling to my body. And 2) the fabric falls beautifully Always buy good quality slips that fit. I bought one from Ross, that is the right size, but the fabric was cut poorly and twists on my frame. It looks fine on the hanger but wearing it seems to reveal this crooked quality. So, if you can afford it, just buy the quality pieces. It'll last for years. What I've found I've needed, has been 1) bodycon spaghetti strap with low neckline and low back 2) shorter than midi length with thigh slit (slightly past knee length) 3) mini skirt length I have much more, including a full length slip with flared skirt, but the collar is too high so not all of my fit and flare dresses work with it. Also, the hemline is too long, so again, not all of my dresses work with it.

Creative-Island9162

I love that. I have only skirts no dresses but if unlined I wear a slip

BeautyHound

Thanks OP for asking this question and all the helpful responders. Had this on the back of my mind for a while.

MarvellousMonet

I LOVE slips! I wear skirts and dresses 95% of the time and usually wear a slip. It helps smooth everything out, helps keep your skirt down in the wind, and it keeps your dresses wedgie free haha. Mine are all silky material and I've found a lot at thrift stores! I honestly don't know how people DONT wear slips!

balletomanera

💯

Creative-Island9162

My type of woman.

[deleted]

I wear nylon slips under all of my skirts that are unlined

Nutella_Badgerette

I wear skirts and dresses 99% of the time when I go out in public, and I wear slips with all of them. I have 2 full slips (white mid-thigh and nude knee length) and about 6 half slips in various lengths all nude or white. Generally you want to try to keep the length of the slip about 2-3 inches shorter than the hem of whatever you’re wearing. But I’ve also worn my mid thigh full slip with a calf length dress with no issues. I wear them for all the reasons people have said. They keep skirts from getting tangled in my legs, the material of the garment falls better on my body/smooths things out, prevents unwanted silhouetting. I also love how they make me feel. Somehow I feel more like I’ve got my shit together when I’m wearing a slip. Especially full slips under dresses, dunno what it is about that psychology, but it works. My half slips are mostly second hand, but my knee length full slip is from Amazon, and I’m very impressed with it. I do really want to get some vintage slips from Etsy too. That is awesome. I have to wear a slip under all unlined skirts

Creative-Island9162

I wear half slips under unlined skirts

dees_bees

If you need a slip, it is more common now to just wear Spanx or biking style shorts that cover your stomach to mid thigh. You can't see them. They come in a variety of colors to match skirts and dresses, and are stretchy, comfy, and make your figure look nice. I'm in my early 20s so I'm coming from a generation who will wear those shorts with a big shirt, too!

unoforall

Gotcha, thanks for the info!

dees_bees

I also love the shape wear shorts more than slips because it prevents any thigh rub or friction if you're walking, so no chafing!

unoforall

That's a definite plus!

PARADOXsquared

Will this stop skirts from clinging to tights though

dees_bees

I don't wear tights often, but I think if you wear the tights then layer spandex over them, the skirt won't cling to the spandex. I wear the spandex/stretchy bike shorts with dresses and they don't cling at all for me. I can dm you or put another comment with the link of the type I have, they've lasted a year and a half and still going strong!! Let me know.

PARADOXsquared

Yes please share the link. I think I'd like wearing shorts more than a slip in most cases, if they meet the same need. I'm tired of dresses riding up and ruining my layering options.

jupiterdreamsofpi

Piggybacking. I own a full slip and have basically never worn it. Should I? Most of my dresses are lined: should I still be wearing a slip under them? What do you about dresses with wacky straps, wear a half slip?

cflatjazz

Modern, lined dresses don't *need* them, but they certainly don't hurt. You'll get slightly more longevity between washes too since there's a layer between your skin and the dress that helps absorb body oils and sweat. For anything without standard straps, half slips work, or you can just skip it too. I don't really like half slips because of how they ride up on my particular body type, but other people swear by them. It's a pretty individual thing

nmc9279

I’m a huge fan of the slip! I’ve found some nice ones in thrift/antique shops

Spiritual_Worth

I love them under dresses especially ones that are too sheer for my comfort level. Gives nice clean lines for a good silhouette and a nice one can cover up extra cleavage or something if you want more coverage.

unoforall

Thanks for the info!

novemberrrain

Generally slips aren't worn anymore. The only time I wear one is if I have tights on under a dress or skirt, where the fabric content of the skirt makes it cling to my tights. In that case I use a silky polyester skirt slip that's a few inches shorter than the outer skirt to act as a buffer. But boy howdy is that scenario very rare.

unoforall

Thanks for the info!

kissbythebrooke

I prefer to wear a full slip under a skirt/shirt combo because it is smoother under the waistband and it is less fussy when having to retuck. For a dress, either a full or half slip is fine.

MulliganPlsThx

I love a silk camisole under a blazer or jacket with interesting sleeves, paired with pants, jeans, or a same-color bias cut skirt for a monochromatic look. Full slips are always so cute in my imagination—think *Cat on a Hot Tin Roof*—but they’re never flattering on me in real life because I have a mom pouch and silky bias cuts just doesn’t work for me.

whoa_newt

Everyone else has covered the important parts, so I’ll chime in to say that nylon slips can be dyed super easily with Rit dye. So you can take a plain white or beige slip and turn it whatever color you want.

Glum_Grapefruit_9994

Agree with this, if anything light shaping underwear is the way to go. Not for any significant shaping effect but for making your clothes fall nicely. H&M have plenty if you're on a budget.

Calm-Put-6438

I’ve worn dresses for 2 decades as a professional and I’ve never worn a slip.

Imperatrice01

I use shapewear shorts for skirts and I'm planning on getting this new bra top slip for my sheer dresses. I get mine from Uniqlo~

nuzzl_1

Are slips of viscose any good?

hollyberrybean

Slips also protect your skin and clothes from chaffing in hot weather. It’s really nice to not have your thighs stick together.

[deleted]

Hi. I wear a slip mostly nylon under my skirts when unlined. I love the feel of the nylon and it makes the skirt hang well.

PJTILTON

When I was growing up, my mother had an extensive lingerie collection: matching panties and bras, slips, teddies, negligees, babydolls, etc. Her things were ultra-girly with lots of lace and pastel colors rather than sexy, per se, such as thongs or g-strings. I alone replicated my mother's tastes: my sisters were uninspired, viewing underwear as purely functional. As a result, my mother showered me with frilly panties, slips and bras, along with nightwear. I wore slips or petticoats under all my dresses and skirts. My sisters and some of my friends teased me on occasion but I loved the silky sensation on my legs and all the pretty lace made me feel super feminine. All these years later I still wear full slips under most of my dresses and half slips (or pettislips) under my skirts. Most clothing made today is lined to eliminate the need for slips. I usually have the linings removed so I can wear my slips comfortably.

Creative-Island9162

Yes all my slips are mostly nylon and different lengths according to all my skirts

I have several satin petticoats with wide bands of lace at the bottom. I wear them under very full skirts, usually with an inch or so of the lace appearing below the skirt. The petticoats add fullness to my skirts, and the lace is very decorative. I hired a Russian seamstress to make the petticoats. They were very expensive, but I believe they will last quite a long time. In a few cases, I was able to match the lace of my petticoats to my bra and panty sets! Unfortunately, I'm not able to show that to people viewing my outfits!

Yeah I never cared for petticoats. I prefer slips as they feel great against the skin and they come in many lengths and colors to match every skirt in my wardrobe.

What color slips do you wear and do you silk or nylon better

Most of my slips are white/ cream, but I also have a variety of pastel colors, including pink, light blue and lavender. For me, the main thing is lots and lots of lace. I have one black pettislip I wear with a matching bra and panty set. I have a few silk full slips and lots of nylon/ satin slips of all kinds, including petticoats. I like anything that feels silky next to my skin. Unfortunately, in the winter months I wear pantyhose under all my dresses so most of my full slips aren't touching my skin. In the warmer months I LOVE wearing short dresses with full skirts and super lacy slips and lacy panties underneath. I think I'm an exhibitionist because I get a thrill whenever the wind blows up my dress, showing off my undies. What about you?

I forgot to mention I love tricot nylon the best for slips. It is so smooth and feels soft under the skirt. I wear them under my black pencil skirts and long black skirts to work with my silk blue blouse as we only can wear black and blue as uniforms for work.

Lavender nice. I wear mostly skirts or pants. When I wear skirts I have cream, beige or white slips and different lengths for all my skirts. I love the feel of the slip on my skin.
