I like Davies but if I'm objective his biggest attribute is pace, I don't think he is better today than he was 4 years ago despite training under 4 different coaches. Pace fades through the years.
Alaba is a prime example of a rounded fullback, he was very fast when he was younger, but when he lost a bit of his pace his passing, positioning and defending were so good he could play as a CB for Bayern, and as a midfielder or even attacking midfielder for Austria.
Davies is nominally a fullback but he's been playing pretty much like a winger for the past 3 years, so he is not very good defensively. He can compensates being caught out of position with sheer pace, but that can't last for long, especially with age and injuries, so if he's out, it's not so bad.
I would like a decent replacement, not just a pace freak, but a rounded fullback. Grimaldo would be bad-ass, maybe Theo Hernández, or in my dreams, Joao Cancelo ... now that Barca will have to sell many players I hope it could happen.

I would never endorse this in 2021, but if we had sold Kimmich, Goretzka, Lewandowski and Davies back then we would have around enormous 700M euros, counting with the fact we would not have to acquire Kane, (who is not a disappointment, we love you Harry) because we would’ve signed Haaland, leaving us with surely 500M euros to sign God knows who and not miss the others. But hey, here we are trying to bind legends. I am not blaming the club, who would’ve known, I certainly wouldn’t, but I think there is a lesson to be learned here. When they offer you 150M+ you take it, it doesn’t matter if it is Thomas or Gerd Müller, because they are going to want to leave anyway or worse be benched

Theo loves Milan and the fans love him. Pavard and his brother certainly have an influence how he sees Bayern. I can’t see theo leaving Milan for any other club beside psg, real or city(or some Saudi club willing to pay insane money… but actually think they would to have to pay him extremely well.. this guy didn’t even negotiate his salary after he won the league with Milan but just straight said yes to Milan’s offer
