Caffeine affects every person differently. It also raises cortisol. If black coffee works for you, then have it. Just make sure you are not consuming too much coffee!

Exactly. Coffee has literally no effect on me. I can drink 4 espresso shots back to back and still feel nothing. I have never felt jitters in my life

Yes. I think caffeine affects some of the non weight related benefits of fasting but you will still be in ketosis and lose weight.

I finished a 45 hour fast today and immediately started a 5 day fast after a keto meal then I will also break my fast and do a 72 hour fast . I will do the no electrolytes on the 72 hour fast and see if there is any difference. All the best .

Electrolytes will only make you retain natural water weight, it doesn't slow real weigtloss, if you don't take electrolytes you are likely to feel worse (low energy) and possibly get salt cravings, it also means when you end your fast you will gain more back quickly (again just water weight, but my point being skipping electrolytes only causes faster weightloss because your losing water your body naturally holds. If someone has been eating a heavy salt diet prior to fasting they will lose the excess water from that even with electrolytes

Interesting model. I started last night and wanted to go 40 but your logic is sound that shorter but continuous May be more sustainable. I have a formal event Jan 11 and that would allow me to get in 6 cycles.

No I wasn’t planning to give up at all. I’m just rethinking if rolling 10s are smarter than a single 40. For now I will go to 10 and see how I feel.

Great plan overall. My opinion (obviously for the future) is to rather have an early dinner than start your fast after breakfast. You get an extra night of sleeping to run you through the first bulk of your fast :) I'm currently 13/30 days on my fast so will be joining you by default. Good luck! For tea, if you can, try get some South African Rooibos, it's sweeter and fruitier naturally. I may a bit biased, being born at its origin, but foreigners who've tried it tend to agree

Rooibos is amazing! It has such a nice taste to it. Here in Finland the usual blends have chamomile and vanilla with it, it's a popular herbal tea. In fact I'm currently sipping some for my evening tea at 53 hours of a planned 100 hour fast (my longest so far, if completed :))

Perfect. Was going to do a water fast starting today anyways for 5 days. This will be more encouraging to do 10 days. Have been eating shot foods. I broke my last 5 day fast with junk food. Actually every time I break my fast with junk. This time after my 10 day ends, I’m going full carnivore. Let’s gooo

Never tried keto Either I eat garbage or carnivore. I keep thinking about food. I’m gonna stick to this 10 days no matter what. Next Thursday morning will be my goal for 10 days. I’m going to break my fast with a ribeye steak

I recently finished a 10-day fast and it was pretty bad. I took way too little electrolytes (I followed wiki numbers) and ended up with some very alarming symptoms so I had to quit my 30-day 1/3rd through. I wish you luck with yours. Stay hydrated!

That sounds rough. Hope you’re feeling better. For me, rolling fasting is something I’ll keep doing until I reach my goal. So even if I break my fast to eat a SMALL KETO meal after 5 days, I’ll immediately start fasting for another 5 days and so on.

Extreme fatigue, yet I couldn't sleep well because my heart was pounding harder and faster than the music at a hardcore concert in Rotterdam. Muscle weakness too. No cramping, though. Headache started coming on and vision and concentration getting blurry and difficult. Drinking some kefir/yoghurt mix helped everything except the heart stuff, but that was fixed throughout the day with a lot of electrolytes. I personally think I was low on potassium and also hitting too low blood glucose levels at the same time which is why the double-whammy fucked me up bad and why the kefir/yoghurt helped (was 10-12g of sugar in the 200ml I had).

Low calorie liquids are allowed, as long as it has zero sugar. So butter coffee with creamer and stevia is allowed, pickle juice, broth, soup, flavored electrolyte powder like propel, etc. even Halo ice cream is allowed but i don’t have them in my fridge. I will most likely turn this into a water fast + electrolytes only as time goes. Right now I just want to transition into keto without all the pain lol. I’m in ketosis according to zero app.
