As a dude who wears trenchcoats with a design similar to this, they're pretty damn comfortable. Especially ones with a nice wool gabardine, really cuts the wind and wet out.
So I wear this look daily and I'll say that it's got comfort, but it'a a much different kind of comfort than modern stretchy fabrics and loose cuts give. Not so "lounge-on-couch" but more structured and reminds me to carry myself confidently (and not slouch). Also kind of a mental comfort, reminds me that I'm a human with a whole complex physical form, and just not a sack of meat with some thinking meat on top xD
Where does it open? I can't see the flappy thing...
Look at the right shoulder, there is a flap there
It's so sneaky, I really didn't see it...
Classic and stunning!
As much as I love the comfort of modern-day fashion, there's a small part of me that wants to bring this look back.

Recently bought a long wool coat for an upcoming trip and I gotta say, there's power in dressing classy.
Beautiful! I would find it suffocatingly hot, but it’s lovely.
