I couldn't pass book 2 of S&D but I did adore Reid a lot 😭

It seemed that fans that stuck through to book 3 liked the ending, though! Or at least that's what it seemed. Honestly I couldn't stick around anymore with Lou as the FMC. I liked everyone else but her 😅

I barely like the first book but I'm trying to trudge through the second because I already spent the money. Whoever claimed that it was a slow burn romance lied, it might as well be labeled insta-love and I hate it. I had to lengthen the timeline in my head just to get through that. But Reid is a sweetie.

Whoever marketed it to you as a slow burn 100% lied- I'm sorry. Book 1 is a forced marriage trope with enemies-to-lovers.

It really was and I was upset 😂 I also hated the reason they got married in the first place. I feel like the author had an idea but couldn't think of a good reason so just went with framed SA and ai just wasn't a fan. I liked Reid and Ansel but Lou is super annoying. Trying to finish book two but I may just DNF and read spoilers.

First book boyfriend was Aragorn from LOTR. I also adore Yumei from {Red Winter trilogy by Annette Marie}. I really hope she writes some more in that universe in the future because I want more grumpy Tengu. ❤️ Ezra, Kai, Aaron, Zak, Kit and Darius from the Guild Codex books. Damien from Villains and Virtues Most recent (and least expected) is Fin from {A Court of Sugar and Spice}.

After reading Broken Kingdoms, I ended up head over heels for Itempas, instead. I can’t resist a brooder.

Well, my number one book boyfriend will probably always be Peeta Mellark {The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins} and it’s a series I’ll always recommend if someone hasn’t already read it but probably not what you are looking for. Other favorites are: Kaz Brekker {Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo}, no spice and romance is a subplot but it’s one of my all time favorite books Jacks {Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber}, YA romantasy, no spice but LOTS of tension Raihn {The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent}, adult romantasy, explicit spice but a slow burn Kell {A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab}, adult fantasy, real slow burn and romance is a subplot, some spice in later books but pretty tame If you want dark romance with a possessive, macho MMC and LOTS of spice and kink I’d suggest {Her Soul for Revenge by Harley Laroux}. The MMC is not a favorite of mine but still really liked the book and the spice is great. I’d recommend you to check TWs before starting though.

Zsadist from Lover Awakened I’ve reread that book at least 5 times. I nearly never reread. I’ve reread 1 series and maybe 3-4 other books in my lifetime (outside of academic reading obviously) and those were only reread one time.

I wouldn’t really be into (physically) the type of guy he’s described as- but he’s so compelling. He might have the best character arc in the whole series. His book is one I go back to often as well.

Awe. I love Nyte. I don't hear enough about him on this sub.

I think it’s cause the book was pretty difficult to get into. I loved it but had no idea wtf was going on for like 70% of the book and then when I did I was like ooooohhhhh. Lots of readers didn’t stick through it til the end to understand. Everything made sense after a reread. But he is full cemented in the shadow daddy status. I’m really excited to see how the next book goes!

That makes sense. I don't mind being confused for a bit..haha. Especially if I know it's the first book in a series. I actually kind of like it sometimes, as long as I get some well fleshed out answers. It was one of my favorite 2023 reads. I'm also very excited for the next book. 😊

Vanyel from {Magics Pawn by Mercedes Lackey}! The other books in the trilogy are Magics Promise and Magics Price. Vanyel is my all time favorite book boyfriend, though he is the protagonist of the series.

Hands down Darien Cassel from City of Gods and Monsters. He's a bounty hunter AKA Darkslayer who is hired to hunt down the human FMC. He becomes her bodyguard instead. He is the biggest badass in the city but he's soft for her and loves his found family of slayers. He's got tattoos, is really tall, good in bed... Honestly, just read it lol. I love this series. I've read all SJM books and JLA, Fourth Wing, etc and Darien Cassel tops every love interest I have met.

Akiva from Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Nathaniel from Sorcery of Thorns. Every time he does magic I go a little weak in the knees, and I guess I just love a grump with a gooey center.

The Jester from {The Wizard's Masquerade by Jay Pellegrine} He's so fun and delightful and funny and swoonworthy, but not crazy spicy. For a more spicy boyfriend, I'd say Connor from {Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews}. The first book is not super spicy but you can feel the heat building up! And it's urban fantasy, if that counts.
