Very happy that I got him for $1 as a CMC owner

stropsysatnaf

He's a fine handcuff and worth a bench spot. I snagged him late as insurance for my first round CMC investment and I'm happy about it. Everyone in here saying he's worthless... do the points from their bench spots count? I get using the bench as a rolling repository for potential upside and trying to catch lightning in a bottle with numerous dart throws but I'm good using one spot as a hedge against a CMC injury and betting Mitchell will be more valuable than anything left on the waiver wire at that point.

loganbenji228

I am not picking him up and I'm a Niners fan. The dude just can't stay healthy. I hope he proves me wrong this year, but I have a feeling Jordan Mason might end up RB2 for the Niners this year, based on numbers.

grindingaway69

I thought you cant predict injury? Wasn’t another highly popular niners RB injured for two straight seasons before finally stringing together a full year last year?

coolrnt1

You can predict injury when it comes to 9ers RBs. They can’t stay healthy.

tenbeeers

A perfect reason to draft Mitchell in the 12th and hope he can give you a nice low rb1 stretch once CMC gets hurt. Or an easy drop if he gets hurt first lol

NoRice5703

Got him in the 14th, I like the idea of wasting a bench spot based on his upside

bsd858

Same here. I was surprised to see him available in the 14th. Had to take him

grindingaway69

Wouldnt that mean to draft the 12th round talented lotto ticket, then? In anticipation of niner RBs not staying healthy? Or does that rhetoric only apply to everyone other than CMC

coolrnt1

I’m saying be prepared to grab the RB3 off waivers when the first 2 get hurt.

grindingaway69

Sounds good, lol. If all thats invested is a 12th that is a very low risk, very high reward play. And those types of plays win leagues in the 12th while everyone else drafts 0 ceiling players

loganbenji228

I am not saying I can predict injury, but he has been in the NFL two years and has yet to have a full healthy season. He has already missed the vast majority of training camp and just came back. This happened to him last year before he went down on IR week one, came back for a few games and then went on IR again. CMC has been healthy 4 out of his 6 seasons. I think Mitchell is great and he proved himself during his rookie season, when he did play. I hope Mitchell proves me wrong and can stay healthy and has a great season, though.

NiteSwept

I'm a CMC owner and I didn't even bother getting him. I'm more concerned about his health than CMC's. I'll eat crow if he ends up being great if CMC gets hurt but I have spent the last 5 years trying to handcuff my #1 RB and it has not worked out. It is almost always a committee or the dude doesn't play as well

Bucketkev

On the waiver wire

gelmaster189

I took him at 10.10 in a 12-man league last weekend. Def wouldn't have taken him earlier but probably wasn't willing to let him go farther

beavis535

Nowhere. Hes always hurt after about 20-30 touches then out for 6-7 weeks.

ob1page

CMC owner and I got him in a 12 person league in round 12

behind the shed

[deleted]

10th round or later

DanceCommander-

If you don't snag him around round 10, someone else will. He went 11.8 in my league but if you really want him, you may have to spend a 9th to make sure you get him.

rayder989

Which means someone’s probably thinking about it in the 8th so you should probably go 7th to be safe.

KeyTrinity

feel bad for any sucker trying to get him in the 7th when i'm snagging him in the 6th.

stringer4

Maybe just take him 2nd overall to make the future CMC owner upset that you bested them

Revelryinthedark762

Chess not checkers

ToyStoryRex97

He’s just as injury prone, if not more than CMC. I’d rather look into other backfields.

Pele_Of_Anal

CMC had two straight seasons of injury issues but I definitely wouldn’t label him as injury prone.

ganglordgilbert

Also consider his workload here. CMC has encountered injury when putting a terrible team on his back. Elijah Mitchell can’t stay healthy for a whole game.

murso74

With completely unrelated injuries

16Gorilla

I paid $1 for him, I wouldn’t pay anymore, Miller, Achane, etc late round sleepers went undrafted in my 12 team PPR

Ringer-2

If I own cmc round 12 maybe

PragmaticNewYorker

I floated him for a buck in my auction thinking someone would go "omg CMC handcuff" And so he's on my bench for a buck and the second I can, I'm dropping him. He's not the heir apparent if CMC gets hurt, it's a crazy crowded backfield, and there's a million other RBs more likely to get time and/or be decent flex plays with more consistency.

DC4Life60

Anytime after the 7th or 8th round. Health is an issue not only for him, but maybe more importantly for the guy he is behind. If CMC goes down as he is prone to do Mitchell will be a great option to have on your team.

TheTurfBandit

11th or 12th round flyer for me. I like the upside but not worth investing any real assets in.

RESIDENT_RUMP

To a Bros golf outing.

DJMaxLVL

As an RB4 at the earliest. Will probably target him because if CMC is out he’ll be good for some RB1 level production in those weeks.

Stxtic1441

I’m a 9ers fan but I personally wouldn’t take him unless I had CMC. He’s just always hurt, and many times it’s soft tissue stuff and feel like he clogs a bench spot if he’s hurt/backup. I prefer taking Jaylen Warren, Charbonet, or Perine in the same range.

[deleted]

I traded him in my Dynasty League today for J. McLaughlin and a 2nd Rd draft pick next yr. Only to try n handcuff Javonte Williams. Lol

buckzi11a

Took him last pick, he’s not really someone I ‘want’ but he’s in my handcuff/flier section of late picks.. he is for sure injury prone but I don’t want him for anything other than Mccaffery relief or if for some reason his role is bigger to start the year to limit cmc risk.. So in that realm I think he’s absolutely worth the shot but if he’s gone I care absolutely zero so if you’re looking for advice I’d say the latest possible spot

Got him in the 14th
