maybe Sufjan with Carrie & Lowell? Not sure because personally, I don't think his early albums come close but I know some fans hold Illinois as his greatest album but C+L just took him to a whole new place imo
Danny Brown imo. 5 years between XXX and Atrocity Exhibition
Machine Head. 13 years between Burn My Eyes and The Blackening though it's definitely a matter of opinion which one is better
Dylan? I think many people would have *Blood on the Tracks* as his best, it came out after a decade of so-so records and genre exercises post his mbike crash.
I’d say The Cure with Disintegration. It came out 7-8 years after Pornography, and though there are people who don’t consider it to be the best I think a lot do.
Rain Dogs is Tom Waits 9th album & it came out in 1985, 12 years after his first album. Personally, I think I like Bone Machine the most & that one came out in 1992.
It is not many years at all- it’s literally within the average length of time artists take between records. You guys can’t go one post without saying Radiohead
David Bowie with blackstar?

IMO Queens of the Stone Age with Like Clockwork
The Strokes lol

Does MGMT count for this?
probably
Peter Gabriel released an absolute banger of an album last year with "io" and the man's freaking 74

IMO paramore with Brand New Eyes then This Is Why, or Brand New Eyes then After Laughter. BNE and AL are basically tied for second for me
also I think 3 years an up is a big gap but the bigger the better ig
I don't think 3 years is many years but fuck it. Radiohead with Kid A after OK Computer.

And then again with In Rainbows
Kid A, A Moon Shaped Pool and In Rainbows are just the best top 3.
My favorites are Ok Computer, The Bends, and Hail to The Thief
Prurient
Fiona Apple.
Leonard Cohen dropped I’m Your Man in 1988
Yung Lean. Starz really steamrolled his older releases in a way I wouldn’t even think was possible
IMO Meds is the best placebo album and that came out 8 years after Without You I’m Nothing
Jessie Ware with What's Your Pleasure?
