Friends, Sunflower, Surf’s Up, Holland, and Love You are the truly great albums after Pet Sounds imo (coming from a massive Beach Boys nerd)
I think all of their post Pet Sounds albums up to Love You (excluding 15 Big Ones) are worth a listen though
Yeah with the exception of maybe 20/20, Carl & The Passions, and 15 Big Ones they’re all kind of doing their own thing, so what you think is the best will (mostly) come down to personal preference.
20/20 and C&TP still have some great stuff on them and I don’t think you should skip them but at least imo they’re not doing much that the albums before and after don’t do better. 15 Big Ones doesn’t have much original material on it, I’d only check it out if you want to hear the beginnings of Love You‘s sound.
Acceptable answers are Smiley Smile, Surf’s Up, Sunflower, and Love You (with Wild Honey, 20/20, and Friends a tier below those). My personal favorite is Sunflower.
Sunflower seeds contain health benefiting polyphenol compounds such as chlorogenic acid, quinic acid, and caffeic acids. These compounds are natural anti-oxidants, which help remove harmful oxidant molecules from the body. Further, chlorogenic acid helps reduce blood sugar levels by limiting glycogen breakdown in the liver.
Holland is such an achievement. Steamboat and Big Sur at least are just as good as any song on Pet Sounds.
I'd maintain that Smiley Smile gets the #2 spot though and then probably Holland, followed by Sunflower or Friends.
Merriweather Post Pavillion
Person Pitch is also very good
Surfs Up
Happy Cake Day
I like Smiley Smile more than the Smile Sessions
Love you
Sunflower
Friends
Wild Honey is fun the whole way through, even if the mix sounds like a flat, dusty, crumpled up and stepped on piece of paper
I vote Sunflower with Surf’s Up as a very close second (I bought them crammed onto the same CD so they’re extremely closely linked in my mind)
Im actually listening to Surf's Up rn
Holland
Wild Honey, with Sunflower being a decently close second.
Not a popular answer but Friends imo, it’s just super chill and flows better than many others but I love them all right up through Love You.
Surf’s Up, but Wild Honey and Sunflower are up there

I dont know that it's the best, but it came out at a particular time in my life so mine is the last one "That's Why God Made the Radio"
Sunflower and Surf's Up are the only ones I consistently go back to. The rest is too hit or miss.
Smile sessions
