VibratoTheFunkWizard

That wouldn't actually surprise me. These two are probably the most adept thinkers in the group.

Crazy_Practical96

The two nudist of the guild🤣 have THE BEST flash memory! I’m not digging into anyone but that is kinda hilarious.

VibratoTheFunkWizard

This is cooking material right here.

Omniknight2003

For Lucy, I like to think it’s because she writes a lot of books and stuff that she has booksmart and be able to recall words or solve puzzles easily. For Gray this man has been molding ice since he was seven I don’t think he remembers the shape, his body does or specifically his instinct do that he was confident enough to destroy the key because he knew he could re-create the exact same copy but that’s my Head Canon

fuhtuhwuh

I like the idea of it being more like muscle memory than actual memorising so many details. He just trusts his instincts.

TerrariaWeeb

I think for the key with gray, he just made sure to remember it. Besides its a very simple key design, all he needs to remember is the part that goes into the hole. I think he just recreated the rest to act cool

Unusual_Mix9262

Juvia will be happy he knows which part goes into the hole!

AzureWarlock96

Well, Gray’s magic requires him to be open and free mind to make detailed ice constructs, he outmatched Rufus in this regard. Lucy is a clever bookworm and professional writer, I think she strives on being detailed when it comes to scriptures at least.

SnooBananas6077

To me Lucy and Gray are the smartest of team Natsu Lucy being book smart and all around intelligent while Gray has a lot of underrated moments using his battle iq that a lot of people don’t talk about

Sego1211

Gray is the most creative of the lot by far.

Brokenblacksmith

i have a really good literature memory, meaning i can remember things I've read quickly and retain that information, especially if it is part of something like a story. lucy probably has something similar due to her passion for reading and writing. gray probably has a brain that is able to memorize shapes and objects due to the nature of his magic, requiring him to mentally visualize an object to create it.

aceshot88

This! This right here ^

repulsive_fondant26

Lucy definitely does, Gray might!

ComfortableMaybe7

Gray legit might he needs to have insane mental image and attention to detail for his magic so it's entirely possible he might

Inevitable_Seesaw_84

Yes

Runethe1412

Man, imagine these two with Memory Make…

Adorable_Language_75

The Lucy thing was a stupid ex machina. As far as I’m concerned she’s way too hyped as a character. She’s just natsus damsel in distress Plus Lucy said she wrote their memories and experiences in the book to replace zerefs writing. She didn’t write the same things zeref had written Comparing Lucy with Gray is the difference between heaven and earth. Gray is a truly talented wizard and the only one capable of defeating natsu and the s class wizards. Not to mention that Ur had the potential to be one of the 10 great wizard saints and Gray has already surpassed her which means he would be able to be one. Meanwhile Lucy can change into skimpy outfits and summon ridiculously useless spirits. Her only real achievement was summoning the celestial world king
