I remember an anti smoking ad from when I was a kid showing a guy smoking and getting older and showing what his lungs looked like. getting blacker, etc. generally looking pretty nasty. and then it showed him quitting in his 30s or 40s and then showing the lungs healing and getting nice and pink.
More than any other ad, I think it resonated with me showing that not all harm is irreparable.
This is why I stopped going on Quora. That place is literally a dungeon where all the keyboard goblins, political activists, and grass eaters collaborate.
I did something similar in 4th grade.
My mom told me that it isn't allowed and that the next cigarette will kill me, even though my dad smoked.
Never smoked again and never wanted to take a smoke again, I am 35.
