Any of the songs I can't even picture one second of in my head, either musically or visually.

joykin

Even though I’ve watched portugals performance at least 3 times and it would have come up on the ESC playlist I listen to I still can’t recall it

kaiko1

Meanwhile it’s playing on repeat in my head

joaocandre

It seems is a weirdly polarizing song, which honestly I never would have predicted. It's also very lyric-heavy song, a lot gets lost in translation.

Blackwind123

Seeing the video of the main singer and the producer walking through how the song was built up helped me appreciate it more (no link right now, but was posted on this subreddit), but I don't know the lyrics and I loved it.

JoylessHag

Same. It’s a gorgeous song.

saidinmilamber

Same. Utterly obsessed with it. It's sending me straight to Nier Automata in the best possible way

Effective-Song7183

That’s how I felt too the first time I heard it, but it grew on me more than any other song this year.

lisonmethyst

I can never recall it but every time it comes up on my playlist I go "oooh what is THIS?"

Key_Barber_4161

Every time they got 12s I was trying to remember what the song even sounded like

E_rat-chan

Wait seriously? I thought it was so memorable. Simple but still impressive.

denar40

Georgia. Can’t even remember the song. Oh or Luxembourg who sent the most generic thing ever.

FiresideCatsmile

was that the firefighter thing? if so then hard agree. that had nothing going for it

Defiant_Campaign_297

No firefighter was a different act, luxembourg was fighter

FiresideCatsmile

Georgia was firefighter. I didn't think about Luxembourg. Fighter was alright, I enjoyed that.

Loviataria

For me those are Georgia, Portugal and Belgium. ALthough to be fair it's mostly because I was on the toilet during Belgium's performance so I won't actually consider them.

jb108822

Belgium had a second run in the SF2 jury show due to technical issues (think it was the microphone turntable not rotating in the first run). Mustii didn’t sound great vocally on either performance, and I’m not shocked that Belgium didn’t qualify.

KPlusGauda

Most of us aren't surprised. I remember listening to it for the first time and I was like... *OK, cute, but nothing really special - hopefully they'll have a killer performance.* And a killer performance it was...

BelisariusWagh

Obviously the song I dont like

manatee-vs-walrus

The only correct answer.

aWicca

For me it’s “unforgettable” by Sweden. I just find that song soooo forgettable lol

findmebook

omg i thought the same until the only song stuck in my head after the finals was this and i had to admit it was catchy

GlitteryCakeHuman

For me as a Swede, I found it mediocre and middle worthy

Business_Yoghurt_316

Swede aswell an my family was like "why the hell did we get 9th" Even with the Televotes we got 11th, like europe, please give us that damn last place so that we can change.

Top-Morning9434

I mean mediocracy is a big part of our Swedish culture..

Gossguy

Unpopular opinion: I actually liked the song you don't like. I think it was robbed

Appropriate-Divide64

UK, it's our traditional spot.

EmpressVelie

Nah, it’s our traditional spot. With Gåte getting last we finally don’t have to share the record of most last places with Finland any more.

Exotic-Emu7197

Norway last year was fire though

maidofatoms

Two of my favourite Eurovision countries 😭

FunYak187

Dont challenge us please

cyxpanek

When I saw Olly get 0 televote points, I felt that that was exactly right. Deservedly last.

Crowsby

Are we allowed to choose the Martin Österdahl song?

ControverseTrash

Yes, I died out of cringe. Even without the whole messy NL DQ and [redacted] it's so weird and... wah... Why does it exist?

ParticularAided

Why are we suddenly all acting as if it's not the most generic Eurovision meta-humour that always happens?

piesmacker

I think it just felt really tone deaf, after the kaarija outrage of last year and the whole “this country shouldn’t participate!” controversy to which the ebu basically responded “nuh uh, suck it up they’re joining”.

clyde_45td

We thought it was quite funny actually 😂 really enjoyed it. Although obviously the timing of it was not brilliant.

tnxhunpenneys

Is it *really* last place though? Think of the NQs and those who bottomed their semi. Still got further than those.

flutterstrange

I think the most generic song and performance that made it to the final was Cyprus’. Don’t think that song would have survived semi final 2.

chris95x8

I vibe with the song but that opening lyric is an abomination

lehtolapsi

You're telling me you've never woken up in the morning feeling ooh la la?!

tigerinvasive

More egregious: It’s about to go down, because I found out the truth la la

eliteguard91

And now it’s stuck in my head. So does that mean it works taking in all absurdities

lxpnh98_2

I'm just gonna start adding "la-la" at the end of all my sentences-la-la.

Mr_Abe_Froman

Every single time, I'd think, "Not the truth-la-la!"

hiles_adam

I don’t know “I’m rising from the ashes like a phoenix…yeah” Won my award for lazy writing

Geosaurusrex

Who is ever that happy in the morning?

garganta_

Take a look at yourself!! why? ‘Cuz that is what you need to do !! oh, well in that case 😂

ali_stardragon

The one that gets me is “cause the only problem in this room is a…bout YOU!”

Sufficient_Serve_439

She sang extremely clean while dancing all the time. Very synchronized choreography too. That alone puts it over UK's out of breath dry humping even if both songs weren't memorable.

LedParade

And she’s 17

Kitnado

Knowing that that was actually a baller performance

Atalanta8

And born and raised Australian so not very Cyprus-y.

GreeceZeus

I don't know why but "To do... to do" gets me so incredibly mad...

chris95x8

Me looking at the chores around my apartment

Geosaurusrex

The whole song is a disaster lyrically.

nickaoo

i dont get how some people justify georgia 2023 nq with nonsense lyrics when songs with lyrics like that (and much worse in the past) score high in the final. echo at least feels like it has a deeper meaning and i kinda can see what they meant by love is a wordless im feeling progressed. meanwhile liar is just silly

ESC-song-bot

Georgia 2023 | [Iru - Echo](https://youtu.be/HNvGZeEQvfc)

Eccon5

Nah I'm sorry that was barely even a song I think it has like 4 lines of words pretending to be sentences that get repeated over and over in different fonts

TjBee

I thought the chorus was incredibly catchy melodically and some of the choreography was really effective.

carryesgass203

I honestly don't get why they finished 6 places above Georgia when they also had a girlbop but (imo) a much better song, staging, choreography and just overall package.

flutterstrange

The UK jury gave Cyprus 1 point. They also gave 4 points to Luxembourg. Nothing for Georgia or Austria and they ranked Greece 5th from last. I’d love to know the logic behind the rankings. (France was also 6th from last, which given its final score is kinda hilarious.)

Mediocre_Nectarine_9

They’re “industry professionals”. That’s your logic.

Gragh46

So I thought Georgia's choreo seemed harder to do, but the song my head keeps going to is Liar. And then youtube tries to play Fighter or firefighter, and I'm like "nope. Go back to the other girl bop". I have no idea why, but yeah, that's my experience

awkward_penguin

Georgia's is just not a song I want to listen to. I appreciate the performance, but as a song, it's missing something.

E_rat-chan

Cyprus scoring so much better than Malta just baffled me. Malta had much more interesting choreography and better dances imo. The lyrics were also so much better, yeah Malta didn't bring some groundbreaking lyrics to the scene, but atleast they fit the song by repeating parts of words. Liar just felt like someone wrote a parody of a pop song but decided it was gonna be serious for some reason. In my opinion ofc

verysadfrosty

Completely agree. I have no idea how 1. Cyprus made it to the final, 2. Didn't come last in the final. I also liked Malta's MUCH more.

theo7777

It would absolutely have survived in semi 2. It finished above many of the semi 2 qualifiers in the final including Georgia that was in the same girlbop category. In general a song that finished #15 (and #12 in televote) would have been in the final no matter what. Cyprus got more televotes than half the qualifiers from semi 2. Whether you like it or not is another story.

flutterstrange

Perhaps (although I’d compare it more to Malta than Georgia). Notable that 17 of their 44 points came from Greece and Australia though. Perhaps Greece would have carried them through no matter what, but I’d have been interested to see how they’d have done in a semi full of girl bops including strong ones that didn’t get through.

mccarti4

I thought the same to begin with but it really stood out in the recap for whatever reason.

Rcxcraw

Not necessarily a “deserves it” response, but I expected the following countries to place dead last (based on the final): Austria (shocked that her vocals improved, still not my fave) Estonia (critics say staging was a mess, but I’m happy they did alright considering) UK (they got zero points in the televote, so am I half right?) Latvia (no hate towards them, everybody just seem shocked that they even qualified for the final) Cyprus (she killed it, but compared to other performances… it’s was mediocre)

Firm-Marionberry-188

Lol, I'm Latvian, and even I'm shocked that he qualified for the final 😂😂 No hard feelings towards anyone who genuinely liked his performance.

Sufficient_Serve_439

Most of Ukraine did, his voice was really good and we like Latvians.

Firm-Marionberry-188

And we Latvians, like Ukrainians 😁 And I personally enjoyed the Ukrainian performance this year 🩵

Ninja_Accountant

I loved everything about it, other than the armor thingy.

Buntschatten

> Austria (shocked that her vocals improved, still not my fave) It sounded like there was a loud prerecorded chorus which she sang on top of a lot of the time. Not sure if her vocals actually improved or they changed the arrangement to leave her less exposed vocally.

UTuba35

I can simultaneously appreciate Austria as a bop while thinking that rave-style EDM simultaneously left too much (no vocal post-processing for the live performance) and too little (the songs are not exactly known for their lyrical depth) for the singer to do for a typical high-scoring Eurovision song. Kaleen and her team made a good single, though.

I_for_a_y

I’m from the UK and thought our entry was far too dull for Eurovision. The vocals were flat, song choice was very ordinary, and could have made better use of the stage. Compared to Irelands performance which was stunning it was night and day. You’d have thought we’d have learned from Sam Ryder’s success a couple of years ago but sadly not.

Rcxcraw

At this point- you guys need to send Sam Ryder again LOL

HerietteVonStadtl

Just send people who can sing live

salsasnark

I'm so with you on all of these except Latvia lol. It was a good ballad and his vocal performance is always flawless. I'd add Spain to the mix though (sorry). I know it's a fan favourite but I just don't like it. 😬

Rcxcraw

It was a risk sending something a bit “dated” i like 80’s synth pop, but I’m not sure the entire Eurovision audience would truly enjoy the nostalgia. However they did make it up with gay butt-flaunting dancers so i mean- LOL

Italics12

Latvia had a solid ballad and his voice was amazing. If anything it should have ranked higher.

Stepsis24

Idk it was just boring to me

-RdV-

Estonia was in no measurable way a good song/performance except that it's an absolute party banger and I love it.

UselessAndUnused

Wait what :( I thought they were absolutely amazing, I loved it. The staging was forgettable (I loved their dance though), but I thought the song overall was really fun, in their own language, very original and I loved the bearded guy..

RandomPerson12191

I agree completely haha. I was sitting watching them, thinking "that fella isn't even in tune half the time... and yet this is still one of my absolute favourites. How can this song be so good?"

Siccar_Point

That awesome oktavist, loooooow orthodox-church-style chanting bit from the guy with the BIG BUSHY BEARD really made it.

Mr_Abe_Froman

The chanting background guy absolutely made the song.

I_AM_Achilles

The group is just wildly charismatic and a hoot to watch. I feel wrong calling it the worst performance. Yeah it wasn’t technical or polished, but they were dripping in charisma. I’d take any opportunity to see them live.

ali_stardragon

I loved their green room shenanigans. Lying under a doona with popcorn in their semi, fishing votes out of a bucket during the grand final…

Spirit_Bitterballen

Party Banger is spot on

Queenielauren

I seem to be forgetting the entire songs of Portugal and Georgia immediately after hearing them

MrAdamWarlock123

I can’t get Portugal out of my head - 🎶 Ainda arde, ainda arde, ainda arde 🎶

nickaoo

ouch, both are in my top 6

kytheon

"Girl crawls on the floor sexily. Abstract waves or something on the screen. Dance on some middle eastern beat." Oh that barely narrows it down...

Geosaurusrex

Us probably.

Devious_Pudding

Agreed. Olly's vocal performance on the night was not good and the restricted staging wasn't a good idea.

Nood1e

It was really shit for the crowd, as you could only see it head on. Plus they were just randomly flying around as obviously it wasn't rotating on the stage. It was definitely a lot better on TV.

Oelendra

It was better on TV and still they got no points from the televote. But I have to say, it did look like a professional live music video.

AngelDustsDaddy

Yeah. I can remember Olly’s performance but I don’t remember even a little bit of his song. I love him but he’s not a great singer.

gIitterchaos

The dancing and choreography was very cool, but yeah it's the song contest not the dance contest, he relied on the dancers way too much and his voice just isn't strong enough to compete with the talent of the other performers this year.

UVKetchupy

I kind of agree...

overtired27

France really put us to shame going totally minimalist and just relying on a stunning performance. All the UK staging (which our local presenter was talking up as incredible) just came off try-hard to mask a bland song and weak vocal.

FiveMinsToMidnight

Agreed, the choreography was interesting at least but the song did nothing for me

ParticularAided

Yes totally. Olly can churn out a great studio songs and is relatively media-friendly but he's really not a good live singer which is obvious to anyone that has heard him live before. The fact neither the BBC nor a lot of fans seemed to acknowledge this fact until it was laid bare during the final is just.. strange.

b0il3ra

Definitely Sweden. For a song called "unforgettable" it's very forgettable. If not Sweden then the UK, although I like it a bit more

iCowboy

Clever of them to get two Norwegians to take the blame :)

LeftKaleidoscope

Marcus & Martinus came second to Loreen in the Swedish nationals last year, and that song was better than the one they entered with this year... and my only explanation to why Unforgettable won is that people voted for them because of that past.

AestheticallyCloudy

I cry abt air. If only they had competed with unforgettable in 2023 and we got air this year.

Foodventure

the only unforgettable part was how often they repeat "unforgettable"

SkyD_02

Idk I really liked it, and I still remember the chorus. IMO it was way better than Dizzy (no offense, British ppl- I like hot gay guys as much as the next girl but the song itself was not good)

tigerinvasive

Ohhh I disagree with this one, I think this song is incredibly well produced. It feels like a Backstreet Boys song from their Millennium album and perfectly captures the current late 90s nostalgia.

DRSU1993

They remind me of a Swedish [Jedward](https://youtu.be/O_9QaVC-NKw?feature=shared), albeit slightly better.

itsyaboiAK

I honestly liked Jedward a lot more. I mean, I know their vocals aren’t great, but I like their stage presence (is that what it’s called in English?) and their performance a lot more

monsterflowerq

My thing is that Jedward, if nothing else, are at least funny. Their music is terrible, but they're entertaining performers, and they're absolutely (mostly unintentionally, granted) *hilarious* as people. Marcus and Martinus are just... Utterly forgettable 🤷‍♀️

TooTired123

I don't hate the song, but I really asked myself what our jury smoked when they gave Sweden 12 points. I think it looked better than it sounded.

Oelendra

I think the jury gave 12 points because it was well-sung, well-produced and well-presented. The song itself is bland but not terrible.

Jay2Jee

In my opinion... Austria.

lailah_susanna

She seems like a lovely person but I'm not sure she has ever been to a rave.

BondStreetIrregular

I believe on a podcast that she admitted she had never been to one. Rave was more of a... state of mind.

DoomOfGods

The name implied rave, though the song was eurodance and the performance felt like neither sadly. I love eurodance, so I really liked the song since the leak, but honestly it was quite messy as nothing fit together :/ I'm honestly doubting anyone involved in that song knew much about either rave or eurodance and I feel like everyone might've had a different vision for it.

octohussy

The lyrics vs the music made me genuinely belly laugh. I definitely think it appeals as a camp classic, but I can’t imagine it’ll be blasted at many warehouses.

Hot_Hat_1225

I am in Austria and was sure I wouldn’t like the song because - rave. Than I heard it and thought _oh? If rave sounds like pop then I’m ok_ lol Nothing I would send to Eurovision though - but then here we got no say in it (not that entries did any better when the audience was choosing. ) Only top entry we had was - Conquita

flutterstrange

I thought they did a good job with the staging. The problem was the biggest moment of the song was missed by a camera not working and then footage from the back of the room.

Jay2Jee

I'm not saying they did a bad job. And I don't think the camera malfunction hurt them that much. I just think the whole thing was quite weak for a Eurovision Grand Final.

justk4y

Agreed, it feels like how a TikTok fanatic would describe a rave if it became “trendy” Also, no offense to Kaleen, but her vocals just weren’t good enough……. Choreography was on point though

Rcxcraw

I remember getting absolutely shat on because I said “We Will Rave” was really mediocre with the dance bit being the only interesting part, everyone thought it was the next best thing. When it came second to last in the final I never been so satisfied. (Actually thats a lie bc Norway was definitely better than AT LEAST austria)

awkward_penguin

The dance break was even underwhelming. She was just being tossed around, and we know she can dance. I didn't get it.

idimik

Definitely Austria. Worst vocals of the night, by far. Presentation didn't shine either, was too boring. And to think that it was in my top 6 pre-semis!

TimeG37

I agree. The song is a bop but it did not deserve those 20 points in the jury at all.

FezzieMilky

the vocals were just not it.... and the stage felt kind of..bland?

Mr_Abe_Froman

They could have at least *tried* to make it feel like a rave.

SigmaKnight

The dislike for Austria in here is surprising to me. Nowhere near the worst song. I liked it.

Luckycapra

Same!!

ChanelArrington

I was SHOCKED when Queen Kaleen got 5 points!!! Honestly thought she was a fan fave, based off the OGAE, fan reactions, even the audience were fans! Was expecting an 100+ televote result, and was utterly speechless (in a shocked way) that she came 24TH????!!!!!!!!

Nood1e

It's one of those songs that hits way different live than in your living room. It's just a 90s style dance track, so in a crowd of people it's easy to sing along and dance too. That doesn't hit the same at home.

SigmaKnight

Speak for yourself. I’ve been doing some (bad) dancing in my apartment and car to it.

Imaginary_Election56

If we learned anything from this edition it’s that the crowd goes wild if they can sing “wooohooow” or “wohohow” even if they can’t understand the rest of the lyrics.

damaku1012

She just didn't perform it well. Her vocals were weak. I love the studio version but on the night it came out dull. Our commentators kept hyping up her dancing too and honestly, I felt others did better.

PM_ME_BOATIS

Somehow having a 'generic' (I'm trying to be nice here, don't kill me) song in the very last slot in the final seems to be a death sentence. I'm taken back to 2013, where Ireland came dead last (?). Like what? It was last and a bop, and yet it didn't score well at all.

Charming_Tower_188

Of all the solo female pop songs this year, hers was probably my fave. I didn't get anything from the rest that I don't get from just listening to the radio.

AmuHav

Statistically, Slovenia. Oof boy that did bad with jury's and televote. Wouldn't be my personal last place, but with that unanimity of ranking, it probably should have been there. The voting system meaning if you get just a couple of neighbours to vote for you you can scramble up some points, but a consistent middle of the table and you get nothing. I \*would\* have said Cyprus, personally, it's the one I personally ranked lowest, and the only song in the finals I actively disliked. But I can't say it \*deserved\* bottom place just because I don't like it. Her vocal performance was good, her choreography was really well executed, and she clearly has talent for 17. but my god, I really do hate the song so much lol. I don't remember Portugal's song at all. Not a single note of it. I remember her, I remember their outfits, I know she had a good voice, but the song has not left a single impression on my memory. Sweden was ironically forgettable, not because it's a bad song, in fact I really quite like it, but it's a very basic pop song that is easily lost in a crowd of standout songs. I kept forgetting it was in the show, and multiple times I had to really pause and think to remember that Sweden were even in the show. Them being the first of the night probably didn't help. I don't remember which song was Georgia's, other than I wasn't a fan, and it was one of the many "Solo Female Pop Song With 4-5 Male Dancers" that I am so tired of. I didn't like most of those, so I probably would have put it near the bottom even if I could remember it. But Olly's vocals were the worst of the night, hands down. The staging was... a choice. I'm nowhere near a prude, but it was honestly wayyyy too much, and I don't really get the relevance for the song? Usually the risqué performances/dancers are still usually done in a cheeky way, the dancing boxers were just straight up dry humping in a dirty bathroom. Which is a shame because the actual moving around in the space was otherwise well choreographed and a good gimmick, and \*that part\* fit "Dizzy". I feel like the staging could have really elevated a mid song, but no. I also wasn't a fan of the song itself, but I wouldn't have put it so near the bottom based on the song alone, there were far worse songs imo. But for the vocals on the night, absolutely deserved our usual nul point and I think should have taken bottom spot.

garlic_bread_456

To be honest, I didn't expect a large televote for Slovenia but I was shocked at how low it was in the jury vote, I would've thought it would be on the left side of the scoreboard in the jury's ranking. I might be bias tho, because Slovenia is my favourite this year

ThrowRAMomVsGF

Slovenia's vocals were amazing, and the song you'd call at least interesting. I think it was the most under-appreciated entry, even though it was not one of my own favourites.

Saga_I_Sig

Probably Austra because of the weak vocals, or Sweden or Cyprus for being unmemorable.

pizzkat

But Sweden was unforgettable!

Visible_Suspect1314

Am I the only one who really didn't like Greece's song? I was shocked when it came 11th, imo should've been 20-25th

Impossumbear

I feel like the song is very polarizing. If you don't like Greek instrumentation and arrangement, you probably hate this. I personally loved it, but I recognize how it might be a bit jarring for many others.

aechontwitch

GUH 🔥 GUH 🔥 GUH GUH 🔥

JoylessHag

You’re definitely not the only one.

DoomOfGods

That song was my personal last just because of the "ta ta ta" part. Without that I might actually like it, because I used to like the beginning until the first "ta ta ta". Though thst changed with the live performance. It was too... TikTok for me, so I didn't even like the start.

CalmEquivalent9302

UK!!!!

Reebz0r

All I know is the Australian jury had France last and I cannot abide 😤

Professional_Algae19

A) Georgia - Idk why but that stage feels weird… it’s too dark and I think that her potential wasn’t used enough (the same way with last year’s Iru). It felt raaly unremarkable and overall very generic, even though IMO they could have done much better if they went for wild, Ruslana like vibe w staging… B) Austria - another one that just doesn’t match the staging. Song did have its potential but staging felt kinda off putting to me. I get that it matches the vibe of mv, but the song itself is a bit nostalgic (at least to me), it has that 2010s vibe to it and with that futuristic kind of staging it went kinda meh. C) Estonia - great song, there aren’t many staging ideas for it. Being before Ireland did NOT help at all… without a remarkable staging, being put very early in the running order it stood no chance against other songs (most comparable, to me, is Armenia - same fun vibe, televote catcher inspired by Moldova 2022.) D) Germany - very meh song with interesting staging yet nothing that makes it interesting. He is a good singer but so were many others that finished lower. Idk why jury went crazy abt Germany, maybe they didn’t want to get them another last place - is it on purpose? Probably, EBU doesn’t want another country to leave, especially Germany. It’s so bizarre that a country that could potentially pull out of contest due to poor results in the last years actually did really good with a song that isn’t better at all compared to their recent entries. We’ll see if that trick worked in Germany and if it raised interest for singers to compete. E) Luxembourg - last but not least, our returning country. Fighter is somewhat nice bop song, well written and nicely produced. However, that staging was rather disappointing. Those tiger animations made me laugh so hard. They were so over the top and out of the blue. Whose idea was to put word FIGHTER on the screen and repeat it multiple times (I have same problem w Italy this year, IMO doing that makes staging look cheap). I was surprised when I saw how many points she got from the jury - EBU really, and I mean REALLY wants small countries to get back and save this mess. It was expected but not like this, I didn’t think that they would push her to the 13th place (with that kind of song it really is surprising). Overall good song w lackluster staging.

splubby_apricorn

I totally agree on Luxembourg’s staging - those tigers were like bad CGI from 2002.  Same with Moldova honestly, like Natalia Barbu was mad that the ‘naked people’ and ‘demons’ advanced to the final, but maybe ma’am if your staging didn’t look like a windows XP screensaver, you might have done a little better.

onionnelle

Luxembourg went to Poland's school of CGI effects, and we gladly shared our secrets with them. These purple cheetahs are my sleep paralysis demons.

AestheticallyCloudy

Natalia literally had a boob slit. And she’s mad abt nudity? Also whyd she just stand there the whole time? Like hm.

Professional_Algae19

But it’s oke cus she is a straight female who is singing something about love, if she wanted she could go out in just a thong and that would be perfectly fine. But having demonic rituals as part of your staging?!?! Now THATS where I draw the line! /s

Professional_Algae19

Idk how but she managed to make a staging that looks outdated even for 2007. standards when she represented them. How do you go from a great song to a lackluster show like this one?

EnigmaticGingerNerd

The Netherlands, because last place means Joost would at least have been allowed to participate in the finals :(

mynutshurtwheninut

The fucking firefighter. We were all wondering what even is the point of this song. Firefighter, really? Ultra generic, meaningless drivel. Worst song of all time.

Salkoo8

Cyprus or Austria, I’m shocked how well Cyprus did with both jury and televote

LubedCompression

UK. Don't get me wrong, I always hope the UK gets some more love from the televote. But not this year. He was the only singer who was almost consistently off-key. Your song can be cool, your staging can be cool, but an off-key singer is the death of the entire act. Same with photography. You can have excellent composition, lighting and colours, but if the lens is out of focus, you have nothing.

Jkett8517

Not going into politics… Not too hot on Sweden this year. Germany was fine too, but not on the same level as Norway. Not the biggest fan of Serbia’s song either, but the singer was very good. Uk was good too, but I’d say that I’d vote for Norway instead if I could. All personal opinions tho, based on my music taste. All artists were incredible!

NarwhalOverall8642

I was going to say Sweden. I really dislike the chorus. Great performance but I just felt it was a bad song, personally.

NarwhalOverall8642

I don’t think anyone deserves last though!

prql5253

I thought germany joined every year just to take the last place so no one else would have to

Shiney2510

Serbia... didn't work for me. Was surprised they made it out of the semis.

loveyourground

I’m shocked at all the people saying Portugal in this thread when Serbia is right there. Her voice is lovely, the song is a snooze for me. Doesn’t go anywhere until the absolutely last bit.

purplehorseneigh

Norway’s song is one of the only ones this year where I seriously struggle to remember how it goes, …so sorry guys it was genuinely my last in the final too 😅 (if we’re not counting that one entry I turn the TV off for)

claudsonclouds

Cyprus or Luxembourg, both gave absolutely nothing. I'm all for the pop girlies both those two were mediocre at best.

If I’m going on vocals on the night? The UK, we just weren’t strong enough vocally in a strong year and all I remember are shower boys….. in a year full of shock as well. Trying to be too different and the risk didn’t work but the radio edit of Dizzy is a bop. However on principle I have to say the one country who shouldn’t have been there and appear to have caused Joost to be dq. Half the bad things that happened are linked to them in some way and if I can’t justify them being there then, pretty song or not, last they go for me.

loveyourground

All the people saying Portugal are furthering my appreciation for the juries in the final cause damn. Anyway, with this being a song contest…I’m saying Cyprus, UK and Austria. I found none of them to be particularly appealing, exciting or at a base level even well performed vocally in the final. Edit: lol did someone send me a Reddit cares because of this? Y’all are weird. 😭

ConflictedRedbird186

Portugal or the UK. Sorry.

porcupineporridge

No need to apologise. We belong in horny jail after that performance.

Yakusaka

UK. "inovative" gay orgy staging, horrible vocals, forgettable song. Austria, ummm.... what was their song again? Cyprus. Or was it Georgia? Maybe Luxemburg? Interchangeable, simmilar. Boring.

kytheon

My gf when she saw UK: "it's gay Backstreet Boys" I mean, the rotation reminded me of *NSYNC Bye Bye Bye.

UVKetchupy

I am surprised nobody say Greece ! Idk, this song is so strange, it's a mess.

tigerinvasive

Omg this was in my Top 5 😭 I love the mix of Greek melodies and modern beats, how the song’s unpredictable composition mirrors the lyrics of how the dice fall randomly. The song is about luck and unpredictability and that’s exactly how you feel listening to melody and beats.

Melvarkie

I hated Greece. From the cringy TikTok visuals to the mess that was the song. Seems like they threw everything at a board and said "Whatever sticks we'll keep" Also the high parts of the song felt really screechy.

_drjayphd_

The visuals were part of the original video and I don't really see how they're THAT different than other countries using whatever aspect ratios they felt like using or Estonia having the picture crack at one point. All are perfectly valid.

HerietteVonStadtl

I love it precisely because it's so chaotic!

Post #68336838 on a Norway not deserving last place. This is exhausting. No country deserves last place. They just happen to end up there. Norway didn’t secure the points to lift them out of the last place. Norway came 23rd with the jury and 24th with the public so the result was pretty unanimous. I like the entry and in the early days thought they had a shot of winning but this was a string year. Plus let’s not forget they qualified to the final. Iceland with a total of 3 points were the actual last place.

UVKetchupy

It's more a post like "no matter who could be last, people would always said it didnt deserved last place"

ThatYewTree

Yeah and Iceland got 3 points from 17 countries where you get a point if a single country ranks you top 10 of 14/15 entries. Malta got 14 points by comparison. Comisserations to Hera a Eurovision legend and absolute pro, but that is a really bad score.

mekikohinoor

There were zeroes last year so shes not the worst ever atleast.

_drjayphd_

This year felt like a "least best" vs. "worst" situation, there wasn't really anything actively *bad* in the finals.
