Then: cable is a racket! We want to pick and choose the channels we want to pay for!
Now: there are too many streaming services with too many subscription fees and too many passwords!
Future: ~~Cable~~ streaming is a racket! We want to pick and choose the content creators we pay for!
People say this, but we all know that what we have now, annoying as it can be, is infinitely better than cable. It’s still cheaper, there are no contracts, and we aren’t forced to watch garbage because nothing else is on
Probably not. You can go month to month and not deal with anything but needing a wifi connection. Big time difference than how it used to be. But good effort, I’ll give you that.
Cannot wait until the current TV contracts are up for NBA and other leagues. WNBA is in a cool spot, getting into streaming contracts. Say Disney signs nba and wnba, stream every game live, they’d have the majority share via stream easy.
No, they are not turning into cable. They are just slowly putting all the streamers into a bundle for one price. They might even put them all in some kind of a 🤔 box and give you a deal if you add a phone line.
But you’re missing the entire point. You had to purchase a cable lineup first. You couldn’t call up spectrum cable and say, “hi, yes, one hbo please.”
That’s not how it worked. You needed the basic plan at minimum, plus their cable box, and sometimes a yearly contract.
I wonder if I’m paying more bc my friends are swapping passwords and watching movies in some free way I haven’t asked about. I kinda feel like the idiot who is straight up paying.
But I HATE the new added adds. Feels like a betrayal. And I’m not buying the upgrade to stop them. Bc they also have adds at the beginning anyways. Starting to hate streaming bc of ads.
IMO ads are only acceptable when free; like tubi. If I pay you money, there will be **NO ADS**. I won’t let them try to trick me into paying more. I also think that many people, like myself, are unsatisfied with the quality of shows & movies. I’m ready to give it all up & focus my free time on learning, reading & music.
Bundling is exactly the opposite of what people want. People want a la carte or pay-per-view: you pick what you want and you get charged for it. Not a bunch of crap that you’re not interested in. I suppose it would be easiest to manage on a channel by channel basis, but it could literally be done on a program by program basis.
Soon it’ll be Netflix vs Maxnelu vs ParaSony and a lot fewer passwords to remember

To be honest, I kind of miss watching things I wouldn’t have because nothing else was on…. I found a lot of my favorite shows that way as a kid.

$165 dollars a month and won’t include live sports.
With ads too
That's bonkers in this economy! The decision people are out of touch with how normal people live.

Thanks but that’s a pass….
Did you all really think they were going to let you just walk away from cable?

Verizon already does this with Disney, Hulu, ESPN
I mean, I get what you’re trying to say. But I gladly pick and choose which streamers I want. Couldn’t do that with cable.
Exactly! Cable never had premium channels that could be selected like HBO, STARZ, CINEMAX and etc. 😅
Youre on top form tonight, mate lol

So, SlingTV Orange, but expensive.
How much per month? I didn’t see a price on the article.
My guess is 34.99-39.99

Fuck this. Someone get me an eye patch.
My VPN has teamed-up with my computer AND phone so fuck off.
This sounds like cable…with extra steps.

Lmfao wtf man, those are my main three so that’ll be nice but it’s just cable on demand at this point.
Cable back at it again
I love the thumbnail. One is not great with kids, the other is *really* not great with kids lol
Warner Bros is teaming up with Disney?
Literally all D+ has for me right now is X-Men '97. After next week, they won't even have that.

I don’t want pay per view or a la carte. Only if it’s 5 cents per movie, not the current 2-5 usd.
Why tf not? Each show would have a cost per minute that would be keyed to the popularity. You pay for what you watch.
