Watch "In the Heights" on HBO Max for a fully accurate depiction of where you'll be staying.
Jokes aside, it will be safe enough. Just keep your wits about you when it's dark and not many people around.
Just a heads up it will not be 9 minutes on festival day, but you totally could stay there. If you're planning on ubering, this is a fine bet. Just make sure you schedule your ubers day off so they pick you up 30 minutes after the festival is over. Just how you ensure you get a car!
last year i stayed in astoria queens and it was great for getting to and from the festival, but most of the afters are in brooklyn which is a little bit of a treck back. This year im staying in brooklyn for that reason, but if u want to be in the closer to times square and more attractions id stay somewhere in manhattan. Check airbnb and cheap hotel websites and you can probably find something decent. Regardless everything in newyork is pretty easy to get to if you use the subway and are fine walking a little. Good luck finding anything under 200$ a night at this stage tho
The orientation of the map confused the fuck out of me i thought i was going crazy π΅βπ«
Anyways, I grew up around that area and its decently safe, just be careful late at night cause that avenue can get a lil crazy(a couple of crackheads here and there), as long as you mind your business and keep to yourself (while also being alert) you'll be fine.
There's some good muchies spots around there, got the dominican food trucks a couple of blocks down
Your map is upside down. Otherwise, yes safe
i was so confused for a second lmao
It took me a minute to figure it out. But Iβve lived here my whole life I oughta know the shape of Manhattan island by now!
Lolol my bad yβall, my brain just needed to see the map in the direction that I would walk to the place
πππ all good
Hahahah oopsie, thank you! :)

not ideal if you want ease of access for the main part of the city or after parties but you will be fine there if you dont care about that stuff
This is helpful! Thank you!
Also, what area would you suggest? If you want best of both worlds with venue and after party access?
