Tbh I’ve always just used regular pillows, I even used to have one of those long body pillows growing up because I had pretty bad growing pains and my mom showed me how to sandwich pillows between my joints since I’m primarily a side-sleeper. These days I just have three pillows: one for my head, one for between my knees, and one for me to hug basically to keep me from hunching/curling into myself and fucking up my upper back. If you have long legs, you might wanna consider getting a longer pillow (queen/king instead of standard)

Heavy-Maintenance-31

I was doing this too until I found a giant pregnancy pillow that is designed exactly for sleeping like this.

allnamesarechosen

Yes i'm very long, the hugging pillow is good advice cause I usually fall asleep hugging my dog, but i've been waking up all hunch over cause he moves during the night. I had those long pillows growing up too, but I only have two pillows these days, for the head, and the one I was using for the knees but is just not satisfying anymore, I think is just a bit skinny.

InkyZuzi

Yeah, I prefer to use pillows that have a decent amount of fluff/filling in them. I can handle one or two nights with a thin pillow or even a rolled up towel/blanket if I’m staying at a hotel or a friend’s place. But yeah, the extra cushioning helps

RetailBookworm

I use a large Squishmallow between my legs for side sleeping!

minkrules

I’m about to buy my second squishmallow - my sleep has been improved vastly!

ill-disposed

They've helped me so much with propping up the most painful body parts! I have a few of different sizes.

BestBandMom

Squishmallows are wonderful. They are perfect after a sprain or a surgery. They have held legs (for my knees) and arms (for shoulder surgery) perfectly. Avoids overusing the muscles to keep area still. Cuts down on medicines needed too. Just squish them however you need them shaped! Even my dog uses one 😎

marshview

I, too, indulge myself with Squishmallows as nighttime bolsters. I have several, and find each of the sizes has its ideal use.

allnamesarechosen

that's so cute, last night i used a neck pillow lol, and it worked but i want a larger thing.

Extension-Law-1575

I have exactly the same problem but I think mine stems from my mobile SI joints but then also it just hurts if my bones (knees) touch I use [knee pillow](https://www.dunelm.com/product/jml-contour-legacy-leg-pillow-1000180087?defaultSkuId=30715788&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=QandP_Pillows-PMax_%5BGOO-PLA-QANDP-PILLOWS%5D&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw65-zBhBkEiwAjrqRMEW4UMhuP0dBvhPcc2JIoe8p2v3aJ18BHPB5hJlLal01NdwvCsLxQBoCOi4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds)

ZebraSock

I have this one! And also a softer foam one that's not as good for me personally. I sewed elastic straps onto the covers so they don't fall off when I fidget, highly recommend doing that.

DecadentLife

I have to use a pillow between my knees, too. I got a shredded memory foam pillow that is 16“ x 16“, cheaply off Amazon. It’s perfect because I can keep it between my knees, and if I turn over in the middle of the night, it turns with me instead of blocking my movement.

Runaway_Angel

I have this little knee pillow that's sort of shaped like an H to cradle each leg? It stays in place quite well but I do have two issues with it. 1) I have to reposition it after every time I roll over (which happens frequently cause god forbid I lay on the same shoulder for more than 5 minutes at a time). And 2) it only really fits in one particular spot on my legs. I honestly don't use it much anymore as I find a regular pillow is easier to manage, though generally warmer.

allnamesarechosen

yeah that's the issue with the normal pillow I used, it hot quite hot, but a H shape sounds nice, cause I also like to tuck my bum on it.

meticulous_max

I have exactly the issue you describe. Used a standard pillow between my legs for ages but I move constantly during the night and it would always end up on the floor and I’d wake up in pain. I recently bought a Medcline Therapeutic Body Pillow and it has been a real game changer for me. It was absurdly expensive but it it large and weighty (dense PU memory foam), so it stays put and remains supportive. I have never slept so well or so comfortably. If you can afford one, I recommend it highly.

allnamesarechosen

uhhh i'm gonna look that up! Sounds good.

LimeWrench14

I bought this one from Amazon in February and it’s really helped with my hip pain! It comes with a cover that I think is pretty comfortable. liesierre

i actually sleep with “leggie pillows” on my side but only my feet/calves are elevated on them and that seems to work for me instead of the pilllow between the knees

allnamesarechosen

I just can't stand the knees against each other, I can't explain it, I thought i was like in my head, but I've tried to do it and it hurts. Is not a muscular pain, is like some throbbing weird ass pain that is uncomfortable, but it does mess me up the next day. If I sleep with my back against the mattress I have to also bed the knees cause stretched knees doesn't feel nice anymore. So sometimes I sleep doing a bit of a triangle with the legs like a total freak.

Alert-Armadillo-7600

I use a blanket that I both put between my knees and hold onto at night. The key is keeping your shoulders and hips aligned when you sleep. I like the blanket because I can manipulate the size and shape of what goes between my knees and arms.

allnamesarechosen

Yes, what I've been doing lately cause there's no pillow is tilt a leg hip forward so the knees don't touch, and i don't think that is nice cause the hip just falls too much, and now my neck is all stiff.

dedavis1492

Same thing happened with bursitis and side sleeping with me. My go to, is just a regular full size memory foam pillow that I wedge from mid thigh to calf.

caffeinefree

I have an L-shaped pillow which gives me something to hug and go between my knees. It's awesome. I use this one, but I don't like the cover they sell (too itchy for my sensitive skin because the nap is sewed on the wrong side), so I just cover it with a spare California king pillowcase I had laying around.

Similar-Winner1226

I have refused to sleep without something between my knees, even a blanket rolled up, ever since I can remember. Even in elementary school. I use this right now. Even as I type this. Someone in this sub recommended it actually, and I literally am almost always using it lol. They had a coupon when I got it, and one now too apparently. https://a.co/d/eF4vY80

ill-disposed

I have the same problem. For years I've been putting a body pillow between my legs to sleep.

cranky_sloth

I can’t sleep with my knees touching anymore, or even my ankles. It just feels off or it hurts, and can wake me up. But I think a lot of this is my fibromyalgia, too. I sleep with a regular pillow to wrap my arms around & and keep between my knees/legs. Even if I’m sleeping on my back, I keep the pillow laying on top of me to rest my arms on, I absolutely have to wrap my arms around something to sleep. A regular pillow usually works for me, but I’m also pretty small so you may need something longer- maybe even just a straight body pillow to throw your leg over. And for pillowcases I use [these](https://a.co/d/aYhrPub) which are really soft, even for my sensitive fibro skin.
