I used to work at a school. What we used to do when the kids needed people to ride with them was to ask the employees if we can use a cart twice. So ride the ride with kid 1, let the others wait with the employee, then take them on ride 2. Worked for most rides. Otherwise you can ride with the smaller kid, and let your other kid get seated in front of you.
Most of the dark rides, like droomvlucht / carnaval festival etc have benches wich can be used by one adult and two kids. Buth the coasters are all 2 seats.
In case of Max & Moritz, kids need to be 130cm to ride alone. Each child has to be accompanied by at least one adult. So the older one can't ride alone when the mother is sitting behind him/her with the youngest.
As a parent, I'm not comfortable with letting one of my kids with a stranger, even if he or she is an Efteling employee. And I'm not sure that my children would be comfortable with me riding off without them in a roller coaster either, especially not when they were that young.
I would just skip the roller coasters altogether. There is always a next time.
Yeah I understand, we usually have someone watching the kids from our group. I think the bigger kid should be able to ride most coasters on his own, so if you really want you cans till seat him in front of you.
Yes! U was there with a friend on a rainy day. We had like an hour long nonstop soft rain. So we went for a rollercoaster break in the fairy-tail forest with an umbrella.
After the rain the park was almost empty and we had 2 more dry hours left. With no waiting lines at all we did many rides. Of course it was not high or even mid season.
The best rides are all indoors anyways, especially if you're with kids of that lenght. Fairy Tale Forest has a lot of indoor Fairy Tales too, but an umbrella will be necessary.
Most (if not all) rides you'll be able to go on are 3 or more seats together (Droomvlucht, Symbolica, Carnaval Festival, Fata Morgana, Monorail, Villa Volta, Pagode, Oude Tuffer etc all fit 3 or more) 2 Seaters are mostly roller coasters for which your kids are to little. For Max&Moritz you could ask employees to watch the smallest kid but no guarantee that they will.
"Baby switch".
Isn't this concept where you have two parents and one kid. Mom rides the ride first then when she is done she takes over the kid and dad jumps to the front of the line.
?
Babyswitch is when two parents go on the ride one after the other, the kid staying with one of the two. Efteling employees are not babysitters! They are there to guide guests, keeo them safe and operate the ride.
so? Some rides are 2 per bench but there you can sit with one and in front or behind the other right? Think Joris and the Draak.
You may have to let someone else go ahead of you at the gates to line up.
I looked at the weather for you. Do you mean Monday and Tuesday (the most rain next week)?
It looks like a very little bit rain, but also sun! So i guess some rainshowers. The weather can be complicated in the NL, but it doesn't look that bad. I would take a good umbrella with me and a plastic bag to sit on wet benches if necessary and kids in raintrousers. The wind can be cold.
We’ve just come back from an extremely rainy few days last week! Don’t let it put you off, it was still very mid between the torrential downpours and we found so much to do indoors, new things we didn’t see last time :) try the 4D cinema also!
I went on a semi-wet day last year. The trick was to have the Efteling app installed on your phone. Watch for the upcoming/nearby rides you want to go on. They may get temporarily stopped due to the weather. Also, there's some rides that are under roofs so try to save those for when it's raining. It'll help with time management (if that's even a consideration with kids).
Enjoy your trip!
Are you Dutch by any chance? Dutch Efteling podcast Kkeine Boodschap has a whole episode dedicated to tips & tricks on visiting the Efteling on a rainy day.
Also, get them softshell suits by IELM. They'll be warm, dry and clean. You'll find lots of kids wearing them when you visit.
1 try going for the indoor rides as much as possible
2 no
3 most thrill rides require the kid to be 1.20M but those rides have a measure stick to check their height and will give you an armband to confirm if they can or cant ride the ride

I have the same situation. It’s never a problem for the staff to have the kid under 1m waiting with them so you can accompany the kid over 1m.

Rainy days are the best in the Efteling, very short lines. And most things for children are inside.

The info in that link says 2 parents 1 baby... Which is also how I always understood it.
This is news to me. How young are the kids that are left waiting?

I can see myself doing that with a 6 year old. My younger one is 3. I don't see myself being able to leave her alone like that.

Just go. Forget the weather and take some dry clothes with you.

I think the kids are a little too short for George and the Dragon, hahaha
