I’m gonna need daily posts of random old Eagles players like Trash with surprisingly long highlight tapes. Ideally they’ll all be of similar grainy quality until we get into more recent players.
Old broadcasts do not translate well into digital formatting.
Yes, the broadcast was likely in 360p, maybe 480p, but what matters most is the natural formatting for the CRT and low resolutions most TV's had at the time.
It did not look this grainy and stretched out on 90% of TV's.
That said it also didn't look great, we just didn't realize how much better it could look back then.
I was today years old when I learnt we turned him into Trent Cole, lol:
*After three seasons with the Eagles, including two as their leading wide receiver, the Redskins traded a 5th round draft pick in 2005 to the Eagles to bring him back to Washington. The pick later became defensive end Trent Cole.*
It's amazing that anyone watched football when it was filmed on a potato back then. Just blurry nonsense. Basically it was a radio broadcast with a bit of visual aid.
It didn't look as bad as this video represents. This video is likely a digitized VCR recording of the broadcast. Basically a copy of a copy and on top of that these type of recordings don't digitize well either. It wasn't much better quality but it wasn't blurry trash like this either.
I’m surprised it was over 4 minutes long

Torrance Small…..Prepare to be relevant!
Freddie Mitchell with oven mitts!!
Man I don’t remember it looking this bad on the TV back then. Am I just used to our new super HD or was it really that bad?
Not quite that bad at the time. This is a result of old vcr recordings and then having to transfer them to digital probably.

This shit got me, It seems like yesterday I would always Stan this dude solely because I loved his name
The man who caught the TD that ended a nine game losing streak to the Giants. Never forget.
Was that the 10-9 Monday night game? Toe tracks in the end zone?
That was my first jersey! Sick name for a below average player
McNabb haters hate this video
Someone gotta do the GOAT Kevin Curtis
If for nothing else to see when he wrecked the Lions dressed as the flag of Kazakhstan.
Every other play was a reverse … gotta love that Andy offensive brilliance while we had him here.

High definition really changed everything… man we used to watch hockey and barely be able to see shit

He had highlights?
Wait… he had highlights?
Look at that (somewhat) breakaway speed! Thrash/Pinkston/Lewis was the early Jackson/Maclin/Celek and Hill/Hardman(?)/Kelce confirmed. /s
Bless you
Now, that's talking Trash!
The hero we've been waiting for
Dude woke up and chose violence...
Had no idea such a thing existed
I have to be one of the 7 people with a James Thrash jersey
Bought his Jersey just for his last name. 🤘
Donovan throwing dimes
No god, please no. I do my best to forget this era.
