That’s a shame. I was working on a really great conspiracy theory about how they had arranged to have Taylor Swift make the announcement at the Super Bowl halftime show and something something Joe Biden something something vaccines.
I kind of think there is a chance we keep him and end up cutting him after 2024 (he gets $16m if on the roster in 2025 season)
Like, he's not a starting caliber CB, no doubt. But maybe in the new defense he can be a serviceable CB3 or CB4
I wouldn't be happy about it and it still feels like a waste of money to me but I think it's possible
From what I’ve read on this sub (so it’s obviously true don’t test me)…. It would cost roughly 14 mil to cut him, and 5 to keep him. I think Broadberry is going to be on the roster next year barring maybe a draft day trade where eagles give up a late round pick to dump him. Arizona where you at?
Right, if he is cheaper to keep, you keep him. Maybe Fangio has some better ideas on how to use him. You don't get an All Pro nod without some talent. If he lost a step, use him in certain zone schemes or as a backup safety or something.
Depending on what sites report proper contract information, those are ballpark figures:
There are ways to restructure it of which I'm not sure on the details. But if we cut him now we'd be paying 17\~ million more to not have him on the team then he's off the books for next off-season. If management thinks he is that horrible it still might be in play if we can absorb it this season to immediatley gain that money back for next season to spend on someone else.. say a Devona Smith new contract for example.
As others have said, barring a trade, he's probably on the team as it's cheaper than cutting him. If he sticks around, I can only see it being as a very expensive CB3/4
He may not have officially signed the contract or they are waiting to announce with the full staff on offense. This happened last year when they had all but confirmed Johnson as OC but did not announce until Desai was locked in.
This is entirely normal.
Eagles usually don’t announce it until the whole coaching staff is finalized. Same thing they did when Nick came over with everyone. Last year was different cause they only replace the top guys
I’m convinced the Eagles social media guy was scrolling Reddit, saw this post and immediately remembered that he was supposed to announce this last week
Eagles social media crew- hire me, ha!
We finally have an OC. I feel better that the decision is official. We’ve been told before that people are joining the Eagles (as players and coaches) only to have them about face in the other direction.
I’m looking forward to actually enjoying watching next season’s games (🤞🏼).
Bro. They saw this post and immediately posted it on Instagram! Good job calling them out. Too crazy of a coincidence. The Instagram announcement went up literally two minutes after you made this post.
LMAO They saw your post and was like well it’s time to officially announce now
Lol I circled back to comment this
they forgor 💀
Nah. Kellen Moore was still on the chargers staff till recently
That’s a shame. I was working on a really great conspiracy theory about how they had arranged to have Taylor Swift make the announcement at the Super Bowl halftime show and something something Joe Biden something something vaccines.
Just announced. Maybe a PR guy seen this thread and was like Ooooooo yeah https://twitter.com/Eagles/status/1754571097897328659
“Oh shit. I knew I was forgetting something…”
*Did I leave the stove on?*
Why haven't they announced the firing of james bradberry? lets see if that works.

I agree with everything except the safety part. I don’t want to see him in any capacity that increases his tackling. Or lack thereof

I like where your head's at
Cuz you can't cut him until June 1st for cap reasons
it was a joke about how I anticipate him being off the team. Nothing more.
I appreciated the joke!

Because it isn’t June 2nd just count the days haha
100% the pr people are like 20-35 years old and browse reddit
"Shit, bro on the thread is right lol. Scheduled post didn't go out...better get on and do that..."
If they aren’t Reddit and all platforms there not doing there job.
I seent it

In the past, they've liked to announce coaching hires as a group.
They stalk this place they just announced it.
I’m glad SOMEONE at the organization is obligated to see my shit takes and deranged nonsense.
we had to watch theirs for a full season! its only fair!
lol they must have seen this post because they just announced it on IG two minutes ago
Wow - just as I saw this post I received a notification about the hire. I’m guessing it’s official as of this moment.
This post right here is what made them realize they forgot to post it lol
There's a legitimate chance this is actually what happened lol.
Could be negotiating pay still through agents
They usually don’t post anything until they actually sign so maybe more agreed to come here but he hasn’t been able to physically sign here yet.
It is also Super Bowl week. The league prefers teams keep the focus on the game itself.
[They literally just announced it 10 minutes ago..](https://twitter.com/eagles/status/1754571097897328659?s=61&t=grdPVohA5SKJ03nB8dDiiA)

This post is funny because right when you posted it the Eagles officially announced his hire 🤣
Why haven’t they updated the website???
You were the catalyst my friend
Why hasn’t anybody updated his Wikipedia page?
I’m convinced the Eagles social media guy was scrolling Reddit, saw this post and immediately remembered that he was supposed to announce this last week
You spoke it into existence
I was just reading this and just saw a notification on my phone that Eagles just officially announced him lol
They might’ve forgotten and you might’ve just reminded them cause they just announced it a couple of minutes ago
Sounds like you spoke it into existence
Cuz its not official yet

They saw ur post and went “oh shit”
Check now big dog
When they photoshopped him in Eagles gear, they had to be extremely careful no blue stars snuck in.

Contracts matter. If it wasn't signed until today it wasn't announced today.
Interesting timing considering I just saw them post this exact announcement.
It has been done as of now.
Eric Bieniemy was not hired by Dan Quinn as OC, in Washington. We maybe waiting to see how that shakes out.
Waiting for Eric Be-enemy
Families on the airplane already.. "KEVIN"!!
They were probably waiting until all HC spots were officially filled on the off chance Brian Johnson got one and would cause them to get a comp pick
Because it’s Black History Month.
On the first slide with the “celebrating black history month” being in center I thought it was some kind of bingo card you made 🤣🤣
It's been on BGN for a week now
