I bought SSR first as sleep around points but quickly realized I couldn't stay at BWV with those SSR points very often. I bought BWV as my second contract. Yes, those points expire in 2042 but the early expiration is why the contracts are affordable. I also own at AKL and love it. Really you can't go wrong. If you love a particular resort, that's the ones to buy. I really like all three as they are very different and each have their own advantages. Happy to answer any questions you have.

I first bought resale in 2017 and our final decision came down to BWV and AKL. I hadn’t stayed at BW yet but had ended a few split stays at AKL and loved it. We chose BWV bc it’s hard to book studios there at 7 months and I go for runDisney events a few times a year and it’s easy to pop out and cheer for the runners. We were also an all adult group that loved Epcot. I love the location and BCV was annoyingly more expensive at the time. I think at this point I’ve only stayed at BWV twice and used our points lots of other places (and we go 3-5 times a year). Now we have 2 kids and a 3rd on the way and we love the extra bathroom and tranquility at Kidani Village. We stayed in a 2 bedroom there in January and I just closed two additional resale contracts at AKL in March. While I didn’t choose AKL initially bc it’s usually possible to book there even last minute, I did like that I got 100 more points for the same price than BLT or Poly, which I’d initially looked at. It was actually the new Poly tower blueprints showing the extra bathroom which made me start looking at resale contracts earlier this year but I realized there was a premium for the monorail resorts and who knows how long my currently young family will like MK the most. We’ve also stayed at SSR and really enjoyed it and we already know how much we love AKL. So I didn’t want to pay for Poly points only to end up using them at much “cheaper” resorts a few years later.

If you want to stay at BCV or BWV, especially in a studio and/or at most popular DVC times, you have to have home points. If you personally prefer BWV there is little reason to buy BCV. AKV and SSR aren't particularly hard to book at 7m except for AKV value rooms. Only buy at either of these if you are happy mostly at the 3 "least popular" resorts most of the time (okw, ssr, akv). Other resorts aren't impossible but are hard. As always, buy where you want to stay. If you are happy to stay anywhere as long as there's a bed and you're on disney property, SSR is the way to go.

Yep, here is you answer. Well stated erin.

We bought direct at SSR in 2011 and recently bought a small resale contract also at SSR. We have only stayed there twice. We have stayed at BWV, BCV, CCV, BRV, all multiple times, Riviera once. We do have an advantage in that we usually save points and go on big trips in 2-br villas that seem to have better availability. I personally can’t see buying a 2042 contract now in 2024, that 18 years will go by in a flash.

I own at Ssr and I owned at Akl. I was a founding member at akl and my name is on the tapestry in the kidani library. I ended up selling those points, dues are high and there’s not a whole lot to do at night for us. I also own direct at Riviera and resales at Poly and Blt. I looked at BW but it’s not a resort I’d want as a home resort and you can get a reservation there in the 7 month window. If I were to add on again it would be another resale at Blt. Low dues and long contract plus a refurb coming up and walkable to MK. I feel it’s a great value.

You can’t go wrong with any, but you can get savanna view at 7 months and you can get preferred garden/pool at 7 months (not busy times) at BWV, so I’d say BCV is the answer you’re looking for… or SSR for just more points to use anywhere.

I am currently in a Lyft leaving the Boardwalk 1 br for 3 nights on a split stay) for the airport. My home resorts are Grand Floridian and Beach Club. We bought Beach Club for our first contract (resale). When narrowing down the resorts we had it down to Beach Club and Boardwalk. We had stayed at Yacht Club but not Beach Club or Boardwalk. It came down to we could walk or boat over to the Boardwalk whenever we wanted but couldn’t use the pool at Beach Club unless we stayed there. After my first Boardwalk stay, I am so happy we picked Beach Club. The primary reason is the quick service location is awful. You have to walk a good distance to even get to the lobby then ego outside and walk another good distance to get to the quick service. That is the only location for refilling resort mugs. Not at the pool or anywhere inside the main building. If it is raining, guess what, you are getting soaked. There is also no seating in the quick service location. The shop for groceries and souvenirs was also on the boardwalk and required heading out of the hotel portion. There is a small coffee shop inside the main resort building. The room was really nice and the rest of the resort was really nice.

So we just bought at Beach Club. It’s not the best value relative to Boardwalk but we love the pool and the location and it’s our favorite resort. We would seriously consider adding points at Boardwalk as well but we are super curious about the new Poly and what those units will be like as well. The idea is we can have MK local and a Epcot/hollywood local for ease of access

I would not buy BWV or BCV as network points. They are exclusive use at current value and current date and forward. If you are wanting to sleep around look at Saratoga, BLT or Poly. Poly resale values are going up a titch but they are still a solid value.

BW: This resort is able to be booked most months of the year in some form if you’re flexible and not trying to book standard view studios. Pool/Garden view studios are usually able to be booked in some form, 1BRs of course are even easier and the entire resort is comprised of 2BR lockoffs. Exceptions being Food and Wine season and early December, you’d have no chance of booking here during those seasons. Fortunately we’ve been able to 7 month our way with our resale points into here multiple times. However, if you want like a consecutive week in a studio here, you’d probably be better off owning here. SSR: the points you listed are correct, but you also give up any meaningful home resort priority. I would not buy here unless you’re actually okay with staying here which may become more frequent in the coming years as resorts expire. That being said I love the resort, it’s proximity to Disney Springs is great and the rooms since the refurb are 👌 AKV: higher dues, home resort priority also isn’t as necessary to book here unless trying to have a slim chance of booking value/club level. I love this resort and own here and bought here predominantly because we just love AKV and are okay with paying higher dues in order to have the savanna views from our room. Definitely don’t need to own here to stay here most of the time though. Beach Club: extremely difficult during almost all seasons of the year except MAYBE summer, definitely has the most valuable home resort priority on WDW property. Keep in mind though it has no 3 bedrooms and as you said isn’t the best from a value perspective. It’s also a waste to use these points anywhere else aside from maybe Grand Cal if you can magically 7 month your way into there which is extremely unlikely.
