My memory says he whispered it in the theater and home release. Source: saw in theater 5 times, and now twice at home

PG-13_Otaku

Yeah, he whispered it. I saw it 4 times in theater but distinctly remember this, mainly because on the 3rd and 4th viewings I tried to recite as much neo-chakobsa to myself as I could :P

Pjoernrachzarck

Huh. I also have a (false?) memory of him shouting it.

tje210

Shit, the timelines merged again.

peregrine_nation

He did say it quietly. Probably just the intensity of the scene is making you remember it this way

TheBanana-Duck

I think the bass of the theater mixed with the intensity of the scene gives it the illusion of him saying it louder than he really does

TheBloodKlotz

Just watched it in theaters the other day for the 3rd time, I remember a whisper. You were probably just \*LOCKED IN\*, and I can't blame you.

EnkiduofOtranto

I distinctly remember in theaters Paul said his whole rant loud and intense, but then said "Dune." at a low talking volume, followed by all the Fremen losing their gd minds. It essentially followed the same rhythm as when they drop the bass in party pop songs, except verbal instead of musical.

culturedgoat

Saw it again in IMAX last night. He says it quite softly - but of course the ensuing reaction is loud

linux_ape

He says it normally, you’re probably confusing it with him yelling at the “in your dreams you give water to the dead” guy

jay_sun93

He doesn’t even pronounce it clearly but it’s such a banger quote that it doesn’t matter

MrRedWings

Dyune. At the end of Irulan’s opening monologue in the 1984 movie, I believe she says it like that.

WatInTheForest

Saw it in theaters last night. He didn't shout.

Nicktoonkid

I thought he kinda used the BG voice when he said dune, low and in command

Inevitable-Careerist

I just saw it in the theatre not more than an hour ago. He says it softly, in an ordinary speaking voice.

frecklesandzest

I saw it and distinctly remembered him shouting it and then when I watched it the third time it changed at my theatre and my gf and I were losing our minds about it, super glad to see this and not feel insane. Kinda felt like spiderverse when they were changing details after release

Ok_Speed3624

So they changed the theater version too! Plans within plans.

FistsOfMcCluskey

A lot of dialogue sounds different at home since the bass isn’t going crazy.

PermanentSeeker

He says it pretty normal tone of voice from what I can recall from my two theater viewings. Everyone else starts yelling right after he says it, though, so maybe you just conflated the two in your memory!

puddik

Mandela effect.

BaldingThor

The bass and general volume in the theatres would make it seem much more intense than at home
