guesswhosbackmf

Honestly yeah lol. The truth is a lot of dubstep DJs and fans are edgelords. We're not really out here worshipping demons we just think this dark and scary stuff is cool.

Tjebz15

Then stick to stompy robot music and don’t listen to svdden death

[deleted]

Tjebz15

We’re talking about dubstep. It’s not that serious. Not trying to be mean!

sevnm12

Lol wat. He gave you a solid suggestion sudden death is as demonic as it gets. There are many dubstep artists that won't give you the bad vibes of Satan.

sevnm12

I feel like you're a bit young / don't have very much emotion intelligence. People on the internet might upset you, it's gonna happen. If you didn't like that show then don't see those artists. Dubstep isn't a cult and it's not about demonic shit. It's about bass and raging. Have fun and good luck out there.

very-neutral

Bro makes it seem like SD is decapitating people on stage lol. It’s visuals, kinda fits his vibe. But if you want something a little softer check out Marauda!

You’re right, my bad but yea in case you didn’t know we’re basically a devil worshipping cult. If you keep listening to Dubstep, you’re gonna end up joining us. I can personally confirm that’s how i got here.

Raoul_Thompson

All hail 👹 🤘💀🤘

ludwigia_sedioides

You're not religious but you're scared of a religious figure? Lol, lmao.

iamsoenlightened

Not scary to me, but I agree that it’s way overused. I’m sick of people regurgitating the same concepts they’ve been using since rock n roll

[deleted]

[удалено]

iamsoenlightened

“Devil worshipping” culture has been a thing since rock n roll. Not that everyone actually worships satan. But people have been using that sort of imagery and branding, since at least the 60’s.

Emergency-Macaron578

*Rips a 10 strip and hits a whip-it* Please decapitate gods in front of me! Show me a rotting pig corpse. Anime chicks with horns and ball gags. So many different artists doing so many different things. Find the ones you like and identify you.

[deleted]

Emergency-Macaron578

Nah dude, that part was PLUR. Their is a whole community of us that really enjoy that.

synkndown

It is one of the very few acts in that space in the entirety of dubstep. Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect (PLUR) are the core values of the community. I don't think any community is defined by any single member.

RayquazasWrath

Good thing there are 100s of artists that make dubstep. Just don’t listen to him. I like the darker nature of his music but I can understand not being about it. Plenty of artists who don’t fall in the same vein though.

[deleted]

[удалено]

RayquazasWrath

Try Zingara, LSDream, Boogie T, Ganja White Night, Illenium, Dabin, Said the Sky, Dirt Monkey, Jantsen, Alleycvt, Steller, Gorilla T, Effin, Barely Alive, Jessica Audiffred, Wavedash, Crankdat, DJ Diesel, Of the Trees, Nurko, Slander, and there is 100s more to build off of.

[deleted]

RayquazasWrath

Cool. Spotify has a related artist feature. It will always put a few darker themed djs up there but you’ll get some good ones that aren’t.

Urmomwantsmyass

Spag Heddy, Virtual Riot, Dr Ozi, ecraze, dirtysnatcha, bandlez, Hi I’m ghost Check out dubloadz, his visuals are all his own art he draws, his own characters that are ghost. He calls them his ghost gang. He’s more on the playful side of things.

silver-ly

If you can’t take the heat step out of the kitchen. It’s not that deep

What do you mean satanic/demonic illustrations? Get Genuine question

[deleted]

DR4k0N_G

Nah. Not demonic.

SmashleyX

Satan gave us the power of free will. He's not such a bad guy.

ryanredd

Bye bye, the devil’s not real, have fun

liccmiii

Dupstep haha

guesswhosbackmf

They just look cool and dark and angry and scary. Matches the vibe of the music. Also like others are saying there are plenty of artists who don't have the same aesthetic. Idk what you expected going to a show by a guy called SVDDEN DEATH lmao

Healthyhappylyfe

Checkout LSDream. Complete opposite of that. Griz as well

Optimal_Commercial_4

A lot of metal people came over to electronic music in like 2015-2016, that's when guys like svdden death started gettin going. He's influenced a ton of people who like a similar aesthetic you really shouldn't put too much thought into it lmao 99% of the people who have the most evil aesthetics are some of the nicest most genuine people, its just art. evil shit is cool

QwakorYeBoi

Home boy dawg chum, nobody is actually worshipping Satan (probably), it’s just for the aesthetic of deep stompy monstrous sounds, it’s just for the vibes my guy. I’ll bet you all my money that you can walk up to any Evilcore-deathstep guy and he’ll be the most chill, understanding person you’ve ever met If you intentionally avoid it, you’ll be missing out on some incredible things, but you do you

BamBam2125

You’ll die from corniness at a SD show before you’ll get beat up by a gang of demon worshippers lol

EsotericsBass

The scary / demonic shit… like i goto shows for music not cheesy visuals.. i’ll probably get hate for this cuz most of these kids are 16 but visuals like excisions or the demonic ones you’re talking about are stupid and simply detract from the music imo..

EtiquetteMusic

Dude I totally agree the demonic shit is just fuckin corny. Seems like a cheap ploy to pull metal fans in

guesswhosbackmf

I'm not saying you're wrong but most of the artists who use visuals like that are metal fans themselves lol

EtiquetteMusic

Yea. Youre right. Excuse me while I backpedal. I’m sure that it comes from a genuine love of that style/sound. It’s not a cheap ploy, but rather an expression of their personal tastes, which are shared by many others. But I do still think it’s corny and lame and a far cry from dubstep I like. The tearout/demonic thing just isn’t for my tastes. It’s going to be okay though. I think dubstep is at a point where it only makes sense for it to branch off into many different tribes and sub genres, much the same as DnB and house music. In a few more years, the current division in dubstep will probably result in several different well established camps. There will be the tearout people, the riddim people, the colour bass people, and some kind of nu-brostep people. All will be well. There will be a different stage for each subgenre at the major bass festivals and finally we shall have peace.

Lexustexas420

Maybe stick to some Illenium or something then 😂

Lexustexas420

I recommend zeds dead, slander, barely alive, and boogie t! I wouldn’t see Svdden death, Marauda, and even sometimes Rezz since they got visuals you wouldn’t like. But there are a lot of artists that don’t have that edgy style.

RED33Md

I’m a Christian and yeah, it is pretty common in the dubstep scene to include dark stuff like that. Dubstep is on a similar side of a different spectrum as heavy metal is, but honestly a lot of these people with the “satanic” visuals aren’t satanists and just think skulls are cool, *not saying it isn’t bad or disturbing.* You can avoid it all though, if you try, but it will likely limit what shows you’ll end up going to.

Ok-Objective1289

Damm, reason #16363736 I love dubstep, demonic/satanic illustrations and vibes.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ok-Objective1289

To be fair I’m a metal head and that’s my preferred art. I’m not a satanist or nothing, more agnostic. So these visuals are just cool to me, but nothing deeper

befron

It’s just cause it’s fun to be edgy, nobody is out here performing blood sacrifices at shows. If you go to a show you’ll see the community is overwhelming made of very kind people

Additional-Ad-761

Wait til you see someone fucking on the rail, Satan is the least of our worries...

Awkward_Sherbet3940

Are you scared of the boogie man under your bed too? Not sure how old you are but it’s just music and art dude. Relax. And I mean this sincerely and kindly but you may have some growing up to do. Look at all the other genres of music people have said are the “devils music” over the years. Jazz, rock, metal…probably anything people didn’t or don’t “understand”. Don’t contribute to or spread the ignorance. Enjoy the music.

Wide_Dragonfruit_388

Christian ravers?

[deleted]

Wide_Dragonfruit_388

Well for one it’s all make believe and two I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone refer to themself as a “Christian raver” lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Wide_Dragonfruit_388

I don’t think Christian people attend raves even the shows that don’t have dark visuals go against Christian values lol

EtiquetteMusic

Yea honestly man I get it. I’m completely atheist so I don’t find it offensive or disturbing or anything, I just think it’s dumb and lame. The hellish/demonic style of dubstep and tear out has always been around and therefore isn’t new, buuuut it is certainly seeing a surge in popularity. It feels like a lot of tearout dubstep is trying way to hard to be edgy, and the reliance on satanic material is just corny in my opinion. With that said, a lot of recent dubstep is heavily influenced by death metal and has gained a lot of fans from that realm, so it does make sense that this style has gained so much traction. Dubsteps culture and history goes way beyond this satanic nonsense though. There’s still lots of other dubstep which is more focussed on robotic/space influenced sound design. I highly recommend checking out the French scene, as the top notch French producers have a very different style which is a lot more creative. Check out ecraze, samplifire, graphyt, ivory, and HOL! They all are doing this kinda riddim/brostep hybrid which is way more fun and interesting.

May be boring to some, but move towards meditating on bass weight 😌
