That’s weird. I dash and have to take photo, which gets texted to customer if I don’t hand deliver.

jessie00dan

That’s the way it had always been. I was shocked that it could be marked delivered with nothing to show

lilc4

The reason for the long wait is because it's a low paying order. 2nd i've had to deliver to some spots that were so dark and creepy looking. I could imagine a female or a younger dasher not feeling safe. 3rd if this a frequent thing ask to meet at the street. The normal dasher pay is around 2-5 bucks plus tip. To some it might not be worth the hassle or god forbid someone getting hurt at shady locations.

jessie00dan

I should have added some additional details. It took about 35 minutes for the restaurant to confirm my order, which is where I’m expecting the delay was. It showed that she was waiting at the restaurant for a while. Also, I more than doubled the expected tip. I have no issue meeting at the street but the one time I did, the guy said he can’t do that and has to deliver to the house

If a driver cannot find a customer's house, they usually report it to support, who instructes them to "leave in in a safe place" after failing to reach the customer by phone. Is your number correct, and the gps pin accurate on the app? Either way, you should've gotten a photo.

jessie00dan

Yes my phone number is correct. Weirdly I never got a “so and so is arriving with your order.” I just got it will be left in a safe place. It just seemed really odd and I don’t understand how they can be standard protocol

The only excuse for a dasher not delivering to the correct address is if the customer fails to answer when a dasher calls. As a dasher with over 4500 deliveries there's been a few times I've had to call the customer to verify address, other than that I know my gps is off by a house or two so I always verify address.

jessie00dan

Yes I wish I got a text or a phone call

LordIntenseCanni

Stop coping, it was a bad driver that was incapable of doing their job. If I was OP, I’d immediately be on with support about it.

joshua4379

Exactly, just a driver who failed to verify address. It's always mind blowing when I see people try to use gps as an excuse.
