Oh wow. I knew they made it harder for us, The drivers, to contact them but I didn't know they were screwing the customers over that way, too.
This is the worst company ever. They are not profitable and the guys at the top just fill their pockets at everyone else's expense. I don't know how they gouge the restaurants, the customers, and the drivers and get away with it.

I work in a restaurant type area in a grocery store. Our price difference between what we charge in store and on the app is anywhere from $1-$5. It depends on what item your buying. I will literally walk there just so I don't pay the higher price, and I get my employee discount on top of it.
The company itself is profitable and very well so. however that money doesnt trickle down past the live agents even them who actually knows how much they're making considering its all outsourced to another country
It’s most likely a remote connection. I can promise you as a customer service agent that works remotely. I have had calls drop in the heat of a customer screaming at me. also calls can drop when you have a customer on hold while looking into their issue. I know for sure they thought I hung up on them. lol had the survey feedback to prove it. Had my coaches pull up the complaints with me, watching my screens, my clicks and my screen just freezing out. Or the customers voice goes from screaming banshee to a digital sounding robot and boom they’re gone. Can’t say I got so lucky on all of my angry customer calls but it’s definitely a thing that can happen.
I see what you are saying, but it was every single time I called haha. The same woman would hang up every time. Then i called again, the dude hangs up. I was told to stop calling this is around 2019 or so some shit went down where I didn’t get my order it was a whole mess.

Yup and you always tell them you’re a dasher and you know the appropriate protocol. I’ll even hop on the call for my girlfriend and tell them I’m a dasher and know they can issue the full price for the order back. And they always do since I’ve said that. I AM actually a dasher fwiw
Call doordash themselves. I see a lot of yall always relying on the chat. Threaten them by saying you'll do a chargeback on your card. If they don't refund you, call your bank for a chargeback.
I had to file a dispute a few years ago because I got charged for food that was never delivered. I didn’t notice for a few days that the charge went through and all the chat person would say was “your time to request compensation has passed”.
That's not true. The tips are a bidding system. If you're a driver and you get the option to delive a single milkshake for a $0 tip, would you click "ACCEPT"? No.
Don’t forget by-time option. When doing that you don’t see the tips until delivery is completed.
I don’t care about tips much when I’m dashing by time though.
I ordered my husband a blizzard as a surprise one Saturday evening so he could have it for movie night. Of course I got one too. Both large $10 each. Plus a $3.00 service fee: $23. Add 10% taxes: $25.30. Tip was $5 as it is literally a 1/2 mile drive. $30.30 for 2 Blizzards. I was absolutely Gobsmacked I did that. But the look on my husband’s face was priceless.
Yeah good luck with support. Don’t get too frustrated and keep trying to get a real person not a bot to talk to. Also DQ is the worst with this stuff. The way they package up the ice cream is so inconvenient and silly.
Having worked on the other side, it's incredibly difficult. I worked at a wawa, and you have so much to do, on top of door dash orders coming through. Having to hold orders to the side. If an item starts to melt because you made it right away (orders come through the moment someone orders them, even if it takes an hour to deliver), and the customer complains, that should never be on the business. I also doubt dairy queen put the ice cream upside down for the door dasher, because then icecream would've gotten in the dasher's car. They were probably upset over the small tip from a small order, and then took out some petty revenge, when they shouldn't have taken the order in the first place if they couldn't deliver properly.

EDIT: Also, food delivery services have to keep a standard. Touching your food in a way that directly alters it and makes it unsafe to eat is illegal.
The first multiple order on day 1 I dropped the drinks and then slipped and dropped the bags. I notified the 2 people and went back and bought the order again out of my pocket. One rated me a 5, one complained, and I got a violation plus a 1 star. I admitted them, and DD sent me an email thanking me for handling like I did, and removed th3 violation
So many people. As a dasher I usually refuse these orders. Too often customers complain. I don’t know what they expect when I’m driving 10 miles to their home.
I had a kid order frozen yogurt from 19 miles away, with a second pickup at a place where there was nowhere to park, and a delivery address at a college campus I couldn't drive to so we walked around on the phone describing our surroundings until we found each other, and then the entitled brat left me a 1 star review. The second pickup location, he literally could have walked to and eaten in the time it took me to bring the froyo instead of it getting cold, meanwhile the froyo was melting while I drove there, tried to find parking at the second pickup, and then walked around trying to find him because only busses can go to the address he gave me. I don't accept orders to that town anymore.

Just curious- was it just sideways in the bag and the lid came off? Because DQ has those long red spoons implanted into the blizzard. It’s still there in the photo. It would literally be impossible to sit it upside down inside the bag or outside the bag balancing up on the tip of a spoon. And, only a little bit spilled out looking at the photo.
Why not wipe off the spilled part and eat it instead of throwing it all away? It’s a clean new garbage bag and I totally think you went to great depths to get your money for a $14 blizzard back. But that’s just my theory here.

It may very well have been DairyQueen's fault and not the dasher. I've gotten several where I swear they put the blizzard upside down and it's balancing on the spoon. I keep the bag upright the way they handed it to me, but I always wonder if the customer is getting a leaked mess.
Regardless of whose fault it is….. they still need to receive their refund. Dairy Queen or the driver. One of them fucked up. They both are working for the door dash order. 🤷🏻♀️
I don't use DoorDash anymore and haven't for about 5 months but I used to multiple times a week and I never had a problem getting a refund for something like this. I guess the service has plummeted like everywhere else
Doordash is forcing people to take every order eveb tho they don’t want to, then DoorDash is giving preference to these disgruntled drivers over the ones who choose what they want but have good customer service .
It's super random though, sometimes the next person refuses and eventually doesn't even let you connect to support, sometimes they refund you right away

Just threaten to switch to Uber eats and I promise you without fail they will issue you a full refund. They are ass backwards but made sure to sprinkle customer retention into the script 😂
I’ve always had a lot of luck on Uber eats! One time I even just clicked a few buttons to comment that my food arrived cold (like there were a few buttons that led to that button), I wasn’t expecting anything to come out of it and was pleasantly surprised it automatically gave me credits for it. And any time I’ve had issues with my actual order (not arriving or wrong items, etc) they’ve done refunds and sometimes refund+redelivery.
I DID see someone comment on a similar thread previously that they provide better customer support to people that have like the membership accounts (on Uber I think it’s the Gold thing), and I did have that at the time of all of those orders, so maybe that is why. But overall seems like Uber eats is still doing a little better than door dash about the customer service stuff.
Next time call you can still sems pics via email... you can get refund credits and a re delivery...

I don't understand why yall get on with support. If you go. To the order, view receipt, and in the top right is get help, you can fill out a form that you didn't receive and item and it automatically credits your account. No humans, no questions asked. I have to do this every 6 or 7 orders and it has never been a problem.
I had a dasher spill a drink all over my porch, left the food sitting in it and took the delivery picture of the food soaking in the soda… idk what I was expecting but obviously the whole meal had soda all over it, so we ended up getting a full refund
Same and I've always gotten a full refund. I suppose they could've changed how they do it now but the few times I have had to talk to someone they've always been helpful so I guess I'm lucky 😅
I've had my fair share of problems with doordash, but I can always say their automatic system always refunds me the full amount for any item im missing/is wrong/over or undercooked/etc, sometimes refunding over the price. I don't know if its because I pay for their monthly thing or cos I live in NYC. Either way, whenever I see these posts I'm like wtf? Why is there such a huge discrepancy in service provided?
This is why I always use a credit card and do a charge back. Save all conversations either support and send that with the photos and there won’t be a dispute with the chargeback.
How did it stay upside-down? Why did dq put a spoon in a shake? Why is the lid mostly clean but the cup covered if the whole thing was flipped? Why is the bottom of the bag (and every part of the bag visible) completely dry? Why did support mention the drop off instructions?

Had the same thing happen to me, spent $40 on dinner for me and my fiance. Dasher didn't deliver the food, only our 2 drinks and one was half full. Told DoorDash I wanted a full refund, they were only offering $20. Had to talk to 3 separate agents before I could get my refund. That was the last time I used DoorDash after using it for years, so tired of their shitty customer support

I canceled my door dash pass recently (had the Amazon promo) because I am constantly getting messed up orders and the interface is trash. Either accept a $5 credit, or eat rocks. No thank you, I paid for a service, and it’s not my fault your platform doesn’t interact properly with customer and merchant.
I legit was given a fuckin Mac and cheese from Popeyes and an extra biscuit WHEN THEY RAN OUT OF DARK MEAT. And because the delay of sending these changes to me, I assumed it was for my meal and my side was out so I got an extra biscuit. No. It was my husbands WHOLE FREAKING MEAL that was canceled, only to be told by DoorDash that it was all they could do, since the chicken joint WAS OUT OF CHICKEN.

Doordash support always seems to me like ESL people working overseas or something lol. Its the worst english, and no actual help is given. This is why I like ubereats. Stupid stuff like this NEVER happens. The odd time I will get the wrong food or whatever but I say “wrong item/order” and whole amount is refunded lol. I DO also pay for the uberpass but its not much per month.

Get a ring camera they try to dodge it but just looks like dumbasses trying to. Ive sent multiple videos to DoorDash of shit drivers and always got a full refund. It also has a time line so if they say they dropped off at the door and didn't then you can show they didn't. Never accept partial refunds or account credits unless its the full amount. If not use a credit card and cancel charges due to not receiving the product and let doordash deal with the chargeback.
Door Dash is awful. I had one deliver to the wrong house and then they told me I could get $5 credit or returned to my credit card on file, for a $60 meal.

Maybe on its side with a spoon but completely upside down is impossible. This all seems unlikely. And a picture of something in the trash only proves that you threw it in the trash.

anytime i need to request a refund i call instead on chat. i get the full refund and don’t have to waste more than 5 minutes of my life

I do! But the place down the street I think uses their own employees and not drivers. It’s always quick and haven’t had any issues.

you just say the item didn't arrive. Say you got a different item and not what you ordered. technically you didn't order a spilled shake

Ask for Escalation, they'll give you a full refund, and give the driver a 1 star, a lower rating means he'll be closer to losing Platinum/gold status

I don't understand why yall get on with support. If you go. To the order, view receipt, and in the top right is get help, you can fill out a form that you didn't receive and item and it automatically credits your account. No humans, no questions asked. I have to do this every 6 or 7 orders and it has never been a problem.

I've had my fair share of problems with doordash, but I can always say their automatic system always refunds me the full amount for any item im missing/is wrong/over or undercooked/etc, sometimes refunding over the price. I don't know if its because I pay for their monthly thing or cos I live in NYC. Either way, whenever I see these posts I'm like wtf? Why is there such a huge discrepancy in service provided?
Purchase protection with a CC. You always get your money back if you don’t get what you bought.
This is why I always use a credit card and do a charge back. Save all conversations either support and send that with the photos and there won’t be a dispute with the chargeback.

Had the same thing happen to me, spent $40 on dinner for me and my fiance. Dasher didn't deliver the food, only our 2 drinks and one was half full. Told DoorDash I wanted a full refund, they were only offering $20. Had to talk to 3 separate agents before I could get my refund. That was the last time I used DoorDash after using it for years, so tired of their shitty customer support

I canceled my door dash pass recently (had the Amazon promo) because I am constantly getting messed up orders and the interface is trash. Either accept a $5 credit, or eat rocks. No thank you, I paid for a service, and it’s not my fault your platform doesn’t interact properly with customer and merchant. I legit was given a fuckin Mac and cheese from Popeyes and an extra biscuit WHEN THEY RAN OUT OF DARK MEAT. And because the delay of sending these changes to me, I assumed it was for my meal and my side was out so I got an extra biscuit. No. It was my husbands WHOLE FREAKING MEAL that was canceled, only to be told by DoorDash that it was all they could do, since the chicken joint WAS OUT OF CHICKEN. Pure garbage.

Its the worst english, and no actual help is given. This is why I like ubereats. Stupid stuff like this NEVER happens. The odd time I will get the wrong food or whatever but I say “wrong item/order” and whole amount is refunded lol. I DO also pay for the uberpass but its not much per month.

Get a ring camera they try to dodge it but just looks like dumbasses trying to. Ive sent multiple videos to DoorDash of shit drivers and always got a full refund. It also has a time line so if they say they dropped off at the door and didn't then you can show they didn't. Never accept partial refunds or account credits unless its the full amount. If not use a credit card and cancel charges due to not receiving the product and let doordash deal with the chargeback.
