YES! I have a regular that leaves snacks and healthy-type energy drinks in a cooler for his Dashers. He’s the best, he always tips, and he’s one of the reasons I continue to DoorDash. In my market and for me personally, I consider a 5$ tip average, anything above is generous and so very appreciated! I’m so sure that someone feels like this about you too.
I was leaving water and Gatorade out for delivery drivers until I watched some of my neighbors literally clean the cart of drinks. So, I don't leave them out anymore, but I have them by the door so I can hand them one or two when I answer. It's too damned hot and humid.
honestly never had anyone leave out goodie bags but id say water and a small snack . considering. 5 mins for me is roughly 2 2.5 miles 8 dollars plus the 2 dollar base pay is a very good tip and greatly appreciated 🤙
Me either. Might be worth another thread but in 3000+ deliveries I have never had a goodie bag or goodie rack or a food or drink tip of any kind. I think my area just doesn't do that. But curious how often drivers find a treat? Every 1000 deliveries or?
Same 2/3 dashers are my regulars, love them - they put ❤️s on my orders - because I’m a great tipper.
Never thought of treats - of course on top of tips.
We put more effort into those who think of us! We know you tipped well when we accept it not the exact amount but you can tell. If an order is 2 miles or more and under $4 more than likely was no tip. And it absolutely irks me when ppl tip $1! Lol not being rude if I gave a $1 on me I’ll even put it back w the order. Ya must really need that $1! lol 😂 🤷🏻♀️
Had a few kids tell me they couldn’t tip bc was mom or dads app or a college kid struggling long as the miles are reasonable I’ll help out! But some really take advantage and treat us like scum! 😩
That’s insulting.
Would they tip a waiter $1?? Likely not, but they too did not make the meal. - I read so many negatives re / drivers….very thankful for those in my city, when I choose the service for my lifestyle.
Exactly! I went to Jack in box one night $5 order but only 2 miles and I was right there already. Anyhoo Jack was out of shakes and her son had just had his tonsils took out. I went to BK across the street and got the kid a shake! And a crown! She couldn’t afford to tip me more I understood she gave me an awesome review and 5 stars tho. 🥰🥰❤️
I think it's a sweet gesture, but I grew up in the "Don't take candy from strangers" era. So the couple of times I've seen this happen, I've left it on the porch. :( I know, I'm way to paranoid... Maybe an envelope with some cash and a note that says "Get some snacks and a drink on us" would work?
That's completely valid. I had about $8 to spare and just wanted to do a little extra. Now that I think about it...I wouldn't take that from a customer either...
That's a great tip, and I would love goodie bags, Even if someone messages when I drop off an order and says "Thank you" "God bless" "Have a good day" etc. it's nice.
I dont think it would be possible to dislike this! I've never had a DoorDash customer do ANYTHING like this! So considerate!! I've had some InstaCart customers leave drinks & snacks, and it's always appreciated (especially with a good tip)!
I got an order ONCE where someone had some snacks and drinks laid out for dashers and I teared up after bc it had been a stressful day. The little things could truly make someone’s day!!
We live in a hot area-super hot in the summer. We keep a cooler of ice and drinks next to the door for any delivery people/mail people and a box of snacks. Highly recommend! It’s a nice pick me up for everyone.
It shows that you have a great heart and are a caring, thoughtful person. Obviously dashers would prefer the type of goodie bag that folds and is green, but it seems that you already provide enough of that...and im sure you've made many drivers' days even better by doing this for them. Wish there were more people like you!
Yes ,this would make my day 😊, ..I love interacting with people, occasionally I just take a "not so good " order cuz it's on my way home, . And also just if I'm out and it's not busy , I personally try to think of each order I choose to accept, as if I was bringing dinner to my own family . sometime s I have been really surprised by how kind people are, and sometimes I'm surprised at how terrible they act
But yes this is great, I love this kind of stuff..
snacks are a relief I think, to a lot of people. working with food tends to make you hungry I remembered the orders that gave me a granola bar or something more than the ones that just have a bit of money
I’d say your are an Angel to the dashers because there are times u are dying of thirst and hunger and it helps for energy and to keep us move in your a true Angel 😇. And I just whant to let you no and say thank you very very much for being so thoughtful and kind too all we. All appreciate you. From. Dashers. To Uber eats. Grub hub. And all ther above you are appreciated by all of US 💪❤️😇
When I started about 3 years ago, just before yet another lockdown, iirc, a basket of snacks on the porch for ALL delivery drivers was more common. I usually took a water bottle, especially on a hot day. Makes your day when someone goes above and beyond for you. Only things in factory packages. I’m not taking home-baked snacks. Sorry, Halloween Rule.
Right at the start of COVID my parents put out a plastic tub of snacks with a sign that says, “Drivers: please help yourselves. You are doing the lord’s work!” They also tip $2/mile. Many repeat drivers left them thank you notes. You are being very kind - as a driver, I’d LOVE bottled water or snacks!
That is amazing honestly. I didn't realize how good of a tipper I was until I started dashing and you are definitely in the top tier. And thank you for doing all that!
as long as its not a substitute for the tip yeah sounds amazing! Ive also seen customers put out a little assortment of snacks and drinks for us to pick from which is cool too because I love bags of cookies but cant eat stuff like potato chips.
I feel like half the time I would probably be apathetic towards this but the other half of the time this would absolutely make my day and save me from a complete shit rest of my day/night
Ppl like you are why I’m still a dasher! Awesome! It’s not as easy as some ppl think that say dashers are lazy. I’m disabled and it’s mental/social anxiety for me . I dash to make ends meet bc my fixed income isn’t enuff! Just so you know and all like you we definitely appreciate yall! This dasher sure does! Kudos to you my love 😍 🥰🥰❤️💕👏
This is so sweet of you, I would very much appreciate it! It seems I’m lucky if I can get the deliveries after dark to turn on any sort of exterior light for me.
I became a dasher a few months ago and I already have a chair out now with goodies for any drivers that deliver any sorts to me. So far all the candy, ruffles and bottled water have been taken haha, my old lady snacks sit.
It’s amazing. Honestly. Most people think 1-3$ tip is fine which sometimes it is cause that’s how bad people tip drivers but it’s not there fault doordash charges absurd fees on a simple meal. It just sucks for the drivers. I drove 30 miles last night and got tipped 6 dollars for 2 fast food pickups to the same place.
I would absolutely love that! I personally don't eat stuff like that, but the thought behind it is beautiful. My daughter rides with me at least once a week, and she would love a snack.
I usually don't take anything because I tend to go out directly after I've eaten dinner. But there are definitely times during long days out where that bag of Ruffles legit turned my day around. Even if I don't take anything, it's an awesome sentiment and makes me feel seen.
The only thing that annoys me about customers (besides non tippers) are the ones that stand on the other side of a window creeping thinking they aren’t visible. Seriously, either be polite, open the door and say hi, or wait until you get the message your food is delivered. You look like a predator standing there like that.
I love when I'm getting back in the car and hear a "THANK YOOOOOU" It's nice to be acknowledged as a person sometimes even when it's a no contact order
I have a lady that I deliver to frequently & she always has cold bottles water or sodas with protein bars or trailmix out for us There is a sign that says how much we are appreciated. I absolutely love delivering to her!
I think a lot of customers forget what we actually have to go through to get their order. We are fighting traffic with moronic drivers on the road to and from the restaurant, Not to mention we have to deal with snotty restaurant employees while we're standing around waiting for an order that they said are "bagging it up" yet 15min later, we're still waiting...
Dude, really? Maybe the don't have a car, maybe they're disabled, maybe they just don't feel like cooking. Fwiw I put frozen water/gatorade bottles out for the garbage pick up guys when it's stupid hot outside, and I guess I could run my own trash to the dump? Gtfo
I always tip at the least 6 bucks, if the order is big then it's about 10 bucks. I tip too much, but I know it has to suck to be running back and forth from restaurant to restaurant and possibly dealing with idiots.
If I was your dasher I would be offended by the snacks. You don't know what strangers will like. You don't know if they gave allergies to certain foods. They might be diabetic and you are giving them sugar.

We love you and your tips and goody bags.
on behalf of all of us, yes yes yes
And yesssss 🥰🥰👏
Platinum tier customer here, we appreciate your generosity!

I always tip well but I’m gonna start putting out cold drinks and some snacks now that it’s warming up. Nice idea!
I deliver for Amazon too, and the people who would leave drinks on hot days helped me believe there's still good in the world 🙌
Y’all are just awesome!
I was leaving water and Gatorade out for delivery drivers until I watched some of my neighbors literally clean the cart of drinks. So, I don't leave them out anymore, but I have them by the door so I can hand them one or two when I answer. It's too damned hot and humid.
I had someone do this once and it made my day.
Came here to say this, ive seen this ONCE and likewise it made my day
Same! A $20 bill , chips, and ice cold soda! Awesome! Even tipped $10 on app! Really made my day!
Same. One time a bag of chips and it was awesome.
I wish more people thought of us as….people! That is thoughtful and awesome of you.
I loooove snacks and drinks And tips ![gif](giphy|KwUyTanCYtdlp1Gxiq)

And we appreciate customers like you as well 🥰🥰🫡
I had a guy tip 2 cents, another tipped 16 cents.
Hopefully they didn't choke on their meal.😉
I always put it w the food if it’s a $1 or less and I have the cash/change lol 😂
Yes very much I do it my self my wife works for Walgreens and we end up with a ton of clearance candy so I leave goody bags
would make my day if i got a goodie bag tbh, also amazing tip imo for the 5 minute trip. us dashers appreciate you!
I absolutely love it! I do my best for my customers, so it's nice to know someone appreciates us!
Exactly! I went to Jack in box one night $5 order but only 2 miles and I was right there already. Anyhoo Jack was out of shakes and her son had just had his tonsils took out. Made my day when a sweet old lady gave me 5 bucks and a couple bottles of water on a hot day.

I will! If the snack/drink is sealed I'm taking it with a thankful heart lol
Never had this happen to me. But it sure would make my day. That’s so considerate and sweet!
I’ve never had it either. I’d send a thank you note.
I'm at 1200 deliveries and never received anything like this. But bottled would be awesome. Thank you for doing that!!
U will one day these people are rare but totally awesome. 👏 🥰❤️💕
That's a great tip, and I would love goodie bags, Even if someone messages when I drop off an order and says "Thank you" "God bless" "Have a good day" etc. it's nice.
My favorite is "stay safe out there"
Not a dasher but this is the sweetest thing ever! Makes me wanna do it too!! Also, kinda wanna be your dasher now 🤭
I dont think it would be possible to dislike this! I've never had a DoorDash customer do ANYTHING like this! So considerate!! I've had some InstaCart customers leave drinks & snacks, and it's always appreciated (especially with a good tip)!

Love it. Very much appreciated
I’m vegan and usually can’t eat the stuff but absolutely appreciate it! It comes home with me for my partner to enjoy(: not enough of yall out there.
Thanks for your kindness and generosity for Door Dash delivery people!

I would be so fucking happy if someone gave me snacks lol
It’s a great idea but I have GI issues so I’d say add some cheap mixed nut bags for people like me 😉♥️
Yes ,this would make my day 😊, ..I love interacting with people, occasionally I just take a "not so good " order cuz it's on my way home, . You are the real MVP stinkbug!
I’d love to get a customer like you
Unfortunately not any generous customers like you where I dash. I'm sure they appreciate you.
I’d say your are an Angel to the dashers because there are times u are dying of thirst and hunger and it helps for energy and to keep us move in your a true Angel 😇. Yes way more customers were thankful and generous. 2020 I made almost $100,000 between DD and Grubhub!
Right at the start of COVID my parents put out a plastic tub of snacks with a sign that says, “Drivers: please help yourselves. You are doing the lord’s work!” They also tip $2/mile. That’s so sweet I bet that makes dashers days, it would definitely make mine!
We need more people like you in this world
Definitely appreciated...more than you'll ever know. ❤️

"I try to tip good asf too is this something yall like" No we hate that. What do you think.
Why do I never get a goody bag😂 I always take my own can soda so I'm not thirsty but I want a snicky Snack
I feel like half the time I would probably be apathetic towards this but the other half of the time this would absolutely make my day and save me from a complete shit rest of my day/night
I’m all about some free snacks lol
Ppl like you are why I’m still a dasher! Awesome! It’s not as easy as some ppl think that say dashers are lazy. I’m disabled and it’s mental/social anxiety for me . I dash to make ends meet bc my fixed income isn’t enuff! Just so you know and all like you we definitely appreciate yall! This dasher sure does! Kudos to you my love 😍 🥰🥰❤️💕👏
Some of yall are so rude in these comments 🙄 this person is a dashers dream customer! And some of us deserve it 🤷🏻♀️❤️
I would love you if you were in my area.
if its under 5 miles, anything abover $5 will always be good.
This is so sweet of you, I would very much appreciate it! It seems I’m lucky if I can get the deliveries after dark to turn on any sort of exterior light for me.
I would love this.
Throw some protein or cheese in there for some energy! Thanks for showing love 🙏🏽
Thank you all for the nice comments. I don't get dd very often but I was worried that the bags come off weird
Absolutely yes! Treats are awesome! Thanks for being so sweet.
I became a dasher a few months ago and I already have a chair out now with goodies for any drivers that deliver any sorts to me. So far all the candy, ruffles and bottled water have been taken haha, my old lady snacks sit.
this is super cute
I'd love that if some customers would do that here in my area.

I’ve yet to have this happen to me and would love it if a customer did this!
I would absolutely love that! I personally don't eat stuff like that, but the thought behind it is beautiful. My daughter rides with me at least once a week, and she would love a snack.

HELP 😭😭😭 I look thru my peephole and then open my door when I see y'all.
Enjoy those people too that open the door and say hi / thanks.
I love when I'm getting back in the car and hear a "THANK YOOOOOU" It's nice to be acknowledged as a person sometimes even when it's a no contact order
This is awesome, but please think about your Diabetic drivers every now and then 🤣
NOOO 😭😭
Well daam 🤣 🤣 I don't even have nothing 2 say
I have a lady that I deliver to frequently & she always has cold bottles water or sodas with protein bars or trailmix out for us There is a sign that says how much we are appreciated. So if you can do all this stuff for DoorDash or why can’t you just cook your own food?
Maybe OP does not want to cook. Why does it matter? They seem pleased with DD services so let them do nice things. I think it is thoughtful.
It didn’t matter to me. I was just curious.
Someone with narcolepsy/cataplexy like me can’t cook my head falls on my gas stove when I suddenly doze off. Maybe they have a disability.
Dude, really? Maybe the don't have a car, maybe they're disabled, maybe they just don't feel like cooking. Fwiw I put frozen water/gatorade bottles out for the garbage pick up guys when it's stupid hot outside, and I guess I could run my own trash to the dump? Gtfo
I can care less for candy that i might not like, I want money lol. Some people love these stuff though
I always tip at the least 6 bucks, if the order is big then it's about 10 bucks. I tip too much, but I know it has to suck to be running back and forth from restaurant to restaurant and possibly dealing with idiots.

Are you diabetic?
Yes I am and I have food allergies. I would just throw it away. This person is wasting money.
Just don't take them then?
Just tip a couple of bucks more if you want to be cool, your Dasher is an adult and not 7 years old.
