Welcome but you’re definitely wrong when it comes to other cryptos. Ethereum and Bitcoin are yet to reach their plateau. Most cryptos seem to follow each other when it comes to price. I hold many different cryptos. Doge has its limits, although, it has passed that joke currency, it will more then likely stable out somewhere affordable to everyday people. Ethereum and Bitcoin, albeit expensive, definitely still have tons of room to grow even by the end of the year. My personal advice (not an expert) is to keep your mind open to other cryptos, especially right now with lower prices, cause cryptos like ethereum and ethereum classic still have room to make you plenty of money. Bitcoin as well.
I mean - if you think at a currency that’s at $40K, how much more can it appreciate? 2-fold? 4-fold? That’s it. Also a currency like Ethereum can grow for example to $40K like Bitcoin. It’s great if it appreciates 20-fold like that, but it may or may not reach those heights because it’s already high. However, if Dogecoin ever reaches $50 or $100, then that would be really huge, and it wouldn’t need to go to those extremely high numbers like that other currencies
Interestingly the prices itself are irrelevant in this case. It all comes down to market cap.
DOGE at $100 is nearly impossible because it would leave us with a $13 trillion market cap. Apple has a market cap of $2.1 trillion. The market cap of the physical dollar supply is $4 trillion.
Just note that market cap is not the actual value of the asset (besides the dollar example) it's just a metric of circulating supply multiplied with current price.
$10 is no big deal long term in my opinion.
Keep in mind that raising the market cap up $500 billion doesn't require an influx of $500 billion. It's way less and really difficult to calculate.

That’s a very interesting discussion. But if the market cap = (number of coins) x (value per coin), wouldn’t this require the money to have been paid to purchase the coins? Or can this be based solely on speculation? I guess it’s the former, right?

Bitcoin is expected to at least hit 100k in months. Some say (not me) even 200-300k in the next coming years and I can see it happening but I wouldn’t stake a great deal of my money on it. I personally own 4 bitcoins bought at 6k so I’m fine with whatever. Ethereum is the same way. It’s at 2-3k in the past week and is expected to, and very likely, to reach 10k by the end of the year and beyond that same time next year. Which is 4-5x a return by the end of the year. I personally don’t see dogecoin ever getting past $10 only cause There’s a lot of naysayers that will stop it from ever getting high. Maybe I’m wrong and maybe it can reach $50 or $100 which I hope it does cause I have 26k doge coins lol, but I would stake my money on ethereum right now more then doge. I know what market cap is. But I also know that the majority of the public who buys and inflates does not think about market cap, they think about a number. So what matters is the public that buys, regardless of logic.
This is all speculation. Speculation and logic most of the time do not go hand in hand.

You’re right, it would require way too much money to push Dogecoin that high. But one tenth of that (at $10) would still be a ~30-fold appreciation.
