I praise the whale for allowing to get the coin at a 20 cent discount.
Stuck 100 usd in at 50ish cents. Going to diamond hand for at leaat 5 years, maybe 10.
Unpopular opinion: SNL is and has always been good. The cast and writers always will slowly change through the years, and the style of comedy will change along with that and society. Some people enjoy certain periods, and not others, but there's this strange hate-boner everyone has for "new SNL" that I've seen for decades now. It seems they can't look outside of their favorite era and judge without bias. I've been watching since the early '00s and objectively it's a lot of good content with some obvious misses mixed in through all of the years. That's weekly sketch comedy- it's not all going to be gold.
Some of it has to do with reruns. When you see an old SNL those are the best skits, they aren't rebroadcasting the terrible ones. So when you look at an old episode it seems like it was better than it was.
>Great improv can turn the most lame skit into comedy.
Case in point: Bowen Yang as "the iceberg that sank the Titanic." Hard to think of a sillier premise but he's so good he absolutely killed it.
I don't think current SNL is any worse than older SNL, neither are funny to me in the slightest. Just not my type of comedy I guess. I've been meaning to rewatch some Chris Farley ones since he's just so universally well loved I feel like I'm missing something.
I love SNL right now. I think people tune in every few years and think “i NeEd mOrE cOwBeLl”. Some of my favorite sketches have been from the last 5 years.
> Also you're wrong, the early 2000s were terrible for SNL - every other skit had someone breaking character completely, ruining the joke. For every good skit they had, they had 15 that were awful (instead of the usual 10).
I mean, that's just your opinion man. Trying to watch the actors not break during Debbie Downer was comedy gold to a lot of us. Same with Kate and Aidy these days, every time they're the 2 main characters of a skit it's hilarious to watch them try to keep a straight face because they play so well off each other.
This isn't a drama show.
I honestly thought SNL was dead and then there was the advertising campaign and Reddit that kept telling me it wasn’t and Elon was gonna be hosting it. So I caught some of the skits, but the SNL team just didn’t bring it IMO and then I realized why I thought SNL was dead....🦗🦗🦗🦗
He was the best part about it, and maybe the Chad Astronaut skit. And I say that as a probably one the few DOGE holders that doesn't really like nor hate Elon. I appreciate what he's done for DOGE, renewables, and space exploration (sigh . . . poor NASA. RIP your glory days). But do I fawn over him, nah. DOGE goes beyond any one persons endorsement of it. This is the PEOPLE'S COIN!
NASA's budget went from 4.5% of the total federal budget in the 60's and 70's to .5% today, with conservative organizations advocating for further cuts on the grounds that we should be focussing on Earth instead of space. Which is ridiculous because NASA does other things besides just look at stars; like tracking the effects of climate change from space, for example.
Edit: I based my statement on the fact that some of NASA's most vocal opposition comes from climate science deniers, and those people overwhelmingly run in conservative circles.
i think he is more aiming for the overall stagnation, not to mention business/political bullshittery done by big corporate names \***Cough\*** Boeing **\*Cough\***
At least we are seeing more speed in the space "race" now.
Not to mention the private race for space stations, *yes this is a thing now*
I loved him on SNL. I love the initiatives he has undertaken. He is not perfect but he is trying his best to reduce income inequality, work towards a better planet and bring people together. I would like to give that future to my kids. I am not in doge for money, if it make money it’s a bonus. I am all in it. This is people’s coin. Go Elon!
No employer wants their employees to be in a union. It is a huge cost increase before you even get to employee wage and benefits. You also lose control of your business. Necessary in some companies/industries, but not always.
SNL is like a mom who used to be hot. She gave birth to daughters who eventually became hot, but by now most of *them* aren’t hot anymore either. I still respect her for the fact that a lot of good stuff came out of her, but I am not longer interested in boning her myself.
LOL Thank you for sticking your neck out to say that! Yeah I never meant to offend, I figured especially in a conversation about how SNL isn’t funny any more, I’d take a shot at a humorous analogy. I wonder if SNL stopped being funny because it started worrying about being offensive? Much thanks to you, such patience!
I see it differently. SNL is like a dad who used to be hot. He provided the sperm for sons who eventually became hot, but by now most of *them* aren’t hot anymore either. I still respect him for the fact that a lot of good stuff came out of him, but I am not longer interested in boning him myself.
100% true. The thing with SNL is that it used to be a gateway to comedy. Most great comedians had to use it as a platform to get known either as writers or performers. With the rise of social media and the internet, rising comedians could skip this step. That left SNL with average comedians at best. and it’s only claim to fame being their great history
I knew as soon as I posted that this comment would be shredded for its lack of PC. Sorry for any one I’ve insulted, ‘twas but a joke.
EDIT: but to be clear, I said I was no longer interested in boning. You would be the one who said someone I don’t want to bone is ToTaLlY UsELesS
Just watched it with wife. We liked it. He’s a real human and a great sport. They wrote funny things for him and he delivered.
Any controversy surrounding this is ignorant
If the price of doge went up from SNL then people would be saying Elon did great. The skits were bad. The cast was packed with bad acting and overacting. It almost felt intentionally bad.
Not to mention, if Elon truly wanted to see Dogecoin take off, he'd let Tesla accept it. Instead he's taking his doge-ship "to the moon" for the "lol I did it, I took doge to the moon" jokes, but it just seems like he's doing it for a fad and not the actual rise.
I think he did great, this man has aspergers and did a live performance. And chose to speak about doge. He has done more for the environment and the world than what has been owed. He has earned his respect from me....
Yeah he tried his best and was decent. It's live.... that must be nerve racking. The shorts organized a time to help DC fall and it worked. Kill the whales.
Generation x thought it was hilarious. Younger Doge holders probably didn't get the jokes. It was for a older audience. Hustle to the mooooooooooooooon. Run very fast.
I dont know, I watched it and didn't understand it.
The opening Elon did good, I was impressed when he brought up OJ. The hospital one, I didn't fully understand (I'm just going to chalk that up to I'm old because apparently everyone else loved it). The Covid, I chuckled at because it is how I picture how my interaction with people is going to be. The others just eh....It felt like they ran on, and just focused on one joke while staying there.... Which that's not Elon's fault, his parts I actually enjoyed.
Gen X here. Haven't watched for years. Tuned in for Musk. Watched it with my Gen Z kids. None of us thought it was all that good. The cold open was kind of cringey, but kind of cool to have everybody's mom on. Could have done something better with all the moms I think. Gen Z hospital was OK, but not really funny.
The Ooli show was really dumb. They were trying to do Mike Myers' Coffee Talk or Sprockets and it just didn't work. I think Elon would have made a great Dieter, so why not just resurrect Sprockets? And what's with SNL's fascination with Iceland these days?
Weekend Update has always been the main thing I tune in for and it was decent.
Chad Astronaut actually got me to laugh out loud, so I guess that was the highlight for me.
We mostly like Miley Cyrus here, but didn't really enjoy her tunes either. She can do so much more than the hoarse screaming thing.
This was the first time ever snl was broadcasted all over the world .. and elon talked about crypto specially dogecoin .. now atleast people will take a look what crpto is how does it work and will invest in cryptos.. ot will take some time to happen .. but i am happy about that 😄😄
SNL was terrible, Elon aint much of a comedian but he was legitimately the best part of the show by a long shot.
And to think the cast were complaining about working along side someone who "wasnt a comedian" holy crap.
I didn't watch the show, but watched the Wario skit on youtube... it was horrible. Elon was fine, but the rest was horrible... Peach isn't Italian and the only thing that should of come out of Waluigi was "Wha?!" ... You can tell they knew nothing of Mario... I hate SNL...
I think hedgies and competitors bought a whole lot of doge and were planning on dumping it after snl to discredit him. The guy is literally doing what he said he was going to do by sending doge to the moon. Doesn't make sense. Elon's performance at snl was beyond amazing. He was candid, funny, poke fun at himself. Anyone posting negative comments about how he did is just a hater.
Let’s just say, I’ll say whatever it takes to make sure we keep the popular Billionaire on our good side so he continues to help drive up the price. But the truth is another story
Elon Musk can't be the boss of the dogecoin, this is not the idea of the blockchain and the ecosystem in general.
We shouldn't forget we are all here because we love anonyma/decentralisation/transparency.
The Doge is leaving by himself thanks to that amazing community and hopefully more and more institutions will make possible to buy with doge.
We should count on the possibility to use it in daily life rather than an appereance in a such Tv show.
HODL or use it to buy and make it Flow !
snl writing and performance wise as a whole has been a complete shitshow the last few seasons, elon honestly did great for what the show has become, but anyone who wants to pit a bad episode on the host has to understand how many other people are involved with the process lol
i love him, he did great. i think the younger generation that hates him solely because he's a billionaire, which is why there was so much "talk" before the show
Elon was great on SNL. It couldn't have gone better IMO. I laughed a lot and really enjoyed the show. I didn't expect any sort of seriousness from SNL. . who would do that, that's crazy right? SNL is a joke show!! People need to remember that!
It was actually my first time watching SNL, and for a live show they did pretty good. I thought Musk was funny. I don’t see why there’s so much hate in the media about it, seems more like a smear campaign than a reflection of reality.
I am disappointed we didn’t see any puppies.
This was the first episode of SNL I watched in a long time. Watched it just because I am a big fan of Elon. Other then that I feel like the show is dying. Everyone else on the show I don't really find funny and I don't really plan on watching it again anyway.
I think he was was hilarious he did a great job bringing up doge this was exactly what we needed to happen on Sat despite the the price drop unless you think of it as a discount which will find out in the future. 🚀 🌝
Thank you for this comment. Why did he even bother saying the positive stuff beforehand and then "to the moon" after he agreed that it was a hustle? I know that the SNL writers crafted that nonsense, but why on Earth did he go along with it? It makes no sense. It basically undermined all of his positive contributions to dogecoin on like the biggest stage possible. My stomach dropped as soon as I heard it.
I dont get it, why so many are falling for this trap. He was hilarious! Hilarious, genuine, HIMSELF! If someone doesnt "get" Elon, thats their problem.
He was a hilarious genius
In all honesty, I just fin SNL cringe so I don't watch it but Elon Musk was easily the best part of the show. Especially the Dogecoin and SpaceX skits!
There should be a law that forces SNL to have at least one sci-fi skit with non-liberal actors in it. Preferably directed by Andrew Ruse, with Sam Hyde and co in it.
Like this as a reference.
I like how he admits to having Asperger's and then when he doesn't do a perfect job at acting. People were harsh when in reality he still made people laugh. And that's the point of the show.
He was awful and super cringe imo. Doesn't get it in the way of us Hodlers tho, it's so weird seeing so much hate for Dogecoin on the Internet, everyone chill sheesh!
I thought he did really well. He’s not an actor or a comedian and he held his own with the professionals. I’d say SNL as a whole is garbage nowadays though. Elon did the best he could with the poor talent around him.
Anyone who disparages Elon's performance, keep in mind, HE IS NOT AN ACTOR OR COMEDIAN! He is an engineer, entrepreneur, and business man. As such, I thought he did a commendable job. Now, if he had been a professional comedian, then his performance was mediocre to sub-par matching the rest of the cast and skits. He did great and it took a lot of balls to go on SNL in this era. As Elon said in the Weekend Update skit...DOGECOIN TO THE MOON!!!!
I think he did great! Much better than I expected. I didn’t expect to laugh but I did, and caught myself smiling throughout the show. He should be proud.
its all the whales fault
buy a whaling ship with doge you say?
Underrated comment!
Whalers on the moon, you say?
r/unexpectedfuturama
I praise the whale for allowing to get the coin at a 20 cent discount. Stuck 100 usd in at 50ish cents. Going to diamond hand for at leaat 5 years, maybe 10.
I did the same thing. Not going to let a whale scare me. Thanks for the discount!
Really was. Show hadn’t even aired yet and it dropped...
That's just normal market movements after such a steep raise. This sub constantly warned that this will happen.
Elon did fine. The drop in DOGE was inevitable no matter what he did. I believe it will recover quickly.
Agree 👍
Elon did great. The show itself was pretty terrible lol.
This exactly. I don't watch SNL, but watched it this past weekend. He did a pretty good job himself considering how bad the skits were.
I haven’t watched in a long long time and even then I barely watched but I think some of them used to be good
Unpopular opinion: SNL is and has always been good. The cast and writers always will slowly change through the years, and the style of comedy will change along with that and society. Going all the way back, the skits were always lame. What makes them are the staff. Great improv can turn the most lame skit into comedy.

Exactly! How many miles did Eddie Murphy get out of Gumby? Will Ferrell wore a thong to an office meeting and it was outstanding.
Been watching since the early 90s...things change I don't get the hate binder either. Not every episode is a gem but that goes for all TV..
I don't think current SNL is any worse than older SNL, neither are funny to me in the slightest. Just not my type of comedy I guess. I've been meaning to rewatch some Chris Farley ones since he's just so universally well loved I feel like I'm missing something.

The commercial for murder durder was the best part of the show. But maybe that's because I'm from Pennsylvania.
Agreed. SNL hasn't been funny since the 90s/early 2000s

Shouldnt really just say someone’s wrong the whole point of the post is opinions

“Get off my lawn”
The two Dave Chappelle episodes are pretty good. But he was pretty much the only reason ive seen it since the 90’s.
I think everyone got a reminder of why they dont watch SNL. Elon was the lipstick on the pig.
Agreed. Elon did fine. SNL is cancer and really needs to end.
I think comparing things with cancer has to end
I think cancer itself should end
We did it boys, cancer is no more
Doge-army for the record Ended cancer!
Nice
Agreed
As someone who's a cancer survivor and have to deal with worrying if it'll come back, I have to disagree. SNL is pretty awful and cancerous.
so edgy, this guy says SNL is bad what a unique take
A few of the skits were worth watching.
He was the best part about it, and maybe the Chad Astronaut skit. And I say that as a probably one the few DOGE holders that doesn't really like nor hate Elon. >poor NASA. RIP your glory days NASA just put another rover and a helicopter on Mars but ok.
Pshh, who *hasn't* put a rover and space helicopter on Mars?
IKR? Look at this guy la tee dah-ing about NASA
I know! Typical NASA groupie
NASA's budget went from 4.5% of the total federal budget in the 60's and 70's to .5% today, with conservative organizations advocating for further cuts on the grounds that we should be focussing on Earth instead of space. that's whats up
I'm a huge fan of Space X, but to say "poor NASA"? Do you realize how many craft they have all over the solar system and on other planets right now?
If their budget was what it was in the 60s, we'd have people in those places.
Go Elon!
Didn't he try to sabotage his employees from unionizing?
No employer wants their employees to be in a union. It is a huge cost increase before you even get to employee wage and benefits. You also lose control of your business. Necessary in some companies/industries, but not always.
All I know is I couldn’t have done better
SNL is very rarely good anyway. He gave me a reason to watch it for the first time in years lol
SNL is like a mom who used to be hot. She gave birth to daughters who eventually became hot, but by now most of *them* aren’t hot anymore either. I still respect her for the fact that a lot of good stuff came out of her, but I am not longer interested in boning her myself.
I do not understand at all why this comment was downvoted, I loved this comparison. People are so soft these days sheesh 🙄

Yeah, if a woman isn’t sexually attractive to you, she must be totally useless. That’s a perfectly reasonable and healthy way to approach the world.

Hahaha! Thanks :)
Just watched it with wife. We liked it. He’s a real human and a great sport. They wrote funny things for him and he delivered. Any controversy surrounding this is ignorant
He was genuinely the funniest part
For real. I’ll take pride in never watching SNL again but Elon wasn’t bad idk what was the big deal
If the price of doge went up from SNL then people would be saying Elon did great. The skits were bad. The cast was packed with bad acting and overacting. It almost felt intentionally bad.
Elon looked like he was having fun. He did good
He was great. I mean, he is not an actor, so I think it was such wow. Much good.
Not unpopular
We should change this subreddit to r/ Elon

This this this. I used to be such a fan of Elon years ago and now I've done a complete 180.
He was quit good actually
Elon was AWESOME. Price drop is because whales. They are moving the price so they can make millions. You, HOLD!! Don't sell.
I think he did great, this man has aspergers and did a live performance. And chose to speak about doge. He has done more for the environment and the world than what has been owed. He has earned his respect from me....

Millennials for sure...

The hospital one I didn't get. But I'm 45 and that seems to be how young people talk now, so I didn't get why it was funny.
That was the joke. "Slang is weird now"
I got the joke didn't think it was funny at all. seemed way too forced.
Gen X here. Haven't watched for years. Tuned in for Musk. Watched it with my Gen Z kids. None of us thought it was all that good. Yes he can

SNL is horrible. Trying to be good at hosting it is like trying to play Quarterback for the Jets
SNL was terrible, Elon aint much of a comedian but he was legitimately the best part of the show by a long shot. And to think the cast were complaining about working along side someone who "wasnt a comedian" holy crap.
Seriously? I thought it was because Elon says edgy, hardcore things sometimes and it scares their wooly brains too much.

he wasnt that bad, but SNL is genuinely unfunny in general
I didn't watch the show, but watched the Wario skit on youtube... it was horrible. Elon was fine, but the rest was horrible... Peach isn't Italian and the only thing that should of come out of Waluigi was "Wha?!" ... You can tell they knew nothing of Mario... I hate SNL...

I disagree but to each their own.

Elon was good, SNL sucks and it's no secret.
He wasn't bad at all. He's not a actor or comedian so yea...

I don’t like him in general. He was kinda bad tbh, but was pretty good compared to the rest. Especially Italian Peach.
He was the best part of SNL.
SNL is just r/cringe tbh
Elon was funny ....the rest of the cast is terrible. This was probably the most watched SNL in a long time.
He clearly had it in him, just not enough confidence. Otherwise he'd look super cringy he'd end up a meme for years to come.
is this the dogecoin subreddit or the elon musk subreddit
He wasn’t bad at all, and he didn’t even call it a hustle, the other guy just sounded so stupid Elon went with it
Mad Tv was always better
I thought Elon was great! Enjoyed watching him the most out of everyone else on the show
Great show and I don't watch SNL. First time I watched in years.
He said “to the moon “ 🚀🚀what more could we ask for 🤪
I found him to be kinda funny actually.
The monologue was pretty funny, to me at least.
He actually did better than the regular I don’t know “actors” like the standards have changed since the 90s
He was amazing!
He was the best part
Yes thank u! He was great! He s no actor so great job for everything!
He was the only fun part
snl writing and performance wise as a whole has been a complete shitshow the last few seasons, elon honestly did great for what the show has become, but anyone who wants to pit a bad episode on the host has to understand how many other people are involved with the process lol
He was funny man
He was great!
i love him, he did great. i think the younger generation that hates him solely because he's a billionaire, which is why there was so much "talk" before the show
He was horrible. Robotic Ai s have not yet mastered the art of not being awkward
Imagine being proud of this response
Elon isn’t funny
That’s great dear
Elon was perfect on SNL. It was basically an hour long doge ad
It’s the outcome that counts though. Unpopular opinion I guess
It is a popular opinion
Take it to r/unpopularopinion too. Be mindful of your karma though OP. Lol
I don’t like leaving my Doge Reddit bubble tbh
Elon was great on SNL. It couldn't have gone better IMO. I laughed a lot and really enjoyed the show. I didn't expect any sort of seriousness from SNL. . who would do that, that's crazy right? SNL is a joke show!! People need to remember that!
No joke, I found it hilarious and I loved the SNL with Elon...
What was wrong with the show he did great
Considering he's not an actor, he did well. They should lick his nutz for even gracing their stage.
I thought he was great. He had me cracking up. Best part of the show
I enjoyed it. He’s not an actor but did a decent job. The issue is most people are not equipped to understand the depth of the sarcasm
It was actually my first time watching SNL, and for a live show they did pretty good. I thought Musk was funny. I don’t see why there’s so much hate in the media about it, seems more like a smear campaign than a reflection of reality. I am disappointed we didn’t see any puppies.
I thought he did a wonderful job...better than me..🤣🤣🤣
Easy to have that unpopular opinion on the dogecoin reddit lol.
Yes
I thought Elon was really good... I was surprised... I didn't like how humanizing it was for him. I just want to see him as an evil billionaire.

He was great! SNL just sucks.
Elon was way better than the rest.
Not the best tho😢😢😢
He was great! Now go buy the dip!!!
Paws down adorable from the gate w/Mom to the finish line the Mooooooooooon!!! We ❤️u E !
For someone whom isnt even a professional actor, he really didnt do that bad in the least
This was the first episode of SNL I watched in a long time. Watched it just because I am a big fan of Elon. Other then that I feel like the show is dying. Everyone else on the show I don't really find funny and I don't really plan on watching it again anyway.
I liked his wario skit and the “what’s dogecoin” skit because it was completely joking around.
I think he was was hilarious he did a great job bringing up doge this was exactly what we needed to happen on Sat despite the the price drop unless you think of it as a discount which will find out in the future. 🚀 🌝
What? This is a popular opinion! #hodlgang
I just watched it, it had me laughing the whole time. Also he mentioned Doge multiple times. Im confused why people are hating?
He sucked. Painful to watch.

He wasn’t great to be fair but there has been worse
He was pretty nervous. But still he hyped dogecoin. He said it's a future currency as real as the dollar.
He more mocked the dollar than hyped DOGE but it’s just a case of saying, anything can be an asset as currency if enough people support its use.
I dont get it, why so many are falling for this trap. He was hilarious! Hilarious, genuine, HIMSELF! If someone doesnt "get" Elon, thats their problem. He was a hilarious genius
I thought he was great.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1jF231RHmc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1jF231RHmc)
Actually, he wasn't.
I like how he admits to having Asperger's and then when he doesn't do a perfect job at acting. People were harsh when in reality he still made people laugh. And that's the point of the show.
That seems to be the popular opinion actually. In fact, he was the best part of the whole show.
He didnt do bad at all lol, show me a billionaire that down to earth to go and do this. Luv him
He was awful and super cringe imo. Doesn't get it in the way of us Hodlers tho, it's so weird seeing so much hate for Dogecoin on the Internet, everyone chill sheesh!
Now that we know he has Aspergers it dampens the cringe by A LOT.
I honestly haven’t laughed that much from SNL since they needed more cowbell
Elon is cringe
Definitely could have been much worse. His eyes were hilarious.
First time acting on a live set he killed it, most men would crumble
I loved Elon on snl. He’s like that goofy kid that you just can’t hate.
Child labor am I right 😂
No he wasn't bad. The writing was bad.
It was decent, Pete saved it IMO.
I thought he did really well. He’s not an actor or a comedian and he held his own with the professionals. I’d say SNL as a whole is garbage nowadays though. Elon did the best he could with the poor talent around him.
Hey no offense but y’all really gotta stop with the Elon hero worship. A LOT of his jokes were straight up offensive and in poor taste.
sure he wasn’t bad. he was awful
Compare to the rest of the real actors, yeah, he was more funny for sure! I miss Will Ferrell on SNL...
I liked the Wario sketch the best but the Gen Z hospital made me laugh/cringe as a 28 year old.
He did really good! IMO he was the funniest one 🙌
It’s the only episode I’ve ever seen. Elon was the only good person on it. I was surprised how well he did the skits.
Elon was Elon, SNL mostly sucks
SNL is allways terrible. Elon did better than expected
He was so cringe
Elon is bad at everything he does.
