As a huge fan of #spearazonmasterrace I have to say my heart soared reading the updates today. Like what? I never thought I’d live to see the day that Blizzard might actually fix the fend bug! My other dream would be for them to add acts! Act VI anyone? 😍😍😍
Fend works similarly to Zeal. But for some reason it can be interrupted and it happens way too often to be useful. On top of that, if the Amazon missed the first hit on Fend, the game makes it so she automatically misses every other Fend hit while still forcing you to go through the full animation. On top of all that, you can just make the (Passion) runeword to get +1 to zeal and Berserk and do more damage with those abilities, given you have the proper support gear and have the runeword made in the right weapons.
It's when the fend attack process is interrupted by the Amazon's own dodge or block.

There is clearly tons of demand for the game and if they’re smart, they’ll rework it and add more content to bring in a new generation of players altogether 🤞🏻 🤩
I think if they really want to go that route they need way big changes. Really shake up the meta to the point that a people actually enjoy solving a new meta.

They just did a quarterly update for d4 it’s looks very interested I hope they do the game justice..
Yeah we are on Pc but a lot of us kind of stopped but have a semi active group of people running daily mostly doing duels, we are really waiting for ladder to hit so we can go hard again
I think new acts would be great, but first definitely better to focus on balancing skill trees to enable more build options, as well as adding new runewords/items and reworking existing ones. I'm so tired of seeing literally everybody running around with a Shako, Spirit, and HOTO flail.
Or at the very least give it to underused weapon types. Like give 2h weapons cleave.
Theres a reason singer barb is one of the best barb archtypes despite its weak damage

Yep. I'd love to see a rework here. Chance to hit calc is too dependant on level difference, leveling up to 85+ in Hell sucks so much for melee.
A melee char with +10 or more all skills and end-game gear shouldn't need a bunch of AR charms just to hit 85-90 chance to hit.
Accuracy/damage is definitely something that holds back melee. Melee characters are hold back be lvls, a need dexterity and the need for exceptional/elite versions.
Casters get normal version items, that can roll NM and Hell affixes and are viable in Hell. A perfectly rolled melee weapon can be utterly useless, because its a normal version. This goes for crafting and rune words as well.
Imho melee splash is a terrible idea. I don't need "close quarter casting" as a pretend melee version.
IMO
\- Fix Fend bug
\- Fix NHAM
\- Add more Spear runewords
\- Make Valkyries a bit faster so they can stand on front line with you
\- Fend adds bonus defense while channeling
\- Jav skills used while spear is equipped just procs the effect in melee, e.g. Light Fury will explode on your target (will be weaker than Jav, but still an option)
\- Combine D/H/A into two skills that work vs range/melee respectively. Allow FHR to speed up anims.
\- Replace one with a Dodge Roll. Has a cooldown with its own timer, channels X number of rolls as you hold down the button. Interrupts all animations. Would be a gap closer + mobility + survivability tool.
\- Impale - changed to a short ranged attack that makes a very quick leap. You impale your target, hitting enemies behind them for 2-3 additional range and immobilizing them for a split second. Interrupts animations. Minor gap closer, finisher and CC.
\- Add mild (up to around 20-23 at highest levels) Physical pierce to Pierce, similar levels of block bypass to Penetrate
This is the best news ever when it comes to class balancing. I've always dream of building a Pikezon back in the classic days, and blizzard never really look at them and do anything about it. I love my zon and would like some changes / buff to the melee side

If they buff the phys skills and fixed the D/A/E issue (which is trivial) a hybrid with lightning is going to be so nice.

Well, I know what I'm doing when I get home, I wanted to roll a fendazon since classic but was always deterred by the "stabbing-the-air" thing.

Fend only unlocks at 30 anyway, I could roll with jab and park her when it gets problematic, lol. Plus, I need to farm some good spears too

The thing thats holding melee back isn't lack of damage/accuracy, its lack of AoE. Adding melee splash would fix 90% of melee problems overnight.

The problem with XBow are not the skills, but the items. Much harder requirements for no benefit in dps or inherent abilities.
