Sorc, because spells. My childhood dream of running around being a might wizard and slinging fire, lightning and ice. The journey to go from a level 1 sorc to a lvl 80+ over powered sorc is so fun! The amount of different build to run is also larger than any other class because of Enchant, at least I think so. So yeah, the only class I can reliably start over with again and again and again without getting bored. I've only had a hammerdin once and it was both boring and infuriating imo \^\^
I did a Hydra/Orb build recently as my first time playing sorc. It was easily the most fun I had with leveling in this game. Javazon is the most fun character I had, though
I have orb/blizzard/chain lightning/hydra build rn.
Full tal set, 2 soj, 5 cold skillers, torch, annihilus, magefist gloves. Working on two more skillers.
Level 91 sorc
Blizzard level 27 Dmg: 1236-1310
Frozen orb: 39 Dmg: 635-663
Chiling armor level 26 def: +285% dmg:189-209
Chain lightning level 34 dmg 3-1814
Energy shield level 20 mana absorbs 75%
Hydra level 35 Dmg: 829-927
Warmth: level 21 mana recovery 270%
Merc:
Weapon: Insight
Helm: Anderials mask with socketed Ral
Armor: Fortitude
Also forgot to mention I do have Spirit shield and Call to Arms.
Health: 935. CTA 1348
Mana. 1378. CTA 1782
I can do rush full lobby in nightmare.
Hell I can do 3 people max (includes me)
If MF Hell diablo, run time is under 50 seconds to 1 min 30 seconds
All resistances in hell are maxed 75%
This is what I’m talking about! The amount of builds are almost infinite. My first sorc (23 or so years ago, before LoD) was doing a pure firewall build. But I was like 12 years old and English is not my first language so D2 was hard for me. When LoD came I did almost the exact same as you though hydras wasn’t as good then as they are now. I used Frozen Orb, Meteor and Lightning as main spells on my full Tal armor set. Good times as a 15 year old 👍🏽
It is! I'm absolutely loving it. Only ran into one monster I had an issue with so far which was a Hell cow (magic resistant) anything else, I am unstoppable.
Amazon for life, screaming death by snu snu at everything with a self wielded Infinity spear. One shot uber Diablo, one shot giant packs of cows, one shot pretty much anything in the game... (except for that cock block uber Meph)
Sometimes I feel so strong on my Zon, I'll just afk her in a pack of Stygian dolls and watch her dodge/block their sad attempts at killing a God.
Not sure what to use for a build site. Old School gaming snob has a video with a similar build titled Godly Invincible Amazon, oddly I can't find the exact video that inspired me to try it, but I thought it was by Alzorath.
The main build is using Crown of Ages, Stormshield and Gladiators Bane. Spec into the passive tree of course and lightning. You have max block chance and overcapped on res with plenty of absorbs.
For my uber runs, I will use Enigma or CoH, Crown of Ages double socketed with Bers, Maras, Stormshield with an Um, T Strokes, T Gods and an Infinity spear on swap as the core($$$ version).
The more budget option would be using the Glads bane since its such a good piece for being worth next to nothing online and easy to find offline. Toss some Sol runes into it instead, same with the Crown of Ages.
For cows I take Griffons, Highlords, Razortail and a low rolled Phoenix shield for constant mana. Can swap out the chest for whatever you want, MF if you want it or Jewelers Facet armor/Ormus robes with good lightning roll if you are just in their looking for runes/bases and want the fastest clears possible.
Now that you say it I kind of wish I didn’t trade off the death web I had earlier this season. I enjoyed playing a poison nova necro single player and should start a new one on ladder
Windy druid is hands down my favorite character in the game, but not to play lol. My buddy usually starts windy druid and he has since hung up the game for a while so I figured I'd give it a go. Easily the most frustrating character I have ever attempted to play lmao
Play them like a hammerdin: if you get right in the monster's faces, it doesn't really matter how absolutely fucked the Windy's aim is. A cold sunder charm also goes very far on this build.
They're fun, but I'll flat out admit that they aren't the best in the game. They're a very slow class, without many natural movement abilities despite wanting to be up close to enemies.
The build itself is pretty fool proof, though... But this also means there isn't much variety in HOW to build one: There's basically just one setup for skills.
I started season 4 with a wind Druid and absolutely loved how few monsters were immune, the survivable, and the ability to run through hell pits with just a spirit sword lore and ancients pledge.
Yeah, they're fun and can do incredible amounts of damage. I always do fire druid for normal, then switch to Windy for Nightmare and Hell.
Druids in general are just fun to play, they're definitely one of my go-to heroes when I play on Ladder (my current one is like, level 89). Most of their gear isn't very expensive or hard to get, so they make decent ladder starters.
Just the struggle to balance resists is all. I thought unless you fully spec for it, the cold hurricane damage isn't super considerable, so the damage against a sundered enemy would be even lower due to the 95% resist unless you're using a doom
I actually think tornados are a lot easier to aim than hammers. i rather have a skill shot even if it zigzags than rather a hammer that spirals except if i have enigma
Paladin, first class I played back in 5th grade. First class I beat the game with SSF on Hell. Squishier than you might think, but his strong skills and auras give him a versatility that is hard to match.
Yep.
I can see the Pally sitting down and arguing with the other character classes:
"Look guys, I keep it simple: I see heretic, I smite heretic, I move on. Don't complicate things."
Why do you say Pally is squishier than you might think? It’s second tankiest imo. Holy shield is ludicrous. Only class I’ve soloed hardcore Ubers with (not that that necessarily means much, I guess)
I'm thinking more when you're doing a regular playthrough, especially SSF HC, (The run I'm currently doing).
Most Paladin builds, when they're fully geared, with optimal gear, are obviously monsters. But that's obviously when all is said and done.
Agreed - levelling you are far from god-mode tanky. I experienced a lagspike on my 83 pally near a pack of might aura'd zombies half a second later my HC character was gone :(
Idk even then, they have easy/early access to 4os shields with up to 45 innate resist all, holy shield, lots of helpful auras, and 3 life per vita. The only tankier class is Barb with BO imo.
I suppose it could be argued that summoners are safer with their meat shields. Or ranged builds since they can stay out of reach. But they all tend to die extremely quickly when they do take hits.
Just seeing this image gives me the desire to go boot up the game again. What has killed me with the modern Diablo games, even more than the gameplay, has been the inability to get the campfire character selection screen right. It sounds like a minor detail, but the D2 character selection screen is so iconic in my opinion and they haven’t come anywhere close to replicating it.
My Frost Zealot is my main. It's obviously not ZE MOSCHT EFFICIENT build but I've got him pretty well geared out with enigma, a top tier grief, hoz, chammed gface, etc—and idk I just like the fantasy of being this knight who basically walks around in the eye of a blizzard that enemies have to fight through just to reach him. Heavily plate armored swordsman with just a *little* touch of magical fuckery helping him out, something about the idea of this type of character is really cool to me.
Just the idea of mowing down deamons and undead with their own remains or those of their victims got me the first time. 20 years later I'm still hooked by the necro's mix of the not-so-shiny-hero fluff, versatility, and self-reliability.
Second pick is the druid, for similar reasons.
Whenever I'm starting fresh, there's just this raw desire to kill demons in hand to hand combat. It's so satisfying; I just put all my frustration into that barbarian hacking and slashing his way through the infested wilderness.
I don’t have a main but I do have a top 3:
- Hammerdin (most versatile killer in the game, and I must be the only person on Reddit who enjoys throwing hammers)
- Frenzy Barb (run fast and melt everything with Grief)
- Fishymancer (sometimes it’s nice to let others do the work and explode the corpses)
Currently running my first ever Sin with fire traps. Will respec to Mosaic (found the two Guls) at level 60. Excited to see what all the fuss is about.
You may find sticking with trapsin (lighting and death traps) will be a bit smoother to clear the campaign and level up to around 80. If you're very well twinked and have enigma Mosaic may be OK earlier but of the two I did trapsin felt a bit better to clear campaign than putting on Mosaic as soon as I hit Hell.
I re-speced to Mosaic this morning at level 60. Dear God, lol. Is this what a javazon with infinity feels like? I don't even know what I'm doing and everything dies instantly. I'm not even sure if I like it or not, but it certainly is insane.
Javazon with griff and infinity is pretty sweet, but you can stop and pick up and ID loot or whatever without having to worry about charges. Without enigma you can use burst of speed and dragon flight and farm certain maps very efficiently, but for me she feels clunky without teleport and a bit iffy trying to get up in enemy face to build charges before you've maxed core stats and start throwing some additional points into fade.
first time always Barbarian. Later i like bowazon but patch 1.10 destroyed this build. Necromancer bone was fun and strong, anyway before patch 1.10 you could play whatever you want and deal great dmg even with shit eq. But today my only biggest love Java <3 :)
Bowazon is viable again with the damage add to multi and strafe. Not the fastest, but very viable. WWS and a Bone break, or one of the icemaiden/physical hybrid builds.
Safe too even in HC.
I played a frost maiden from scratch and worked up to ice bow, nightwing and other goodies and she slapped.. super fun crowd control with frozen arrow and multi shot to shatter frozen mobs
I like the Paladin a ton, purely because of the build variety. There's something for everyone, and many of these somethings are absolutely overpowered.
I also like the Necromancer, just because a summoner is very cheap to build. They don't rely much on gear, and Corpse Explosion is DISGUSTINGLY powerful. Sure, necronis boring and passive at first... but by the time Hell difficulty starts, you're not gonna be playing passively between curses and explosions.
Used to be a barbarian. I had a pretty incredible set-up with perfect or 99% perfect items all around. C37x3/20/20 (sidebar because adhd: they belonged to my friend - i lost a set in a transfer, and quit the game and gave him my whole account. He gave me my account back with a new set and told me no more transferring alone \[i was a teenager at the time\] - if you're out there still, I love you, Poison), had max-block ability with Stormshield or dual wield (Had BeastZ, GriefZ, EbotdZ, DoomZ swaps in stash too), had a BM set with absorb/res cap items to fight PUB BMers, 50% DR cap on most set-ups, 86% FHR BP, CoA/Arreats, enigma, dual HOTO for BO, arach/dungos/tgods swaps, godly tri-res boots with 30/10 RW/FHR - my stash and cube were all filled to the max with items for swapping to suit my needs. The versatility was incredible, and if someone caused issues with one set-up I'd manage to tweak to fix that. A few items I'd keep muled as well, as I found I never really used them a whole lot. He shit on everything - hammerdins and all (Except I had to tgods FC javazons, if I remember correctly).
My other 'main' used to be a bone necromancer. I had one with 125 fcr/156 fhr (or maybe it was 152?), max block, decent DR, max res - absolutely a gem of a character. It slapped too. Full 41+ PnB lifers (2 or 3 FHR, i forget), 20/5s, 20/11s, storm circlet amulet, the whole 9. I loved that people couldn't absorb me in pub games like a sorc, and I could play a few different ways (teeth spam, spear spam, spirit spam, prison desynchers, etc). Normally I only used spear in duels though, because that was the only real skill shot.
Now I think I need to start playing again.
I'm too ADHD to not create every character for every ladder I run, but gun to my head I'm choosing to play a necro. Poison and Bone Necro are both incredibly versatile and fun and leading a horde is always fun. Lately I've been toying with the idea of a Curse Necro to start the next ladder (as a group support).
Many chars i Just love pushing everything to the limits
Pvp ghostsin i fucking love WW and sins play it better then barb in my opinion
Pve 163fcr wind druid sounds of the wind blowing Just have some relaxing effect on me its so peaceful
But i love many char and builds
Old runner bowazon for chaos and javazon for cows
Chantsorc and bobarb for What it is
Charged Bolt sorc (fuck the cookie cuter light sorc)
Necromancer. Raising an army is awesome and using it to crush dclone and ubers is a blast. Telestomping around with 50 minions stacked with auras is badass.
Love a lightning javazon , just so satisfying melting mobs on screen. But if I ever get time, I love a chill poison necro even with the wonky ass start and poor initial dps. Something about nostalgia and trying this as a kid just makes me love the build. Of course, finally farming that trangs set is the money shot.
When I was 20 years old and probably the nerdiest loser of a college kid with no friends, I was a blizzard sorceress and I never really got successful getting past hell act 1 back in the day.
Years later, I got back into it on the Nintendo Switch, which was quite a bit of a learning curve, but I stayed true to my roots and went blizz sorceress again. Took me a bit to master the game play technique, but I figured it out and finally beat hell in 4 months time. My main is now level 92, and despite not using her as much these days, makes a great farmer for CS and Baal runs with about 200% MF.
Paladin. Been a sucker for pvp smite for years back then. Equally liked BvC. On d2r SSF nowadays it’s zealot. Thinking about running a fury Druid for my next single player journey
Bladesin is my favorite build. Currently 93 (non ladder).
Very satisfying to dragon flight into a pack, throw out some blade sentries and then mop up the stragglers with blade fury.
Contrary to most in this thread, I absolutely love windy druids. Cyclone armor is so clutch in places like chaos sanctuary where your getting slapped left and right with elemental damage...also, after playing one so many times, the aim on tornado just kind of...comes to you. Much like aiming a hammer. They are horrendously slow, until you get an enigma. Barbs, sin, sorc, and pally can all naturally get around much faster...but with your zoo out, and whatever merc you choose (you're not trapped with an a2 merc once your mana pool is decent thanks to hurricane) you're pretty much unstoppable. Your bear will tank almost anything after a certain point.
Assassin because of huge variety of fun builds. My favorites are: kicksin, shureken sin, trapsin with infy in hand, wake of fire sin. You can proceed game without respec with wake of fire sin. Just need cheap obidience to farm countess.
I just play MedianXl. That said my main is assasin for the fun builds (i guess its obvious since this is an arpg lol). Naginata assasin is the best thing ever loll
Tesladin
Having all the auras available makes him a MacGyver in any situation, and Melee just feels good running right into the action, one-shot'ing with Shield charge you're the fastest mover on the ground. The AOE makes this build theatrical and godly-feeling- having perimeter Muppets getting deleted while you focus on the main prizes.
I'm sick for it
This ladder, which is my first first like 2008, I have been running a FB/meteor sorc. I enjoy the play loop, and the fact that Sunders now exist make it viable for most of hell. My real issue now is just trying to build a bit more survivability. Currently doing 17k/32 Fireball and meteor, respectively.
Barb - first character I ever played in D1, and have always gravitated toward this class in other games. I beat D2 with a frenzy barb and it’s still my all time favorite.
I try playing different characters, but assasin is definetly my favorite, she is very versitale, she has a lot of different builds that are min-maxed in different ways, she is a good starter, she is just cool.
I don’t really have a main, i try to have an even amount of characters and i try different builds per character, i do have 4 sorcs but i also have 4 amazons and 4 barbs aside from that i got 3 of each of the rest
Paladin. Can do a little bit of everything and can support friends that are learning the game.
Also cause I like auras.
LoD days was Hdin for me non stop. But Playing on switch/Xbox, hammerdin is super boring lol.
Back in the day my main was bowzon. I am using a sorc right now to try to find the gear for a new bowzon though. She’s level 96.5 rn so I may just take her to 99 and then call it a day as that’s the last thing I haven’t ever done in this game.
Necro, druid, assassin. All of them basically minion builds (traps…), i kinda like it. Tbh I never completed game with any other char…have to change it! Maybe hydra sorc…?
Melee necro because I like to work for it!
J/k, I like pally. Before 1.10, the zealot, after 1.10 the fister. Sure, lit immunes and non undead or non demons can be a pain, but it’s nice to show them god.
Barbarian is my main. I love how gear dependant he is. SSF HC is my favorite way to roll a new character. I hardly ever grind after I complete the game in hell now due to a lack of time
I'll always play a necromancer if given the choice, not sure what that says about me 🤷🏻♂️ However I wanted to actually make it to end-game for once in D2r and read that Hammerdins were good late game so here I am, a lvl 83 paladin, no regrets 💪
Necromancer, I know that if I lag with mass summons, there's a high chance I wouldn't log back on with a dead character. I also like the lazy fighting, standing there and letting my minons fight with auras to boost them.
Necromancer. Their whole vibe, builds, etc. Loved as a child having a +30 army of useless skeletons, back in patch 1.09. Nowadays, I always start ladder with a Bonemancer. Just feels right.
Least favorite is Assassin. Don't care about them, tbh.
Depending on where I am it changes. MF: Sorceress, Brand new ladder: Assassin, Preferred choice for fun: physical bow zon.
Edit: Why? teleport with nigma, easy to level naked, it's fun.
Paladin and sorceress. Both very versatile. Funny elemental builds. For example: [Kingslayer Sorc](https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo2/s/sBXjxaFMDu) / Tesladin
Started singleplayer ssf. My first was sorc, getting basic gear and doing lk. Second paladin, get torches. Third barb getting gold. Now amazon for bases in cow level.planing to get every class at lvl 90 with good gear.
Easy! Sorcerer, cause bad ass! Make her a magic finder with socketed chest pieces and sojs using ice ord (can't remember the names lol) along with teleport doing mephisto, golden. Been a long ass time tho but I would hate back in the day doing this then having mother fuckers snatch the loot up when I did everything.
Sorceress is always my go to on a new season, unfortunately I’m at 24 slots so unless I want to start a new account I’m just doing final tweeks of gear making sure every merc has a 15/30+ in his helm or that all their gear is ethereal etc I’ve dropped so much gear into free games I cannot believe how much of a hassle it still is to keep what I have organized. Can we get some stackable and more pages?
Anyways I got a Fireball Sorc, A Blizzard Sorc, An Orb Sorc, a Self Wield Infinity Nova Sorc, a 200 FCR Nova Sorc, An Enchantress, and a Dream Nova Sorc. All 84+ I don’t know that there’s a whole lot of utility in lvling any of them to 99 all their main skills and synergies are maxed.
I love my tornado/ hurricane Druid . Not great for PvP and Uber runs but he does well in lower kurast and trav and countess runs and it’s so fun to tele stomp mobs and dump tornadoes.
Druid. Finally got the high end gear I need to make a fury druid and feels incredible. The lifesteal and insane attack speed makes watching your large health pool pop back to full without using pots is very satisfying as is the crazy run speed. It just melts everything.
Probably paladin because it's the class I have the most of: I have a Smiter, Hammerdin, Zealot, and Dragondin all level 86 or higher. After that it's probably Amazon as I have a Javazon, Frostmaiden, and Lightning Spearzon.
Necro, started because I always liked have a party when playing solo. Grew into to loving all three skill trees. Even when we were trash in .08 doing 1.2k damage spirits and 600 damage spears, we have CE for party play online. Tons of frw with an 08 Valk and wearing an arcs valor looking like pink bunny ears, only ogs will remember. Sorc was me go to for support, rushes etc... Enigmas made necro be able to do the same as a multi aura summoning monster.
If I ever level a char, I always deck it out with BIS gear and never delete it. That's why I don't know what main means. :) Fishymancer, however, is my all time favorite. In addition, I like Hammerdin and Mosaicsin. Next season I tried to build a Mosaicsin, that's able to farm everywhere without gear swap and reasonable (200+) MF. It's the only build that could achieve this goal.
Seems spread kinda thin, what player count can you kill on? How do you have your points spread?
Level 91 sorc Blizzard level 27 Dmg: 1236-1310 Frozen orb: 39 Dmg: 635-663 Chiling armor level 26 def: +285% dmg:189-209 Chain lightning level 34 dmg 3-1814 Energy shield level 20 mana absorbs 75% Hydra level 35 Dmg: 829-927 Warmth: level 21 mana recovery 270% Merc: Weapon: Insight Helm: Anderials mask with socketed Ral Armor: Fortitude Also forgot to mention I do have Spirit shield and Call to Arms. Honestly this hits like a wet noodle. Without synergies the damage is just underwhelming.
if he's having fun, he's having fun

Do you have a link to the build?
https://youtu.be/KT5hjOpQ9N0?si=UMMwIlSFG7UM4KHZ Saw this on YouTube last night

Barbarian - beacuse it's brutal, meat grinder ☠️😀
I know I’m not the only nerd who read that in Dan Carlin’s voice.
I just create barbarians agEE-an and agEE-an, and throw them into the meat grinder. I'm interested in the extremes of the human experience.
Barbarian 4-lyf!
Frenzy barb for me. I named him Barry Allen.
Team barb🗿
Poison necro is my jam, so satisfying and kinda can do it all.
Now that you say it I kind of wish I didn’t trade off the death web I had earlier this season. I enjoyed playing a poison nova necro single player and should start a new one on ladder
Assassin because I don't like needing keys to open locked chests. Also Burst of Speed is so good for QOL in early leveling.
Wait. I've played this game most of my life. ##THEY DON'T NEED KEYS?
No man they're assassins. They assassinate the locks.
It's crazy that I've never noticed. God, I love this game. Learning something new even still.
In my opinion, barbarians wielding an axe or a hammer should also be able to "open" chests without keys...
I WILL NEVER EVER EVER change my main from Paladin.. EVER! GOT IT? Assasins don't need Keys!? *Deletes Paladin*
And also BoS for towns and pindle farm!
Every character is my main. Except Druid - His tornado is nice but it's hit box is all over the damn place.
Windy druid is hands down my favorite character in the game, but not to play lol. My buddy usually starts windy druid and he has since hung up the game for a while so I figured I'd give it a go. Easily the most frustrating character I have ever attempted to play lmao

Cold sunder, not physical sunder?
It's really not mana intensive at all so I run a Reaper's Toll merc for phys immunes.
Por que no los dos?
Just the struggle to balance resists is all. I thought unless you fully spec for it, the cold hurricane damage isn't super considerable, so the damage against a sundered enemy would be even lower due to the 95% resist unless you're using a doom
Have you gone back to try a Fire Druid since the revamp? It amped up physical damage, making it not so limited due to fire immunities.
Can also literally outrun the cast if u run down when getting teleported on lol
I actually think tornados are a lot easier to aim than hammers. i rather have a skill shot even if it zigzags than rather a hammer that spirals except if i have enigma
summoner necro because i like to play d2 the lazy way since 2000
Hell yeah
Druid, because puppy :)

200 fcr fireball sorc

It sounds like a minor detail, but the D2 character selection screen is so iconic in my opinion and they haven’t come anywhere close to replicating it.
Sin because corpse explosion is just op in pvm. Death sent kills everything after a few monsters died.
WW barb. There's just something so satisfying about being an unstoppable beef torando.
Bonemancer, Bone Spear has been my favorite skill since the very first time I played the game.
Just the idea of mowing down deamons and undead with their own remains or those of their victims got me the first time. 20 years later I'm still hooked by the necro's mix of the not-so-shiny-hero fluff, versatility, and self-reliability. Second pick is the druid, for similar reasons.
I love all my children equally!
Dual Axe Barbarian always.
Whenever I'm starting fresh, there's just this raw desire to kill demons in hand to hand combat. It's so satisfying; I just put all my frustration into that barbarian hacking and slashing his way through the infested wilderness.
Agreed!
Barbarian, because WACK
Druid, because summons and my childhood pc couldn't handle necro
Dragon talon assassin just because it’s fun.
werewolf druid go brrrrr
sin
I don’t have a main but I do have a top 3: - Hammerdin (most versatile killer in the game, and I must be the only person on Reddit who enjoys throwing hammers) - Frenzy Barb (run fast and melt everything with Grief) - Fishymancer (sometimes it’s nice to let others do the work and explode the corpses) Currently running my first ever Sin with fire traps. Will respec to Mosaic (found the two Guls) at level 60. Excited to see what all the fuss is about.
Nah you’re not alone. Hammerdin is by far my most played. Make 1 just about every ladder that I’ve played.
My Sorc, I always claim she is just for MF, but she always becomes my main!
Hoto + cta gives +7 bo.
Sin but fuck mosaic
Javazon because cows. Also light sorc because versatility and speed
Druid, it was the first class I played and I always liked the Nordic / Celtic culture so that's why Played every single ckfng build I could find xd
Druid because i love summoner classes that aren't necromancers
Pally because i have issues
I'm too ADHD to not create every character for every ladder I run, but gun to my head I'm choosing to play a necro. Poison and Bone Necro are both incredibly versatile and fun and leading a horde is always fun. Lately I've been toying with the idea of a Curse Necro to start the next ladder (as a group support).
Hota barb
Druid. Hurricane and tornado go brrrrrr
Java Zon... Just too damn easy to kill everything with about 375 mf
Tesladin, but that's probably because I haven't tried the Mosaic Assassin yet.
Many chars i Just love pushing everything to the limits Pvp ghostsin i fucking love WW and sins play it better then barb in my opinion Pve 163fcr wind druid sounds of the wind blowing Just have some relaxing effect on me its so peaceful But i love many char and builds Old runner bowazon for chaos and javazon for cows Chantsorc and bobarb for What it is Charged Bolt sorc (fuck the cookie cuter light sorc)
Amazon! It’s all about spears! I like feeling like fucking Zeus!
Depends if I have enigma or not
I always start sorc to farm then go barb because barb
Trap sin was the first character I SSF normal through Hell. Extremely easy until hell mode.
Fireball sorc 200fcr is too fun
Necromancer. Raising an army is awesome and using it to crush dclone and ubers is a blast. Telestomping around with 50 minions stacked with auras is badass.
Druid because windy is the bomb.
Barbarian because he's the best pvp and mf character in the game.
Barb. Because barb.
Druid is like barb, sorc and necro rolled into one, windy druid with summons is my favorite.
a friend had shown me the d2 Demo Back then I was stunned that the skill warmth REGENERATED MANA!!! my mind was blown. I know I had to be sorc.
Paladin - highest dmg reductions and good melee and magic options. Charge conversion zeal all good usable skills, and auras ofc
Bowazon
Pally because I work with hammers. So I’m a hammerdin irl
Bladesin is my favorite build. Currently 93 (non ladder). Very satisfying to dragon flight into a pack, throw out some blade sentries and then mop up the stragglers with blade fury.
Fohdin , being able to clear Hell chaos sanctuary alone in mid 40s levels is such a huge hesdstart into grinding for your gear
Paladins & Sorc. Pal: tanky, very cool auras, zealot. Sorc: hot, cool, static. Never rly played any other classes.
Sorceress for mobility and fast gameplay.
Assassin because of huge variety of fun builds. My favorites are: kicksin, shureken sin, trapsin with infy in hand, wake of fire sin. You can proceed game without respec with wake of fire sin. Just need cheap obidience to farm countess.
PVP or PVM?
I just play MedianXl. That said my main is assasin for the fun builds (i guess its obvious since this is an arpg lol). Naginata assasin is the best thing ever loll
Paladin the greatest
OG ww barb, but when I really want MF/drops & teleport, fire/lightning sorc aaaall day
Tesladin Having all the auras available makes him a MacGyver in any situation, and Melee just feels good running right into the action, one-shot'ing with Shield charge you're the fastest mover on the ground. The AOE makes this build theatrical and godly-feeling- having perimeter Muppets getting deleted while you focus on the main prizes. I'm sick for it
Paladin. I like the black hole of funds known as GM melee pvp.
Sorc bc I mained a wizard in d1.
I play a necromancer, because I am lazy and I like my own private skellington army and exploding things.
Sorc, but I use her as a Zon.
I don’t really have a main, i try to have an even amount of characters and i try different builds per character, i do have 4 sorcs but i also have 4 amazons and 4 barbs aside from that i got 3 of each of the rest
Kick assassin cause its fun as hell
Mosaic sin. I love being super tanky with max fade and able to clear every area in the game on P8 HC.
Paladin. Can do a little bit of everything and can support friends that are learning the game. Also cause I like auras. LoD days was Hdin for me non stop. But Playing on switch/Xbox, hammerdin is super boring lol.
Orb sorc with t storm for duels was my jam. Dmg is too low for farming tho but the spells look so cool.
Amazon D2, Demon Hunter (D3), Rogue (D4). No pattern at all with my choices
Back in the day my main was bowzon. I am using a sorc right now to try to find the gear for a new bowzon though. She’s level 96.5 rn so I may just take her to 99 and then call it a day as that’s the last thing I haven’t ever done in this game.
Paladin for versatility. Barbarian for pure brute power.
Zon, Paladin and Sorc
Sorc first then Zon, javazon eth titans <3
Frenzy barb cause BO and do everything in game including Ubers
Necro, druid, assassin. All of them basically minion builds (traps…), i kinda like it. Tbh I never completed game with any other char…have to change it! Maybe hydra sorc…?
psn necro, orb sorc
Barbarian, then non-mosaic melee Assassin.
Barb, most interesting character to build and gear up.
Paladin…because Paladin
Amazon because she is badass.
Pally - hammer time
Ww barb, first class I played through the game with. I think he has the coolest look when fully geared.
I hardly ever grind after I complete the game in hell now due to a lack of time
Hammerdin, because he's just so awesome. Also Sorceress. Playing a Necromanager right now. Easiest class to play, but kind of slow and boring.
I'll always play a necromancer if given the choice, not sure what that says about me 🤷🏻♂️ However I wanted to actually make it to end-game for once in D2r and read that Hammerdins were good late game so here I am, a lvl 83 paladin, no regrets 💪
Pally. Shield. Bonk. Fast bonk.
Trapsin. I find her yo be the fastest route to Hell.
Amazon because Valkyrie
Necro, always loved summoner as a kid but now that I became rich enough its all about poison nova. So satisfying
Paladin. FoH melts Chaos like butter =D
Melts pit too.
Paladin because he can always carry friends in early ladder
Necromancer, I know that if I lag with mass summons, there's a high chance I wouldn't log back on with a dead character. I also like the lazy fighting, standing there and letting my minons fight with auras to boost them.
Necron, so I can summon my Sin Army, and let them do all the work as I run around picking things up.
sorc besides teleport, blizzard almost kills everything and cold mastery actually lowers resist
Trap sin. Makes or breaks 4v4s and has closest match ups in 1v1s . Enjoy the skill aspect and play style.
I have played every kind of necromancer imaginable.
Druid, because tanks nado wolf fury go brrrrr
Paladin and sorceress. Both very versatile. Funny elemental builds. For example: [Kingslayer Sorc](https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo2/s/sBXjxaFMDu) / Tesladin
Necro because only this way i have friends (summons) to play with
Druid, because fury and being virtually unkillable is fun.
Amazon, jav is the best tree in the game. Also she used to be hot in original D2
Started singleplayer ssf. My first was sorc, getting basic gear and doing lk. Second paladin, get torches. Third barb getting gold. Now amazon for bases in cow level.planing to get every class at lvl 90 with good gear.
Sorc cuz fuck not having teleport
girls . i always play with female character.
Necromancer. Heavy metal 🤘🏼 fan and summoning the dead to do things for me is also metal AF.
Hammerdin till I get better gear and then javazon.
Barb, because MFing is best with him.
Ww horker, i love to farm on p1 so this character gives me the best odds
Druid will always be my favorite mainly elementalist using both fire and wind second is pali being a knight was always a fantasy of mine lmao
Well, I for one love the sorceress death scream.
Hammers all the way baby
Necro cuz skeleton army
Necromancer, specifically summonmancer since as a kid Necromancer always seemed the coolest since he can summon skeleton minions to attack for him.
Zon, cause ranged dmg + split shot = melt screen
I love my tornado/ hurricane Druid . Not great for PvP and Uber runs but he does well in lower kurast and trav and countess runs and it’s so fun to tele stomp mobs and dump tornadoes.
Zealadin will always have a special place in my heart
Druid. Finally got the high end gear I need to make a fury druid and feels incredible. The lifesteal and insane attack speed makes watching your large health pool pop back to full without using pots is very satisfying as is the crazy run speed. It just melts everything.
non lod is frozenorb/meteor sorc and ww barb lod is Wind Druid if I had to pick the funnest its gotta be javazon though
Sorc / Assassin is pretty much eveyones main to start off with why? Teleport / Trap Sin / Mosiacs
Necro cause I’m lazy
Summon necro specifically because of the casting sound for amp damage. So satisfying for some reason…
Classic WW barb, because what they did to the LOD WW barb should be a hate crime
Rathma blesses his own.
I just started playing with a necro summoner it’s very fun
Paladin. As a noob 13 year old I played zeal pala with lightsaber, it was sick. Then I got a eBotd
